We were at the parks this year 7/7 -7/14. It was of course hot, humid, just plan nasty hot. We saw way too much skin!!! People were wearing their bathing suits! When talking with a cast member she told us a lot of guest arrive in clothing then change in the restrooms. They are not suppose to be walking around in bathing suits but it does happen. It was just gross because the people did not have the bodies to go with the suit. The other nasty look were people in the spaghetti strap tank tops that were two sizes too small! Again, it was always people with the body shapes we really don't need to see.

I have always maintained that those that wear the "sexy" swimsuits or clothes SHOULDN'T...... the corollary to that is that those that could (or should :cool1:) ... DON'T! Life's not fair!

Just my $0.02! Keep the stories coming!

A somewhat well-to-do looking young woman changed her baby's poop-filled diaper on the lower deck of the ferry boat one afternoon when the boat was fairly crowded and returning to the TTC from the MK. She dropped the abundantly soiled diaper on the deck and there was poop all over the bench she was sitting on and the immediate area of the lower deck. She acted like nothing had happened and promptly left after the boat had docked at the TTC leaving the mess for the CMs to deal with. The ferry boat had to be shut down - taken off-line - until WDW Custodial could be called and the "protein spill" cleaned up - thus inconveniencing a LOT of people.

Don't these people are BABY WIPES!? Seems logical to me considering they have BABY in the title! These drinking fountains or sinks are NOT secrectly called Baby Butt Washers/Poo Cleaners or Baby Bidets!

You know, after reading a bunch of this...I now recall seeing a news segment about parents who don't want to put diapers on their kids. It showed the parent rinsing their kid in their home sink. I thought, "that is so nasty. Why would anybody want to do that?" But now it occurs to me after reading this thread that maybe that's what y'all encountered encoutered in the park. Parents continuing this in the parks.

Gross and funny at the same time - I saw a man walking towards me at MK with white lycra cycling shorts on. No, it gets worse! He had, how can I say this delicately, err, a rather large bulge at the front but it was all mishapen and knobbly. Now (honestly) I don't make a habit of casting my eyes southward but this was just mesmerising.

As he walked closer the bulge got lower and lower until eventually a pair of socks fell out of the bottom of one of the legs. I double-up laughing and he went very red, took the socks out and walked the other way :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

What made it gross was that it was at the MK!!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I was also wondering why a woman would be washing her chest in a sink:confused: I can understand if something was spilled or something, but to just have them out there and dangling into the sink? Couldn't she just have wet a paper towel or something?

Another time we were walking past Splash, near the drop. Some guy was sitting wearing too short loose shorts and letting his jewels hang out - literally ONTO the pavement. How could you not notice?

Depending on what time of year it was (and thus how hot the pavement was), I can't believe HE didn't notice...

Yeah, the flip side of this is the overdressed anorexics.

Saw one poor soul wearing a sweater in july, all bones. I'm sorry, but it was gross, what she's doing to herself and what she looked like.

One of my kids asked if she was dying. I said, yes.

I did sense a bit of hostility though. I recognize it in myself--yes, I always feel sad for those poor underweight people. Life is tough.

Whoops--sorry for the rant. I'm pooh-sized and admittedly envious of the people who can wear what they want to WDW without being posted about on "grossest things you've seen in the park"!!! Until now, until Kickapoo! :thumbsup2

Um, I meant no hostility, I feel *very* sad when I see these women starving themselves to death. It wasn't supposed to be funny, either, there really was an emaciated woman wearing a sweater in sweltering July heat this last trip. Any extremes from typical body shape are probably unhealthy, I suppose, that's why they draw so much instinctive criticism.

As an overweight person, who has lost over 100#s and worked hard to do that, I say blame Lane Bryant for the awful clothing. Ever notice that when something in a simple style that would look great on a larger person comes out it does NOT come in our size? But guess what, polyester, wild colors and patterned ruffled stuff that is not sized correctly DOES. It is not like very large folks can find appropriate clothing off the rack. Been there, done that. Besides who is to judge? Please send a video of yourself so that we can see your qualifications??

If a person has a smile on their face that is pretty much the only thing I notice. :thumbsup2

Come to think of it I did read a posting on here once about a laundry tip. Seems some folks buy cheap stuff at yardsales and such, wear them to the parks and then discard them thus saving themselves the trouble of packing the stuff back up or washing it. Sounded pretty good to me.

