Hi All!

I am starting my weight loss journey again today and thought that I could use some friendly help. It's always easier with a buddy, right?

Please join me for group motivation, advice, diet and exercise tips and also to plain old vent!!! :) Check in daily, weekly, whenever to share your stories with us.

First off, let me tell you my goals:

1. I would like to lose 25 pounds before my next trip to Disney
2. I would like to have a healthier lifestyle
***I am sure this list will grow. I do not want to spend too much time right now since I want to get on the treadmill!!! :)

Thanks for checking out this thread. If there is anything I can do to improve it, please let me know.

I wish all of you the BEST!

Well, let me start with what my goals are for the day:

Treadmill for at least 20 minutes

Drink more water (trying for 64 oz)

Cut back on portions a bit

Breakfast was good. Had a cup of coffee with low fat milk, a slice of wheat toast with a smear of peanut butter. I'll have a banana in a little while for snack.

2. Remember to take my Alli at EVERY meal.

4. Continue "helathy-izing" our menu.

Thanks for the thread Lauren- it's just wrong in every weigh(get it, way hahahah) to be talking diet on the What's for Dinner thread.:sad2:

You got that right!!! Did you see what we are having for dinner...fattening manicotti with meatballs and sausage...

moderation right???!!!! ;)

I think I may look into the Alli...I just want to see about my thyroid first.

For those of you who do not know me, I am in the process of finding out what is wrong with my thyroid...fun fun!!!

I'd love to join in. I've lost 19 lbs since May, I need to lose another 30. I truly had no clue I was so overweight, but I'm glad I'm getting it under control before it could get worse.

I don't have a real diet plan. I eat lean cuisine panninis or pizzas for lunch & portion control my dinner. I try to stay around 1200 - 1500 cal. a day. I also try to walk for about an hour a day & do yoga / pilates once a day.

I seem to be losing more inches than pounds, I'm assuming that I am gaining muscle. The numbers don't matter as much as what I see in the mirror anyways. :)

I'm in, too!

1. I would like to lose 40-45 lbs. over all, but I'd really like to lose 10 before my next Disney trip (which is in a month!)

2. Count me in on the losing inches and FEET! :rotfl:

3. I would like to stop eating at night. I get home from work or grad school at 9:30 and I always want to snack. I will have to limit myself to tea, 0 point veggie soup or salad then, since I know having nothing will just make me crave it more!

4. I also want to work out more. I work at a gym so I get at least 2 workouts in a week, but I need to do more. I want to start walking on days I don't work late (Friday, Sat and Sun)

It's nice to meet my other feet dropping friend weight loss helpers!:dance3:

Today:

I had Life cereal and skim milk for breakfast and a piece of fruit for a snack. I will be ordering something for dinner during my class, so I don't want to have too much before then, but I think I will probably heat up a Lean Pocket or make a salad. So far only three cups of water, so I need to have more. :)

Hi LuLu, so happy you joined us! I was a big time snacker at night. I pretty much broke the habit but now eat too much during the day...;) . I really like smacking on popcorn, sugar free jello (0 pts) and low fat pudding. Skinny Cow ice cream pops are also good. On a bad night, we'll make PB&Js...no more bad nights for me!!!

My goals are:

1. Move more ... exercise at least 3 times a week and bike or hike for fun :yay:

2. Eat portioned meals at least 3 times a day ( I have a habit of skipping meals and then eating more to make up for it) popcorn::

3. Drink at least 2 quarts of water :drinking:

4. Log in at SparkPeople and get points :surfweb:

5. Post on the boards to encourage others, and myself :goodvibes

I am motivated right now as I want to get in better shape before our trip to Hawaii in September. I want to be ready to hike Diamond Head when we get there.

Thanks again for joining!Lauren- DH found a PB substitue the last time we went to the grocery. Not as good as the real thing, but it's not bad either. It's made with peanut flour? instead of the whole peanut. I'll bring it down tomorrow so I have the name.

And dinner.....load up your normal portions and then put half in a tupperware in the fridge BEFORE you sit down. After you eat (and drink more water) you can go back and get more if you're still really hungry. I also added vegetable broth to my snacks list. I heat up 1/2c in a mug for my evening snack. Fills me up!

