I'm starting an official 5/4/2008 cruise meet. :cool1: :cool1: I started one earlier but didn't title it properly so I'm hoping more people will find this one. I've met one other fellow cruiser here  and am looking forward to meeting more!!

Thanks so much Crystal for starting this thread! YAY! This makes us "official".

Now we'll have something to do to pass the time, because boy it sure seems like right now we have a looong wait. :rolleyes1

BTW do you know what cabin you are in?

We are in a catagory 6 stateroom. The others I'm not sure about right now. It DOES seem like a long wait :rolleyes1 but I'm hoping the time goes really fast. :yay: I hope some more cruisers find us! I didn't know about his site before our last cruise so this is really exciting!

Crystal -

I saw on another thread that you guys are taking a shuttle to the port. We are staying at WDW the night before and I think we are going to rent a car and drive to the port. We want to arrive early too, and maybe make a stop on the way.

What are you plans for the Nassau? I don't think we will be getting off the ship, although DH may take the diving excursion. I will stay onboard if he does. We have been to Nassau on other cruises. I don't know that we will do anything on CC either, except head for Serenity Beach! We are just two adults, no kids this trip.

Geez, there really isn't anything we can do for a long, long time....

Hi Judy! We have a land and sea package so we will be at WDW for 3 days prior to our cruise but decided to take a private van for the flexability. Some of us are doing the dolphin excursion in Nassau. We went shopping in Nassau last year on the cruise and have no interest in doing it again. Castaway Cay is beautiful! Last year we went on the glass bottom boat and even though you really couldn't see thru the glass bottom (dirty) you could see over the edge and it was amazing. The guide was very informative and we were able to feed the fish oatmeal off the side of the boat, which my daughter loved!:thumbsup2 This year I think we are just going to enjoy our day on the beach! We fly out 9 months from today!!! So exciting :woohoo: yet soooooo very far away!!! :rolleyes1

Hello Larry and Mindy! Sorry, Crystal, doesn't look like we get the Wonder all to ourselves after all! :lmao:

I've been working on the scrapbook I am going to give DH for Christmas. That's how I plan to tell him about the cruise. :yay: Boy, no one ever told me scrapbooking was so much work! I lay it out, think I like it, glue things on, I don't like it. GEEZ. :headache: Makes planning the cruise look so easy!

I have two WDW trips before May. In two months we are running the Tower of Terror 13K, then in January I'm doing the Half and DH is doing the Full. I'm trying to focus on the October trip because I can't STAND IT that the cruise is so far off, and I can't even TALK to him about it!

I know it will be we worth it on Christmas Day! :goodvibes

Well, just over 7 months to go!! I have been obsessively planning, shopping, packing (yes packing). I bought some beach toys that were marked way down and summer clother for my DD that were on sale. (No shopping for meuntil the extrapounds are gone) I did go to the Disney Store a few weeks ago and found really cute character shirts for $5.00 each! I got everyone in my party one- a different character for each person- to wear the day we get on the ship. We are shipping a box to the ship ahead of time with toys, pillowcases for autographs, photomats for autographs, beach stuff, gifts for servers, stateroom stewards, and kids club counselors (stuff we won't need at WDW). Have you guys checked the DCL website lately?? I'm glad I booked when I did..... the price went up over $500.00!! :scared1: We also transferred our reservation to Dreams Unlimited and got an additional $100 onboard credit!:thumbsup2 I also preordered 4 copies of the 2008 WDW Passporter. I have a 2007 and LOVE IT!! I joined the parrporter club and got 35% off the books and future orders (the 2008 DCL passporter comes out in January!), 5 + ebooks on their website and so many spreadsheets I haven't been able to look at all of them. My husband says I have a Disney/Planning addiction/obsession. Oh well; I LOVE IT!! So now we know there are 15 people on our cruise.... Will more find us?? The suspense is killing me!:lmao:

WOW! You are amazingly organized! I am very impressed! :thumbsup2

I'm going to book a room on-site today, probably at CBR, since we are arriving two days before, running the Minnie Marathon, then heading over to Port. Don't worry, we'll shower first! :lmao:

I need to buy some "cruise clothes" too, but I am also trying to loose a few (OK, 45!) pounds so I'm waiting just a bit. But I might take your advice and order something matching and Disney-ish for boarding.

Oh what fun this is!

 185 DAYS TO GO!! I am so excited!! This Saturday, I plan on being up nice and early to make our advanced dinner reservations for the land portion of our trip at WDW. We added the dining plan to our package and are eating at Coral Reef in Epcot, Crystal Palace in MK and Boma at the AKL, hopefully. So really, we have 182 days before our vacation officially begins. Now that Halloween is here, I really hope the time flys by. Hope all are well and getting really excited about our trip!:cool1:

!!UPDATE!! So after reading alot on this forum about the DDP for 2008, we decided to cancel it for our vacation. It just doesn't seem like that great a deal since it doesn't include an appetizer or the tip anymore. However, I was still up early Saturday morning to book 1 ADR for Coral Reef in Epcot and we got the seating we wanted. And, even better news, We bought our plane tickets today! I found a really good deal early this morning on line. And I booked the hotel for the night before we fly out (the airport is 2 hours away and the flight leaves at 6 AM) 177 days to go!

I am so glad you found our thread and I see it was your first post! WARNING!! This forum is addicting! But it is a good addiction! I love all the great info and tips. I only wish I knew about this site before our first cruise last year. If I had to give you one tip right now it would be to get the Passporter books for DCL and WDW. I love them and have so much fun reading thru them and planning and planning and planning some more! The new WDW Passporter comes out this month and the new DCL one comes out in either January or February. We have 3 children traveling with us, my daughter age 6, nephew age 9 and niece age 12 (1 month shy of 13 at cruise time). A few of the other who have joined our cruise meet have kids as well. This is so exciting; getting to know our fellow cruisers. Lets just hope the next few months fly by!

Oh thanks for asking. Almost everything is done. I have to finish a few more pages in the scrapbook, then just wrap it up. I decided not to book the flights until after I give it to him because we may want to spend a few more days at WDW before the cruise. Right now I have just one night (5/3) at CBR booked. We are running the Minnie Marathon the next morning then heading to PC. I mean, after we shower and change. But we might go down earlier, like maybe Wednesday. He keeps mentioning the Wilderness Segway Tour, but we'll see.

And you're right! I can not wait to give this to him! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Judy, this is so exciting! :goodvibes You have to post as soon as possiable after you give it to him. :goodvibes We will be at WDW on the 1st and we are staying 2 days after the cruise, too. I am getting my husband a gift certificate for Christmas to do the Richard Petty driving experience the day we disembark from the ship. Then I think I will take my daughter to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in DTD. I haven't called yet so I don't know if I can get her an appointment or not. :confused3 Has anyone read the 2008 Passporter for WDW yet? It is awesome!:thumbsup2 Now I'm just waiting for the new DCL passporter to come out!

Crystal - Thanks for asking. He was totally stunned! I wish I had pictures but we had trouble downloading them so he took the camera to work to do it so I'll have them in a few days. My dad and his g/f and my nephew were there and it was so much fun! I gave him the scrapbook and told him he had to read it out loud so he did as he turned the pages but when he got to the PC page he just stopped. He was too shocked. OMG it was great fun!

And now I don't have to be quiet about it anymore! YAY! I can talk and talk and talk about it for the next five months, like I usually do about my WDW vacations! Whoooo hooooo! I can't wait! We watched the DVD last night - twice! I played the CC Survival Guide music for him! :yay: OMG what a total blast!

Hi guys,
our cruise is getting close. Now its starting to feel real. Christmas is over and now its time to plan and focus. Just thought I would drop a message and say hello and introduce myself.

I am Mindy and yes I am a DCL addict. Well Disney addict. I live close to Disneyland and make countless trips a year there. I became really obsessed with DCL when we took our so to speak second honeymoon. It was my dream vacation and DH surprised me with it. I ve wanted to go back ever since, but felt my DS was too small. So we have waited for 2 years for him to be pottytrained to go. Yeah.!!!

Cyrstal- my daughter Cecily turns 6 on March 1st. Maybe they could play together in the club. She wont know anyone. My son is 3 but he'll have my niece to play with in the little group.

Everyone have their cruise lists printed and checked off? Are you going on the land and sea? We are and added an additional day to our trip, so well be leaving here from arizona pretty early in the morning on April 30th. Were going to be staying at the POR hotel. Anyhow-hope everyone has fun planning and counting down the days!!! Mindy.:yay:

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!I hope everyone had a great holiday season! I have been extremely busy lately (my DD turned 6 December 30:lovestruc ) but now it is just vacation planning and waiting!:cool1: I have started to get things together slowly but DD is already packed!:rotfl2: We did quite a bit of shopping at the end of the summer season so she is all set!

