I have become resolved to the fact that I'm not going to get any DVC Mickey pins. Noone has mentioned them for ages, so I figure they aren't being mailed anymore. So I decided to visit Ebay to see what it would cost me to pick one up there. Well, there are two guys that are selling these pins by the dozens, sometimes in lots of 5 to 10! There are lots of completed auctions, too, only going back a month or so. Wondering how many they've sold, for how long, and how the heck did they get them?!? I actually e-mailed them to ask how they got so many. If they send an answer, I'll share it, but I doubt they will.

Diana - check your email (My PM was too long!!) :)
Are you sure they are the DVC ones. In the parks they sell ones that look almost exactly like the DVC ones. I mistook one for a DVC pin in a class I was teaching the other day. I asked the woman which resort was her home resort. I could tell that she didn't know what I was talking about. So I asked her where she got her pin and she said a few weeks ago at WDW. Then I noticed that it had larger stars than the DVC ones.

Ours were mailed to us, but my mother in law never got hers. She was very disappointed!! We ended up buying them off of ebay for her and her dh for Christmas. The woman I bought them from also had many to sell (2 per auction, about 10 auctions currently going, and many completed) I emailed after I won the auction and asked how she got so many, but she never did respond.
I'll bet someone knows someone who worked at the place they were stored.
Sad, isn't it? The people who SHOULD get them for free have to pay $$$$ to people who shouldn't have them!!

Ok, here's a reply. This guy has maybe 30 pins listed in the last month.
"I traded for a bunch of them, I thought with the date on the back they
were so great and I traded some really great LE pins for them. I lost a
friend on 9-11-so thats why my interest."

I wonder if maybe these "extra'" pins we're either "lost in shipment" or if maybe the company that produced them reported them as "2nd Quality" and were supposed to destroy them?

I had emailed MS about not recieving my pins yet and my sister had recieved hers. They emailed me why they sent them and if I didn't get mine by a certain date to email them back. So of course I didn't get them and emailed them back. They told me they would send them right away and that they were the one's they were selling in WDW. They never mentioned they weren't the same pins, I realized this while reading the last discussion about the pins. But the DVC pin has 13 strips and the date is on the back. If they didn't have enough to send to everyone, they should have at least sent the pins that they sent to me to the members that didn't get one.

Well, they apparently DID have enough to send to everyone, they just went astray. Here's the reply I got from the second Ebay mass seller of DVC pins:
"I was able to purchase them in bulk. "
Very fishy. Diana