I have seen many older ladies wearing what appeared to be bras to the parks. Usually are wearing white anklets too. Not sure what is up with that but I can deal.:flower3:

THE grossest thing I have ever seen at DW was this. I was doing my laundry and one woman was complaining about her husband when another told her to look outside and imagine if she was married to THAT! A man was sitting on one of the rockers holding his false teeth in his hands and waving them in the air! Naturally it was MY dh.:jester:

I dare say that any one of us, if we watched ourselves on tape, would see many disturbing things that we do on any given day. Granted some more than others though.

Back to doing my scratching now so I will not have to when I am at DW. :rolleyes1

See you soon! Behave now. ;)

I might be able to top the poopy diaper changing stories. How about a mother using the DRINKING FOUNTAIN as a baby bidet to get the poo off her childs bottom????:scared1: That was as bad as they come. I think people were so shocked they couldn't even say anything to stop her. We did let a CM know though.

Oh man! Looks like we will be buying all bottled water. We had planned to just buy a little a refill at the fountains but, I really don't want hepititis. :scared1:

Two things i thought were gross until i read this. Now i think they are v.tame! lol

1. Gross PDA. Couple in line for EE. They face each other as if they were gonna kiss but instead the woman licks his teeth. eww.

2. While waiting to enter Flights of Wonder (?) Bird Show at AK. Little girl, about 8 years old is biting her nails and putting the nail bits in her bro's hair.

Trying to sweat off still more pounds!
(Not realizing that just drinking more water to make up for the dehydration will put that much weight back on.)
She needs to go to Anorexics Anonymous.

I have seen various men's exercise accessories to wrap around the body or a limb (one garment being an oversized cummerbund) meant to "sweat off weight". I had always questioned their usefulness, contending that it was the body, not the clothing, that determined which patch of fat (belly?, arm?, chin?) would be absorbed first as a result of ingesting fewer calories than were demanded by metabolism.

I make it a point not to take observation of things like this, but I had one sight that will always stand out as I found it gross.

I can tell you the basics, but there is more to this, but I have to keep it clean for the Disboards.

I realize people come in all shapes and sizes, and we all have different ideas of what is okay and what isn't, but there are some things that are just not acceptable in public. A woman in her late 50's, about 50 lbs overweight was walking around MK is the most bizarre clothing, but it was kind of a gross sight......okay, not kind of, it was.....

She was wearing VERY thin and short white shorts and a VERY thin white tank top with no bra. She pulled the straps off her tank top and put them below her arm pits. Half of her breasts were exposed.

Now, the gross part......her breasts (and I am not kidding) went down to her belly button if not the bottom of her stomach. Her shorts were see-through and it was obvious that she was not wearing underwear of any kind. She had just gotten off of Splash and she was soaked, you could see everything and I do mean everything. So, she was waiting in line for Big Thunder Mountain and let's just say that she had her hands on those see-through spots doing things that made us leave the line.

And that is all I will say. If you want specifics or cannot figure out what I am talking about, you will have to PM me. ;)

This? Is just so...disturbing. :scared1:  :scared1: I would've found a CM and thrown a fit. Honestly, who goes on any water ride wearing thin white clothing and no underwear? Either they're really stupid or a pervert. Throw them out for public indecency. Especially after she did what she did. There are kids around, for pete's sake!

The hot dog in the belly button guy and the guy "enjoying the magic" at the urinal are also insanely gross.

But the guy with the socks in his shorts really cracked me up! BWAH! I love it! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:  :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Is it bad that I'm finding this thread weirdly entertaining? popcorn::

Not at WDW, but a related story. . . Last November at the "Battle of the Boot" (Arkansas vs. LSU footballgame) at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. All tailgating takes place on a golf course--a muddy golf course. Inside the stadium, a sink in the ladies room was stuck on AND was spraying out onto the floor, so it was flooded. The floor was NASTY with all the mud from everyone's shoes. An hour or so later, I go in and the flood had been mopped up, but the mud was still caked on the floor, kinda smeared around, you know. (I was pregnant, visiting the ladies often) A woman came in, layed her toddler down on the NASTY floor and proceeded to change his diaper, directly UNDER the diaper changing station:confused3

My family was having lunch in the Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom. My husband went to use the bathroom and came racing back out with a horrified look on his face. Bracing myself for a doo-doo story, I was shocked when he told me what actually happened. Apparently, there was a man standing at one of the urinals who was... how should I say this... "shaking it" a little longer than any man should in public.

I was a little surprised that my husband looked, but he said it was obvious what was going on when he walked in the door. A few minutes later we heard someone at the next table telling his wife the same story!

The same thing happened to me at Kings Island park in Ohio. This guy was standing there went I walked in. I was done and walking away and he was still there, as I walked by I caught a glimpse of a handing shaking :scared1: ( no he wasn't shaking hands with John :lmao: ) after I washed my hands he was still there.