Mindy, I saw your door decorations and I absolutely love them! SO CUTE! I am going to try to get everyone in my party together for a craft night before we go to make door decorations. We are doing a land and sea as well but will be staying at AKL. My brother and his family will be at POR, though! I can't wait to tell my daughter that she will already have a little friend to play with in the lab! She will be so excited! I'm going to call her as soon as I am done with this message. No school for her today; we got 12+ inches of snow in the last 2 days!

Frequent Flyer, I can't wait to see your fish extender! I do not sew so I'm either going to attempt to make one with the iron on binding or bribe my crafty niece into making me one! :worship:
I am trying my best to check for new posts. For some reason, I am not receiving emails anymore when there are new posts to threads I am subscribed to :confused3 Has this happened to anyone else?:confused3
119 Days and Counting! Yippee!!

yes,I am having the same problem.last night my son asked me how many more months till we get on the cruise.I told him 4 months but 3 months and 27 days till we get to disney, were doing the land and sea package. All he cared about was that it was 4 months till we get on the cruise and celebrate his birthday.he will turn 8yrs old the day we board the cruise.he is so excited its all he talks about.I think he is more excited about the cruise then about going to disney world.he doesn't know it yet but I am buying the birthday celebration package from disney so when we walk into are cabin there will be banners and a cake saying happy birthday. It will be a wonderful surprise for him.can't wait to get this trip started.

We are doing the countdown at our house, too. Kcatplay, my nephew that is going will have just turned 9 when we cruise! He will be very excited to meet someone on the ship! We are having our pre-cruise celebration on March 30. I have some little gifts for my family and then we are going to make door signs and decorations and maybe have some konk koolers to get us in the cruising mode! (not that I need much help getting into the cruise mode) :goodvibes

Do you guys think we should come up with a catchy name for our cruise meet group? :confused3 You know how some of the cruise meets are titled (i.e. the Nana-Heads, Bash on the Boat, and Captain Jack's repo). Maybe we could have a contest on our cruise meet to pick a name and I will give a gift to the winner at our cruise meet on the ship? We could all pick a name and then everyone can vote for their favorite... What does everyone think? Any takers? This could be fun and then we can add the group name to our door decorations!

Hi everyone! Earlier this week I sent out a PM to everyone on our cruise meet. Today I noticed that some of you have low post counts so I'm not sure if you can send or receive private messages. So, I thought I would put the message on the thread and instead of sending the answers to me via PM I'll give you my email address. Okay, here is the original message:
I hope everyone is getting very excited for our upcoming vacation! I have been speaking with a few others on our cruise meet and we have a few questions....
1. Is everyone planning on having a fish extender?
We would like to give little gifts to each other so if you are planning on having a fish extender and would like to participate, let me know. Also on this note, if you are comfortable giving me your cabin numbers, it would really help with the fish extenders. I will not post them on the main boards but will send the info in a PM.
2. Could everyone please tell me how many adults and kids are in your party? This will help everyone shop for fish extenders.
3. Has anyone thought of a name for our cruise meet? I thought this might be fun and we can put it on our door sings!
4. When would everyone like to meet up? I would like suggestions for times and places and how many gatherings we would like.

I will send everyone a PM with the results as soon as I get all the replies back. Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions and I can not wait to hear back from each and every one of you!

So, if you didn't get the PM, please send me an email at hairymustang2@aol.com (okay let me explain the email address:) I am a hairdresser and the director of education at a cosmetology school *hairy* and my cat is *mustang*):) :rotfl2: I will respond to you via email as well. I know some people are a little uneasy about having their room numbers on the main board so I will try to keep that very private. I really appreciate everyone getting back to me with the information. Once I get it all back I will inform everyone of the outcomes. If there are any other questions anyone would like to ask, please do so and I will try to keep all the info together! Thanks ya'll!

YAH! We are almost in the double digits! And my list of things to do just keeps on growing! I have been keeping pretty busy lately. My DD is packed, :rotfl2: for the most part, and I have started the collection box that I am mailing to the ship ahead of time with beach toys, DD's pirate costume, etc. but still have to make 3 fish extenders, finish shopping and everything else. Work has been ridiculous lately (soooo busy) but hopefully it will be slowing down soon.
Kcatplay, frequent flyer and Mindy: thanks to the replies to the questions in the previous post! Honeibee, I hope you had a great trip to WDW and |I am looking forward to hearing from you and everyone else on the meet. I have started to put together the information so I can have it out soon. I don't know about everyone else but I am definately a compulsive planner :rotfl: and I need to plan out every detail way in advance! And I love shopping!!
I hope everyone is super excited!

Crystal,
You sound just like me. I am way over packing!! I already know it. We got our costumes, but need to find sand toys. Summer stuff is already coming out at Walmart so perhaps I can grab small stuff. Fish Extender wise, you have 3 right? We have 3 of the 5 cabins in our group so far wanting to participate. (DS's cant decide not DISers) I got all our Fish goodies, and ready to go. Just that stinkin' thing called time stands in my way.:goodvibes
Keep us posted how many Fishies are going up. I may need to get more goodies! Shopping is okay with me.

I'm sorry I haven't been on in a few days. I've been super busy! I did get a chance to make 1 fish extender (I'm making 3 for the 3 staterooms in my party) and I also made 18 luggage tags using the Home Depot Mickey heads. I will post pictures once everything is done. :woohoo: I'm getting very excited! :yay: Now I really have to focus on the DIET!:scared1: :scared1:

Lets all give Crystal a BIG thank you for her hard work in making our Fish Extenders experience flawless. I couldnt have done better. I know the time is getting close, and planning is really starting to sink in. Packing already in process. After this valuable information, Im sure all of this new fish extenders thing will be so much fun for the kids and Adults alike. We are looking so forward to having this fun experience onboard, we have all jumped on the bandwagon to participate. Thank you again Crystal. We cant wait to meet all of you, and share in the "Disney Wonder".

Heres a tip that Brandon and I did this morning that really helped us get organized. We had already purchased lots of gifts for the FE's and had them all in a bag ready to go. However, after Crystal's so organized list, we got gallon ziploc bags and put the persons name, stateroom and children list if any. This way we could "see" the bags. I put them on the floor, where I was able to divi up the appropriate gifts to eack cabin, and put them in the ziploc bags. So each stateroom participating has their very own ziploc bag with the room number attatched. Delivery, will be so much smoother for me. Perhaps, this helps.;) :confused3 :yay:

DH and I are doing the Exotic Rasual and Im getting a facial. Not to sure about Palo. Perhaps I need some convincing that this might be worth it?! Plus DH has a major medical issue with what he can eat. Ive seen the menu's and there isnt much of a bland choice of food.So food choices are limited. We also booked two of the Castaway Packages. The kids are too small to snorkel so we figured this would work great. We were not too impressed with Nassau last time we went, so were just going down town. Shopping then to the Pirates Museum, and back on the ship to swim all by ourselves. Yeah! I already booked the kids in the club online. They are both so excited about it. My daughter Cecily, even constructed her own FE. Not sure how that will pan out letting her know, its not going on the door (too big). But a 6 year old needs some credit for trying!:)

Well, like I said before, Myself, DD,DNiece and DSis are doing the dolphin encounter at 9:30 in Nassau, DH and I have reservations for Palo brunch and we made a reservation for DMom to have a massage (It's a surprise!):wizard: DH and I had dinner at Palo on our last cruise in 2006 and loved it. We got alot of special attention though because we were married onboard that night. We thought it would be nice to celebrate our 2nd anniversary back in Palo! pixiedust: We didn't book anything for CC yet; I'm really looking forward to just relaxing on the beach. Last time, we did the glass bottom boat on CC and even though it was really neat, I wouldn't do it again. The bottom of the boat was really dirty and you couldn't see thru it. We saw better over the edge. Nassau didn't do much for us last time either so after the dolphin encounter, we will probably head back to enjoy the ship. I have 2 out of our 3 fish extenders done! Packing in progress! :woohoo: Box in the middle of the bedroom for stuff I am sending to the ship ahead of time! :clown: Kids registered for clubs! :yay: Ressies made! :) Will this vacation ever come?!?!?! :hourglass It's driving me crazy!! :drive:

Hi ya'll! It's been a few days, I feel I am out of touch. So Im writing in. I have a question I just thought of. When do the 75 day ers get to reserve? Is it the 18th? Just curious. I am not good at figuring that out. But I sure knew mine day to book though!;) I would love to do the Stingray encounter, Sound fun. Just dont think my kids would be to keen on the idea of a large fish sucking the food off thier hand. I did this in Sea World. It feels really weird. Crystal, I thought I had read that you are taking your daughter to The Bibidi Bobidi Boutique.!? When are you going if so.? Were taking DD on Sunday Morning before boarding the ship. Should be fun. Is it like Libby Lu's? She loves Libby's. Anyone else doing Land and Sea? We'll be at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Going a day early. Hope to hear from you soon.:woohoo: Getting closer.:yay:

I really hope my DD likes the stingray adventure. I took some convincing but I wnated something fun for her and DH to do together since her and I are doing the dolphin encounter together.
I just ordered my DD's dress for semi formal night. It's a little bit dressy but we never have the oppertunity to all get dessed up so I'm taking advantage of it! I found some great dresses on ebay and can not wait to see it!:dance3:
We were going to do the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique the day we disembark.(We are staying 2 extra nights after the cruise as well as the 3 nights before included in the land and sea package) My DH is doing the Richard Petty Driving Experience that day and we thought this would be a fun day for the two of them. DD was not into it. Her exact words were, "Mom, I can get my hair and nails done anytime at your work. I want to see Mickey!" I guess it comes with the territory when mom works with 60 hair dressers! Oh well, it was worth a try!
Only 78 days until we are in WDW and 81 days until cruisin' with the BIG CHEESE!

