I know this is unusual for the camping boards, but my family was planning a trip for this October. My DB-fourgonefishn is new to these boards and really getting into the whole trip planning thing.DSIL was diagnosed with leukemia last year about this time. She went through chemo and was in remission. They just found out the cancer is back. She has been put into the hospital for chemo again. Her siblings are now being tested for a bone marrow match. She may have a transplant as soon as a month from now. Please keep DSIL, DB and their two young sons in your prayers. This was to be their first family trip to DW. Thanks

I taught a first grader who had leukemia. He had a bone marrow transplant in 3rd grade and is now a healthy high schooler!!

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers as well.

I hope that they can find a doner for your SIL. It's good that they are looking for one, and that they feel she can handle a transplant.

the last i heard the siblings weren't going to be tested until closer or at the end of the month. she just went through her first round of chemo, again.. she is home for now.

fourgone can correct me if i am wrong. but, she goes through chemo and then is ready for the bone marrow. the chemo does last a month. i believe..

we are all praying that she has a great recovery...

THANK YOU ALL!!!!
Here is the low down, yes she is home and glad to be here verses the hospital.(even though the nurses fight over her as she keeps all her records herself). Went through the 5 days of chemo and is starting to get really tired, has to run back to the hospital everyday for lab work. Anywhere from 1hr to an entire day! They have started testing her siblings as of today (Thursday). I believe the transplant is happening within the next 2 weeks. hey will not tell us who is the match as for our HIPA laws here in Wi. but they will tell us who is not! When that happens (transplant ) she will be in hospital for a month and I don't think any early release.
Thank you all again!

As my sister-4mickey2 and brother-fourgonefishn have said, our family thanks you all for your prayers for Joan. We are waiting to hear if there are any matches. Luckily she has 6 siblings so the chances of a match are good. Thank you
