We're planning to send out our own save the dates, does Disney have to send out there's or can we tell them not to? It's mostly family and we'll be including the address to our website on our save the dates so people can book their hotels. Is there anymore info on the Disney save the dates that people might need to know? Does anyone have a copy of a disney save the date they can post? I'd be interested to see what they include that we might not....

the disney save the date used to have all the information on rooms pricing and ticket pricing. It might not anymore, plus a link to a website. We let them send it out. it built excitement getting something from disney:)

The save the dates from Disney have the info about your roomblock, ticket info, and gives your website. It's really nice and also has a professionally put together booklet just talking a little about Disney World. I would definitely let them send it for you because it's included with what your paying. Some of my guests thought that they were so nice they thought it was the invitation :rotfl2: We had ours sent out and then 2 weeks later sent a newsletter with preliminary RSVP's. HTH! :goodvibes

I agree you should use the save the date. They are like a book! Everyone that I had them sent to was like..wow, that must have cost a fortune! There is lots of info about Disney, the room block, tickets ect.,. Plus they are really pretty and tasteful.

I made Save the Date magnets and sent them back with my contract. They will include my magnet in the Save the Date mailing they do. If you haven't sent your contract back yet, check with them.

I'm dealing with heidi at the moment and from reading other posts it seems others are more helpful than mine right now!
It seems to be that you get different info from each of them really no consistancy (sp?) from them, thats my thought anyway

Yes...after you sign the contract, put down your deposit, and get them your guest list they will send out the Save the Dates for you. Depending on when you get the guest list to them (I, of course, was a little late) they will send them out right around the 8 month mark.

so if we are signing the contract at 12 months does that mean ours will go out just after that or will it be the 8 month mark for us too?

I could be wrong but I believe those are from Jennifer at Sassy Designs... or at least we ordered the same exact ones from there.
I asked my sales manager if I could have the save the dates sent to me and I will add my own save the date, newsletter/info, a copy of Birnbaums official guide to a few of our out of state guests who haven't been, a Disney planning DVD, and a preliminary RSVP. I am planning on making it into a box like package and adding mickey confetti and stuff like that.

Here is a picture of the Disney "Save the Dates" that went out. It's hard to see, but the booklet has a carriage outline on the front. The extra pages are inserted in the back and have the information for the tickets and the room block.

We sent out packets of information right before our save the dates went out to everyone. We told them that they would be receiving the mailings from Disney directly.
This is a weird angle, but the packets had a booklet on Disney from AAA, our first newsletter, a brochure for the airline that we are setting up a group rate through, Save the Date magnets, and a letter from us that was written on the Disney Dreams stationary that can be personalized and downloaded for free on the Disney site.
We have a great agent that worked with us at AAA. She ordered 25 booklets for us and even got some of the planning videos (a little cheesy this year, but were great for people who have never been to Disney).

Mine were done by a professional. I am crafty, but not that crafty. I really didn't have the time to fool with it, and outsourcing all of my paper goods to people who knew what they were doing was a good deal for me!

Ha ha - I can't blame you for that! I so desperately want to make mine, but I probably will end up buying them from somewhere, knowing my luck! :goodvibes
