OK.I give up. What's a tag fairy?

Seriously! I've been searching through the site and the FAQ, but I can't quite figure it out. I keep seeing them referenced, but I don't know what it is!
I'm new, so forgive my ignorance.

But, everyone seems to talk about it with such enthusiasm. It seems like a Christmas morning kind of thing... and I love Christmas morning! :santa:

New... but having such fun here! I've been a member for 3 days, and I'm hooked. :disrocks:

tag fairies, are magical beings who visit the boards, and grace people with tags under their usernames. You never know when they are going to strike, or where....you just have to believe

Basically, they watch the threads on all the boards and sometimes, if they find something particularly funny (or embarrassing) you will get a "tag".

If you look under my user name, you'll see I have one tag "aka Roadie" in green and "Tags were donated" in orange. I guess that's two separate tags.

You can edit your status under your user name by going to User CP and I think it's under options...but you cannot add color, that's Tag Fairy magic!;)

Sometimes I'm not all that with it.

Also, I run into so few women who do what I do, I'm always anxious to touch base with another female LD. Guessing you might be in a similar situation. Not sure what kind of engineering you study to go into road design, but I know in my graduating year at PSU the whole college of engineering had maybe one or two gals.

Welcome to the Dis! The tag fairy is a wonderful, good natured, lively person who moniters the boards and will give you a tag under your name. I have yet to get a visit though. Maybe one day!
