I got this from an e-mail sent by my LSS.

I get doubles of my photos almost every time I process photos. Between giving photos away, my daughters wanting to have them, etc, it's the easier thing to do. However, I do end up tossing some of my doubles away when they are not used.

Recently I saw an awesome idea in one of the scrap mags, and I thought, wow - I gotta do that! You basically just cut around your subject using fine tip Cutter Bee scissors, and then use pop dots to put it right back in place on the double. It makes your subject literally pop out of the photo!

I've done this! They were pictures of my kids in the tub. I printed one picture in blue and one in normal tones. Then I cut their faces out of the normal one and pop dotted it onto the blue one. Cute. I'll find it and post it later... :)

I did this on the SDV album I did for my mom, I cut random petals of a rose form the Rose Garden at Epcot and popped up the petals. I'll see if I can take a pic after DH gets home, ice cream run! :thumbsup2

I did this same thing with a big thunder photo. I cut out the train, edged it in white paint then pop dotted it back onto another photo the same. i then cut out part of the hill and pop dotted that so it gave it a 3d kind of effect.
I was very happy with it

Hehe. I did this in my last WDW album for Muppets 3-D!! I had a pic of the balloon out front with Kermit on it and popped him.

What fun! I had forgotten I even did it...that was like 2002.

I haven't used pop dots before. Do they show on the page, or just raise part of the image up to give a 3D style effect?

they just raise the image. You can do a double image too. So you have 2 of the same image, one flat and one raised so there is no blank space underneath. Hang on a sec and I'll snap a pic.

here's the page I did for mine and Mom's SDV trip.

I just cut the inside petals, curled the edges under and popped up the middle part of the petals.
