Hi.
I went over to the Disney Vacation Club website to see if they had posted anything new and the Beach Club Villas is now listed with the other resorts. They also have pictures of the rooms on the photo tour!
I think they look pretty nice. Can't wait to see it in person.

Thanks Littlestar! It also confirms an estimated opening of August 2002.

The 360 feature and the photo album don't seem to be working. What I did see I love! Now, I wasn't planning on buying here but......let's see what the incentive is going to be. ;) The size looks to be the same layout as BWV.

hi: thanks so much for letting us know. i'd like the view they show in their photo album-what a shot of spaceship earth! the colors look great too. i think the bench by the table will be a lot more usable, and i like the table better than the round one at bwv. uh oh- i'd say add-on fever is definitely in the making now!

Must have been me....got to look at everything. WDWNut....that view of Spaceship Earth is pretty awesome. That looks like an "artist's rendering" but I bet some will have that view. The pool also looks very nice. Did it have a slide?.....guess I'll have to go look again. :D :D
I think I'm getting excited!! ;)

Thanks littlestar. I didn't imagine they would update their site so quickly. I like what I see! I was able to view the 360 and the pictures also. There didn't seem to be a slide on the artist rendering of the pool, but you couldn't see the left side. Wouldn't in be nice if you could actually get that view of Epcot that the show in the picture???? I would buy just for that view.

This add on itch is getting bad. I saw a 100 point resale at OKW yesterday. If I was not in the middle of tax time I would have called last night.

The colors will be a nice change from my other homes...... (kind of YC inside, and BC on the outside)......Looks like the decor will show wear more than VWL and HH. I'm sure it will win me over once I see it realtime.

Just wanted to say Thank You for updating us! The 360 degree feature & photo albums are working great now...
The colors are VERY nice, I like them a lot.... As for the view of the ball, only the rooms on the very top floor looking towards EPCOT will have that view... don't be too deceived!!!

Great to see more information.
The floorplans are interesting. There has been lots of talk about the balconies being too small, but the balconies have two chairs and a table shown in the floorplan. I was surprised that there is no balcony off of the master bedroom. The living room has a balcony and the second bedroom/studio has a balcony, but the master bedroom does not have one. Also, it looks like there is a desk in the master bedroom which doubles as a table for the bed.
It also looks like the there is not a separate toilet closet with a door, as I think I saw in another model.
Colors are great. The amenities lists access to the exercise facility. I haven't seen any information about a lobby or lounge area specific to the villas, but the artists rendering seems to indicate one. I like the fenced off area of the pool in the artists rendering.
I'll bet it is going to be nice.
I still wonder what the big secret is about the offer they are going to have...... hope its worthwhile....
I definitely see a 100 point add-on coming my way! Thanks for the update!

I don't know how representative the floor plans are of the actual layout, but it looks to me like the sleeper couch in the Beach Club villas is bigger than the sleeper couch in the Boardwalk floor plans, with BC depicted with three cushions and BW only two cushions. Beach club is shown with 2 chairs on the balcony while boardwalk is shown with only one chair.
The floor plans may just be drawn a little differently, and may not reflect actual differences. But, from the floorplan drawing perspective, the problem with no balcony isn't as bad as thought, but there is only one balcony instead of two in a one bedroom.
Looks like myself, wife and our 10 children will be able to fit into the one bedroom just fine......

The description says double sleeper in the studio, queen size in the 1 bedroom living room. Same as BWV.
I noticed no balcony on the diagram off the master bedroom, but the picture has one (with Spaceship Earth in the background).
I like the colors. Comments I got from my BWV pictures was that it was too bright, especially the white in the kitchen.

Ya, I noticed that in the description as well, but I think BW attendees will attest that the BW couch doesn't seem like a queen sleeper. Im I right about the pictures, does it look like the 3 cushion one is bigger at BC than the 3 cushion one at BW? It would be an extra place to sit. I do think the bench table set up is better and offers more eating room. That will be great for breakfast.
I was looking at the master bedroom picture as well, could that balconey actually be a non-balcony or one of those that is only meant to have a door to open and no actual room to go out on like some of the BC? It's really just a balconey door and a railing a few inches outside of the door? I was trying to figure that out from the exterior pictures as well. Looks like there are some exterior windows that are not full lenght and have no balcony door associated, with a balcony the next window over.
Boy, anybody with more pictures to share (and thanks to those already sharing pictures) would be wonderful, especially with a possible purchase coming up.

Do we have to wait the 11 months to make reservations? It looks beautiful. I have been wanting to add on points at a resort at WDW, we own at HH. It is going to be tough not to add on. So tempting!! But DH wants to hold off. Does anyone know when the point charts will be out? Is it on the DVC site already?
Thanks

Wow, it's beautiful! I have to say, I didn't have particularly high hopes for this property after a 3 day stay at the beach club. I thought the rooms were absolutely the ugliest rooms I have ever been in! Those rooms remind me a lot of the boardwalk, but they are different enough to be worth a try. Great job, DVC! No add ons for us though, but I sure hope that the opening of the new resort alleviates some of the difficulty of getting a room in the Epcot area, and I would not be disappointed if I "had" to stay there rather than at the BW on shortish notice. Now all that's left to find out is how much the thing is going to cost and how many points it will cost to stay there.

