IT'S WHAT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITNG FOR!!
At CHA Summer in Chicago 2007 we are previewing our new CRICUT DESIGNSTUDIO (USB technology)
Cricut DesignStudio is a new software program that allows you to explore, design, and cut your own customized Cricut designs.
Cricut DesignStudio is a natural add-on to any Cricut machine or cartridge sale. It allows you to explore the font and shape sets in the cartridge collection.
Cricut DesignStudio opens the door to undiscovered Cricut possibilities with the simple click of a mouse. This exciting software is a welcome addition to the trusted Cricut brand. It is easy to install and use and allows you a fun new way to explore your creativity. Using an onscreen cutting mat, you can create your own unique mat layout. What you see on your computer screen is what the Cricut machine cuts.
Cricut DesignStudio allows users to explore and create cutting designs using any of the thousands of letters, shapes, and phrases found in the Cricut cartridge library. Using keywords, customers can quickly find what they’re looking for. This gives customers hands-on experience with all of the Cricut cartridge content before purchasing or cutting.
This innovative software brings the Cricut designs to your own craft studio, letting you transform cutting layouts by reorganizing, rotating, resizing, skewing, and welding the letters, shapes, and phrases found on any of the Cricut cartridges. Layouts can be easily saved and shared with friends.
Provo Craft Cricut DesignStudio allows you to select your cutting options directly within the program. To cut your designs, simply insert the Cricut cartridge(s) into their machine and press cut. It’s that easy!
Provo Craft will be providing the Cricut DesignStudio software in a special bonus pack. This includes a specially designed 10-foot Cricut connection cable, a cricut mouse pad, and a Getting Started guide.
No Release date yet but we hope to know one soon! YAY! It's coming!

I've stopped reading over there today. They're irritating the crud out of me. Boo hoo, poor me, I have all boys etc. There are so many carts available, most of which I don't have that I'm okay with only 2 releases! Lets me catch up a bit on a tight budget (besides I just saw CHA released for American Crafts.... drool drool)

:thumbsup2 This new info on the USB port is very cool. I really like the idea of welding the words and being able to rotate the image. Very cool. I wish the posters on the Cricut board would get over their boohooing already.

Yippee!! I'm so glad to see this! I can access the Cricut board at work, but not this one. I saw all of their "unhappiness" over the 2 Princess Carts (which I'm very excited about), and I wondered if they would do anything with the USB. YAY!!

Oh my my my friends. I'm home.
I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one fed up with the whining and complaining.
I finally posted to the thread about "anybody happy about the new releases" or whatever it was called. I'm RebPro, check it out on page 3. :D
I'm ecstatic about the new releases. I'm happy with what I get.
I'm sure more software will come out as time goes by. :)

figures it's not for Mac users just like the wishblade. Guess I'm a second class citizen. Sorry but that just burns me up!

They seem to have started a thread to list your name if you're a Mac user and would like PC to see just how many mac'ers there are.
There's a new thread out with someone "crying" because there's no boy stuff. Why do I keep going back?
I just saw a post stating the software is set to retail for 89.99, just like the carts do.
Chances are that'll be cheaper other places though.

I was looking for the thread you guys were talking about (never have found it) when I came across a thread asking for the name of the person who keeps the "flakers list". That just seemed a bit "high school-ish" to me. I'm sure it's no fun for a hostess who encounters such a problem, but stuff happens sometimes. Blacklisting swappers just seemed a bit harsh. Am I off on that? I've never failed to come through on a swap, but I'm fairly new here so I've also never hostessed before.

Can't wait for the softwear! That's a good price if it's true. I won't even tell you what my machine embroidery softwear costs. Needless to say it's a lot more.
The whining on the cricut boards gets to me too. I have posted over there, same screen name, but mostly just read.
Any idea on how much this bad boy is going to cost? I can not wait.
S :)
This is what I want to know too!
Of course the other question - WHEN will it be out?
eta: Just read it might be about the cost of a cartridge. How does this sound: DH, if you get this for me for Christmas...I'll NEVER need another cartridge again!
(DH and I have a mutual misunderstanding about our respective hobbies. It really is a don't ask, don't tell kind of policy. We each try to be reasonable in our hobby expenses.)

Here here!!!
It drives me nuts when people are posting - why not this for me and why not that for me! I was reading another dis thread though about ride closures and there was some serious whining there too! Here's to the thankful lack of whiners on the scrapbooking and swap boards:banana: :yay:

Ya know, I stopped going on that board too...just wasn't "friendly"... not like my DISbuds...
I honestly am happy with any Disney cart. Can't wait for a Pooh one too!! The new software sounds great!!! BUT, I have so much trouble with the eyes and little features on the Mickey cart, I can't imagine the sizes on the Princess one. But I will have to get it. After all, I am a princess in my own world princess:
Buffy- you're first rate with us (even if you use a MAC :rotfl2:)

I have to find the name of the thing but have any of you tried the thing ith the sticky on the end and a poker tool on the other end for use in paper piecing? I got some on qvc cause I"m all thumbs and it's really great - it's like a gummy substance on one end and you use that to pick up the teeny tiny pieces.
I'll find the name of it if no one has it.

Can't newer mac users split their hard drive and make part of it run on Windows?
Not the best case, I know, but it would at least get you around the "no Mac" problem... :D
