We are going over Easter break - March 26 through 04-02-02. We only need to get a room this trip because we have leftover days on our Park Hopper Passes. I've check the discount code page and since we live in Ohio nothing seems to work for us. Is paying the $29.92 worth it for us? I couldn't find what percentage discount we would get on a room. I wanted to stay at the Yacht Club but when push comes to shove will probably pick an All Star because of the money. I would appreciate any help and thank you.

Disney does NOT honor any discount for Resorts during Easter Break (Prime-time).

Since you already have your Park Hoppers, I would say, NO it is not worth it. In my opinion, of course.

jdaa,With the 2002 Disney Club Card you DO get a % off ALL YEAR AT ALL THE RESORT HOTELS,even Spring Break!!![Fort Wilderness is the 1 exception for spring break].

You will get a bigger discount at All Stars than at Yacht Club. But a any discount helps at WDW!!

As your hubby's employer is offering a $10.00 discount on the Card I would Grab it!!!!! Especially if you plan to return to WDW or DL in the next year. The Discounts on rooms and tickets will pay for the DC card several times over!!!

Check here for discounts and percentages:

http://wdwig.com/disneyclub.htm

Easter would be 10% for deluxe, 15% for moderate & value.

These are subject to availability, they limit the number of rooms they will discount.

They won't tell you if there are any rooms available at a DC discount unless you have the card. At this late date there probably wouldn't be anymore discounted rooms....but you never know.:)

if there are discount rooms left then it will probably be worth it. my wife and i booked for summer and got $300 off the price quoted on the disney.com site. this was a full package though with the discovery magic plan. hope this helps

I wouldn't join DC if the hope of an onsite room discount is your reason. It is doubtful that you will be able to get a discount during Easter season. I'm sure that all of the rooms set aside for Easter week have long been taken. You would have to be very lucky to get a discount - there are probably many DC members calling every day in hope of catching a cancellation (and thus picking up a DC discount). Instead, I'd suggest you check out May Waring's Mouse Savers site (www.mousesavers.com) and see if anything there might work for you. Definitely call asap for a room if you plan to stay on site - Easter time is peak season and there may not be much choice left at this point.

DC also offers some other discounts such as a 10% discount at the World of Disney in DD and some food & beverage discounts also. You'd have to buy a lot of stuff and eat a lot of meals in the selected restaurants to break even, though.

Hope you have a great trip!

Check out the Disneyclub.com website and see if you will take advantage of any of their offers while in Disney (merchandise and food etc) or check it out on mousesavers.com. You also get 10% off your purchases in the Disney catalog and Disney Store website. Add it up and see if you will spend over $299.50 to make up for the membership cost.

I use to have the free MKC. Then like most everyone else, griped about paying for the DC. But that little card has saved me small fortune.
But since I joined DC in Fall '00, we have taken two WDW and one DL/DCA vacation. Plus I spent a small fortune on the TDS pins, not to mention regular TDS merchandise. I even used my DC card to buy my WDW AP's.
I recently rejoined DC. My only complaint is I wish that WDW allowed DC discounts like DL/DCA does. Plus another free pin for rejoining would have been nice too. ;)

Do you have AAA? That is the same room discount as DC.
I got a great ASMo room rate for last month with my AP. BUT for our WDW May '02 trip, I got the internet discount at POR.
So check out mousesavers.com to see what discounts you may get.
Good luck!

I got the card two weeks ago, for the savings on tickets, meals, DQ, etc. We had already booked our room at CBR for Mar 24 to 30 th at rack rate (Ugghhh!). Out of curiosity I called to see if there were any discounts available for the moderates to save a little $$$ and mentioned AKL. The rep quoted a price of $30 less than we were paying a night for CBR and asked if I still wanted the rate for AKL. She then said they have a standard room (Savanah view!!!) available for $33 more a night than we were paying. I changed the reservation immediately. Especially seeing it's DS's 7th B-day and AK is his favorite park (she made a note of it on the res.) I wanted to stay at AKL, and kept saying maybe next year but I think the extra $200 for the week will be worth it, seeing that we had already budgeted for the rack rate at CBR. So it goes to show that there may still be some discounts up until the last minute, it never hurts to ask!