I think the balcony off the bedroom depends on what room you are actually in. We've stayed at BWV in a 1 BDR that had balcony access from both living room and bedroom and we stayed in a 1 bdr that only had a balcony from the living room.
So, both are possible at one resort.

We won't know for sure until it's official, but the rumors is that the points will be the same as VWL and BWV Preferred.

Mikesmom,
Your comment about different balconeys makes great sense, especially from looking at the outside, there looks like there are several different types of balconies, one set of them looks pretty big, its sticks way out, is round and probably has plenty of room and an outstanding view of the parking lot.......
I think the pool area in the front will be great and would be a nice view. I hope the noise from the road behind isn't too bad. I like the minor changes in the room layout.
And, probably eliminating pool hoping priveldges for other DVC resort members will help free up some more chair space for the local orlando pool crashers...

Thanks for sharing the info! I was dying to see what the villas would look like. I'm thinking we may have to revise our OKW plans for next May and look seriously into staying at BCV instead. :)

One thing I noticed is it looks like there is no closet in the living area entry- I hope this is wrong as we found this closet useful for those staying on the sleeper sofa. I love the BC decor so I was really disappointed to see the decor be more nautical like the Yacht Club. Does anyone else think the couch is kind of ugly- Looks more like early americana quilt theme to me. Oh well I'll put up with it for the location and SAB!

I think the couch looks a little ugly also. I really don't like the decor as much as I thought I would; thought it would be more like BWV. Going to check it out in March, though. I do want another 150 points on the Boardwalk somewhere.

i just talked to a salesman...75 dollars a point....taxes and dues 3.77 a point:)
chris1gill
02-01-2002, 01:38 PM
Pluto,
Aren't the dues the same as WLV's? You didn't happen to ask what your salesman the incentive is did you? (I'm very curious)
sgtpet
02-01-2002, 01:41 PM
what about the incentive Pluto? we know that it is $75pp until June then it will be $80 pp.

02-01-2002, 01:45 PM
Kem330, you are correct, no closet in the foyer area. That is where the door connecting for a 2 bedroom is.
PamOKW
02-01-2002, 01:59 PM
I'm surprised at how low the dues are. They are less than VWL ($3.80) or BWV ($3.92). I thought they'd be closer to the $3.92. Not that I'm complaining.....that's an incentive right there.
CaptainMidnight

When you say no closet in the foyer, am I looking at the floorplan correctly, are there two closets in the second bedroom? Looks like the foyer closet was moved to the second bedroom.

if you buy 100 or more points, 5 dollars a point back or a free stay 3 or 4 nights
chris1gill

Well, that is kind of a nice incentive, don't know which I'd take (but I want a BWV add on, not BC UGH...)

02-01-2002, 03:30 PM
Pluto, is that really the incentive?

My guide called to set up a time to call on Sunday and she said that wasn't exactly it. She said we would be very happy with the incentives

I just noticed on the rates schedule for BCV that the opening date is August 24.

Those incentives are not that impressive. I hope they are greater since we are buying something that does not currently exist. I guess we will know better on Sunday.

I also thought the decor was very uninspired. And so much pink and baby blue, it reminded me of my daughter's nursery. Oh well. If only SAB were at Boardwalk, life would be so much simpler!

We have been trying to decide between BCV or a re-sale. Since the opening of BCV was so close, we decided to wait to see it.
Boy, were we disappointed by the pictures of these rooms. Are they ever UGLY!! They are worse than we could have imagined, well I take that back, the Yacht Club is pretty bad too, but atleast those rooms have a coherent nautical theme.
We are usually not that particular, considering the rooms just a place to crash. But these rooms really bother us! All of those pastels with those white cabinets. And what about that grandma quilt trying to cover up the homeliest couch in the universe? I just think we'd be unhappy coming back to such tacky looking rooms. And they are so feminine and baby looking, even my wife is gagging!
What, could they not afford a decorator this time? Or were they just too cheap to make the rooms look classy?
BWV is looking better and better all the time! Atleast it looks like adults belong there not 2 year olds.
(Since no one has purchased these units yet, I certainly hope I'm not offending anyone with my honesty!)

LOL! I wish I could call up the comments when the VWL pictures were first posted.....it's so dark, it's horrible, looks mismatched, etc. ,etc. It wasn't long before people who saw it in person started raving and then better pictures also became available.
I'd give it time and also remember "different strokes for different folks."!

I like the decor.
The clown theme at BW seems a little overdone and has too many scary movies attached to it ......
I was never very impressed by the BW pool..... but heck, at least it has a slide unlike another DVC resort.....

I hate to break it to you, but you might want to stay away from BWV also. It, too, has white cabinets and is decorated in all pastels. Maybe VWL would be more to your liking?

The point made above is a good one, pictures only go so far....
VWL is a prime example, the pictures don't match the experience.....

LOL Carol, I was thinking the same thing! Well we should know in about 7 1/2 hours or so - my guide is coming in at 7:30 am to call her clients. Sweet dreams everyone!