Welcome! All of us are very excited for the upcoming vacation! I see you are new to the forum... Caution... it is addicting! :lmao: This is the second Disney cruise for my family. I wish I had found this forum before our first cruise; it is so helpful. If you have any questions, just ask! I'm sure someone will know the answer. My biggest piece of advise is to purchase the DCL Passporter. The 2008 version is going to be released March 15 and it is definately worth the $$$. I have the old copy and read it all the time. If you go directly to the Passporter website, you can pre-order it. I have already pre-ordered 3 copies, 1 for each family traveling with me!
Are you doing any excursions or Palo? We booked ours a few weeks ago. If I can help in any way, let me know. I would be more than happy to help!

Thanks for all the warm wishes everyone:hug: Everything happened so fast I'm still kinda in shock. Last Monday is when I had the ultrasound and they discovered the cyst and the other 'unusual spot'. Friday they called to tell me I would definately need surgery and Monday they called to set up the surgery....for Tuesday. Once they started the surgery, they realized the cyst had actually ruptured and the other spot was endometrosis. So.... they burned the endometrosis as much as possiable to stop the growth and will recheck it soon. They were able to get the cyst out, though. This was my very first surgery so I was very nervous. And to top it all of, we got another 12 inches of snow yesterday! It took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to get home and normally it takes 35 minutes. You know what they say, when it rains.... Mindy I wish Ihad some of your creativity! I bought a dress for my DD for formal night (no sewing for this girl)! I don't know if any ofyou have checked lately but Disney shopping.com has quite a bit of stuff in their outlet. I ordered Pirates shirts for DH and me (DD has a costume). I can not believe how closeit is getting!!:cool1:

:cutie: Glad to know you are okay. I only think I pretend to have creativity. Its all about patters in my mind. If I think of it and how it goes I can make it, but to follow a sewing pattern!!!! Forget it.
Our family is going ALL OUT for pirate night. We did a pirate sewing and craft party to make our hair pieces, belts, Pirate jewerly, etc. I bought a pair of boots at Savers for 5$ to complete the ensemble! DH Brandon, has these funny pants (like balloon pants) but hes all up for it. Again, he is just as much as a Disney person as I am!;) DS has a Jack Sparrow costume and DD is going as a girly captains pirate. We were going to go as the "Peter Pan Characters". Us against the pirates. We even bought all of the Peter costumes. Wendy, Michael, John, Tink etc. I dunno, perhaps we'll take the kids' costumes to "play in".
We got our ticket issue fixed! our TA gave us extra days after all. Not just a 4 day pass. I wish we could stay longer but duty call. DH and I own 3 financial service offices and a lot of people need us back home. Its good to being a business owner and bad. So that is why we take very very frequent trips to Disneyland. Its a 5 hour drive for the weekend! Its our home away from home. Wish we lived closer to Florida though.:goodvibes

Just thought I would post some photos of what I have been up to lately.... recovering from surgery and laying around just isn't my thing! I am so ready to go back to work!

Here is one of our 3 fish extenders. Remember, I have no sewing skill so it was all done with that iron on stuff. The other 2 are almost done but very similar. All the pockets are different colors and we each have a different character on our pocket.

Two months to go!!! It's been a little hard to get ready. We have a trip next week to Washington state. My husband has a conference there and DD and I are tagging along. We're planning to drive over to Idaho and Montana as well. So, with that trip coming up, I can't quite put all my focus on the cruise. But I have been doing some things here and there. I bought an outfit for the cruise today and I finished my door signs. I just need to print them out. We still need to get outfits for pirate night. WOW! Sounds like fun! DH is from Montana (Missoula). Family says its REALLY cold there right now. 2 feet of snow on the ground in the valley. Mountains are covered. Im from Arizona, so snow is really something I dont do well with. Infact, I have never driven in snow before. Personally that is. Its about an average 72 right now and lovin it. I just layed out yesterday to work on a tan. Although from Arizona, I have some stark white legs right now. Winter skin I guess.:rotfl2: Crystal, what are you talking about!!! Your fish extender is awesome!! What a cool idea. Do they all look like that? Just counting down the days now. Its coming soon.:woohoo: :woohoo:

We will probably go to Missoula!! We are staying in Spokane, and we plan to drive East on 90 through Idaho and over to Missoula, Montana. We don't know exactly what's out there so we don't have any real plans except that we want to go snowmobiling and maybe horseback riding. If you know of anything cool to do over that way, let me know. We're just kind of winging it!!

Snow covered mountains in March and then sandy beaches in May!!

[QUOTE=mindy327;23551259]Crystal, what are you talking about!!! Your fish extender is awesome!! What a cool idea. Do they all look like that? QUOTE]

Thanks Mindy! Yeah, they all look like this. Different colors and character patches but the same design. Because my DMom, DSis and DNiece are sharing aroom, I wanted a way for them to be able to keep their part of the fish extender after the cruise. I was having a hard time coming up with a way to attach the pockets to each other and ended up using links ofchain- THANK YOU HOME DEPOT SALESMAN! He must have sensed that I was walking around aimlessly trying to come up with an idea! I have to say that I am very jealous that you were laying out yesterday. I don't think it got above 20 today!
How is everyone else doing? Heather, I hope you have a great time on your trip! Has anyone else started packing yet? We have! I'm trying to get things sorted out as to what I will be sending ahead of time to the ship. The box should be no larger than 12X12X6 but that seems small. I may have to ship 2..... or 3 boxes.
I havea situation and could use some advise from my wonderful fellow cruisers! I posted this on the main forum under another thread but I thought I woulsd see what ya'll think. 6 of us are using private transportation from WDW to the port and back. We have had a reservation with FL Tours for about a year now. 1 month ago, I called just to confirm things and they told me there was a problem with my pick up time. I had planned on being picked up at 8:15 AM, 30 minute grocery stop, 1 hour 15 minutes to the port would get us there at 10 AM (when the terminal opens). FL tours basically refused to pick us uo this early because "Disney doesn't allow or like passengers there this early". I told them I know that people get there this early all the time and they said they would pick us up around 9 abd have us there at 10:30. This is not what I want! Should I press the issue with them or just get a different transportation company? I don't want to have bad feelings with them and take the chance of them not showing up at all. I really want to be to the port early. Our last cruise, we use DCL transportation and got there late. I want to enjoy the first day this time! Thanks in advance for the advice!

Crystal-
I really wouldnt mind myself being late, but we take DCL transportation. I guess that I feel there is something about a bunch of DCL guests sitting on a bus full of anticipation and excitement. Last time our bus was singing Disney songs. Lots of fun and the going over the bridge to see the Cruise Line in sight was amazing. Sooo we plan on it again. BUT in your situation, If was going to pay someone to take me on my own and arrange transportation myself- YOU BET I would be making a phone call to someone about this. IF I said 8, it better be 8. What do they care? Their getting paid. Anywho, see if they will change it for you. Ask for a manager, and explain the details. Im sure they would listen. After all the customer is always right!!!!

Well, I really haven't decided whatto do about the transportation yet... Decisions, decisions:confused3 :confused3 We took DCL transportation last cruise but felt so rushed when we got to the terminal. Part of it was due to the wedding.. we had to check in, board, eat lunch (quickly), get off the ship for the civil ceremony, reboard, meet with wedding coordinator for the wedding, safety drill, party, dinner, bed. It was a crazy first day! I am looking forward to the first day this time! Thanks for the input Mindy. I will definately make sure things are resolved soon and I will let you know!

