Just switched my CAA March cruise ressie for a Costco.com ressie...
Anyone ever deal with Costco?
$250 gift card on return from cruise ( American )
instead of the $25.00 stateroom credit offered by CAA.
Same price as CAA too. ( and Disney . com too)
Would love some feedback.

That's good to know. I had no idea that Canadians could book on the US Costco site!

Me either! That's why I'm a little nervous about making SURE I get the $250 card , and that I'm able to use it. I was told I can use it on Costco.com ,or in the US ( we go over to the U.S. alot.)

Your costco membership is good at any costco or price club warehouse. My sister lived in California for years and used thier costco card there all the time. They even bought thier car through costco in the states!

YEP! I know you can go to any Costco in the States( with your card..)
I'm just worried about actually GETTING the card delivered to Canada after the cruise , and being able to use it.You know what I mean? I would love to hear from a Canadian that has booked with them...

Booked with Costco but that was when they could still give a discount rather then a gift card. The service has been very good!

Our cruise last Dec was booked through Costco and it was a huge savings and they were very easy to deal with and very very prompt with communications. The giftcard for costco.com was nice to.

Do you have to call to get pricing? Is there any way to get a price online?
Does anyone know how much ($ giftcard) they would give for a 4-day cruise?
Thanks

How did you use your gift card? Did you use it online? We are concerned about shipping/customs costs.

F4disneyfan....
Thanks so much for your reply.
Costco did not offer any savings for our March Cruise... and CAA didn't either ( it was the same as Disney online).
It was the $250 gift card that sold us....
I'm wondering what kind of deal you got , and if you booked last minute or early....I thought Costco would have been cheaper ...
Dragnfly ....
I booked two rooms and receive a $250 card three weeks after the cruise. I assume it's $125 a stateroom?
You do have to wait on the line for a while when booking, but they are great to deal with.

We booked early at about a year out and the discount was about 200 per room which was nice. I think we booked as soon as the booking window opened for our dates or within a week of it anyhow. Hope that helps.

I was just in a Cosco in Edmonton the other day asking the same question about being able to use the gift card from Costco travel. The manager assured me it could be used in the stores here in Canada. They just perform the currency conversion at the till, it sounds like a great deal!

Sorry , he might be mistaken....
At least someone is. The Costco TA was sure that Canadians can NOT use the card in Canada, only on Costco.com and in the US. She made sure I understood that before booking.
That is what I was told.
Anyone else?

RE:Gift Card. I emailed Costco corporate about the gift card as I've been told by several different TAs at Costco that 1) I as a Canadian could use it in Canada, and 2) No I cannot (which is what website says). I received a very badly worded email from them, stating that they don't know, so they have sent my question to Costco Travel Agency corporate office - that was over 2 weeks ago, and haven't heard a thing since.
RE: Costco Discount - Disney doesn't allow anyone else to discount cruises anymore. You will get the same prices wherever you call (unless travel agency has booked a group cruise). The promos will differ, as these are given by the travel agency - if you book through DCL first, and then transfer booking to Costco, you'll get Disney's onboard credit, plus, Costco gift card.
Hope this helps, Tiger :)

I was wondering the same thing. OP's sig says they're going on the Disney Wonder, making me think it's a 4-night cruise... but it could be a special cruise, so I don't know for sure. $250 for a 4-night cruise is pretty darn impressive.

I booked a 3 night .....
but I booked two catagory 10 staterooms.
Not sure if the gift card is based on the rooms ( $125.00 per room??)
or if It's a percentage of the total price ( $3119.00).
You'll have to ask Costco.
I also booked with Disney first , got a $50 stateroom credit, then transfered to Costco for the giftcard. Thanks to info from the DIS!!!

I'm thinking of doing the same thing but with Sam's Club. They will give a $200 gift card for certain cruises over $2000 (they have a chart showing levels of gift card bonus) , so my 4-day qualifies . . . . now to find someone who has experience with this to hear feeback :surfweb:

Where abouts can I find information about this? I couldn't find any information on the gift card bonus on the Sam's Club site. Assuming you'd be booking with Sam's Club in the U.S., are the gift cards limited to use in the U.S. also?

Try this page to search for Disney cruises with the bonus gift card.

There's also the call-in special of up to $100 but I haven't investigated this further yet.
Here are the terms for the card use . . . not in Canada:sad2: but I live close the the US, so I shop there often.