I like your idea about putting half away before I sit down...problem is...I serve family style which can be a problem...I may stop doing this for a start.

I also like the veggie broth idea...kinda like the weight watchers soup.

Thanks!

Lori - I like your suggestion about plating 1/2 of what I would normally. It worked well for me tonight - DH ate the other half of the fish although I did eat all of the steamed veggies and probably more couscous than I should have.

I did go to the gym tonight on the way home and I have one more glass of water to drink tonight. So far, I've not eaten any of the cake. In case I was craving something sweet, I bought myself some of those 100 calorie skinny cow chocolate ice cream patties (or whatever you call them).

Thank you, Lauren!

Those are great snacks- I love popcorn, so high in fiber :)! I also like to have fruit out in the basket instead of the fridge, if I see it, I'm more likely to choose it. Any *bad* treats are as hidden as possible. I have a friend who keeps bags of candy in her car, so if she wants a piece she has to go all the way out to the car to get it, she can't keep putting her hand in the bag.

Someone mentioned veggie broth/ww soup - that is a great idea. There are lots of 1 pt/low cal soups you can make, too. I make a hot and sour soup that is like that, very low in cals/pts. and since it's warm, it's filling. I also love cooking spinach or escarole with garlic and then chicken broth. That is delicious! I sometimes add white beans or carrots, sometimes not.

Anything you can make easy to grab is a plus. I love baby carrots and I love to wash a whole bunch of celery and cut it up into sticks and put into a bag so it's easy to grab. I also buy diced frozen onions and peppers to toss into recipes or eggs/egg white omelets. One of my favorite breakfasts is an egg white omelet with bacon bits, onion, pepper and a slice of 2% American cheese!

I hope everyone did well today!

I had cereal with skim milk for breakfast, a nectarine for a snack, a lean pocket for lunch, a slice of pizza (just one, yay!) for dinner, a slice of my raspberry tart for dessert and a peach for bedtime. I want to do more veggies tomorrow.

Is the hot and sour listed on the WFDboard? I love that!

I hate it when I hurt myself and have to put the gym on hold once I have gotten into the routine. I have no willpower and I takes me forever to get back into it after I am healed.

Hello everyone!
May i just share a delicious recipe from Weight Watchers. I love Caesar salad and last night i made their 2pt a serving version..and WOW..it was delicious..here is the recipe in case you want it!

(servings2, 2 pts each)
( i actually used more lettuce i think and it stretched it out more)

1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp olive oil
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 medium garlic clove(s)
4 cup romaine lettuce
2 average anchovies canned in oil, drained
1 tsp Dijon mustard ( i ommited this , didn't have it)
1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
2 Tbsp water

1. Combine all ingredients, except lettuce, in a blender or food processor; purée until blended. (Note: Omit the anchovies if you do not like their flavor.)

2. Place lettuce leaves in a large bowl and toss with dressing until well coated. Yields about 2 cups per serving.

YUM! i also shaved a bit of extra parm. on top for presentation and taste!

Actually the couscous is one of the best starches you can eat! I just bought a big canister of it cause it's low in fat and calories.

Last night I was Bad.:sad2: Lamb was on sale and calling to me....so I had pan seared lamb and a bag of steamed veggies. Oh fatty, fat, fat....:sad2:

Hi, guys!

I'm running low on time today, but I wanted to say that everyone's doing a good job!

The hot and sour soup is on the WFD thread, but it's the original recipe. I modified it to make it lower in calories/points (used egg whites instead of eggs and eliminated the sausage, was generous with no point veggies.) I wil lpost the modified recipe later on. It really comes out delicious!

I hope everyone's doing well today. I set up my pedometer. So far I am at a paltry 215 steps, but it's early. :)

Don't quote me on this but when WW says 0 points it is 0 - 60 calories....60 - probably 120 = 1 point, etc. I think for my weight, I would be limited to 26 points a day, plus 35 play with points per week.

I hope this makes sense. My #s are probably off a bit too. HTH

It's a super morning here guys! I woke up to the scale saying 169.4.

I haven't seen the 160's in a while. I know they say not to way everyday but I do anyways. I think it keeps me on track & focused. I understand that my weight can fluctuate & that at times I may retain fluid, but I LOVE the excitement of seeing new numbers!

