Just wondering if anyone was going to be on the 11/29 3 night. My fiance and I are getting married on Castaway Cay on 12/1 (after being together 8 years)!! Anyone on their way to their favorite beach chair can say they know the bride!

What an amazing wedding idea! I'm curious -- do they have a particular area for weddings or do you get to choose? I'll keep an eye out for you. We'll be celebrating as well. My brother's birthday is the 30th. Hey, we were planning on dining the last night at Palos -- you're not going to be renting the whole thing out for a reception or anything, are you?

My husband, myself and my granddaughter are going to be on this cruise. It will be our 1st ever Disney cruise. We have always cruised Carnival in the past. I know you are as excited as we are. I hope we all have a great cruise and smooth sailing. I bet you will be the one on the beach in white. Will it be a bikini or a dress? Keep in touch. I just love weddings.

I have a lot of children coming to the wedding and they can't go to Palo so we decided to keep our normal dining rotation for the wedding night. We get married on the pier at the end of the family beach. I think it's near the Heads Up Bar. It's a 10 in the morning then we head back to the ship for the quick reception so we can all change and head back to Castaway! Most of the people coming to the wedding (I have about 30 guests right now) have never been on the cruise so I want to make sure they get to experience Castaway Cay. This will be my 4th Disney cruise and my evil plan is to make sure that we take a cruise for every single anniversary! It's my way of working one in every year. Very excited to hear that we won't be the only people on the ship!!! And very excited to hear about a 1st time Disney cruiser!! I will be the one in the white dress riding on the back of the golf cart to the bar!!

I love the idea of anniversaries at sea! I'll be looking for you on the island -- this is so exciting and romantic. . .We were married on July 3rd, so our annual tradition turned into a backyard barbecue.
I've cruised a few times on the Wonder and once on the Magic, but my brother and my step-father have never been cruising before. I'm very excited to show them the ship and Castaway Cay. Glad to have you on board, Reigle 4!

I am not the one getting married on this cruise. It is someone who replied with the same sail date. I will be celebrating my 50th Birthday on this cruise though. I figured if I was out to sea nobody would be able to do anything depressing to remind me of it. I may be 50 in age but never at heart. I still am a Disney princess kid. It's just now I have to share being a princess with my granddaughter.

Hi Lori,

We're very excited to be going back to see Mickey again. We've never been on the Wonder. I just upgraded our room today from a Cat. 9 to a 6 - I think the price may have dropped some from when we booked because it was only an additional $160 to make the change. First time for a verandah for us so that will be fun. I'm not going to tell the two little Foxes that we changed our room - will be a nice surprise for them.

Are you planning on doing early booking on the 31st?

Steve's Wife
08-30-2007, 07:19 PM
Good for you! There's something special about a verandah! I'm in a teeny-tiny standard inside. My mom and her husband were supposed to cruise on the Wonder two years ago, but he had some medical problems and they had to cancel at the last minute. I'm bound and determined that they have a good time on this "re-do". I'm definately booking asap. I want a Palo rservation for the 30th so we can celebrate my brother's birthday in style. Are you looking for anything in particular?

I blew the date! Fortunately, I was still able to get in to Palo on the 30th, and book a massage for my brother. Whew! I hope everybody else got what they needed.

DH and I decided to skip Palo this time around. With just three nights, we wanted to have dinner with the kids. :confused3 :confused3 We thought long and hard about spa stuff and just decided to visit the rainforest if we get time. Now, I just need to decide between Cable and Cabbage beaches for our Nassau day. We're going to do it on our own. What's everyone else doing in Nassau?

Steve's Wife
09-05-2007, 10:42 PM
We're still working that one out. My mom is a little unsteady on her feet, and her husband tires easily, so I'm a little afraid to push them to explore Nassau. My brother has never been on a cruise before. He's booked for an afternoon massage and a morning personal training session, so I think he's going to be "Spa-Boy". How does the rainforest work? I've never done it before.

You can get a day pass to the Tropical Rainforest Room for $15. You can also get a pass good for the whole trip. It's a room with 6 or 8 heated tile lounge chairs. You can just lounge there and listen to the fountains in the room. Then, there are a couple of different showers that are scented. There's a sauna too. You can get a nice cup of tea or water and just chill. Last time, I took a book, spent about 1 1/2 hours there and left SOOOOOOO relaxed. Plus, you don't need an appointment - just go when you feel like it.

And no kids!!:rotfl:

Thanks for the info -- sounds great! That's my kind of spa activity. It's so wonderful to have this trip to look forward to. We're starting our third week of school tomorrow, and I think that I'll want a little diversion by the end of November. I found a handful of scattered leaves on the front lawn this morning -- autumn's coming!