Last week at Pooh Playground at MK a mom was letting her small toddler (as in, maybe 13 months) run through the small fountain area with nothing on but a t-shirt... no diaper, everything hanging out. I wouldn't let my kids play in that area, and I couldn't find a CM to inform. I kept thinking I hoped the kid didn't just let loose over there!

Why would someone think that was ok????? Please understand, it wasn't the sight of a toddler's bitty tushie that was offensive, it was just a hygenic thing. :sad2:

My DH came out of the men's room and told me to watch for man & his little boy (maybe around 4 or 5). Cute kid. Well dad took him pee, they each stood at their own urinal. DH tells me there's regular sized ones and little ones. So dad uses the regular one and son goes down the row to the small ones. Son finishes his business before dad and proceeds to splash around in it, before flushing. Well dad isn't quite done and other than yelling at the kid, he couldn't do much.

Later that day on the bus back to the resort another little boy at the front of the bus drops down on his knees and starts to lick the pole or hand rail from bottom to top, non-stop, like it was giant lolly pop. His mother is very calmly telling him to stop but the kid ignores her, for like 5 minutes!! Finally the dad grabs the kid to make him stop.

The grossest part of this day is that I couldn't help but think what if the boy in the bathroom didn't wash his hands and he was the last one to touch the pole that the boy on the bus was licking???  :scared1: :scared1:

We were in line for Test Track this last January. There was a man with one DS ahead of us and in front of him was a combo of 2 families with several kids. I had to quickly whisper in my kids ears to NOT touch any railings, or anything else while waiting. I had just watched one of the kids reach down inside the back of his underwear and start digging. He pulled his hand out and was staring intently at his fingers and made kind of a rolling around something between his fingers movement. I then had to reissue the warning a few minutes later when the boy in front of us was digging away in his nose.

I have taken all three of my girls when they were toddlers and babies to Disney and I always wanted to change them in the bathroom. Why would you not? :confused3

All I can say is sometimes the diaper changing stations in the bathrooms are really gross too! I've often taken my kids into a bathroom, and then decided to just change them in their strollers. I've stayed in the bathroom, though - not out in public! And definitely not on a table!

Now I carry extra wipes, so I can wipe down the changing table (both before and after changes). I wish they would make those plastic diaper changing pads big enough for a two year old!!

So now the big question is, how do we CHANGE all this germy behavior?

Can we petition Disney to put signs above the water bubblers-like the international symbol of a baby's butt with the fountain sprinkling it and a big red line meaning NO through it?

How about an onsite Disney channel showing proper sanitary habits in the parks? How about you can't turn that channel to any other one after you've watched it for an hour?!

We're not gonna take it, no, we ain't gonna take it!

So, who's in charge of Poop over at Disney, anyway? We've got 20+ pages of gross behavior at Disney that evidently stems from ignorance and the fact that they're lazy and they can get away with it!

Now, the calamari, I got nothin' for that...

Get your torches and your pitchforks and your hand sanitizer, people!

Maybe we can get that crazed over enthusiastic woman on the "ten best things about WDW countdown" channel they have at the resorts (or whatever it is she is counting down). We can get her to do a "Ten Biggest No-No's at Walt Disney World." Of course, from what I've seen mentioned on this thread, there's many more than ten.

I've been debating whether or not to post this, just thinking about it makes me cringe...

My mom and I had just gotten onto the tram on the Backlot Tour, front row in the last car. In the back row of the car ahead of us a woman was sitting with her teenage daughter. The daughter starts picking at her mom's shoulder, obsessed with some sort of blemish, the mom sitting there apparently quite oblivious. This goes on for a few minutes as the ride begins, the daughter still scraping at her mother's arm-pimple. Well, whatever it was must have popped, and the daughter proceeded to wipe the contents onto her finger and eagerly show it to her mom.

Needless to say, I will be spending the better part of the rest of my life trying to wipe this from my memory. :sad2:

Needless to say, I will be spending the better part of the rest of my life trying to wipe this from my memory. :sad2:

You mean, "Ewwww, yes....those special ..."
got FRIED calamari and after eating a few bites of it he noticed one started to move the little suction cups were moving!!!:scared:!! him and my friend maggie were frecking out and at first i was frecking out but i got so tired of it i threw it in my mouth and said there its gone happy now!!
Maybe something else (Something else; some Thing else; something Else) was making the little suction cups move!

So now the big question is, how do we CHANGE all this germy behavior?
Can we petition ...!

WDW needs a "Disney Sanitary Code" as well as "Mickey's Good Manners Club" and plenty of security CM's. (Does Florida have a State Sanitary Code?)

Alternatively if some pandemic surfaces somewhere in the real world and threatens to invade Mickey's world, then maybe some changes will be forced upon us.

I'll tell ya, after reading all 20 pages of this thread, the next time I got to WDW or any park for that matter, I'm bringing a couple gallons of bleach to hose off tables, drinking fountains, handrails & toilet seats. I would never in a million years have thought of holding my baby up to the water fountain & rinsing off his or her nether regions. Nor would I have thought doing it in the public restroom sink was a good idea. That's not even a good idea in my own home! Talk about the grossest thing...Whenever I tell my kids not to put their mouths on the drinking fountain it's because of other people putting their mouths on it, not because somebody's butt's been up in there taking a bath. Common sense should tell you that if your mouth goes there then your butt definitely shouldn't. Geez. On the other hand I have been laughing hysterically at some of these posts.

UNFORTUNATELY seeing a floating "chocolate" in the resort pool at POR several weeks ago. And no it wasn't a candy bar, just a child whose parents didn't use the rubber swim diaper and decided the pool would be a fine place to make a bowel movement! YUCK!!

Of course it closed the pool down until they could filter it. VERY GROSS INDEED!!!

I posted this to another thread, but clearly it fits best here!

This thread reminded me of something I saw in one of the parks (I think it was the Magic Kingdom) over a decade ago.
I just happened to be sitting down for a quick rest, not really paying much attention to anything, and I saw a man fish a half-eaten hot dog out of a trash bin. He stood with his back to the bin and looked around for an opportune time when no one was looking (sorry buddy!) and then dove in for it! Someone must have deposited it there in front of him and tempted his tastebuds..... nothing like a bit of garbage to make a Disney day that much more special! :rolleyes1
Here's the best part, though..... he eats the dog from the uneaten end, and carefully bites off his last piece so as not to eat the previously bitten end! It's important to practice good hygiene, I suppose. Kudos to you, pal. :thumbsup2
I can imagine the complaint to Disney, though..... your restaurants gave me food poisoning!!!!! :rotfl:

I'm sorry I have nothing to add except that I can't believe how hard I'm laughing at this and that I've read all 21 pages. I'm in tears. I've never been "lucky" enough to witness any of this grossness, but maybe after our trip in December I'll have something equally disgusting to report.

I do, however, love the phrase "baby bidet". Bit of genius there, I'll be remembering that one forever, and I now have something more concrete to answer my children with when they ask (complain?) why I never let them drink from the drinking fountain.

I just read this entire thread and O....M....G, I mean some stories unfortunately it sounded as if the person being described was quite ill, even possibly a seizure victim in the first few pages. (I'm a mom of an epileptic who seizes like PP described as spittle hanging from the mouth and gagging). But the ones that really make me sick are the diaper ones. What is wrong with people??? My DS has worn a diaper for 17 years. That means I've been changing em for 17 years. ;) I'd never consider any of these tactics. :confused3 They are just plain dangerous healthwise. Gross! WDW is awesome at providing areas to change people of all sizes. Why not use them? Don't you just want to scream "PEOPLE...a little common sense!"???:headache: And Dateline wonders why the entire world now testes positive for ecoli exposure...:scared:

Hi everyone! Just arrived back in the UK today after 2 wonderful weeks at Disney,, well I have another diaper story for you all,,, A couple of nights ago, we went to fort wilderness to watch the campfire and movie and there was a family sat on the next bench to us,,, well the mother decides to change the baby right there on the bench in front of everyone, the dad was sat right beside the baby munching away on a hotdog
How unbelievable some people are,, I mean everyone was sat around this woman eating hotdogs and marshmallows and she does that,, the comfort station was right nearby too!!!
So if you are the blonde mother who was watching finding Nemo a couple of nights ago.... SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

Last week one morning my DD was the first one down the slide at POFQ. I was walking around to the stpes with my 2 yo so we could go in the pool. I see my DS standing on line and kids saying ewww. He comes down and they close the slide. There was a pile of poop at the top of the slide. It was 10 in the morning and it didn't make sense how it got there. My kids thought it was alligator poop. A man came a few minutes later, cleaned it up and the kids were sliding again. Thankfully that's the only poop encounter we've had at WDW.

I had totally forgotten about this until now. I didn't see it, but my mom did.