Today I plan to enjoy a Lean Cuisine mushroom pizza for lunch & have no clue what I will make for dinner. I hope to walk twice today, 30 minutes each time. I'm also going to go through the kitchen cabinets & just thinking about it makes me sweat so it's gotta count for something right? :lmao:

Have another great day everyone!

I do the same thing. It does help keep me honest with myself in my food choices and the consequences.

Last night I had a low-fat version of a Royal Chicken recipe posted on the WFD thread. I subbed fat-free half and half for the whipping cream, used an olive oil flavored cooking spray instead of the olive oil, used light butter instead of the butter, and used low-fat cream of chicken. It was wonderful and we are having the left overs tonight.

No exercise for me yesterday but I have my gym bag packed and planning on going tonight after work.

Good luck today everybody!

No exercise for me yesterday but I have my gym bag packed and planning on going tonight after work.

Good luck today everybody!

OKWMom and MagicalMom, at Curves (where I work part time) they actually like you to weigh every day, esp. on maintenance, partly for the reasons you mention. :)

I am busy doing my grad school work this morning, so all I've had so far is a cup of coffee and a cup of kashi good friends cereal with a cup of skim milk (I put some in my coffee and the rest in the cereal).

When I'm done, I'll have lunch as a reward.

I am also starting to count steps on my pedometer. I got up to 6726 yesterday, which is not exactly the 10000 they want a day, but today I am hoping to do better. :)

It's a super morning here guys! I woke up to the scale saying 169.4.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Great Job! I tend to weigh myself more too...:) I understand about the cabinets. I could clean/organize every cabinet/closet for a year and still not be done. Its alot of work!!!

Last night I had a low-fat version of a Royal Chicken recipe posted on the WFD thread. Great job!!!

I started back on the food journal today. So far South Beach Wrap kit and a diet coke. Water to start.

I finished my book last night and I'm sewing costumes for Friday night, but I'm hoping for some cardio tonight!:yay: Prolly when my hands start cramping from sewing. yea, that's the ticket! ;)

I need to start a journal. It really helps. What is the ocassion for the costume??? :) :) :)

Well, yesterday and today I am not being as good as I should but not as bad as I was...:rotfl: I did get on the scale this AM and lost a pound. I think my "Official Weigh In" will be Friday.

I was running around doing errands all day and went for another Thyroid test and just got home so I need to clean up and put stuff away. We are going to Vermont this weekend for my brother's 50th bday. I bought all stuff to put a BBQ gift basket together. I am really excited.

So, my goals for the rest of the day are: drink my water, exercise for at least 20 minutes (my ankle is still bothering me) and eat a low fat dinner. I am making Gretchen's (OKWMom) pork from last week...I can't remember the name. I can't wait!

Have a great night all!

I weigh almost everyday too. I think just to frustrate myself sometimes. But I do LOVE the feeling when it's down further than it's been in awhile!

The costumes are for the Harry Potter release party Friday night at midnight. I've never been and never asked Dh to go- but I did this time. He said since it's the last book- Let's go a BOTH of us dress up! So I'm making him a Hagrid outfit and I haven't decided for me. I just can't seem to get creative for mine. So my fallback is black fabric to make robes and go as a generic Griffindor. Hopefully I can come up with something original though.

I have done well since Monday except I did not exercise last night. After 30 minutes on the elliptical Monday & Tuesday my calves needed a break! i love weight watchers!! I am on that as well. About 4 years ago I did WW for the first time, just at home, not online or with meetings, and lost about 18 lbs..i was psyched. I kept it off for a long time too until I had surgery and became lazy and depressed..i would still dabble in the counting of pts but nothing serious..hence the need to lose 40 lbs now! ah well. But i just re-joined about 2 months ago and i really think its a great program. The online tools are FANTASTIC and a great way ( i think) to be acountable and keep track of points..wheeee!! Not that i am an expert, but if you have any pt related questions or anything..ask away, i have learned alot over the years.

Congrats! That is wonderful.

I did really well yesterday, and I made it to the gym last night. However, last night I started my late night grazing habit. I ate three small handfuls of cashew pieces. I know they are loaded with fat and calories, but I was craving salty and I love those things.

