Hey everyone!! You probably don't know me because I;ve been a lurker for a whileish, i had another username but i forgot the password, so i made a new one!! Anyway, the week after the 4th my family went to disney for the first time... I'll give you a little history ...

I have been obsessed with Disney since birth, as is everyone. I grew up with the Lion King, and the Great Mouse Detective, and Peter Pan, all the classics =] In 4th grade, I stumbled across the Unofficial Guide to WDW and have been obsessed ever since, reading each edition cover to cover every year. I watched every travel channel special, food network special, discovered disboards and read all the trip reports dreaming about writing my own! haha. I WAS CRAZY in 7th grade i printed out a 34 page itenerary for my mom complete with hotel and restaurants!! Yupp!!

Sooo :) ooh i like all these colors. OKAY

On Easter, I'm a junior in high school, me and my brother and sister go to our easter baskets get candy blahdy blah. and then we see our little toys that we used to play with everyday in our easter baskets. Mine had my Nala, my sister's had Belle, and my brother's had mickey. I think my sister said "cute mom, we're not 5 anymore."

My parents just shook their heads and were like...umm think a LITTLE HARDER

I just gasped and then we all screamed and :love: :love: jumped up and down for a good hour and i called all my friends and was estatic for well... UNTILL THE TRIP BASICALLY!! :banana:

it was a dream come true :]

Haley 16, aka ME. Im the complete disney FREAK of the family. You see that in the first post haha. I love sports, my friends, hanging out, and lots of other stuff. I basically planned the entire vacation! =] I am a go go go type person and hate just sitting around and being lazy, hence i had a EMH bracelet EVERY night. mmmhmmm thats right!!

Lily 15, aka. MY SISTER. she loves disney too. but shed rather go to the hotel at night and call her boyfriend then keep going all night long. but still mucho excited that its our first time in disney! We're so close in age, that we're like really close as well =]

Brady 10, aka. MY BROTHER. wasnt estatic about going to disney. youll see if his mind changes! maybeee maybe not. picky eater. can get really annoying when hes tired. wants to have his way. 24/7 not really into the whole disney character cutesy stuff :[ argh. boys.

Dad no comment, hes like me. wants to keep going and going. hes not a typical guy in the least. he loves disney haha. hes goofy and very very outgoing and friendly. very goofy. and VERY EMBARASSING.

Mommmy ditto, loves crowds, heat, and constant activity. NOT. honestly, my mom wanted to go to a florida beach and lay out everyday. She didnt complain that much, but crowds and stress.. not her thing at all. ;] Which is good i guess, cause she had no problem taking the cranky brother and boyfriend crazy sister to the hotel at night.

THE PLAN

OKay. We live all the way in good ol freezing cold Massachusetts. So of course we would fly to Florida, right? Yeahhhh NOPE. We decide to drive! All of oh you know 20 hours! Don't worry, it wasn't so bad. :) We left on July 4th and planned to check in on July 8th so.. we made lots of stops. Here's our itinerary!

Day One Leave, spend the night in Washington DC :) visit my aunt and her day old newborn baby!

Day 2 Drive to lovely North Carolina and college visit [of course had to sneak some of that into our trip!] Duke and UNC! spend night in North Carolina! :)

Day 3 Drive to South Carolina :) See Fort Sumtner [gag me and then shoot me in the face] and have dinner in Chahhhhhhlston with some friends!

Day 4 Drive to Savannagh, eat in Paula Deens Restaurant and spend one night there!!

and then drumroll... FINALLY

Day 5 FINALLY ARRIVE AT PORT ORLEANS RESORT IN THE AFTERNOON and relax by the pool for the day [ or so we thought ]

Day 6 FIRST DAY AT DISNEY. EPCOT. and EMH at MK :] maybe? ADRs at L'Oringale blah blah

Day 7 SECOND DAY AT DISNEY. MGM STUDIOS. fantasmic that night =] and ADRs at 50s prime time!

