Okay, as the info starts to trickle in.....what are you thinking about adding on (or not) at BCV?

Thinking about it....we'd like to add on 50-100. Thought we'd wait for Eagle Pines but the pictures here look very nice (I wonder how many units get that great view). We'll have to check it out in person first though.
We're NOT very impressed with BCV to date, but I'll try to look more carefully at the property during our next WDW visit in April:) :) ........

DH was adamantly against an add-on and I didn't think it was a good idea either but tonight I got a call from my sister-in-law and she told me they are going on the Disney cruise next June (3 day land/4 day sea) for her daughter's high school graduation and DH wants us to go. When I explained just how expensive it would be in June to pay cash for the cruise and how much more sense it made to do a 50-100 point add on at BCV instead, he actually said he'd think about it. My reasoning is that it makes more sense to take the money we would spend on the cruise and get 40 years use out of it, right?
So we could be on the way to being proud owners of a modest BCV contract! :D :D

By the way, I wouldn't trust the Epcot view in the DVC website photo, it could be simulated. I won't have a problem buying at BCV no matter what the view is because I don't really care about views (I want Stormalong Bay), but if it's your reason for buying I'd check and make sure there really are views like that.

I agree that the view shown does look like a simulation. I'm hoping that some of them would actually have an Epcot view.

I think the view in the picture is real. There should be quite a few rooms on the back side of the BCV with this view. However, if you go out on the balcony and look down, you will also see the road. From the lower floors in this area, you will see the road, but no Epcot.
I don't know if this will work, but I'm trying to insert a picture I took of the map of the Beach Club complex in the lobby of the Beach Club. I marked in blue the areas that could potentially have an Epcot view (I think some rooms maybe be blocked by trees if I remember correctly). Areas in red my actually be able to see Illuminations each night.

Ok, that obviouly didn't work. If you go to my Yahoo photo site, I added the photo there with the title "BCV views".

I think we'll do at least 28 and maybe as many as 50. 28 equals 2 studio weeknights during magic season. That'll ensure SAB every year. I can't see 7K for 100 points in our budget plus the additional $400 in yearly dues. With a contract at both OKW and BWV plus 2 other timeshares (a beach week and a mountain week) it's getting to the point that we have more vacation time then we need and plenty of dues bills....spruce

Here's a rookie question,
We have 300 points at BWV. By adding an extra 100 points at BCV or VWL, what are the implications?
I know that we will be able to make ressies 11 mos out instead of 7, but would that be limited to only the extra 100 points at that resort? or could we apply all 400 points to the ressie?
Is that clear as mud? :)
Thanks!

If you bougt 100 BCV points then you'd have the 11 month window at BCV with only those 100 points. The 11 month window is only for points that you own at the DVC resort you own them at. Any reservations made at a different resort then you own points at, have the 7 month window....spruce

We will decide when we go this November for our first VWL trip. If we like it and DW wants to do an add on I think it will be enough points for a two bedroom at Magic season every two or three years. Still deciding on how many points to buy.

First time purchase, leaning towards 270 points.

We can't afford anything right now. In a year or two, if the prices are as low as they are now, I'd probably do a resale at BWV than a new purchase at BCV.

We went over the the Y/BC several years ago, just looking around and strolling throught the different resorts. I thought SAB was a very nice pool area, and generally liked the resort. But our current ownership of 345 points, all at OKW, seems just right for us, and gives us lots of flexabilty. We [i]may[/ii] add a few points at DI or EP...we like the quieter more relaxed resorts.

I'm thinking about it ... I voted for 150 points because I think it's a good add-on amount, as a seperate contact, because it can be sold to anyone and not just someone with the same UY as we have. Then again, 150 points is a lot, so I'm thinking about a smaller amount. 100 points would get me in a studio for a few days over NYE. We already have 230 OKW points.
I just put together a little spreadsheet for the NYE time period for a studio. For 150 points I could always stay at least a week. For 100 points I could stay 6 days if NYE does not fall on a Saturday or Sunday, 5 days if NYE does not fall on a Friday and 4 days no matter what day NYE is. I am able to stay the week after NYE, BTW.

My wife who posts on these boards(jx3smom) is trying to talk me into an add on of 150-210 points. It seems like a pretty good idea. This would give us over 400 points which would be great for us.

Called my guide this morning and added on 150 points!!! I have only been a member for about 13 months and have already added on 3 times and now have a total of 450 points!!! Woo-hoo! This is more addictive than chocolate! ;)

Thought I'd bump this up for one more day. Lots of good responses...interesting as always to see the wide range of opinion.
