Can you get AAA discount on rooms when booking directly through Disney?

Absolutely. I do it every time. As long as you are booking room only, just ask for the AAA discount and they'll let you know. It varies with the season and type of resort, but you definitely can get it when you call Disney to book. Depending on when you are going, they may not have the AAA rates available when you call. It seems like they come out sometime in August for the next year.

You can't order a package with the room, DDP, and tickets all at once? I always want to get the DDP. Otherwise I'll just book through AAA again.

Yes, you can get the AAA discount on a room only reservation if you call Disney directly. However, if you want a package with park tickets and dining, you must book through an AAA agent, as Disney's CRO cannot book the package for you with the AAA discount included.

Thanks for the info.
What about Dreams Unlimited? Can they get the AAA discount on packages?

Tam's right--any type of package has to be booked thru AAA.

You may want to check both. I called to make my reservations through Disney today and they said none of the resorts I wanted had AAA discounts available. I then went online and checked with AAA and I was able to get the rooms I wanted with the AAA discount through the website. That seemed pretty strange to me but I have confirmation numbers. I don't know if AAA reserves some rooms in advance that only they can sell or what. But anyway, you may want to check both.

Did you actually book a Disney hotel right on the AAA website? I have never seen Disney properties in the section where you book hotels, only offsite hotels. I wonder what I am doing wrong?

There is a section at the bottom of the search page that will ask if you have a preference on hotel brand, scroll down the list and there is one for Disney Resort only! It listed most all of them when I was checking! : )

One thing to keep in mind if you are going through AAA's website is that they will list all the hotels with availability, even if they don't have discounted availablility. You can usually tell which ones still have the discounted availability because the rate won't be an even number. For example, for the dates I've been checking it shows a resort with a per night rate like $267.75, which would be discounted. It also shows a couple with rates like $250 or $305, which are the same rate you see on the Disney website (and therefore, not discounted). Just because there is availability on AAA doesn't mean it's discounted availability.

My AAA website is not showing the rates for 2008 yet. It still says room not available. I'm hoping they will get them posted pretty soon.
