Hey everyone.
You guys must be getting sick and tired of these posts, but as you know I have a bone cancer called Osteosarcoma.
I'm going to Philadelphia tomorrow for my very first chemotherapy treatment.
I'm extremely nervous, and if you guys would just maybe wish me some good luck, it would mean the world.
Also, has anyone here ever had cancer or a close friend or family member with it?
I would like to hear about it if you wish to share.
And if you had any advice about chemo it would be awesome.
Thanks everyone,
Sonya.

And don't worry about it. Think positive; think about Disney!
And my mom is having a cancer treatment tommorow, for cervical cancer. She's having another hysterectomy (so didn't spell that right) which means that they are removing more of the tissue that surrounds the space where her uterus was. It's not chemo, but, well, just...I dunno.

My Aunt had breat cancer and was given 5 months to live, that was about five years ago! She is in complete remission from the Breast Cancer!! Also she was disgnosed with liver cancer, which was in-operable, and was given even less time to live. Well over a year later, the cancer has literally dissapeared! They have no idea where it whent, but the chemo treatments she was on (which usually don't clear this kind of cancer) worked miracles! She is free from any cancer now. I think a lot of cancer survivors say surviving is 100% about a posative attitude. Keep your head high, and know I am praying for you!

My mother and grandma both had brain cancer, and both passed away recently, my mom fought it, and lived ten years, but the radiation wore her out. And my grandma was diagnosed last year, and because she was older, she couldn't fight it.

Aww! Hugs sweetie. I myself haven't had cancer but my godmother had glioblastoma (rare terminal brain cancer) that was inoperable. They gave her radiation and chemo but it didnt work. My aunt had leukemia and died after a couple of treatments because she developed a rare infection in her central lines called sepsis. Today I found out that my great-aunt has leukemia and she most likely wont make it cause of her age (she's 76). I will pray for you every night and day and I know you will make it because God will be your rock and watch over you. Remember He would have never dealt you this challenge if he didn't think you could handle it.

I forgot to say that one thing that helped my family when my godmother and aunt were battling cancer is that they created a http://www.caringbridge.org website. I am a middle school teacher who has had students lose parents to cancer. My room partner had breast cancer and I'm familar with Chemo. A positive

When she found out she made a deal with God that if she made it through, she would never drank alcohol again, she made it through, and is still alive today.

Cancer does suck. And in future, i'm probably going to get the disease. My cousin died of skin cancer, my grandma from oversea's died from lung cancer, my grandma who lived with me had breast cancer, overcame it, then just recently died of Lukemia. My aunt also had breast cancer but overcame it, and I just found out 2 weeks ago my friend also has cancer.
It's scary news, but there are always inspirational stories of those who have fought the disease and overcame it, and those hero's truely do deserve medals.

Thanks everyone!
The hair has started to fall out.
I swear,I wouldn't be suprised if I have a bald spot on the back of my head because so much hair has gone.
We're going to look at wigs later day so maybe I can find something.
Update you guys later,
Sonya.

I hope you find a wig you like.
Maybe the hair loss would be easier on you if you cut your hair really short, or like, shaved your head? That way you wouldn't really notice. :confused3 I dunno. just an idea.

Hey everyone!
Just dropping by to update.
Good new,I found a wig.
It looks almost exactly like my old hair.
Except,it's slightly darker,it's layered, and it has shorter bangs.
Bad news,the hair is going.
I started losing the hair around Monday.
It fell out in clumps while in the shower.
Since then,my hair has thinned out immensely.
I've lost more than half my hair.
I've even got some bald spots peeking out.
But,it'll all be good.
I'm ordering some hats online tonight.
So I wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
It has helped alot.
Oh,and thanks to those who've signed my caring bridge page.
It really made my day.
Update you soon.
Sonya.
P.S. - Hair is overated!

upbeat attitude and that's great! Remember the
loss is temporary. Good to see you getting lots of

I am adding my:grouphug: for the day and of course, prayers!

Hey everyone.
Today was not a good day.
I'm PO'ed beyond belief.
My parents decided I should get another haircut because my hair is thinning.
It's to the point where I'm constantly using a lint roller.
They said they would put it at a resonable length - resonable for a girl.
Well guess what?
It's been buzzed off!
I'm just so angry.
Thanks everyone for your support.
Update you soon,
Sonya.

Yay me!
I finished my first round of chemo yesterday!
1 down,1 more to go before surgery.
1 down,5 more to go in all!
I'm feeling much better.
The only pain I have is the mouth sores.
They're on and underneath my tounge, and on the back wall of my throat.
eek.
I still get a little nautious everynow and then, and I've got constant head and stomach aches.
The woman who was putting the needles in(the needles go in my chest,a couple inches below my collarbone, they're about 1 inch needles)put them in the wrong way!
Talk about pain!
Wish me luck on my next chemo.
That one is with the stronger drugs that make me violentlly ill.
It sucks,I don't want to go back cause I know they'll make me so sick.
Update you all soon.
Thanks so much,
Sonya.

Update!
1 more treatment to go until surgery!
Then we can finally get this mother flipper out!!
No more worrying about the tumor spreading, because there won't be a tumor!
Instead,a big giant metal rod in my thigh.
But oh well,if it's what keeps me cancer free, then so be it.
Haven't felt too much of the side effects from yesterdays treatment.
Just really tired and no real appetite at all.
Since July,I've lost 15-20 pounds already from the chemotherapy!
That's alot for a person who normally, can barely lose a pound.
So wish me luck for my next treatment, and hope and pray the side effects won't get too bad this time around.
Update you soon,

Nope it was medium brown.
Fair skin, hazel eyes, brown freckles, and black hair are not a good match,
On me anyway.

Yeah I was about to say...
THAT'S WHAT I AM and it looks good on me ;)
Well my hair isn't really black, but it's pretty close.
But the freckles, fair skin and hazel (well it's more hazel-ish) eyes are pretty much on cue for me.
That's so awesome that your hair is growing back =)

I don't think there's enough words in the English language that could tell you guys how much I appreciate all the prayers, hugs, thoughts, and pixie dust.
Thank you doesn't even begin to cover it.
Funny thing,I never really lost my hair.
I mean yes I'm bald, but theres hair coming out of the roots.