I was riding TOT in the morning at MGM, and my mom was waiting for me somewhere near the entrance where a bunch of strollers were. Apparently this family came walking up from wherever they had been with their little girl, and she ran straight over to her stroller. From where she sat, my mom could clearly see a TON of lovebugs coating the seat of the stroller, but no one in the family seemed to have noticed. The little girl plopped down on the bugs, not noticing anything. UNGH. :scared:

Sort of related, I was at MK one day and I had just gotten a Dole Whip. As I was reaching with my spoon to get that first delicious bite... a lovebug landed on it. Right where I was going to eat. At least it was one of the singular ones, instead of the mated pairs...

A few years back we were in Playhouse Disney waiting for it to start, we took our seats on that nice hard floor and noticed a few "spots" being covered by extra carpet remnants and they were actually letting people in to sit on them ... it took one curious infant to pull up the rug and all you could smell was that hordid smell of fresh puke! And the kicker was it was not cleaned up they just covered it with the carpet remnant, when the family complained they were told they could sit farther back or stand ... we squeezed as far away as possible, then actually decided to move to the other side of the theater when we saw them allowing another poor unsuspecting family walk in and sit right down on top of it! It was NASTY:eek:

But she was eating an ice cream sandwich at the time. Well, this is so gross. this happened at our resort (POR.) down at the food court area i went to use the bathroom. there was only one sink to use and a girl, maybe 11 years old, was washing her hands. when she was done, i went over to the sink. she didn't dry her hands which i thought was odd. i was thinking, "great..now the door handle will be all wet."

then, i looked in the mirror and i could see her standing next to the door. she then started to suck all of the water off of each finger....one finger at a time. she shoved each one all the way into her mouth and sucked on them. NASTY. when she was done with all 10, she grabbed the door handle and left.

needless to say, i used a paper towel to open the door. ugh.

The nastiest thing I ever saw was in the men's restroom at MK (I think the one between Adventure Land and Frontier Land) a dad waiting for his kid outside the stall. The kid- maybe 4?- comes out and proceeds to the sink to wash his hands. The dad says (irritated) "What are you doing?" Kid tells dad he went #2. The dad- more irritated now since kid is 'wasting time'- scolds him all the way out the door never letting him wash his hands. :scared:

We saw a little kid once while in line for the Jungle Cruise and he was running his mouth along the bars, the parents wern't even paying attention. Antibiotic hand cleaner is a staple in our bag.

It was probably my son (now 6)...he puts his mouth on everything. We've tried and tried to stop it and even the pediatrician is a bit worried -- not that he does it but WHY does he do it. He's eaten the rubber stops off of his (and my) Gameboys, every eraser in the house (including parts of the pencil), holes in his shirts, etc. - it goes on and on.

Well, your son and my DD7 are obviously meant for each other because she chews on EVERYTHING. I just thank God that cigarettes will probably be illegal by the time they're old enough to pick up another oral habit...

You should see the feet on her barbies-it looks like Garden Barbie Meets The Chipper Shredder...

....to stay on topic, we finally got her to stop touching and chewing on the railings after the second bout of gastroenteritis that she picked up from so much contact with Disney world. And this is not a stupid kid, she told the emergency room doctor " I have gastroenteritis again because I keep putting my fingers in my mouth", then proceeded to yack on him...

Ok, as a CM I've seen plenty of gross things... here are a few:

The woman at JC who took her baby's bottle, hung it over the side of the boat, and proceeded to fill it with water from the attraction. The Skipper, thankfully, warned her not to give it to her child. (I hear similar stories from CMs at Splash Mountain, it's a small world, and Pirates).
The woman I saw washing her stinky, filthy feet in one of the water fountains. I quickly reminded her that we had restrooms that would be more appropriate for that kind of thing, then called custodial to sanitize the fountain.
Inappropriate shirts? Yes, on a daily basis. Honestly, folks... you're going to a theme park for children and families. Think before you get dressed.

I will confess to having changed diapers in public areas, but not with my kids on other peoples laps, not on a picnic table, and I've never even considered washing their tushies off in a water fountain. Unbelieveable the things some people think are acceptable.

Some of these stories I don't know whether to laugh at, or cry over. I certainly will NOT be drinking from any water fountains when we are in Disney, and I'm going out right away and stocking up on Clorox wipes, and hand sanitizer.

Here's a tip: Get the first seating at buffets, because that same woman's probably grabbing the handles of the same food you're ladling out onto your plate.

Seriously, it's the handles every time.

