Does anyone know where I could listen to this music? I remember hearing some around Trails End. Is this same music played throughout the area or just around TE?

Honestly, I'm not aware of the music being audible anywhere except @ TE and the outpost (Not even sure about the outpost).

The first time we stayed in Fort Wilderness was in Dec. of 2002. We were in Loop 700. The kids had gone up to the Settlement Depot area and I wandered up to get them to come back for dinner. As I wandered through the path that takes you from the camping loops to the Settlement area, sounds of the most beautiful music filled the air. I remember thinking it almost seemed like a dream...warm air gently blew...the little lights that lined the path glowed....then it opened up to the Settlement area. Little glistening Christmas lights everywhere. :cloud9:

Now, I know it's not the "normal" FW music, but you can hear it outside the Settlement/Meadows area. This year will be the first time we will be staying in Disney when it's not been December since 1997! I know I have seen a place where you can download the FW music to your computer....going to go see if I can find it for you!

Usually, the Pioneer Hall/TE area, both Trading Posts, and both pools run background loop music. I think there is also some in the checkin front desk at FW. A thread on this website/different board had a thread about loops maybe a year ago.

I think there is a holiday season loop as well. If you like the FW loops, you might want to check out Bela Fleck's CD "Tales from the Acoustic Planet Vol. II" as a couple of those songs are "looped" throughout FW.

The FW loops are mostly acoustic bluegrass....some old-fashioned and those like Bela's more modern bluegrass.

I also particularly like the loops from Wilderness Lodge as well. They're more western movie/theater tunes but I enjoy them too.

The smaller pool is usually less crowded so if you want to read a book or close your eyes and lay on a lounger and listen to the music, that might be the place to go (evenings are particularly quiet and peaceful there). The music loops are particularly important to me to establish a feeling of place and when I'm at work or in the car, the FW loop always takes me back.

Good luck!