LEAVES ON THE LAWN!?!?!?:scared1: Still feels very much like summer here. 88 degrees today and at 6:30 a.m., it's already 77 degrees. I dread the day when the flip flops go into the closet for the winter.

Our kids are on their 3rd week as well. Started the Monday before Labor Day. I just grabbed a few minutes online before waking them up to scoot them out the door.

Will there be any little ones travelling with you on the boat? We have an 11 year old boy and a daughter who turns 9 in October.

Steve's Wife

Sadly not. We have "furry kids" at home, and the ones at school belong to other people.:sad1:
We'll actually be pulling from the other end of the spectrum -- 76 year old mom and her 81 year old husband. Oh, and my little baby brother who will be turning 39 in Nassau!
This week the Travel Channel keeps taunting me with the DCL show -- I want to go now!!!

I just wanted to chime in and say hello to everyone. We are going on my first cruise with our 2 kids (8&10). I will be looking for the new bride. Anybody have any recommendations for excursions for the kids? I am thinking we will do the excursions at Castaway Cay and explore Nassua.

:yay: :woohoo: Hi NEDISFAN,

We also have two kids cruising with us. A daughter, turning 9 in October, and a son who just turned 11. We are planning to check out Nassau in the morning (see the fort, maybe the pirate museum and a carriage ride) and then go to Cable Beach for a few hours (weather permitting). I forget which hotel we're going to get a day pass for...it's the one where they're doing major pool renovations. We're crossing our fingers that they finish on time.

We're getting pretty excited. Just think, in a few short days we can all say "hey, we're going on our Disney Cruise next month!" :cheer2:

And, what's happened to our Bride? I wonder how plans are coming along for the Big Day.

Is anyone else extending their visit to FL? All done with your ressies? I still need to book a car - we're heading down the day after Thanksgiving and doing Universal this trip before the cruise.

Anyone plan on booking onboard?

Oh, I'm getting excited!!!!I am all of the above. (excited, rebooking on board and doing FL before the cruise), but we are doing 4 days at Disney before the cruise. I don't know what happened to our Bride. I hope she isn't too stressed out with planning. What a neat idea to get married on the beach.
We decided to get a limo to pick us up at the airport and take us to the hotel and then pick us up at the hotel and take us to the ship and then pick us up at the ship and take us to the airport. That way we ddon't have to worry about anything and can just relax and enjoy. It is going to be hectic enough because we are bringing our 3 yr old DGD. So pappy and I will be busy to say the least.

Bumping us back up to the top.

I still haven't nailed down a good rate for a rental car. I guess it's because we're getting to MCO the day after Thanksgiving. :confused3 That's my "job" today.

I had a good find at our Walmart this week. They had little travel size bottles of the Downy Wrinkle Remover for $1.50 - perfect to keep in the suitcase. That stuff is a miracle in a bottle!

Fall weather has now arrived in PA - I guess that means I can start packing the shorts and summer tops!!! Anyone else start making "THE PILE" of stuff to go along?

Hi folks! I with you too! :goodvibes It's just my DS5 & I cruising. It's our 4th Disney cruise and my 5th cruise. We've only done a 3 day once before, so it's gonna be WAY too short, but I just needed to get a mini-fix and feed my DCL craving while waiting for my cruise next May. And I'm not taking my son in May because he'd have to miss too many days of school, so this is sort of a way of easing my guilt of cruising without him. :guilty: He's been bugging me like crazy to take him on another cruise and I just couldn't stand the thought of how sad he'll be when I go without him next May in light of how much he loves DCL and wants to go so badly! At his age, he won't realize how short this cruise is.....he'll just be thrilled about being on DCL again! It's been just over a year since our last time and he STILL talks about it ALL the time. Yup, I've created a true addict! :rotfl2:

Hi all,

Just wanted to pass this along...

If you're planning on going to Atlantis, www.travelzoo.com now has rooms for $169 before taxes available for the night of 11/30. Should be around $200 and gives you access to everything. The Disney excursion price for the waterpark alone is $150 per adult and $105 per kid. :scared1: We were going to visit the new Wyndham pool on Cable Beach but couldn't turn this down. Now we can do the Dig aquarium, beach, waterpark and everything. I'm so psyched! :woohoo:

We got our room today, we got our room today!

And an upgrade to boot. The planets are just lining up in our favor and we're so excited. We had started out with booking a Cat. 9 onboard. Well, a few months ago, we saw it would be less than $130 to move to a veranda, Cat. 6. So, we did. Now, our room that's been assigned is a 5. The kids don't know - they think we're in our favorite Deck 2 room (which we do absolutely LOVE). I mean, is there ANY room on the Disney Wonder that can be bad???

But, I did have to share with them that we're going to visit Atlantis - I couldn't keep that to myself. It sounds like so much fun since we love waterparks.

