Which tastes better, regular fondant or marshmallow fondant? I can't use buttercream because it might be hot outside and it will melt.

That other stuff is just blech.
When you're rolling it out - use LOTS of cornstarch...and when you're making it, use LOTS of shortening on your bowl and mixer!

Shortening on your hands also helps when kneading in colour.