DAY 8 THIRD DAY AT DISNEY. MAGIC KINGDOM. ADRs at Concourse Steakhouse!

DAY 9 LAST DAY IN DISNEY :( :( :( Animal Kingdom. ADRs in BoMa. :) Day 10 The drive home :( begins.

all this was planned by yours truly. with the unofficial guidebook in one hand, and the disboards in the other hand. [well, sort of]

DID EVERYTHING GO AS PLANNED? DID WE REALLY DRIVE FROM MASS. TO DISNEY?

DAY ONE.

driving! So it's July 4th and we get up at the crack of dawn [6 am] to leave for our vacation. My moms so excited she grabs my camera and takes a picture of all of us. Too bad some of us don't like getting photographed at 6 in the morning... ahem. ME

Me-? It's 6 am! oh and that bracelet looks SO MUCH like an EMH bracelet! but we had a 4th of July Party thing before, where you had to wear bracelets to go see the concert thing. but when i was looking at this i was like OMG EMH BRACELET! =]

Okay so basically we drove ALLLL MORNING. stopped for lunch, OH funny story! So my best friend left on vacation the same day as us. They're going to South Carolina, we were like OMG what if we see each other! So when we get lunch, in this random rest stop! there's their family! A random rest stop in Maryland! sooo weird! We made plans later to meet up for dinner! But it was so strange seeing them!

Anyway. We arrived at my aunts house in DC --> To see her newborn baby! born a couple days before!

it was... difficult, lots of bonding time! the ride there --> not so bad. but after we finished disney and were driving home. complete and utter H***

Okay time for days two and three of our massive roadtrip. ay yi yi. There are unfortunately no pictures for Day 2. As it wasn't very exciting. We drove all morning. boring. I think i watched about 430943 movies the entire trip. Oh yeah, I finished re reading the entire Harry POtter series to get ready for the new one [nerd] anywhoo. Then we arrived at DUKE and UNC. Yepp! Don't think we can't look at colleges! :] so we toured those all afternoon, much to my brother and sister's delight! and then drove more to a hotel. and ust slept. boring day. except we got duke apparrell at the bookstore, and the workout room in the hotel was really fun :) goodtimes!

Day two!

All morning we drove to South Carolina. [seeing a theme here?]

The best part of coming down south is all of a sudden these just pop up everywhere!

they're so pretttty! :) i love palmettos! We arrived at Charleston and walked around a little bit downtown, it was so cute!

So then of course, my dad the history buff HAD to drag us on a tour somewhere.

yeah... DONT DO IT. it was an hour ferry boat just to get to fort sumtner. and then the tour was awful... it felt kinda cool, just having taken AP history i knew what they were talking about, but it was cool for a second! This whole 4 hour excursion was awful. We did take some pictures at the fort though!

The most exciting part was that on the way back to the mainland, we saw dolphins in the water... DOLPHINS. yahh definitely don't have those in Massachusetts!

Then after we were all a little crazy. haha we went and got ice cream, but i was too full. These really soulful and friendly and hilarious locals came up to us and made us tried boiled peanuts. We obliged, but they were disgusting! so we choked them down, but the lady was so funny! she went and guessed all our ages dead on, and then came to me and guessed i was in middle school. MIDDLE SCHOOL? yep! IM A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL THANK YOU VERY MUCH! so of course i got made fun of the rest of the night!

Oh I am reallyl oving your trip report. I had a dream I lived on the East coast.. but then I remembered how boring it would be to drive through so many states to get to WDW lol.. jk jk but I am jealous of you lol.

DAY 4 GEORGIA


so then we headed out of south carolina. and you guessed it. DROVE ALL MORNING. yep!! butt we all still were nice to each other, despite the fact brady just wanted to watch sponge bob and billy madison, and me and lily wanted to watch GOOD movies.

i think we watched some of the Office, and giggled the whole way to georgia...

