If you start a reservation the range of rates for each hotel comes up. It keeps telling me that there are no rooms available though for my dates. I checked a bunch of resorts.

I may have jumped the gun. :headache: I too am getting no rooms available. :confused3

I wonder if this means they are comming online today? Has anyone else gotten in that far before?

That's the furthest in I have gotten. Prior to now, it hasn't brought up resort rates at all for my August, 2008 dates.

I got no rooms available for my dates at any resort... hopefully this just means they're almost ready to release and we should see it soon!

Well at least they are farther along today. They probably are still trying to work the tweeks out of the computer system. It seems like it will be any day now. So far I have heard some people say Friday, Sunday, or Monday. Any day now:) .

For the WL it is showing a $10 increase over last year. Standard in value season was $215 and now the range starts at $225. If that is the standard increase that isn't too bad. Now just waiting to see if the weekend rates are higher....

At first, I thought it was giving me a no-room becuase our check in date is Jan 1 (New Years Day). Maybe they will get up soon, the values are showing $82-$151. $10 more for the Holidays season too.

I checked the Wonderful Weeks of Disney for 'winter' and Jan 2008 comes up (without a price :sad1: it says to call to book your reservation) but it does show P&PP! Hopefully that means they will be having it in Jan again! My DS didn't go to WDW this past Jan. and he missed out. It also mentions YMD 'celebration soars to life'....I thought it ended 12/31?

The P&P has been advertised on the Wonderful Weeks for Jan for a good month now. I am hoping the same as you- that it means there will be P&P this Jan. This party would be perfect for my DD8 and DS6- DD very into princesses and DS very into pirates. Here's hoping for an announcement soon!
On the YOAMD, it has been reported on the Theme Parks and Strategies board that AP holders got a newsletter saying they are extending it for another whole year- through Dec. 2008.

Here's hoping for rates soon!!!

They're definitely still working on it. From what I can ascertain though, the rates have remained largely the same on value resorts except for the high end prices which seem to have increased a little bit. Deluxes and moderates have increased by about 10 dollars. Not bad....

sorry if I'm like the tenth person to post this; I'm getting so excited for my trip in January and it seems like I won't have to be paying too much more!!! :yay:

I looked too, the pricing seems off to me. For the Boardwalk the rates go from 325. not bad $10 increase from last year to 695.00. I don't know what room classifications are, but the high end seems high. So I don't think the system is quite ready, at least I hope not.

Actually, I checked and a Garden suite at a value rate is now 595.00, so that would mean that it will now be 695.00. Is it me or does that sound like a steep increase? Does anyone think they will increase it by 100.00? I am a little worried now. It doesn't make sense to increase it by only 10.00 at one end and 100.00 at the other. I wish they would just release them.

I tried too, but no availability.

CR starts at 270
BC/YC/BW starts at 325
AK/WL starts at 225
GF starts at 385
Poly starts at 340
Mods start at 149 (up to 240)
Values start at 82 (up to 151)

DVC
SSR and OKW start at 285
VWL start at 315
BWV and BCV start at 325
(no pricing listed for AKV)

These are obviously standard rooms during value season. Now we wait for the dreaded weekend rates and the other seasons

I just tried something. We are going Jan 1-7th. I tried backing it up a day on the DIS site for Dec 31-Jan7 (adding one more day) and got some interesting results. My total quote was $2271.00 (that is 7 nights at Pop, no prefered, dinning plan, 6 day base tickets, no insurance)

According to my math (based on 2007 figures) is should have been less.

POP, no prefered room, 7 nights. One night at $129.00 and the other 6 at $82. (rack rates per seasonal schedule) Total room cost $621.

Dinning plan 2 adults, 1 child should be 38.99+38.99+10.99 or 88.97 per day and $622.79 for the 7 nights.

6 day base tickets = $587.00

Add 621.00+622.79+587.00=1830.79 X 1.06 (tax) = $1940.63

I wonder what the extra $330.37 is for?

I just talked to a Disney Rep. She says they are not out today despite the look on the Web site....BUT she did say we'd be VERY HAPPY with the 2008 package rates!!

Yay!

The 2008 rates have not been released yet. You can be sure that the DIS will post them as soon as they have been released and confirmed.

Ok I can account for you $330.37 (more or less - it doesn't add up but I didn't do the full out math for you). All 7 nights have to be charged at $129 per night according to the current booking rules. Also the tax on the room portion of your package is 12.5%.

Where are you all seeing rates on the website for 2008? I am not getting rates unless I check in 12/31 and then they are not actual rates. I am trying to find out if the rumor of holiday rate for 01/01, 01/02, 01/03 and 01/04 is correct.

I think everyone is looking at the rate range to figure the increase out. The Boardwalk (where I am staying) range is going from 325.00 to 695.00, depending on the type of room. It doesn't look like a huge increase. I think I may have read Disney's site wrong earlier. I assumed when you put in your dates that the range of prices would be for that season. But the more I played around with it( I put in all sorts of dates) the price range didn't change for any season. I have heard about Holiday rates being in the beginning of January, but that seemed to change with CM's. Every CM had something different to say. So now, we will still have to wait.

What sarcasm?:confused3 I understand completely. I didn't know how to edit my post until someone told me. I then editied it. "Better now?" was asking if my edit was good enough as to not mislead anyone.

You are o.k. shasta! Everyone jumps the gun a little. We must all be careful with new rate exclamations as there are many heated debates as to what disney is going to do in 2008 with regards to rooms and the DDP.

And......we all want to know NOW, or at least i do.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I have been around forums for many, many years. As a matter of fact, I am a freelance writer and homebrewer and actualy wrote a full feature article in a nationaly published brewing magazine regarding homebrewing forums and how they have helped people learn to brew who may be in rural areas where homebrewers are few and far between.

My point is, I learned long ago that in text only posting, without voice inflection, tone, etc. that allow a person to judge the persons intent, misunderstandings are sure to arise.

Mermaid_Ariel may have an answer to some future question I ask. I certainly don't want to dissuade her or anyone from helping me. :flower3:
