I loved it!!!! Very entertaining and campy. The only thing that confused me was the modern music. This was set in 1900:confused: I loved the music. They sang very well together. I was impressed. I really love "different" movies.
Danya I could see how you miss things the first time around. :)

That's what I love about this group.....we can have our differences of opinion ;) and still love eachother. :) Glad you liked it. I think it's one of those movies that you either 'hate' or 'love'. ;)

Yeah! What she said! :bounce: :D :bounce:

Debbie, I think the music was just supposed to be part of the fantasy.

I love weird movies, but I also like regular movies <--That's for Tia. She thinks I only like weird movies. ;)

I thought it was alright. The music was the one thing that I really liked about it. I thought it was a bit odd at times and I don't think I'd ever want to see it again but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. :)

DD... I am glad that you liked Moulin Rouge, I thought it was very well done myself and listen to the CD all the time.. Sign me up for liking the weird movies too.. I especially like independent films and foreign.. Some that come to my mind are Daytrippers, Like Water for Chocolate, Cinema Paradiso.. I love going to the movies..Thank God, I had daughters as Tom does not like going to the movies.. :(

I did enjoy this movie also. But, duh, label me a dummy - I just recently caught on that he is also the young Obi Jwan Kenobi in the Star Wars movies! Talent plus - and not bad looking either. But back to my review - sound like I know what I'm talking about huh - I really enjoyed the music but the story started off somewhat bizarre for me but did grow on me. I would definitely give it a thumbs up!

I watched the movie yesterday. The "disjointed" scenes at the beginning reminded me of scenes from The Monkees TV show! I really liked the story, and the music was great. I'm going to watch it a second time before it goes back to Blockbuster tomorrow.

OMG, Nancy you're right. I knew I saw that somewhere before. Used to watch the Monkees all the time.

I like SCIFI-FI movies and series, like Star Trek.

But, I might have to try this movie some time.

I watched the movie again today. In spite of the bizarre/campy/disjointed beginning (and I think it's well done - though different) - it's a sweet but sad love story with great music. I'd like to rent it again, but I don't think I'll buy it. On the other hand, I just ordered the soundtrack from Barnes and Noble today!!!! :)

I rented it but didn't get to see it before it was due back. I'll try and rent it again this week, JUST BECAUSE you said so, Debbie.

Paige, empty out your pm box. I can't get through.

Don't blame me if you don't like it. It's a matter of taste on this one. :)

DD, that's the truth. It's definitely not for everyone, but it's wonderful for some of us. :D