The cake has been sitting on the counter since Sunday and I haven't had a problem avoiding that. I can't get rid of the cashews since my daughter loves them. Maybe I should get my husband to hide them?!? :sad2:

I would love to join your group.

I've been overweight/obese my whole freakin life and I'm sick of it.

In 1996, I did lose 50 pounds by eating right and exercising. I gained about half of that back by last year and lost it again.

I need to lose about 50 more pounds. I started trying again in mid January and I've lost about 12 pounds. I do have a thyroid problem, so I have to try extra hard.

I also just read recently, in Dr. Oz's book, that if you are taking certain blood pressure pills (beta-blockers) that it is VERY hard to lose weight. So, of course, I happen to be taking a beta-blocker for my high blood pressure.

I always try to eat healthy, I just EAT TOO MUCH. I have to try to reduce my portions. I make it a point to eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies and I never eat fast food (maybe once or twice per year).

I just started exercising again. Not that much, but it's something.

So far, I've lost 3.1 pounds in the month of July (I'm trying for 7 pounds this month). That's my mini-goal.

My long-term goal is to lose 60 pounds by August 2008. It will be very tough, but I'll give it my all.

Good luck to all of us.

1. Drink at least 2 water bottles a day (unsure of size!)
2. Walk 30min. a day
3. Don't be tempted by office food... welll I can be tempted...I just can't eat it...:cutie:

Thats it for this weeks goals. I'm lucky and get a 1hr long lunch break and I have a large lake outside of the office so my goal is to walk around it once a lunch... about 30 minutes.... Sound good so far?

Mini goals are good. If I put too much pressure on myself and the pounds don't come off quick enought then I just give up. So my mini goal is 20 lbs by September. Then when I reach that I will set another mini goal for myself. Say another 20 by December.

Magical don't beat yourself up we all have those days as a matter of fact yesterday was mine. We had a work picnic so I cheated a little. I just couldn't resist the strawberry shortcake but I ate lots of salad so that zeros out the calories in the dessert right?! :lmao: Got back on track with dinner.

WW is a great program!!! I joined about 5 months ago, and am ALMOST to goal! My goal was to lose 11 pounds(I was not that overweight to begin with). I have lost 10, but that last stubborn pound will NOT come off! I have been stuck for 4 weeks at my current weight. But.....giving up is not an option! :goodvibes I have come so far and have not been this weight since a few years before both of my kids were born(back in the mid 90's). Along with weight loss, I have lost 4% of my body fat. I am feeling pretty good now. My goals for the near future are these:

1) To eat more salads
2) To eat more fruit as snacks
3) Not to eat late at night
4) Try to move after dinner by taking a walk

WW is truly amazing and I wish you luck with the program!!!!:wizard:

Yesterday I did pretty well. I got a little bit of exercise in, not as much as I would have liked, but at least it was some.

Last night for dinner, I made rigatoni and meatballs. I didn't use that much olive oil for the sauce and I used a very lean meat. I was starving, BUT, I only had a small portion of the pasta, 2 meatballs and some salad (very little olive oil). I drank seltzer. I was proud of myself that I didn't have any bread or eat alot of the pasta. I also stayed away from ricotta (which I love to put on top of pasta). That was it for the whole evening.

This morning's breakfast was:

Kashi cereal with 1/2 banana, some blueberries & 1% milk.

6 oz of OJ (with calcium added)

Coffee with 1% milk.

Lunch will be:

2 slices of whole grain bread with 2 hard boiled eggs (Eggland's Best with the added omega 3's and less saturated fat).

2 cups of honeydew.

6 oz of OJ (with calcium added).

I will drink tea during the day (plain, without milk and sugar) and I ALWAYS drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

If I am hungry during the afternoon I will have a handful of almonds.

Not sure what dinner is going to be.

I will try to get my exercise in.

I have found "going off the wagon" a little when eating out hasn't hurt me too much if I have made good choices the rest of the week. I weigh every day and the morning after a "Bad" day may add .5 to the scale. But we don't want you discouraged at weigh in, so do what you think is best.