About 3 years ago, we made our yearly trip to the Polynesain. We checked in bright and early at about 9:00 and our room was ready about 2:00. When we got into our room there were dirty diapers all over the room. Diapers on the bed and in the bathroom and needless to say they were filled. What a bunch of slobs must have stayed in the room before us. Housekeeping must have overlooked the room, but it was disgusting.
The hotel manager came down, personally apologized, and comped us the room for 2 of our 8 nights. I guess it was worth seeing the dirty diapers for a $600 savings.

I've got one that fits perfectly here. We were at WDW this past October with the extended family, including my 16 year old BIL. On day 5 of our trip I decide to get the older kids / young adults up for a morning of big rides at the Animal Kingdom. The plan was to hit EE, Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur and the likes.

So, we start to head to the park and BIL is missing. We decide to leave him and head for the buses only to find him in the food court finishing off his second round of pancakes and eggs. :rolleyes2 As we pass by, sure enough, he decides he is joining us after all.

We get to the Animal Kingdom and make a beeline for EE. For the first ride he chickens out and waits in the gift shop. We decide to ride again and he says he is up for the ride. As a sign of things to come we notice the picture of the "Yak Caravan" across the Himalayas for the first time and comment that was put there for BIL.

Sure enough, we start the big climb and I look over to see this look of dread on his face. He manages to keep himself together through the hills, going backwards, everything. He relaxes just as we are approaching the station to exit the ride; just before the tram jerks to a stop. So we jerk to a stop and I here this grunt from beside me. I look over just in time to see this brownish, syrupy half digest ooze coming from between BIL's teeth and running down his chin as he tries to avoid letting his breakfast go right there in the tram. I promise, that is an image that will live with me forever.

Somehow he manages to exit the ride, runs through the gift shop and halfway to the bathroom before leaving his breakfast in the bushes along the side of the walkway. When we notified a CM of the mishap he did give BIL credit for making it as close to the bathroom as he did. :worship: For us, this ride will (unfortunately) forever be known as Expedition Pancakes.

To make matters worse, we had fastpasses for one more ride so we decide to use them while BIL waits outside and gathers himself. We finish the ride and as we are getting off the tram we are the lucky winners of Dream Fastpasses for Animal Kingdom. Only problem is BIL wasn't there so he does not have a FP for all the rides. The DFP's did make a lovely addition to a couple of scrapbooking pages, though.

The worst thing I've seen, is a young boy breaking his arm when he fell off the hand rail while in line for Astro Orbiter. Mom and dad weren't watching as he climbed atop the hand rail. He quickly learned why he shouldn't have done that when he fell. The little fella was crying so loudly that I knew something was very wrong. His mom didn't realize what was wrong with him at first until she (and the others who were standing nearby) noticed the unusual bend in his fore arm.

The worst thing I saw was on my trip this last October. We were eating dinner at Rose & Crown and at the table next to us there was a young boy who kept telling his mother he felt sick. His mother handed him her napkin and told him that if he got sick to use it. Ten minutes later he leaned over next to our table and threw up all over the place (including my foot). :crazy2:

what????????????

because i wasn't able to check the dis for 6 months. i don't have a "gross story" to add and i don't think everyone on the dis has one, i think this is a funny thread. I didn't know it was a rule to post a story to enjoy a thread

i really don't get what's the problem :confused3

Don't listen to her. There's absolutely nothing wrong with bumping older threads - especially ones that got lost in the shuffle that a lot of people enjoyed. People will get mad if you start a new thread about something that was already discussed in a previous thread but then get mad if you bump the old one. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

In any case, thanks for bumping this thread! I had never seen it before for and have been really enjoying it. (Perhaps "enjoying" isn't the right word. )

This is totally off topic but years ago I was a manager at TDS in an airport. I had a celebrity that I was helping (I had no idea it was her until I ran her amex card). She bought a few things but one was marcasite (?) jewelry. She put it in her cleavage and said that her Momma always taught her to keep her jewels close to her heart.

Did this poster ever say who the celebrity was? I'm dying to know.

I was on line for Stitch and a very scary looking family was popping each other's pimples. There was another family who saw this and we were all trying to keep our distance from the grossness of it all.

Well, at least it was more entertaining than the Stitch attraction.

Your son has an oral fixation. I think it's really quite common.

For us, this ride will (unfortunately) forever be known as Expedition Pancakes.

:rotfl: Best line ever!

Oh - A lovely Indian couple in line with us waiting for Dumbo a few years back. We had actually exchanged in conversation with them and enjoyed waiting in line with them very much.

Then....it happend....she started popping her hubby's face pimples right there in line.....only about 2 feet from us..... :scared: :scared1: I really thought I was going to throw up.