Happy weekend all! In 4 weeks from today, us FourFoxes will be in Florida!!!

I transferred our ressie to AAA in January when they were having their DisneyMonth promo and will have to go to the AAA office to pick up the documents 1-2 weeks before we leave. Hey, that's not far away, is it?:cool1:

Cold, rainy and just down right nasty in PA today. I think I may spend some of the day gathering shorts, swimsuits, and other stuff we'll need. I LOVE to see the pile of stuff, just waiting to go to Mickey's Boat!

So, what does everyone think about a little DIS meet upon boarding? Are there enough of us?

Ooohhh...that sounds like good news to me. Keep your fingers crossed. It does make sense that more people want to sail on the 3 day, either because of time, cost or it's a test to see if they really like cruising. And, it's more of a spur of the moment trip. Pixie Dust to you and Tyler for an upgrade...pixiedust:

I would love to meet the others we have been talking to here. I know we will get to see the birde and groom on the island but other than that how and where do you suggest we meet if there are those who want to. I have never been on the Disney Wonder or any Disney cruise before so I don't really know my way around the ship.
My husband and myself are originally from Shamokin PA (1 hr from Harrisburg) and one of our shildren lives in Stillwater (up near Benton) We just got back a few weeks ago from a visit to PA to see our family there. The weather was still pretty good there at that time. It is cool and rainy here in KY and it is about time. We have had no rain all summer and are in a drought right now so we appreciate the rain and at least I have something to look forward to to escape the colder weather.(the cruise)
We are leaving for Disney on the 25th and spending 4 days there before the cruise and then 1 day there after the cruise so I am down under the 30 mark nwo and more excited every minute. I think I too will start the process of packing the warm weather clothes and the things that we are taking along for Tinkerbell to leave in the room, while we are sleeping, for our DGD as a surprise. It makes the trip just a bit more special (if that is possible)and I think she likes tinkerbell more than Santa at this point.
Anyway, I look forward to the meet if we can get it organized.

Couple of easy options for a "meet." We can all gather in the terminal before boarding, say at 11:30. OR, a later meet onboard may work better (if there are some of us who are coming later). Last meet I was at was in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3 at 2:00 between Triton's and Parrot Cay. It was kind of tricky though because the little kids in the party didn't want to be at the meet - they wanted to be in the pool. I liked the terminal option better because there's really nothing else to do there. Any ideas/thoughts?

I have a feeling my DGD will be wanting to swim in the pool also as soon as we get on board so I too believe it would be easier in the termianl before we get on the ship. SO my next question is how will we know each other. We will be with our 3 year old DGD. It will just be my DH, myself and DGD. We take her with us wherever we go. She just can't get enough of us and we cherish it while we have the chance because and you well know, once they become older they don't have time. Plus she keeps us young.

I also would like to meet to show my DH that there are other people in this world that are like me when it comes to Disney and trip planning.:cheer2: :worship:

Thanks to everyone for the congrats and sorry I was away! Everything is going well with wedding planning - at least I guess it is. I don't really have to do anything! It's been the most stress free experience ever! All I really had to do was find a dress and that was the fun part!

Not sure if I will be able to join for any meets on Nov. 29. I will be getting the 21 guests "together" somewhat and our Florida "ceremony" is in the port at 2:30 that afternoon.

It is so much easier than arguing. He thinks I am nuts but there is a method to my madness. Now that I am packed, I can start to put away all my other summer clothes and pull out the cold weather ones because it looks as though fall is here and winter is on its way. I also know that I have everything I wanted to take so now all I have to do is sit back and wait....That's the hard part..:rolleyes1 :laundy:

Getting the documents makes it seem like crunch time..and really it is. I was away all weekend so I wasn't here to start reviewing what I had already packed...and what door signs I had left to make...etc... I will start the reviewing this week. And, trying to decide what my kids and I are going to wear boading...dinners..etc....I have lots of good things to choose from..which makes narrowing it down hard. I have made alot of Disney clothes for my girls and my youngest has more than a few she could wear/and has worn before...Should she be an outfit repeater?? I don't know...if so, how will I be able to tell each year's pictures apart...Such great problems to have....My big concern as the cruise gets closer is keeping the children WELL!!!!! So far...so good!!!! We're starting the Airborne this week!!! Waiting will be hard...but, with the Thanksgiving holiday week..I feel like I really only have this week the finish things up...:goodvibes :goodvibes

Docs! How EXCITING!!:cool1:  :yay:

I will give my TA one day to call me and then I'm on the horn tomorrow.

I have been feeling crunched for the last few weeks as I've been trying to get the Christmas shopping done before we leave. Who needs THAT stress when we come back from a nice, relaxing vacation?:confused3 I think I'm in good shape but need to spread the loot out so I can make sure DD and DS are "equal."