First stop! we went to the trolley thing so we could have a tour. ;] it was fine. we got off the first stop, it was this area of little shops. so precious!
we saw some horses!

and then a candy shop. were we got free samples of PRALINES
yah. Definitely do NOT have pralines back in good ol massachusetts!
they were DELICIOUS. like melt in your mouth. omg. we tried to pretend to be different people so we could get more. yup my mom pulled us out of the candy store haha.

We went to Paula Deens restaurant, hoping to get some lunch. SOLD OUT.
it was 11 o clock! so then we asked how to get a dinner reservation.

You have to stand in line starting at 2 o clock! We were like, love Paula, but no thanks! we took a pic and left!

then ate a lunch/dinner and IZZYS. which was DELICIOUS on the water! we then went to like a marketplace thing. and got ready for the SAVANNAGH GHOST TOUR.

i guess savannagh is the most haunted place in America? slash the world? who knew! mmm.


so at 9 pm. we boarded the night haunted tour with this CRAZY LADY:rotfl: .

she took us around to all the haunted houses and told us all these urban legends and ghost stories. it was kinda cool. a little creepy. I love this kinda stuff though! :)
then she dropped us off at the most haunted house, it was featured on the Travel Channel, and the Discovery Channel. so that was cool! and we did a tour of the hosue! which was a litttle cheesy, and not scary. but interesting nonetheless!!

then we waved goodbye to Georgia and their southern hospitallilty, [seriously, everyone is SO SO nice there!!] we drove to Jacksonville, Florida to make one last stop before you know where!! I couldn't sleep that night!

Im a 13 year old and see you found mine im enjoying yours and Im also very absessed with Disney ive been to Disneyland twice but ive only been to WDW once I also just went on my very first trip and belive me In 4th grade i decided since it had been a year since my last Disneyland trip we were desperate need of another one so I begged my mom put her home page to disneyworld.com and in 5th grade my mom said fine well go to WDW next year but we ended up going this year and I had a BLAST we are back in 09 in January and I cant wait my mom said were going to go every other year to Disneyland or Disneyworld and next were almost for sure doing Disneyworld were most like also doing a 4 night cruisse and cant wait!!!!!!

We just did a vacation like your except a little different aka here was our ittenray

Day 1 Flight to Florida (We live in Seattle so no way were we driving) Arrive at Animal Kingdom Lodge and go to Magic Kingdom for EMH's

Day 2 MGM and AK for EMH

Day 3 Epcot Blizard Beach Epcot for EMH and then MK to finish day

Day 4 AK then Disney Quest and after MGM for dinner with EMH

Day 5 Relax at hotel till Check-Out then leave WDW and go to Nasa then later check into hotel

Day 6 Leave Florida arrive in Savannah and do Trolley Tour and dinner at some good Savannah restraunt since Paul Deans was full also

Day 7 Leave Savannah and go to Charleston also see the Humley (first submarine ever built) and then go to Fort Sumtner (I also found Fort Sumtner VERY BORING and nothing to do and yes the boat ride is LONG)

Day 8 Leave Charleston early in the morning skip North Carolina and travel to Jamestown Virgina do Jametown before checking into our hotel and experiencing Crocker Barrel for the VERY first time (We live in Washington and there are no Crocker Barrels in Washington, Oregon, and California and those are the 3 states we try to go to the most)

Day 9 Do Williamsburg Virgina all day and having a long relacing night in our hotel room

Day 10 Go to a plantation before going to DC arrive and DC and go to the rehersal at the capital for the big Capital concert

Day 11 (4th of July) Explore DC go to Air and Space museum most of the day then experiencing the tornado before the concert at the Capotol were I made it on National TV

Day 12 Enjoy DC with the White Housse tour in the morning then the Supreme court tour in the afternoon and the Spy Museum in the Evening

Day 13 Do the air and space museum simulator in the morning go to the Captital tour in the morning followed by the Twilight tour in the evening

Day 14 Visit Mount Vernon James Washingtons Home (very boring) and pack that evening

Day 15 Flight to Chicago early in the morning followed by Flight to Seattle then hopped in car and drove to camp and i went to Camp for the next 4 weeks and Im going back on Sunday for 4 more weeks :woohoo:

wow!! :) we do have like similar trips! i love the cracker barrell! :) =] and DC! i grew up there, [well till i was 4] but we go back like twice a year! :)

ahhh! SORRY SO LATE
i went to camp and then on another mini vacation! I'm working on the update right now!! ARRIVING AT DISNEY WORLD! WOOOO. okay! I'll FINALLY start this up again later today!!