WOW!! I thought we had alot of snow! Glad to hear you had a great time! Can you even believe how quickly our vacation is approaching! 52 Days! :cool1: I finished our fish extenders tonight! Now to work on our door signs! We are having a pre cruise party a few weeks before we go to finish door signs, compare packing lists, (there is a great list on the WDW tips forum)etc. Between my scrapbooking business, my full time job and family get togethers, I have something going on every weekend until we go. The weekend of April 5th, I am going to an all weekend scrapbooking event. Hopefully I can finally complete my 2006 Disney trip and Disney wedding before this trip. I am also making my DD an autograph book using a 7X7 Disney scrapbook. I thought this would be a great project for her and I do to to fet really excited abou the trip (not like we need any help getting excited!) I know Judy scrapbooks; how about everyone else? I just got into it 2 years ago and have been selling it for 1 year. My sister was a Creative Memories consultant when my DD was born and she tried really hard to get me int oit but I was not interested at all. Then came our 2006 Disney trip and ACMoore Craft store and I was hooked. :wizard: My sister wasn't selling anymore but I found a consultant and after having 1 get together, I has sold. I signed on to be a consultant within 6 months. I have gotten all my coworkers into it and we scrap together all the time! :dance3: So what is everyone else doing for the next 50 something days? Packing, shopping, planning?? Any precruise beauty rituals? I know Mindy is already working on her tan (LUCKY) Any tan I have prior to the cruise will be from a bed or a bottle! :rotfl:

Scrapbooking!!! wow. I used to scrapbook a lot. 7 years. BUT I found it to be really time consuming. I wish I had the time to do it. So Now I scrapbook with photoshop and a digital camera with a kit. Looks just the same, but you watch it on DVD instead. Tan is doing well. Try a tanning salon. They do the spray tans now that work great. I dont really have much more to do till the vacation, so perhaps I can have DD make a chain link too. That sounds like fun. I am really trying hard to get my son pottytrained completely for the trip. He is for some reason afraid to go poo in the potty. EEEEEKKKKSS. It is sooo frustrating. So as of Thursday, no more pull ups for poo. He is completly pee trained and he knows when he has to go poo. He tells us. So I let yall know how it goes. Oh and I have 18 pounds to lose!!! Working on that one.;)

CSwan1

I may do the spray tanning; we actually do airbrush tanning at the school where I work. I have had it done before and like it, so maybe.:confused3 Other wise I'm sure a tanning bed will be calling my name.
Mindy, I was reading thru all the posts on our thread today and realized that Cecily just had a birthday- HAPPY BIRTHDAY CECILY!! She shares a birthday with mynephew that will be cruising with us as well, only he is 10. Good luck with the poo training! :goodvibes
I wish I only had 18 pounds to go. The surgery put a major damper on my exercising! :headache: I'm still trying though! :scared: I just keep saying... bathing suit, bathing suit, bathing suit!:cheer2:

Crystal - You're funny! Me? Scrapbook? You have no idea how I struggled with DH's scrapbook! :headache: It was my first and I'm pretty sure my last! I am no good at it at all!!! It ended up being 31 pages, but I think I made about 131 pages and threw most fo them out! Kudos to anyone who is creative and talented and makes gorgeous scrapbooks!

I won't be tanning either, Flyer. I get dark spots on my face and have to use about a 98SPF all the time. ;)

So, since our vacation is rapidly approaching, I have been thinking about meet times for everyone on our meet thread. This is what I was thinking...
Day 1- 3:00 @ Promanade Lounge for a quick hello and after the safety drill at the sail away party:banana: ( maybe in front of the stage)
Day 3- Maybe a pirate night photo of our group??:confused3

The meet time sounds good to me! Sounds like fun. Besides us meeting we can have our kids meet too. Cec is too anxious to meet the girls. The pooh training is NOT going well at all. In fact he is pretty sick today. I think he started to get dehyrated. Vomiting and diareah to the max. So we'll give it a day or two.
But he has been running around the house without pullups or undies. Just a long t shirt. Weve been reading a book on the potty to relax him but slow is the process. Kaden is (not handicapped but very behind) slow with comprehension. He goes to Special Education Speech therapy (is at like a 2yr old level) so its been hard as a mom to cope. I dunno. I feel like its my fault but what can I do. Love him. Encourage him, and hope for the best. So I know with the education program he is in will work well. He just started 3 weeks ago, and already we see improvement with his speech. I just wish he would improve in the potty department too. Do you think it would be still okay to get him into the club? He is potty trained. He even goes pee all by himself. But for some reason, he thinks a pull up or even undies is where he needs to poo. Weve had the "mickey wont let you swim talk". nothin!. So we work at it.:headache:
Counting down the days now. It seems like yesterday we all met. Now we get to meet very soon and say hi to our new friends!!! I LOVE this board!:goodvibes Oh by the way, I lost 5 more lbs!!!!! So I have 13 to go. Well more like 30 but Ill take 13 to make me feel better. I know I will gain on this vacation!:scared: Not what I want, but who can pass up the yummy food on board. Full meals all day long can sure add on some pounds! DH and I are SNATCHIN us up some (my favorite desserts) Chocolate covered strawberries from the pirate dessert buffet and celebrate with them in our room!

I'm glad those meet times sound good to you. I hope everyone will join us! DD can not wait to meet all the girls, either. She has been talking non stop about her new best friends!:goodvibes
Congrats on the 5 lb loss!!:cool1: I am still trying really hard but man it isn't easy!! I did my first pilates class this past Friday and really enjoyed it. It didn't feel like I was working out but then the next morning.... Now I have to lug around an extra 14 lbs of costumes and fish extender gifts to WDW. Oh well, too bad for the bell hops! Their the ones that now have to make up for the work. No more liquids?! We dont drink so thats not a concern but we were going to bring our own Martinellis 2$ at walmart 18$ on the boat.!!! I am definately still bringing strollers though, I have been to Disneyland too many times to know what my kids do after a long day. No way am I carrying them back to the hotel after they fall asleep. Have you thought of purchasing a 10$ stroller at walmart and just dumping afterwards? Thats what we have planned. Perhaps we could put a "free" sign on it after we are done and could pass it along to a family in need. :woohoo:

I hear you about the box! Mine is already packed too!! :scared1: I may still be able to bring our stroller. My wonderful brother, who is going with us but is not flying, is driving so he offered to bring it with them if they have room. It is a small stroller but unlike most umbrella type strollers, it has a good size basket under it and it folds in half. We have one of the huge ones too but this is much more convenient to travel with. Oh well, all will work out in the end!:goodvibes I just hope Delta doesn't implement the extra fee for more than 1 bag like US Air and United!!:scared1:

New Update On The Main Forum
THIS IS THE OFFICIAL WORD AS OF TODAY.
I SPOKE WITH BOTH DCL AND THE OWNER OF IDS IN A THREEWAY CALL.

This is the OFFICIAL word not hearsay ar a maybe but what we are honestly ALLOWED to do.

The owner of IDS called the Coast Guard yesterday and told them about us crazy Disney people and our desires to ship boxes of fish stuff and pirate gear. The problem before was the screening of our stuff. The boxes had to have a way to be screened so the Coast Guard is now going to have a dog sniff our stuff that we ship. SO WE CAN SHIP BOXES!!! The owner of IDS arranged this and seems like a very nice guy.

Now the bittersweet part.
1) We are allowed one box shipped per stateroom only.

2)It must be the size of a records box and weigh no more then about 20-25 pounds he said.

3)No alcohol in boxes.

4)No food or drinks. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.

5)Label the box with your sailing vessel, sailing date, stateroom or ressie number and GTY status if you are unassigned still.

6) Make a packing list and put it in a sealed envelope and tape this to the box. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.

7) If your box is hit on by the dog or choosen for addition screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding.

These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail amung other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Hey one box is better then none!

THIS IS NOT JUST FOR OUR SAILING BUT ALL SAILINGS FROM TODAY FORWARD

I don't know what to think of this!!!:confused3 I'm torn now between sending boxes and HOPING they make it or just toting this stuff with me!?!?!:headache: :headache: What to do, what to do!

pixiedust: Well, we had a great Easter Holiday and a wonderful Spring Break for the kids. Back to school today. So all is quiet in the house today! Just getting some "work" done at home. ;) I was thinking about the box issue and all I can conclude is, I am still packing my stuff now. HOW in the world would I fit all of the stuff into a 12x12x6 size box? :confused3
I am packed with all of our stuff anyhow so no going back now. When does the Toy Story show start? I am anxious to see pics. I love BUZZ. cutest feet/shoes ever. I know, it weird.
Well, I booked Cecily for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Were going the 30th when we get there at 6pm. I hope we get to see the Toy Story Musical! That is one on my favorite movies! Did you see that the Disney Channel Games are going to be filmed while we are at Disney???!!! :thumbsup2 May 3rd, they are doing a concert at the Wide World of Sports Complex with the Jonas Brothers, Cheetah Girls, etc!!! :cool1: DD would come out of her skin if she was able to see this concert! :lmao: We are concert junkies and she loves going to concerts! The tickets are free of charge and are first come first serve on Saturday! I'm going to try for them but won't tell DD either way! This way no disappointment if we can't get them and HUGE surprise if we can!! ;)
So, the box issue.... Up until today, I wasn't going to chance it with the boxes. However, I got a phone call from Delta today to say they needed to change our flights. When I called them back, I asked if they had implemented the charge for more than one suitcase and guess what they said? :confused3 As of May 1st, you will be charged $25 each bag over one per person each way!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: That would be an extra $300 for the 6 of us traveling on Delta! :headache: :scared: :sad2: I guess now I will be stuffing those records boxes to the brim to mail to the port ahead of time!!! :rolleyes1 AHHHHHHH!! :headache: 36 Days, 36 days, 36 days!

