will DVC stick their toe in the offsite property water again?? Personally, I like the offsite options, and would love to see another one. I've heard they had/sold or were looking at other property in CA, CO and some castle in France. Did slow sales drive the stake in the heart of any future offsites??

I can keep dreaming for a Disney ski resort. :)
And in the summer it can be a golf course. Not for me, but it'll keep it less seasonal! :)

Although I'd really like to see a DVC property at the Disneyland Resort, I can't see it happening. I think that a lot of current members would want to stay there, but it would be a hard sell for a home resort. Look at how much they've had to discount admission prices for Southern California residents just to get people to visit. With only two parks and Downtown Disney, it's hard to come up with a weeks worth of Disney activities.

Disney has been selling Hilton Head and Vero Beach for over 5 years and they still are not sold out. Compare that to the sell out of the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in approx. 1 year. I don't think you will see another off site (WDW) DVC.

I agree with Dumbo.
I think Disney figured out that their core competency is theme parks and the surrounding experience.
The problem with other off-site time shares is that DVD is directly competing with other time shares. By staying on-site at WDW, they utilize their competitive advantage over other time shares and can sell at a premium.
I don't see any more off-site DVC homes. Just look at the recent news about DI which tells me they are scouring the WDW map for cost effective ways to expand DVC at WDW.

Unfortunately, I agree that off-property DVC resorts probably won't happen. To do it right, Disney would have to commit to becoming a major hotel/timeshare operator. They have wonderful resorts at WDW but you don't see them building hotels in other resort locations. If, sometime in the future, they ever purchased a hotel chain then we might see additional development.
I do very much like the Concierge Collection concept. Not having to commit to a week at a time is a big plus. It would be great if they could continue to expand this program.

I would love to see a DVC in Hawaii, do you think they would have trouble selling out a smaller resort there?? The off sites are a selling feature for DVC, especially for those that have a love/hate relationship with the mouse.:earseek:

I believe DVC will be testing the waters of offsite property again but not in the United States. There are many Disney Friends around the world which would love to become members closer to their homes. Europe and Asia is where you will see the next properties arise. Just Imagine the Possibilities!

It disappoints me to say it, but I agree that they probably will not build another off-site. Any ideas when HH and VB are going to sell out? When we bought at HH they said VB was going to be selling out soon and predicted that HH wouldn't be much later.

I was told yesterday by my guide that they predict HH and VB to both sell out this year. (I think she said this fall but don't quote me on that!)