I have bags all over my bedroom and am slowly checking items off "THE LIST" and putting them in different bags - one for our pre-cruise trip, one for the night before, one for the cruise and the backpack I carry on the plane. :laundy: My room is a WRECK!

Airborne sounds like a great idea - I've never used it. Does it work? I've forbidden my kids to use the drinking fountains at school from here on out and insist that they wash hands before lunch. I don't want sickos onboard.:scared1:

So, are we going to gather and say "hi" in the terminal before we board? Last year, there was a Christmas tree back by the "coffee counter". Might make a pretty easy spot to find each other. Does everyone have the DIS Neon Green Mickey Heads from Home Depot? Or, if we knew what we were wearing, we could just describe ourselves and hope for the best? Ideas?

Your bedroom sounds like mine!:rotfl: I did get out the BIG duffle bag this morning...and started dividing things out...like costumes (Pirate/Princess) in that one...along with my BIG long rubbermaid tub that is housing all my precruise crafty surprises...I think all of that stuff will work in there...My regular large suitcase should be able to handle all the regular clothes..then a hang up bag...and then the precruise (night before) suitcase. So, how "Minnie" is that?? 4 pieces of luggage? Not so bag....I'm not done yet...so, as impressive as that sounds to me...I still have a couple of weeks to go!!:goodvibes :rolleyes1

I've got the goody bags for the car..one of each child...paper, crayons, markers.....coloring books....Disney themed...a few snacks to eat at their own will...nothing too bad that I worry they'll get a stomach ache... They only get the bag after homework/makeup work is done!

Airborne? I don't know that it works? It certainly is on display in the stores now. I used it last year...and will again this year...I feel better knowing I am doing something! They have them in gummy form...my ds8 LOVES them...he is begging each day to take some....they are $$ so I'm only giving him 1/2...full doses will start soon.:goodvibes

I think I'll check out that Airborne at the Wal-mart tomorrow night while the kids are at church for CCD class. Better safe than sorry - especially when it comes to Mickey Visits.

Speaking of Mickey, we found one of his cousins up in our attic this morning when I was bringing the Christmas gifts down to sort. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: He was, uhmmm, shall I say....mummified....in a trap. EEK! I won't go back to the attic alone now...dh had to go with me. I'm such a baby. Mickey's the only mouse for me!

C'mon TA - EMAIL ME!!! :badpc: I WANT MY DOCS!!!

Looks like Regis and Kelly are following us to Bahamas! They're going to be filiming their show at the Atlantis the day we're docked. We already have our room - wondering how crazy it will be.

Bags are packed and we're ready to go. C'mon Friday so we can get outta Dodge!!!!!

This will probably be my last post before the 29th...just wishing safe travels to the port to all! UsFourFoxes will be the ones with matching red and white hawaii style Mickey outfits at the port - Both me and my daughter have light red hair (hers is long - mine is shoulder length). Just got back home to icy, slippery PA. YUCK!

Kimi - Us Foxes were happy to see you and your groom riding back to the boat in the golf cart over the "bridge". You sure looked beautiful and we wish you and your new husband a wonderful life together.

Yes, indeed. The cruise was ab-fab! It seemed to last a lot longer than 3 nights since we did SO much.

We booked a 4 nighter for next year, same week after Thanksgiving. Anyone else rebook?

Talk about a small world. We were at Disney for four days beofer the cruise and we were at MGM studios watching the show High School Musical when a nice DIsney cast member came up to us to tell us where our DGD would be able to see better if she stood there and we began talking and She asked where I wass from and I told her KY and that we were spending 4 days at Disney and the gong on a 3 day cruise. SHe told me she too was going on the same crusie and that she was getting married there andI almost fell over. I told her I was the one that had been talking to her on the DIS boards. It blew me away that out of all the thousnds of people I would run into at MGM it would be her. Isn't that amazing.

Anyway, we rebooked for Dec 11th for the whole family as a CHristmas present. So we will be a group of 19 on that cruise.

I can't wait.

Welcome back to the real world. . .:scared1:
We were just down the corridor from the four Foxes -- saw your signs on the cabin door -- and I think I saw your embarkation photo at shutters (adorable matching red Hawaiian Mickey shirts). What a lovely family! We also passed the wedding party on our way to Serenity -- wow! what a gorgeous bride. They looked so happy, just like they should. I'm afraid we weren't terribly social. My mom got a little bus sick on our way to the terminal, and she wound up getting quarantined for a day. She was just fine after a few hours, but I can't get over how wonderful the crew was to her while she was confined to quarters. Despite it all, our group had a wonderful time. We even met another bride and groom in Palo. They were actually renewing their vows for their 20th anniversary, but they looked terrific.
Time to go dig out the snow shovels . . .