YIIIIIIKES!!!!:headache: The bag issue is not good! Luckily, were on Continental and they have not issued this policy yet. Hope not till we get back either. Hey, the box idea?! Yeah, good call on your part crystal. You can send one per stateroom so maybe your family wont need theirs. Or send it to ours. We wont be getting one sent. So let me know if you need some help. What are the Disney Games? We watch Disney channel a lot but havent heard of this. DD would fall over to see Cheetah Girls. It must be a 6 year old thing!:goodvibes

03-27-2008, 01:37 PM
Thanks for the offer Mindy! I think I will send 2 boxes and hopefully this will be enough. I did press the issue last night with a Delta supervisor and they gave us $200 in travel vouchers for the extra luggage tags or for future travel. I guess it doesn't hurt to stand up for yourself alittle. Especially now that our flights were changed too and we are getting into Orlando later than originally planned and this is a major bummer.
The Disney Channel games are chariety games that the Disney channel stars take part in. I saw some of it last summer with DD. They will be taping them from April 28-May 3 and will air on the Disneyy Channel some time this summer. I really hope we are able to get the tickets! It is definately a 6 year old thing!!:rotfl:

Hi, Mindy.
My DH Bob and I are travelling alone...going to try to make an extender. I have lots of disney fabric. I used to post a lot on the family board where we displayed our custom made disney clothes for our kids...and my grandchildren.
So, I think I can do this...do you mean I should somehow secure my extender so nobody steals it?
I will let you know when I get my room assignment....we are a category 7 guarantee right now.
We live in PA...near Heshey and in the PA dutch country...so I will see what I can come up with.
Should be fun..those are my grandbabies below...we take them to Disney every year. No one wants to cruise..."do they have animals? do they have rides?..then no..I don't want to go." LOL too funny.

welcome to are little group I'm kathy and I will be traveling with my husband and 2 kids.only 4 weeks to go and I'm outta here:banana:  .the airline kept changing our flight times to later and later which meant by the time we got to disney hotel it would be 4 in the afternoon so my husband got mad and called them.he implied that we were due to get on the cruise ship that day and asked them if they could get us a flight the day before and they could so we are flying in the night before and will know have 3 whole days at disney before we go instead of 2 1/4 days:cheer2: :cheer2:.I have so much stuff have to buy a new suitcase cause don't have enough room for everything I have to bring.looking forward to see everyone soon.

Hey Kathy, what airline are you traveling on? Delta did the same thing to us and then informed me of the charge for anything over 1 checked bag per person. :scared1: I was NOT happy. :headache: I went out this afternoon to look at new cameras and I think I found the one I want! My to do list keeps growing and our time is going quick!!!

I am on frontier so don't have to worry about how many bags I bring.I think its rotten what they have done about the one bag limit. It just means more people will be carrying on bags which will cause a problem when they run out of room in the overhead bins.I know what you mean have so much to do and not enough time plus have to plan a birthday party for weekend before we go.I am looking forward to the rest and relaxation I need it so bad.27 days and counting:banana:

I got my room assignment...found it on the DCL web page...nothing in mail, but I am in room 6654...it is an upgrade to cat 6 and the end room on the starboard side...a handicapped room and it is HUGE!!! I am so excited! I am sure glad I upgraded from a cat 9 to a 7...and then I got this room...WOW...

Now I have to make my fish extender and get my goodies to deliver....I think I will have to mail a box to the ship...with US Air only allowing one checked bag that is a problem...oh well...we will see how it goes.

I would love to know how you do the priceline tricks to get a good deal. Great job getting that...

I got a room at the Hyatt for the first night for $120 but that's a far cry from $38..or whatever....
I booked a room at Atlantis for $147 so that we can use all of the amenities at the resort...and I booked a dolphin encounter also for $105...might upgrade to a swim...I am excited about the dolphin encounter.

Can't wait for the cruise...this is my second one and I have a better comfort level now with the ship and all. First time it was just trying to maneuver the ship and understand everything and how it works.

Hope I can get a reservation for Palo on board...nothing available on line. Loved the meal we had there.

Also got first seating for dinner...better for us...I hated eating at 9 pm every night...way too late...and I missed the Pirate Party because of the late dinner seating..will be sure not to do that this time!

Hi guys - sitting here for the second week, having just gotten thru the flu I now have bronchitis. UGH! My training has been non-existant. I don't know how I am supposed to run 9 miles a month from tomorrow.:headache:

Anyway, counting the days now and trying to get ecited about going. If I could only stop coughing!

Yeah Susan!! Congrats on your upgrade! We are on deck 6 as well actually 8 of us in the fish extender swap are on deck 6! Are you talking about the Hyatt at the airport in Orlando? We looked into flying out the night of the 30th and staying there for a few hours instead of flying in on the 1st (more time at the parks) but the rooms were $250 :scared1: and we need 2. We are doinng the Dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon. CAN NOT WAIT!!
Judy, I hope you feel better soon! Here is some pixie dust:wizard:
This Sunday is our pre-cruise party with my family. I have goodie bags for my family and then we are making our door signs. I also bought this rhinestone bedazzler machine to make shirts! I am so excited! I also bought my new camera this morning. It should be here next week! :)
So now we have all the room numbers for the FE except 1. :rolleyes1
While I seem to have everyones attention,;) lets talk meeting times. :dance3: This is for all of us in the cruise meet not just the ones doing the FEs. So I hope to hear back from everyone!! :grouphug: Here are my thoughts: Port Canaveral Day- Promenade Lounge @ 3:30 and Adventures Away Party in front of stage right after the safety drill. Pirate Night @ 5 PM in the Main Atrium. Any other ideas, suggestions, changes?? I love input!!:yay:

It was advertised on Travel Zoo...I found it here on the cruise board under Atlantis Room Deal....booked it right away...

Yes, when I saw it I grabbed it...so we get to do everything there...paid extra $105 for the dolphin shallow swim there...and I can't wait.

Just bought my rish extenders...beautiful and embroidered. I was going to make them, but I don't need that extra stress right now...

If anyone wants information on where I bought them...and they truly are beautiful...disney characters that are machine embroidered wearing cruise attire... pm me or email me and I will give you the information.

gathing up my gifts for everyone...that is fun!

Got some cruise things in the mail...but not the official documents/luggage tags yet. Just the book that has the shore excursions/gifts/etc in it.

Hi Everyone! We had our pre-cruise party last night and it was a blast! I gave out the goodie bags and then we made our door signs. Not a whole lot of creativity here just cutting out and laminating some ideas I got from the forum. Today I am mailing my boxes off to the ship! We have a Parent/Teacher conference this afternoon with DD's teacher. She will be giving us DD's homework assignments for the trip. Even though I have been planning this vacation for nearly 2 years and I felt so prepared, I am now starting to stress out!!!:scared1: So much todo!!

Hi Yolie, Glad youre joining in on the fun. Send Crystal a Personal Message. I am sure she can forward to you the list we got from her. She is wonderful in keeping us all organized with the Fish Extender gifts. She made it so we will deliver once, to each participating cabin on a specific night. Very well thought out. So far there is about 12 of us doing this. Lots of fun. We cant wait to meet you!!:goodvibes

Counting down days!!! Great Fish Extender! Things have been pretty nuts with getting things finished before we go. I ended up going on a clothes shopping spree with Cecily! :cool1: That was fun. We got a lot of new clothes and goodies for the trip.
I sent out our box that we decided to ship after all, so hopefully it will be in our room when we get there to put up our door decorations. We are doing the DCL transportation, so I know we arent going to get on board until around 1:30 in the afternoon. And thats okay with us, we are going to enjoy the morning at AK before we go. A little more time at the park is okay with me.
I hope I dont get sea sick this time. I am really not one to get motion sickness, but last time we went, I was ready to go to be before the opening show was over. I completely missed the end of Animators Palate show. I ended up leaving even before dessert. So I have an appointment to see my Dr about the "patch". Nothings worse than feeling wooozy on the first day. Hey anything to help.
DS is still not Potty trained. So we'll just hope for the best and do what we do here. He wheres regular undies, when he says he has to go, we switch to pull ups! I know Im a sucker. But with Kaden, he has somewhat of a learning disability so the entire things is really overwhelming to him. I know in his own time he will get it.
Have any of you gotten your cruise packets yet? I am anxiously waiting for the brown truck to drive by. I get excited each time I hear a diesel drive by. Oh man. Its just the dumptruck. I am sure we had gotten them by now last time. Any input? I thought I read a thread saying 20-30 days out.