It can be so discouraging to work so hard but wait so long to see the results. I worked a 12 hour shift today. Drove an hour there & an hour home. Came home & walked for 1/2 an hour & then did jumping jacks. I'm debating whether or not to do 20 minutes on the stepper before heading to bed. I just wonder, will it really matter? It seems that whether I work out for an hour or 1/2 an hour the results are the same. I'd just love to be one of those people who can lose 5 lbs in a week.

Try not to get discouraged. I don't remember where I heard it, but it takes a woman 6 months to change her metabolism. So it is slowly, but by doing all the exercise, you are changing your metabolism which will help in lots of ways.

I'm not a 5 lb a week girl either. I'm usually a 1 lb-2 lb/week person. But even if you lose it 1 lb per week, you would be 52 lbs lighter in one year. I know that isn't much comfort, but I have to keep telling myself that when the scale moves so little for me. Keep up your spirits. :cheer2:

Yesterday I did really well. I had an apple, a bag of low fat popcorn, and a huge salad with boiled shrimp and low fat dressing. We are supposed to eat out tonight, so I'll see how I do when faced with the yummy fattening choices in the restaurant.

Those days of losing 5 pounds per week are definitely over for me. Between my age, underactive thyroid and being on a beta-blocker for high blood pressure, I have a really hard time losing weight.

I was so sure I lost alot of weight this week, but I lost less than 1/2 pound. So far for the month of July I've lost 3 1/2 pounds. I had a mini goal of 7 pounds for the month of July, but I don't think that will happen.

On the positive side, I had a good weekend. I ate well and I was active, so I feel good. I am really going to try extra hard this week, so I can at least be close to my goal.

That is a wonderful outlook. And your scale is moving in the right direction, even if it is much slower than you would like. So you are being successful.

Yesterday was diet disaster for me. I did really well during the day, but did not do so well at dinner out with DH. We went to a fondue restaurant and did the whole thing, cheese appetizer, food cooked in oil and white chocolate with fruit and cake for dessert. :sad2: So much for self control. However, my body was not at all happy with last night's meal and I paid very dearly for it. As my husband said to me around 5 this morning when my face was gray and I felt terrible "That must be what that new diet pill does to the folks who cheat." If so, I can see why the pill works, it wouldn't take more than one episode to keep me honest with the fat count.

I can honestly say I don't think I will have a hard time regulating my eating today. :rolleyes1 I hope I feel well enough to make it to the gym.

Have a wonderful and healthy day everyone!

I was hoping for more but I was pleased. I did not do that well over the weekend. Not terribly, I was not so strict though and I think I didn't lose as much as I could have.

Yesterday was much better.

Everyone is doing so well. Keep it up.

I didn't feel well enough to go to the gym yesterday, but I'm feeling better today so I have my bag packed and plan on working out tonight. I didn't have any trouble staying on track with my eating yesterday since my tummy felt so off, but now that I'm feeling better, I hope can do as well today.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning, I plan on doing good today. I just did 33 minutes on the treadmill and had coffee, a lite english muffin with a smear of peanut butter this moring and now I am having a glass of water and banana.

Tonight I am making meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn. I am going to alter my meatloaf to be lower fat (using egg whites and oatmeal). The potatoes are the boxed kind so I'll see what that entails.

We are joining WW tonight. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks again for all of the support. I really feel like this thread is motviating me...

How about you guys??? :goodvibes

I'm too scared to start a weigh-in day... I know I should pick a day...but geezz....an offical weigh-in day terrifies me...does everyone have an offical day? Or do some people just judge by their clothes? Is that strange?

Here to meeting our goals!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I did set my weight in day for Fri but we are weighing in at WW tonight so I guess I'll change my day. Its just easier to keep track if you set a date...maybe you can do every 2 weeks. I guess weighing weekly keeps my honest!!! ;)

Welcome to all our new posters! I am glad to see others following WW. I am trying to sell BF on doing it with me, but he wanted to wait until the weekend to hear about it. (Too much info processing, I guess, lol)

Did you get him to join? :)

I trying to follow WW since I think that is the easiest. I drank my water today yeh me. Drinking water is as much of a struggle and exercise with me.

I hate drinking water too. I tend to drink it fast to get it over with...

