I read a recent trip report which stated that after going through immigration procedure in A.M. at St. Thomas passengers were hand stamped and cleared to leave the ship immediately,NOT having to wait for ALL passengers to be cleared. Is this a new procedure?? Is this accurate info?? Sounds good to me:D

Hmmm, I'm not sure where you read that but my understanding was that NO ONE goes ashore until ALL passengers are cleared. At least that's the way it was on my 12/8 cruise last year. :)

It was my understanding that no one was allowed off the ship until all passengers had cleared the ship to. My DH missed a scuba dive in St. Thomas that I had booked on my own due to 1 family that didn't clear immigration until 9:00 am. At this time it was only non-US citizens that had to clear immigration. It wasn't a lot of fun waking up the little ones at 5:45 to be at Rockin-Bar-D for 6:00 am (which was changed without notice to 7:00 am). There were a lot of very grumpy sleepy people waiting till 7:00 am.
Does anyone have anymore info on this?