Dont worry. I did too. I have a Disney cruise logo on my ankel. Not exactly the tattoo type. Okay not at all. But hey, These days they are removable.
That is so fun. Is it on the top of your foot? Yikes. Didnt that hurt there? I thought I was going to pass out and it was on my ankel. How big is it? I cant stop smiling. I feel like I am not the only one. I show people mine and they just laugh. They dont get the Disney Love. I do know this. I wont be getting another one. I really have 0 tolerance for pain. ( example: I have a sunburn as we speak and I am being the biggest baby about it. Layed out a little too long!) I can hardly stand this anticipation. DH said to me in the car, So we have been planning this for 4 years now, what if we have built it up sooo much that we are disappointed with the trip. YEAH RIGHT! I am so excited I think I have repacked the kids stuff 3 times now. I dont want to forget anything right?!

It did hurt ALOT!! I do not recommend the top of the foot if you are a weenie like me but I have always wanted on there. It is just under my toes and goes from the middle toe to the pinkie toe. This is my second tattoo; my first one is one my lower back. Like you said, people don't get the Disney love!!

I just got home about a half hour ago. I have been in Atlanta on a business trip. I was so excited to see that my cruise documents are here!!!

It's getting so close. One night while in Atlanta, we went to see the Lion King (which was great!!) I kept thinking about the cruise and that we get to see shows every night. Then today at the airport, someone had a Disney bag. With our trip only three weeks away, it's hard not to think about it all day long!!

Crystal, very cute tattoo. I have one as well, though it's not Disney. I love the placement of yours. The one I have can only be seen when I'm wearing a bathing suit. I do want one more. One that is still a little inconspicuous, but that I could show off a bit easier. Your spot is pretty neat so maybe . . . (although my DH might kill me if I did get another)

I've had to travel a lot lately and as I was flying home, I was excited to know that the next time I pack, it will be for our Disney trip!!

Yup, that's what I got this week Don't know which day they came but they were here when I got back in town. It was late and I was really tired so I wasn't quite thinking clearly. Hey Mindy!! Dont be to bummed. 3 out of the 4 families traveling with us got theirs. The last one must be feeling left out too. In ours was a booklet on the Orlando airport, a booklet with transportation vouchers and explainations and our luggage tags. That's it. I didn't see anything to sign. Maybe it is because we checked in online and I read on the forum before that they are doing the immagration forms electronically now. We only had luggage tags for the first leg, from the airport to the Disney resort. Last time we had 2 sets. Maybe it is because we used DCL transportation before and are not using them this time:confused3 Oh and ours came UPS!! I am crossing my fingers for you that they come soon!!

He is taking his daughters to the Florida Keys next Saturday and I hope he is completely recovered by then because they are going to spend the entire week diving and he can't be coughing away the whole time. Yes, he's spending a week in the Keys then coming home for a few days then going to WDW then on the Wonder! Great planning, I'd say! :thumbsup2

I'm a little worried about running the Minne, since my training hadn't been very consistant these past few weeks. Guess I'll do the best I can and just stay ahead of the sweepers!

Your tattoo is really cool! Great design! I can't imagine how much that must have hurt, though. :scared1: You are extremely brave!!!

Yay! Our cruise docs were waiting for me when I got home Friday! OMG now it's REALLY getting exciting! :yay: I've been studying my Passporter every night! :cheer2:

Crystal - Thank you for your good wishes. I did six miles yesterday at a pace that was good enough to keep me from getting swept. I think I'll be OK, I just want to beat last years time.

We have an unbelieveable 24 hours before we board. We fly in Saturday morning, then stop at the Timeshare Store (We just bought DVC) then stop at Target for water and supplies, then check in at CBR, then we have a race team meet at POR at 4:30, then dinner with friends at Boatwrights at 6:00, then we have to go back to CBR and lay out our race gear, get up at 4:30am to get ready to race, which starts at 6:00am. We should be all done by 8:00, then go back to CBR, shower, breakfast and checkout then drive to PC. Phew! I'll need one of those lounge chairs ASAP!

WOW. That is amazing! I couldnt run 1 mile without falling over these days. So congratulations. That is something to be really proud of. And where could you find a better view? Nowhere! Running around Disneyworld with all of the things to see has to be so fun. I follow you on one of those little mopeds!:rotfl2:
We're staying at the POR! Perhaps well see your team there. I really love that resort. Mid Resort but best in its class. IMO best Disney property. It is sooo beautiful with all of the lush lanscaping and the pool is amazing! Dont know if you have ever been there before, but sure worth the visit.
See ya all real soon.  PS. Still no docs.

WOW Judy!! You two are going tobe busy! Like Susan said, you are going to need this cruise to relax! You guys are amazing to be able to run this marathon. Not this Girl- Thats for sure!!
Mindy, hopefully your cruise docs come today! I'm crossing my fingers for you!
I check the tracking on the boxes I mailed last week and they are at IDS in Port Canaveral. Now all they have to do is get on the ship and to our rooms!! And I finally found a bathing suit that I don't absolutly hate. I definatly don't love it but it will have to do. My mom and daughter have both come down with a cold. Good thing my daughter has the week off from school- plenty of rest to get over this.
I can not believe we will all finally be able to meet each other after all this time on the forum. My daughter is so excited about meeting all of her ready-made cruise friends!!
Today is one of my last free days before we go. This weekend coming up is "family hair" so I will be doing everyones hair to get them readyfor vacation. They love having a hair dresser in the family!!:lmao: Then the following weekend I have a meeting Saturday after work, seminar Sunday and Monday, work Tuesday and Tuesday night (my daughter and niece are coming to workwith me that night to get cornrows and pedicures) Wednesday is a fun BBQ day at work for the staff and students then we drive to the airport, stay overnight and leaveat 5:45 am!! So, today hasbeen spent doing deep house cleaning and making lists for my niece that is house/pet sitting for us. I have to take DD to the bank. SHe has been very good about putting all ofher money away forthis trip. So today she gets to take it out and see what she has saved.
I picked up some of the last few things on my shopping list yesterday. Very little left to go.
I can not believe how close it is getting. I have been putting all my final notes in my passporter. Oh, is everyone okay with those meet times I mentioned a way back? I hope everyone on our meet can make it!!:grouphug:

Pirate Night @ 5 PM in the Main Atrium. Any other ideas, suggestions, changes?? I love input!!:yay:

Thanks Yolie for posting those meet times for us! I know the first on will be a quick one due to the safety drill at 4 but I thought this way we would all know who to look for at the deckparty. And Pirate Night would be fun to see everyone dressed up. If ya'll have any other ideas, please let us know!
My tattoo is doing great!! Thanks for asking! It's in that dry/itchy stage now... keeping it wet with diaper rash cream. DD thinks it is hilarious that I have to put baby butt cream on my foot:lmao: Mindy, my brother's family hasn't received their docs yet either. My sister, mom and I all got theirs on Thursday and he only lives 15 minutes from us!:confused3 Maybe it has something to do with who we all booked with?:confused3 Mom, sister and I transfered our reservation to Dreams Unlimited and brother's was still with DCL. Okay, so I opened them up. This must be the dumbest question, but How the heck do you put those luggage tags on? Do you peel all of it off then attatch the end? or Peel just the end that says peel here and attatch to other end. If you do that, it would stick the sticker part to the back of the peeling? Am I making any sense at all? And why do we have 4 tags each? I thought we were only allowed 2 bags each. Perhaps for people like me, who dont know how to attatch a sticker.

Yeah Mindy! I so excited for you! I think they want you to just peel off the little end and then stick the ends together. I am a little worried that the other end would peel off the backing and the tag would come off so I'll probably do it the wrong way and peel off the entire backing then stick them together. I think you got 2 tags each because you put the first ones on to go to POR and the second ones on when you are headed to the port. At least that is how it was 2 years ago. We only got 1 set but I think it is because we are not taking DCL transportation. They must tag our bags when we get to the port. :confused3 The tags should be labeled with either the resort or the cruise. I hope this helps!!

Yea, got my passports in 2 weeks! Thank goodness.

Those luggage tags you do peel the entire backing off and stick it to itself just like the airline does when you fly. It isn't just the end tab....it is the entire back. Hope that is clear...

18 more days to Orlando....I am really excited about this cruise. Still agonizing over the fish extender gifts...maybe the right thing will just present itself to me...hopefully! I love giving little gifts and I want them to be special. That is the grandmother in me...

