Hi all-I'm going to WDW in late August for the first time (usually a winter traveler). Do I need to bring bug repellent for adults/samll children? If so, any recommedations?

Yes, we have still gotten bug bites in December - not as bad as in summer, but still. We use the bug repellent wipes, especially on our kids because they are easier to get all over with. We have also had good luck with the small bottle of Cutter spray found by the checkout at walmart

Never encountered bugs on ANY trip we had. Heard about them in june July but not in Aug, perhaps the mosquito's are just too darn HOT to bite, :rotfl2:
Have a wonderful trip!!

We went late September of 2005 and encountered tons of lovebugs, but not much else. I don't think we ever used bug spray. We returned last week of August 2006 and there were virtually no bugs (no lovebugs at all). There were, however, more snails than I've ever seen in my life. They were all over the paths at POP. I was more worried about mistakenly stepping on a snail (ick!)than any bugs.

I went last year in late August and while I saw bugs I didn't have any problems getting bitten. And mosquitos love me! So I think you'll be fine. Maybe it is too hot to bite :)
