What was I so worried about?

I bit the bullet today and decided to use my Cricut to make icon tags for autographs on our upcoming trip. I used it one other time (owned it since May), and that first foray was a frustrating experience. I haven't been in a hurry since to try it.

Anyway, I decided that TODAY was THE day. I set it up, put in the Mickey and Friends cartridge, cut some 12 x 12 paper down to 6 x 12, and off I went. It was a BLAST!!! I don't know what was wrong with me that first day, but I'm OVER it.

I cut several different tags for Mickey, Minnie, Chip, and Dale since our character meals likely have us with them more than one time. I also did some for Goofy, Pluto, Donald, and Daisy (I've never seen Daisy at WDW but I knew if I didn't cut one, we'd see her:rotfl2: ). I wish they had a Pooh and Friends and a Princess cartridge!

So, for those of you who saw my post a few days ago about being intimidated by my bug, I wanted you to know that I have conquered it:). Hmmm, isn't there a sale at AC Moore this week:rotfl: ???

We found Daisy at on Main Street in the town square... closest to the train station but in the flag pole area.(does that make sense?). She's a hoot!!! :)

Good for you!! Way to go! I think I want to make some of those icon tags, too!

We saw Daisy on our last 2 trips in the toontown tents. We also saw her at the front where Nancy is talking about.

I'm with you--I keep hoping they'll announce a Pooh and Friends and/or Princess cartridge! Maybe something will come out at CHA this weekend, but I sort of doubt it. Fingers crossed, though!

For the princesses you could cut out a crown - i think paper pup, celebrations and Alphalicious has one
for pooh: walk in my garden has a bee and a beehive
for eyore you could use a rain cloud: paper pups
for snow white: an apple (my community, and doodlecharms)
for cinderalla: a shoe (use minnie's and add sparkle to it)
for alice in wonderland and the queen of hearts: big heart from george
for white rabbit - a watch (my community)
cruella deville - one of the dogs from paperpups or the bone from pluto
Pluto - his bone
Belle - a book (my community)
arriel (a fork :lmao: from going places) or seahorse or sandcastle from doodlecharms

I will try to think of more -
this is fun! I think i will have to make one for myself for my october disney trip (we are taking 11 adults with mental retardation, its going to be so fun)

Thanks for the great ideas, Jennifer! I had thought about finding simple coloring pages and sizing them down (twice to get a shadow) and then cutting the outline of the character for them to sign on. I'll have to look at some of the ones you suggested, too! :thumbsup2

Yes, I'll have to get this one! But, I thought CHA was Friday?? For some reason, I thought it was the same day as Harry Potter (though HP's at midnight).

*one of the bugs or the jar from doodlecharms for Flick
*Big bowties from the baby on NA or Doodlecharms for tweedle dee and tweedle dum
*Cell phone or ipod from my world for kim possible and ron stopable
*the little "hat" from the thanksgiving turkey on doodlecharms cut it really big and it could be a chef hat for any of the characters at chef mickeys or Remy the rat from the new rat movie i wont even attempt to spell :lmao:
*a big star for the fairygod mother
*a big flower for clarice (chip and dales friend, the girl chipmunk) my bother says she looks like dale dressed in drag:scared1:
*The fox from my community for brer fox
*a star (or horse head) for woody
*a star for Buzz
*a big flower or surf board shape for lieo and stich

what could you use for the little einestines or jojo? Mr. Smee and Capt. Hook?
this is fun trying to think what would be good for each ot the characters. Ok my brain is fried! thats all the creativity you can get out of me tonight. A little coffee - some reality tv (hells kitchen) and some quite "ME time" and i will be good to go! (maybe even throw in some chocolate!!!)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I can't wait!! I hope the Cricut boards have some good sneak peeks on Friday. I will need a pick me up after work on Thursday (crazy's at work, stuff hitting the fan that day)!!! BUT, with all these ideas floating around this thread, i might just have to conquer my fears and give it a shot. i'm buying all these cartridges and don't even know how to use the darn thing....... i know, it's terrible. i'll go hang my head in shame now.......

Okay, that's it, I am coming over right now. Once you use that bug, your fears will be gone. Not to do the belittling thing I hear some parents use, but my NINE year old is having a blast with it. If I will let him near it, it must be easy and durable.

Yep, it is easy and FUN! I am always looking for excuses just to use it. And not to belittle either, but just to let you know how easy it is- my 7 year old can use it (in fact she's usually bossing me around about it)!!

PO3 - My BF made me a scrapbook for our 2 year anniversary. He was able to use my bug with no problems (and he even cleaned my mats!). He did titles (and shadows!). The only thing he used M&F for was to cut out "Disney" in the script font. but he did a wonderful job.
