Can I use DDP right away upon arrival?

Hi,

I am going to Disney World in December (with DH and DS12) and plan to get to my resort at about 6-7pm. We will be on dining plan and have credits for that night. Can we go and eat after checking in, without going to a park? (I planned to go to downtown Disney and eat at Wolfgang Puck's.) In other words, is everything in the package activated when we check in at our resort or when you first go to a park? Sorry if this is an easy question, I didn't see an answer anywhere else. Just want to know if we can eat, then start the parks the next day. First trip in over 15 years, so I'm pretty clueless here.:confused:

Yes, as soon as you check in you can start using your credits! We usually get something from the resort food court immediately after we check in, so that is how I know for sure. Have fun!!

Yes you can. Just remember to make all your dining plans before your visit.

Thanks for the info. Just confirmed today that we can take son out of school, so I'll be making dining reservations tomorrow. Looking at the menus now. Hope 4 months is enough time to get reservations. Geez, lots of planning. . .

Last year we went right from check-in over to the foodcourt. Everything was ready to go. Their system works immediately.
