Perhaps I've missed it, but I don't see a thread for this month yet. I really need this challenge to help me keep on track during this insanely busy month.

I will be glad to "host" it, but might not get to update as frequently as I have when I started the thread in the past.

I'll try to update your name in color to show your progress
10% will be blue
25% will be dark orchid

Count me in. I'm finally back to being able to work out again after having my foot problems. But I'm all good now. I think I should start a little slow though just so I dont over do it. Start me out at 700!

Thanks for starting this, Cam! I don't know how you manage everything you do. I barely manage to get here every so ofter to check in, and certainly not as often as I should. You really are an inspiration! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I did get a start on the month today. 60 min of golf for me today before the thunderstorm came in. I'm not usually very good, but I was pleased with how I was doing today. :yay:

And so far today I have done 55 minutes walking and 30 minutes swimming.

So that makes 85/800 for today.

WOW, I am so happy to have so much company for this challenge.

I did 60 minutes TM tonight, so I am at 60/1000.

Just a reminder -- I'll be away from late Thursday until Sunday night and will update everyone's numbers when I get back. Hard to believe by then we'll already be nearly 1/6th of the way through the month. :eek:

Thanks for doing this. Last month was my first challenge and I know this month is going to be very hectic with school starting back and so many appointments I need to attend. The challenge really pushed me last month and I was able to do more than I thought. I'm going out on a limb here and try to do more than last month.

Please put me down for 1400 minutes. Today I did 60 in calisthenics and weights so as of today:

TOTAL: 60/1400

Hi! I'm out of town August 25th for 2 weeks. We're going to Walt Disney World for a week then the beach for a week. With this in mind, please put me down for 600 minutes.

I am at 60/1500 after yesterday. Went to gym and did 20 min on elliptical, and 40 min strengthening and stretching. 3 mile walk on tap for today.

Another 20 minutes for me today. I just went for a slow walk. I am giving myself the day off heavy exercise to let some of my muscles rest just a bit. :)

WEll I am pooped! This morning I rode my exercise bike and then went swimming in the pool. While I was in there I exercised without my son knowing he thought I was just playing and having silly challenges! SO tongiht after dinner he invites me to bike ride much to his surprise I said SURE!

I falied to remember that after one goes down hill there is a big hill to go up EEEEKK so tohse time I walked the bike my heart was pounding I wanted to cry! I kept saying Disney , bathing suit must keep moving! I needed that dinosaur behind me saying keep moving!

I did feel the size of a dinosuar but it felt good to do something my son has been hoping I would get back to doing with him one day.

I made a deal with him one night walking next night biking. After we returned I crawled into the pool and just sunk and stayed there !

Just keep moving ..................I think I will sleep pretty good tonight.

Glad this is here I like the accountabilty and seeing what otehrs are doing to help motivate me.

Did a quick 3 miles (35 mins) this morning, then did 4 miles (63 mins) this evening. This brings my August total to 19/110 miles (267 mins) and 17.27% of goal.

I am doing MUCH better this month (so far) with keeping pace to meet goal. Hope to keep it up and meet/beat my goal .

Well, we were at my son's camp all weekend and did so much hill walking, in addition to a 40 minute walk each morning. I am calling it only 1 hour at the camp each day, so 200 minutes total from Friday through Saturday. Hoping to get in a WATP tape tonight, but this is it for now.

I think I got everyone's minutes to here, and hopefully showed the color changes for progress. If I didn't please do not hesitate to pipe up and ask me to fix it!

Hi all. I think this is really great. Can I join in? I am planning a weekend trip to Disneyland in October and a one-week trip to WDW in May 2008 and I want to be in shape!

I'm starting in a little late this month and am not in shape so I will put myself down for 800 minutes and see how I do (I love a challenge).

I am pretty sure I got everyone to here.

I have to ask a HUGE favor! If you can put your total to date each time you post, I can use the most recent posts to update just once per poster. UGH! I don't know how to explain it, but if you put your total in your post, that will be SOOO helpful to me and I will be able to update pretty frequently. We have a lot of challengers (WOOHOOOO!!!! :woohoo: ) so this will make it so much easier for me to do the updates. Thanks, everyone! :grouphug:

Walked 30 minutes yesterdat ~ new August total is 240/1400 Typically, the more I sweat, the more productive I feel the walking is. However, with this humidity, I start sweating within 2 minutes :scared:

20 minutes walking 14 city blocks today and 30 minutes on the ellptical puts me at 370/1000.

Today I did another 45 minutes on the treadmill starting at 4:15am (I have to be to work at 7am). I pretended that I was walking around the lake at Coronado Springs Resort.

My accumulated total is: 90/800

Okay, apparently the updates I did Tuesday night at home didn't "take" -- not sure why? :confused3
Hopefully, I got everyone caught up (see, I told you guys I am not great at this. But my intentions are good! ;) )

I really wanted to commit to 1000 minutes, but rather than set myself up for a disappointment, I am going to aim at 500 minutes. With starting late, and having to take DS to college at the end of the month, I want to at least have a resonable goal.

I really need to pick up the pace. I had a pinched nerve in my neck this week and I lost 3 days of exercise because of it. I may have to do the 1 mile WATP or something tonight.

Just back from Chicago (at 2am this morning!) and am trying to catch up on everything, but I wanted to update minutes. I can only do the updates where people have given me their total minutes so far -- I just don't have time right now to go back and total all the minutes for any of our challengers.
So, if your total so far isn't right, please tell me what your total should be. :thumbsup2

Here are my minutes (mostly guestimated) for the weekend:
Friday -- walking 90 minutes
Saturday -- walking 120 minutes
Sunday -- half marathon (210 minutes) + walking to and from race start and around downtown Chicago (60 minutes)

current total -- 850/1000, but the only way I am going to be motivated to keep moving is to increase my goal, so I am now going for 1300 minutes. So, I guess my current total is really 850/1300. UGH! Now it seems so far off. LOL! Especially since my fitness center is closed 8/20-27! :sad1:

Now, I know a LOT of you have many more minutes to add and I hope you'll post soon (Lily, my friend, I think there is that small matter of a half marathon and many, many minutes spent walking around Chicago!!!! Where's your update? :) )

Walked around the Mall of America for a few hours yesterday - but only registered 2 AP's on my WW pedometer so I'll be adding 20 minutes to my 645.

And the place was PACKED yesterday - we had to park on the roof. And then the Gods of Fitness must have been watching me, because the elevators broke on our way out and we had to walk up 14 flights of stair.

WOO!!! That was some cardio!!!