I lost 2 lbs :cool1: and I didn't think I lost anything. :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a great day I'll try to check in later before my nose become one with my new book.

Yeah Janice!!! :yay:

It can be so discouraging to work so hard but wait so long to see the results. I worked a 12 hour shift today. Drove an hour there & an hour home. Came home & walked for 1/2 an hour & then did jumping jacks. I'm debating whether or not to do 20 minutes on the stepper before heading to bed. I just wonder, will it really matter? It seems that whether I work out for an hour or 1/2 an hour the results are the same. I'd just love to be one of those people who can lose 5 lbs in a week.

I know I'm late on this response but I think you did enough for the day...you need to relax too and you did exercise so be done!!! ;)

Hello it's your happy plumpy Disneygal here. :wave2:

I hope that it's ok for me to join! I am a lurker....but time to engage!
Beth

Welcome!!!

Those days of losing 5 pounds per week are definitely over for me. Between my age, underactive thyroid and being on a beta-blocker for high blood pressure, I have a really hard time losing weight.
On the positive side, I had a good weekend. I ate well and I was active, so I feel good. I am really going to try extra hard this week, so I can at least be close to my goal.

I don't think I can be a 5# loser anymore either. I am in the process of finding out what is wrong with my thyroid (I have an endocrinologist appt on Thurs).

Good morning! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Yesterday I went a little off. We saw Harry Potter I had to have popcorn. I did have a salad for lunch and drank my water. So hopefully I still am on target.

I can never pass up the popcorn!!!

wow 2.5 lbs in a week would be a dream to me! The only time i lost that much was the weigh in after disney..where i knew my regular eating would get that "mouse house" weight off....good job to you!

i have weigh in tonight, and as always, am nervous about it. i did MUCH MUCH better with the exercising this week but i was still over the amount of flex points by quite a few...so we'll see...have a great day everyone..drink your water! :)

So far, this week I've been eating pretty well. I just need to exercise more. By the time I get home, cook, clean up and do some chores, I'm too lazy to exercise.

I work 3 blocks from my home, so I walk. I have been trying to make a habit out of walking 5 or 6 blocks out of the way before work so I get a little more exercise in.

This morning I decided to kick it up a notch, and even though I only had 10 minutes to get to work, I walked very, very fast for the full 10 minutes. I did arrive at work sweating, but so what. I cooled off soon enough.

I figure every little bit helps.

Just a quick check in today. I've dropped 5 lbs since the last "official" weigh in. Let's see if I can keep it off for a week and I'll call it officially lost. That'll make 10 lbs down since I started on the Alli.

I've been watching fat/cal intake, drinking less soda, more crystal light. I need to work on the exercise- I'm just so wiped by the time I get home! I think I'm suffering from some anemia(I cut my red meat intake by prolly 75%) so I'm getting an iron supplement to go with my vitamin. I've got so many bruises now I look like a dalmatian!:lmao:

Lauren- I finally remembered the fakey peanut butter stuff! It's Better'n Peanut Butter. www.betternpeanutbutter.com 2Tbsp serving has 100 cal, 2.5g fat. Dairy free, gluten free- no sat fat, no trans fat, no cholesterol, no preservatives. And only 2 WW points(per website).

Kinda weird when you first taste it but it reminds me of nutella only a little less chocolatey.

Doing better this morning. I had 1 egg, onion, slice of light cheese and some blueberries.

You know what's odd? I've been dieting since the end of April. At first I had to learn to live with the hunger. Now I have to remind myself to eat more. If I'm not careful or really super busy I've had days were I've realized that I have only had a couple of lean cuisines & a granola bar in a day. That's only about 700 cal. I have to remind myself daily to add healthy snacks to my diet. Anyone else have this problem?

Some of my days are like that! Just not enough of them yet.....:rolleyes1

:lmao: Well, I don't buy potato chips. I haven't had one in months. I just know if I tasted one that would be all she wrote. I could probably down a bag in a day. :rotfl:

I haven't posted here because I have been really bad with the diet. Lots of things have come up in the last couple of weeks that had me really stressed and I am a comfort eater, and well, you get the picture. I was too ashamed to tell everyone that I have actually gained 4 pounds. :guilty: I'm trying to get back on track and I sincerely hope I am successful.