Top 5 Grossest things ever witnessed (or smelled) at WDW: (in order of grossness)
5. Old (over 60) men wearing the skimpiest speedos known to human kind at Blizzard Beach! To make matters worse, they were all in line for Summit Plummet!
4. While dining at the Lunch Pad at MK, a woman had 2 children in diapers and thought it was acceptable to change dirty diapers at the lunch table!
3. Coming off TOT, there was a group of folks who probably should have headed the warning as all 5 members of the group were depositing the contents of their stomachs at the entrance to the photo line.
2. for those of you traveling from other countries: in the US, especially in August at WDW, Deordant is not optional....it's REQUIRED!
and the all time gross winner is:
1. Opening weekend for MS: DH and I were getting off the ride for the first time and getting ready to run around and do it again when we noticed the abundance of trash cans.....well....we turned the counter (and yes this is equally gross that we counted) 18 people were throwing up in the trash cans that had been strategically placed at the exits. To make matters worse, as we were entering our shuttle for the second round, a lady was puking everywhere as we walked in. YUCK! I might be a nurse, but if there is one thing I can't stand, it's puke!

I certainly will NOT be drinking from any water fountains when we are in Disney, and I'm going out right away and stocking up on Clorox wipes, and hand sanitizer.
Smart move -- just about every work location I've been at in WDW has had a large supply of Purel handy for the cast's personal use (usually it's a large wall-mounted dispenser backstage). And for the record, any CS restaurant at WDW will happily give you a cup of ice water for free.

Now, I can assure you that custodial does indeed clean and sanitize all the water fountains regularly -- but I wouldn't want to bet that I was the first person to use a fountain after it was sanitized unless I saw the custodial CM clean it myself.

Honestly... sometimes it's a wonder more CMs don't get sicker than we already do.

Inappropriate shirts? Yes, on a daily basis. Honestly, folks... you're going to a theme park for children and families. Think before you get dressed.
[/LIST]

Yeah, last summer we saw two teenaged Japanese boys with two hand-printed shirts that were so completely, fundamentally disgusting and offensive that the closest I can get to giving you a clue about what was on it was that the "C" word was part of the phrase. .

I made sure and found a female CM, just to make sure she would be as mad as I was. And the boys were like, oh, we don't speak english, we have no idea what's printed on our shirts! Of course this was said IN ENGLISH. I was *furious*. They couldn't even turn their shirts inside out because they were white shirts and the "writing" was in sharpie marker and had bled through.

Maybe not grossest, but definitely most offensive.

Not the grossest but the funniest and a little strange.

We were in the computer pool at Pop Century and there was this nerdy kid about 9 blowing up a raft with a mostly naked man printed on it. I think he had a speedo on and guess where the valve was where the kid was blowing air into it.

Because of his age, I don't think this kid had a glue why everyone was looking a laughing.

After watching in a little disbelieve why he would even have this float, his father came over and took it away.

Maybe not considered "gross", but definitley raised my eyebrow. When we were at TL a few years back, my DH and I saw 2 women dressed in head toe, full middle eastern gown attire (sorry I do not know the appopriate name for it, but ya know w/the head and face covering, long wrapped, full dress) they walked right into the wave pool to swim. I saw them walkng toward the wave pool and my first thought was Holy cow they must be sweating to death, it was darn hot out. Then they kept walking towards the wave pool and i said to DH...there is no way they are walking in the water dressed like that...and sure enough in they went. It was the most bizarre thing I ever saw at WDW! Their DH's (or i presume they were their DH's) had gone in ahead of them and were both in speedos which I also do not like to see lol just not my idea of a proper swimsuit for a guy. Anyone ever seen that before? Oh and the couple who were lounging next to us on the beach area, were flipping out, the woman kept saying how unsanitary she thought it was and she was going to complain etc. There were many many people staring at the scene, it was wild.

I have cared for women of other cultures who are not allowed to be examined by a male Dr or it will defile them-quite a problem if they are very ill and there are no female Drs. on :sad2:

I don't blame the CMs for this -- I absolutely blame the guests! I am repeatedly disgusted by people for this very reason.

If you don't want to sit on the seat, that's fine. But LOOK before you leave -- did you pee on the seat? Then wipe it off! Do you think someone else wants to wipe up your pee more than you do?!

You don't want to touch the handle to flush? Okay, I understand. USE YOUR FOOT! I don't want to see your waste, and neither does anyone else.

A little common courtesy and consideration would make all the difference in the world.

Why doesn't Disney just invest in the toilets that flush automatically? :confused3 That would not only take care of that problem, but probably prevent stopped-up toilets and of course the nasty smells that occur in the bathrooms from the "lingering" odor....