I'm sure your gifts will be fantastic!! Well I repacked my DD last night , took out 5 outfits and her bag is now 38 pounds. My bag, which has 1/4 the clothes that DD has, is at 43 pounds! Mindy - Thank you for your kind words. I am the last person on the planet that would ever have thought I'd be doing races! I fell off my horse two and a half years ago and had to have my ACL replaced. As part of the physical therapy afterwards I started walking on the treadmill. Then someone on the Boards mentioned they were doing the Half marathon at WDW...one thing led to another and here I am - two Half marathons, a Tower of Terror 13K, and two Minnie Marathon's under my belt! No one is more amazed than me! Oh COOL! If you are around the POR food court about 4:30 on that Saturday, look for about a hundred of us, mostly in our neon lime green race team shirts. Ask anyone for me. They pretty much all know me. Hee hee. That would be really cool! :thumbsup2 Don't be shy at all. Everyone is really nice!

Susan - Oh darlin', I am FAR from physically fit. Believe me! But thank you. :goodvibes

Crystal - Oh I didn't even think about weighing my suitcase. That's a really good idea. When we went to WDW in January I was ONE POUND under the AirTran limit. Phew!

Hi girls!!! No posts by anyone in a few days so I thought I would say hello. ITS BEEN A LONG FEW DAYS! I have been completly stressed!

Long story short.... (long)
DS Kaden goes to a special needs preschool, for about 7 weeks now. As a mother, Listen to your gut instict. I didnt and know paying for it. His teacher was very cold and short and always has been since we DH and I met him. First time we met, no hello im _____. Just, SIT DOWN! :scared1: I wrote the prinicpal that day and let him know I was concerned with how we were treated. If he treats 30 year olds that way how does he treat a 3 yr old. Never heard anything so I just assumed I was overreacting. NOPE! Yesterday I went to pick Kaden up (usually he rides the bus home)
What I witnessed unfolding before my eyes was YIKES!!!!
I pulled into the parking lot facing the playground. Teachers didnt know I was watching.....
The kids were in the playground. Teacher on the bench and the student aide was leaving the playground to take some other children to the restroom.
Kaden got sad. He likes the student aide a lot. So her cried for Momma. (thats what he calls her aparently) Teacher was outside by himself. Kaden Stop crying. KADEN! (yelling) KADEN, COME HERE. 4xs gets him. Places him on the bench and THROWS tissue in his face. WIPE YOUR FACE! and WACKS Kaden on the head with papers and said STOP IT!
As a mom it took all I had to not get up and smack that man in the face.
Went straight to the principal and now we wait. Kaden no longer goes to that school as of today. So I am pretty exhausted. Just remember, as a mom we are given the gift of instinct. Please dont ignore it.
So to keep me happy, I sit and count down the days. I should be working right now. I have a lot of papers to scan and log into the data base for records. Lots to do and no time.
Im going to go to California this weekend to top it off. Leaving at 5 am and really no day till we leave with nothing to do. DH is leaving to Chicago for a week on Monday. I know!!! He'll be back at 10pm on the 28th so we have laundry the 29th and to the airport at 3:30am on the 30th. SOOOO no time off till we go. A well anticipated vacation, thats for sure.

UPDATE:

I got a phone call from the Principal a few minutes ago, and he was very sincere and helpful. Kaden has already been transfered! Chad (the Principal) said that he did investigate the incident and major disiplinary action was taken!:thumbsup2 He could not tell me, due to privacy act, WHAT action but he did say that consequences are to be followed.
I asked Chad, " I was so mad after seeing that, I was completly focused on watching the Teacher, that I was not aware of the other Student Aide. Was she there to witness what had happened?" Guess what! Yeah. She saw the whole thing! I GUESS IM NOT A PARANOID PARENT AFTER ALL.
He went onto say, "this was not the first incident by this teacher"
Not sure what happened disiplinary wise, but I feel soooo much better. For a mothers sake, and the protection of all of those sweet children. (some in the small class, cant even walk. Autistic. and even down syndrome)
I hope that man gets what he well deserves. Now I can peacfully sleep tonight!:cloud9: :dance3:
Thanks for the support girls. I just feel like if I had listened to myself in the first place, none of this would have happened. :sad2: :snooty:

UPDATE:

I just feel like if I had listened to myself in the first place, none of this would have happened. :sad2: :snooty:

Don't blame yourself. Obviously, if things like this have happened in the past with this 'teacher' (I use this term lightly), then we know where the problem lies and where the fault is. I know there have been times where I was unsure of someting when it came to DD but sometimes a discovery, (not a mistake) helps us in the long run. Just be thankful that you were there to see it. Who knows how many other times things like this have happened.:confused3
I said 'using this term lightly' because as many of you know, I am a teacher. I teach postsecondary at a cosmetology school. 99.9% of my students are over 18 (adults) and about 1/3 have children of their own. About 4 years ago, I was promoted to school director. We are a pretty small school (about 65 when we are full) and all the staff know when another staff member is having a problem with a student. When I became the director, not only did I know about the issues but now I was involved with EVERY issue. Being a teacher means knowing how to deal/help your students. Just today I had a student get very upset and unruly and as upset as I was, I had to keep control of the situation. Obviously Kaden's 'teacher' needs to be reminded of this.
I'm glad that Kaden has been transferred and the appropriate actions have been taken. Keep smiling Mindy! :upsidedow :lovestruc Only 13 more days!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Mindy, it's great to hear that the principal has taken action. It's also good that the aide saw everything. That way they had to know it wasn't just a parent over reacting and, although he can't discuss the disciplinary action, since it was witnessed by the aide, I'd say that's even more assurance that it won't just be swept under the rug. I don't get why someone who sounds like he doesn't enjoy interacting with adults or kids, would chose to be a teacher.

I am so excited that our trip is only two weeks away!! Now if I can just keep my family healthy. My DH has been having trouble with his knees. They have given him problems for years. He had surgery on one in his teen years and it is now inevitable that he is going to need surgery again, probably on both knees. He just made an appointment for next week so we'll see. I just hope they don't give him too much trouble on the trip.

My DN has had a bunch of crazy things. He had a hernia about two years ago, and although the doctor said it is very rare for a reoccurrence in a child, he's the lucky one. His is back and he will have to have surgery in May. It doesn't bother him so not to big of a deal right now. Then last week he came down with a fever and a bad cough. Then this week, he had a reaction to his medication and broken out in hives!! We told him he has two weeks to get all this out of his system!!

My neighbor came home from vacation today. I didn't know it but they were on a cruise in the Bahamas. He said they saw our ship!! I can't believe this time in two weeks we'll be in Disney World and then a few days later we'll be on that ship!!

Hello everyone.

Back from California refreshed and recharged. Still a little tired, we didnt get back until 3 this morning. So I think an early bed time tonight is right up my alley. Im taking Kaden in the morning to get him registered for his new school. It is rather silly though, he will go Mon-Thurs this week and Mon and Tues next week. When we get back they only have a week and a half left of school. At least he'll get to know his new teacher for next year. I cant tell you how relieved I am. I hope this new theacher is great.

Hi all! Mindy, glad to hear you had a great time in California! You'll have to let us know how Kaden does at his new school. I told my coworkers about what happened to him and they were shocked!! You are one strong woman!!
Family hair night went well Saturday night. DMom was a perm, color, cut and wax- DSis was color cut wax- DSis-in-law was perm, color, cut, wax- DNiece was cut and wax and my sisters friend who is also going to FL in May was a hilight and cut. It was a super fun night. We ordered in Chinese and had a great time. Now I have to cut my DH and DD this week and we will all be ready to go.
DD went back to school today after a week off. She and I had a cold last week and it seems to finally going away! My fingers are crossed! Mindy, I can't believe your kids are out of school in like 4 weeks! My DD's last day of school is June 20th because of all the snow days this year! I wish they would start a little earlier in the fall and only have 1 week off in the spring (maybe in March) instead of 1 week in February and 1 week in April!! If they miss anymore days, they will be in school until June 23! Crazy, isn'tit!! Tomarrow, single digits for us!!

Getting very excited about our cruise...did you read that the 4 day cruise on April 13 never got to CC? The winds were really bad and the ship couldn't dock. I hope that doesn't happen to us..

I wasn't going to write this about day care, but I think I should. My youngest Jamie was 2 when she was in KinderCare. She is now 25. One day I went in to get her at an unexpected time and saw a 2 year old toddler with duct tape over his mouth sitting alone at the table. Outside there were a bunch of toddlers being punished standing along the wall while the others were playing.....I asked the teachers why this was going on..."they wouldn't pick up their toys." even the little one with the duct tape on his mouth? Yes.

I went right to the director and told her and she just laughed and said, oh my there must be some reason....I told her that the child could vomit and aspirate and die and that as a nurse this would be abuse and I would lose my license if I were to do this to someone.