Don't be ashamed we all have days or weeks like this. This week might not be one of my stellar times. I have pringles staring at me yes they can stare :rotfl: I have to get rid of the buggers tomorrow. I think in fact I'll go put them in the car right now. I know I won't go out to get them later in my Jammies :guilty:.

Hi! I went to my first WW meeting last week since I have joined and lost 2#s...it was slow but I guess I am BBQing, etc too much this summer!!! :) I have been doing the treadmill though...

How are you doing?

I was doing so well then the dreaded "time" came and I ate just about anything and everything that wasn't tied down. Need I say I gained 2 lbs I'm so weak. I have 4 weeks and a little to spare to get to disney weight. I do not want to diet while I'm there. I want to be able to enjoy myself but not go overboard.

This is a restart of my dieting.

2#s is not bad...it could be water weight too. It is just so dang hard!!! I just don't want to feel so bloated when I go to Disney.

We can do it!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I just came back from my Vegas vacation and I ate like a pig. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. I haven't weighed myself yet. I usually weigh in on Saturdays, so hopefully when I weigh myself on Saturday it won't be too bad.

I have to get strict again. I have a wedding in about 3 weeks and I want to look "decent".

I know it is so hard to stay on a diet when you are vacationing. We ate a lot on our vacation but it must have average out with all of the walking & swimming we did. You never know, you may not have gained anything. :)

Yes, tomorrow is another day...at least it didn't go up, right?

Speaking of chocolate, I just found a low fat dessert with chocolate pudding...its called Grandma's Famous Dessert.

1 prepared angel food cake - torn in pieces
1 large box of instant chocolate pudding - prepared with skim milk (do not let this set)
1 tub low fat cool whip

Place torn cake pieces in a large deep pan. Pour pudding mixture over the cake to saturate. Cover with cool whip.

I cannot wait to try this...!

OK, it's been one week since I've returned from my Vegas vacation and I mustered enough courage to weigh myself. I gained a little over 3 pounds since before my vacation.

Another reason I weighed myself today is because I have a $50 (2 week) bet with my daughter on who can lose the most weight. To me it's a win-win situation. I don't mind losing to her if she can get her weight loss started. Wish us both good luck!!!

Ok after my little backwards movement I've gained anything just not lost either. It been raining to much here so that's my excuse for not being outside.

I still have about a month to go till my trip so I'm not getting discouraged yet. I hope to do better this week.

I'm still walking somewhat, but I haven't been exercising. I am getting out early from work today, so I'll try to fit in some exercise. Eating wise, I'm doing well. Tomorrow I will weigh myself and I'll keep everyone posted. Have a happy and safe weekend (and try to eat well!).

Congrats!!! I finally lost 5 pounds last week. I haven't lost 5 pounds in one week in many, many years. I have a really hard time losing weight with my thyroid problem (even though I am on meds). I'm also on beta-blockers because of my high blood pressure and that's a metabolism killer!!!

Anyway, I'm just trying to eat right and be more active. I hope I can keep this up.

Hi Kim!

Welcome! What I find motivates me is setting goals. I have joined a couple challenges here on the WISH board (exercise challenge, biggest loser) and they really help. My Disney trip is a motivator too! ;)

Drink water too! It really helps!

What works for me is to just get up and walk whether I feel like it or not. If I waited for me to feel like it I would never leave the couch. I also grab my son it helps to have a partner. If my son is not home I grab my 4 legged son and take him for a walk. The big goof loves to go for walks. :rotfl:

I think I'm going to get a nice new outfit when I finally hit that number! I'm afraid to buy too many new outfits though because I'm not done losing yet! I made the mistake of buying new underwear a couple months ago & now they are drooping already. :lmao:

That's a great idea. I try to walk at least 15-20 minutes before I get to work (I work only a 5 minute walk away from home). This morning I walked 20 minutes before work AND I just came back from a 20 minute walk that I took after I ate lunch. I feel great! Tomorrow I will weigh myself and see how I'm doing.

I had a very healthy lunch. A whole wheat wrap with chicken breast, tomato, spinach and broccoli sprouts; an apple; unsweetened iced tea.

It's so hard, but I'm trying.