All last night I COULD NOT sleep --> We were coming to DISNEY TODAY! AHHH!

anyway. We got up early and started the drive. Normally, i tried to sleep through the drive in the morning. But i was so excited I was wide awake the whole time. We decided to go the more scenic route along the water =] Can I just say Florida is GORGEOUS! all the palm trees and beaches. It was BEAUTIFUL. much different than my massachusetts home!

I took lots of pictures with MY CAMERA of florida. which I'll add later [all my dad's pics are on this computer!]

So then we enter Orlando. It's like 1 o clock and we can't check in until 2. So we get lunch at Chili's :) And EXTEND MY PATIENCE AS FAR AS IT GOES.

"Dad can't we just drive around disney world puhhleasee"
"No, why we can't check in til 3"
"I know can't w just drive arounddddd... puh--leaseee"
"NO"
"puhleasse"
"NO"

we are expert whiners. Finally it was like 2:30 and then he sighed and was like, let's go i guess! We all screamed.

I don't really remember driving in Disney. I was in SHOCK and overcome with happiness. I took a picture of the sign [i'll add later]

The way theyset it up is so good. It's like it's own little world. All the roads. IT'S WAYY BIGGER THAN I THOUGHT. our naivgation system [Cheryl} led us right to the hotel.

of course i jumped out of the car with my dad to register. The lobby was so nice! I loved their costumes. luckily the line was short. They were so friendly. It was amazing how I think they knew it was my first time.

"well, these kids have never been" my dad

then we got buttonns! That said FIRST VISIT! haha you'll see them! Then my dad was like HEY ITS MY BIRTHDAY! and then he got a birthday button!!! =] way to be discreet dad. I told him about the birthday button :] haha

Then we sprinted to our car and drove to ALLIGATOR BAYOU. and our room! It was small and cute. Sorry no pictures so far! I was in shock!. OH YEAH

so the guy at the desk told us that for 4 dollars more, we could ugrade our park hoppers to another day. and that MK was open until 2 that night, and for 20 extra dollars we could all go! Ohf course i was lke YES OMZG PLEASE!! but my dad was like
"we'll see Haley"

So my brother didn't want to go to the park, wanted to SWIM [typical] so we put on our bathing suits and went to check out the main pool. It was awesome! It was huge, had a water slide, a waterfall...

bradddyy did NOT want to leave, which was SO annoying because all i wanted to do was go to the park!!!

Okay scenario, my brother as crabby and annoying and DID not want to go to Magic Kingdom, [I know, crazy} All he wanted to do was swim in the pool. And then So i was like Welll -- just me and dad and lily can go, and then he'd be like NO NO NO YOU CANT GO WITHOUT ME. aka. SOOOO ANNOYING. I was annoyed.

I just begged my dad to just take me and my sister. And he was like Brady's just really tired, he just wants to sleep, he doesn't want to miss out....

ahhhhh!

WILL I GET TO GO TO MAGIC KINGDOM?
WILL MY BROTHER WANT TO GO?
IS MY VACATION ALREADY RUINED?

:lmao: You should let your dad know that you don't have to wait until 3 to check in. They will check you in early but your room might not be ready but you still get your park tickets and get to use the pool and the rest of the resort.

I also had to convince my brothers to go to the MK on our arrival day.

BTW, totally envious that you have a sister close to your age with whom you can share all these Disney memories! I have 2 brothers, yeeha. LOL.