I was afraid in our small town to do more, and so I just took Jamie out of KC and found a private sitter. I should have done more, but I didn't want my name plastered in the papers...wrong of me. I still think of that situation and feel awful about it. You just never know. And every time I went in there the staff was yelling SHut up and sit down to the toddlers. It wasn't good.

I hope your son has a really good experience with his new teacher.

Susan, I had an experience with Kindercare when I was little as well. One day I had a horriable ear ache and stomach ache. The teacher refused to contact my mom and when my mom came to pick me up, I had been crying for quite some time in the corner where I was told to stand if I was going to cry. My mom took me to the doctors and I had a terriable UTI. I ended up being hospitalized for a few days. My mom was furious KC didn't contact her. Needless to say, I didn't go back.

So things are super busy here in Arizona! I got to meet Kadens new "TEACHER" yesterday! WoW.:worship: :thumbsup2 She is absolutely
Wonderful. I really do feel soooo much better about him going to this new school. I went to his old school and un enrolled him, Ms. Cindy (the aide he loves) came to give him his cubby with clothes. He ran up to her "MOM" he said. and gave her a big hug. He adores her. At that moment tears welled up in my eyes. I wish he could stay but its better for us all.
Did anyone look at the weather reports? One says RAINY:scared1: the other says sunny!:cool2: Go figure. Weather is never right anyway. Especially in Arizona. It could smell like rain, look like rain, feel like rain, but it never rains. I will say that it is HOT here. So with temps being in the mid 80's in Florida I am still going to be hot. You would think Id move to someplace cooler. I am a native, so I guess this is where I stay.
DH gets back Sunday from Chicago, then its double check packing and CLEAN my house. Nothings worse than going on vacation, coming home and having to clean. His Honeydo list is miles long. So Monday hes working on my list while I go to the salon.:rotfl2:

Ladies -

Are you bringing any "formal" attire? If so, what? I'm so at a loss here. I'm usually a capris-and-camp-shirts-on-vacation sort of girl. A friend of mine gave me a lovely long dress. It looks black unless it moves then it's cobalt blue. Very beautiful! (Of course, until I put it on. I don't really have the figure for it. ) Anyway, just wondering what you ladies had planned.... :rolleyes1

Hi Judy!! My attire isn't extremely formal but for the 'dress up night' I am planning something a little special. We haven't had a family picture taken in a long time so I figured this was the perfect oppertunity to get dressed up (and to get my hubby in a tie! He is a carpenter- not ties needed!) So DD picked a beautiful light blue dress off ebay that she wanted and we worked our outfits around this. DH wll be in black pants and shirt and a light blue tie and I will be in black dress capris, a black top and blue jewelry. I hope our pictures come out good. Your dress sounds beautiful!! If you are anything like us, we never really have a chance to get really dressed up so I am taking full advantage. I was looking for a black dress but didn;t find anything I really liked.

Are you bringing any "formal" attire? If so, what?

Judy,
I plan on brining too many clothes!!!:rotfl2: I have a different outfit for each day and evening. We packed up our costumes too, I brought a pair of boots just for it. As far as evening attire, I have 2 really nice outfits. One is a salsa looking black dress with a red satin jacket. The other is a black satin suit set I have for work, on the other nights I plan on just a business casual attire. I wanted to pack something really nice, because I plan on taking our family photo in it. We all have something packed thats red, black and white for the photo with the white backdrop.
If you dont have anything super fancy, just do with what you have and make the best of it. :goodvibes Unless, SHOPPING is an option. I know that Kohls had some great dressy outfits on sale for spring. Hope this helps. Min.:lovestruc

I went out and bought a special outfit for semi-formal night cause nothing I had nice fit and I were nothing but jeans and stretch pants cause I am around little kids all day.I'm wearing a dress shirt and slacks, couldn't find a dress that looked good.daughter has a pretty dress and hubby and son are wearing dress shirts, slacks and a tie.The rest of the dinners I am wearing collared shirts and jeans or stretch pants thats as much as I want to get dressed up on casual nights.

You will see almost anything in the dining room on "dress up night". Some people will come in shorts and tees even though you are never supposed to do that. I think that many families dress up for photos. DH and I are not fond of photos at our age (Is that me???? Do I look like that???) and he wears a nice shirt and tie and khakis. I wear black pants and a nice top.
So, don't worry about how fancy or dressy you look...you are on vacation..
can't wait...

Close to Canada but not quite. Does your DD work on the ship? This would be so neat. I have students that talk about finishing school and going to work on a cruise ship. If I didn't have a family, I would do it. I can't believe we leave in 5 days!!

Were leaving our house at 3:30am tomorrow morning. Our plane leaves at 5.
Weather looks good. It may rain on Saturday though, other than that plenty of sunshine and yes, humidity!!!! Yuck. It may be hot here, but very dry. So different from swimming in wet soup. I am still very excited. 6:30 am right now and we have all been awake for an hour now. Were trying to get the kids on East coast time. They are 3 hours difference, so 8 here is 5 am there.
Were going to be arriving in Florida at 1pm tomorrow. See everone soon!!!:goodvibes

Do we have a room number for SamLaw97?
How will we know where to deliver?

Oh, boy, we leave Sat and I can't wait to get on that ship!
Of course, DH's blood pressure is 150/100, he is dizzy and fell during the night and had to go to the doctor...doubled his BP meds...there is a stomach virus going around....I have felt queezy for over a week...maybe power of suggestion....lost a filling and had to go to dentist quick...now my tooth hurts....just hope we make it alive and well onto the ship!

Got my little gifties together...hey, what night is the Pirates in the Carribean party? I have some gifties for that night...

The 14 rooms are the ones participating in the FE. The other list is everone on the cruise meet but some of them are not doing the FEs. This will probably be my last post. We leave for Burlington in a few hours and then fly out early in the morning. Safe travels and can not wait to see everyone!!

I am sorry we didnt get to meet everyone! But the few I did meet, nice to put a face to a name! We had soooo much fun. Rebooked for a 7 day. Cecily is still crying about leaving Kailee. She was really thrilled she has a friend. Am I the only one suffering from major jet lag? We go to bed at 7pm and up a 4am. Time difference is killing me. Groggy all day and still feel the waves.

Anyone, grab extra navigators they would be willing to donate to our memory box? I bawled after knowing and realizing I had left them with other mementos in the vanity drawer in the room. My family didnt even keep theirs! They are crazy. I got a lot of great souvies though. My favorite, small but cool, was the fish extender key chain I bought. It makes me smile. Got a hoodie, shirt, towel, tons of photos from shutters, and a dcl figurine for our dinsey room!

Took my photos to get developed today. DH is working on our video of the trip. I want to do a trip report, but I have not a clue to even where to begin.
I could start out.... Cecily pucked the entire plane trip there!:scared1: She got major motion sick from the plane. After we got there she was fine though.

I am sooo sad to be back but glad to be home. Perhaps we can book on the same cruise next time too!:goodvibes

Well hello to everyone!
The cruise was wonderful and I had a chance to visit with my daughter (cast member) which I will always cherish!
I did look for someone on the first day with a marathon t-shirt but never found her! It's funny , the last day another cast mom came up to me and asked me if my on-line name was MommaK....I asked her how would you know to ask me and she said...Well, you are probably the only other Canadian cast mom on board and someone down on deck 3 was looking for me!! too funny....she tried pointing out Swan to me but I never could find her. Although you might be on my video because I was taping the final farewell of all the characters. (I was up on deck 4 looking over)
Hope everyone had a wonderful time.....I will never forget it!!!!

Thanks everyone for the FE gifts. It was fun to come back to the room and finding little goodies...like a kid at Christmas! We should have had a get together on my veranda....it was HUGE...big enough for probably 25 or more people...the entire back of the ship! The weather was super, wasn't it?

My baggies were so full of stuff for the FE that I had to leave some of them in a big grocery bag on the FE! Hope the kids enjoyed their loot...

I swam with the dolphins and it was WONDERFUL...what beautiful creatures.

I will post pictures after I recuperate from my trip...I am exhausted...we spent the last 2 days in WDW and if any of you stayed, you will know how HOT it was...100 degree heat index...it zapped your energy.

Booked a 7 night cruise for Nov 14 2009...it is a cruise that stops twice at CC. OH, and best of all I WON $300 shipboard credit on this cruise at one of the DVC meetings!!!! It paid my bill with extra $100 to spend at the gift shop!
WOW, I was so so so so happy!

Rebooked for a 7 day.

We got a quote for a 7 day and were about to go for it but my DH said we need to pay off the credit card before putting another deposit on it.

Well, today when I got home there was a packet in the mail. I opened it and it had the itinerary for the cruise we were looking to book. I was ecstatic!! I figured my DH booked it anyway as a surprise. When I looked closer, I saw that it was just the official quote

Hopefully we will rebook soon.