Most toilets in Disney are auto-flush. That's a problem when you have small children that just learned how to use the bathroom and it flushes on them while they are going. Our secret - get some of those mickey stickers they hand out and lightly tape one over the sensor. Do your business, remove the sticker and it'll flush.

some still may be but I think this gross thing is in general for everyplace that has a public restroom. I sometimes think people just weren't raised right when it comes to this.

At Crystal Palace character dining, Winnie the Pooh came to our table to greet us with ketchup all over his wrists and forearm. It looked liked he'd been stabbed and bleeding. Not too gross, just disturbing. Thankfully, I have no puke stories.

Something else I saw that was disturbing, a car decal of Mickey Mouse giving the finger. Nice. Just love explaining that to my 4 year old.

well, it always involves family, doesn't it?

we went to the Yachtsman Steakhouse (at the Beach Club), and all dressed in our nice (for vacation) outfits. My daughter hasn't been feeling well since lunch (Flame Tree BB'cue), and guess what, about 3/4 of the way through, we get to see her lunch coming out!! Yes, in a nice family dinning area, she's literally losing her lunch. Waiter handled it like a pro, and called the special clean up crew (waiters are not allowed to touch anything once this happens), and they show up with the special chemical disinfectants. Gave him a nice big tip that night!

We were eating at Pecos Bill at MK on our last family trip. I took DD in to use the restroom. There was a lady at the sink cleaning out her nether regions with paper towels. And I mean, literally sticking her hands down her shorts in full view of everyone. There were plenty of open stalls where she could go and at least have some privacy. And then, she used all of the paper towels up.

AMEN. On our trip to WDW last fall our DD4 had a crying, screaming fit at a rest stop on I95. She had to go but was scared to death of the auto flushing toilets. We spent almost an hour at that stop before she would go. I would have walked her into the woods if there had been any. :)

We where really worried about this fear since Disney has those toilets all over which is good must of the time. Thankfully she got over this fear real quick.

I'm going to read some of what is on this thread to my kids so that they understand why we tell them to do certain things. :rotfl:

It isn't a "gross" story, but I recall this past April standing on the escalators to get on TTA, watching this unsupervised child (maybe around 12, possibly younger) bobbing and weaving under the que line ropes/ chains I think it was for Astro Orbiter...next thing I see is this kid getting a running start and gets leveled- across his neck as he tried to run full speed under the chain. It actually leveled his body parallel with the ground. He was ok, but when his parents put their eyes back on him, of course he was crying. Then the parents are like "what?!! What happened?!"

Gosh- makes me appreciate not having kids.:headache:
also makes me appreciate having attentative parents growing up...my dad probably would have whooped on me for that.

Are the parents being selfish and not wanting to leave or do they think their child is lying .

We were also in a restaurant at a booth and the kid behind me kept telling his father that he did not feel good and thought he was gonna get sick, the father atually yelled at the kid and told him not to throw up. I know some adults can ' hold ' in it until they get to the bathroom but this kid was under 6

I have a throw-up phobia and could not take it anymore, we all just got up in the middle of eating and walked out. I did not even wait for waitress, I went to the hostess and asked her to please bring me the check, that we were no longer at our table. To bad, I was enjoying my food but got to freaked out that kid was going to start to vomit everywhere.

I never knew if the kid got sick or not , but I do not think it was appropiate

If my daughter ever said she did not feel good we went to the bathroom to see what might become of it, then we immediately left. I always carried a bucket and towel in the car when she was little, just in case. Thank God we never needed it.

This is horrible but when I was a child (6-7 years old) I got sick in the Disney Village (PI today). My dad was trying to run me to a bathroom. I couldnt make it and stopped right next to a CM that was sweeping with his rolling garbage can and puked all over the ground, almost in the same spot he was sweeping. I could tell my Dad was absolutely embarrased. CM was nice about it though.

Let's see,

birds dropping their presents on me,
a guy cleaning up his kid's puke (I give him that credit) and then biting his fingernails,
a little boy who stuck his hands into the toilet and then licked them,
a dirty diaper left on the seat of a ride,
a boy rubbing his sister's dirty diaper up against his head,
a baby with a dirty diaper making a mess out if a high cair (I have alot of diaper stories),
a woman picking out her son's ear wax and then wiping it on a wall,
a father who let his underage son finish his beer (not gross, more wrong),

and last but not least, a grown, drunk man puking on a lady's shoe!

I've got more if you want me to keep going! :rotfl:

Even though I am totally disgusted...this is a very funny thread and I will now be taking a full shower after I leave the parks!!!

That being said....I rode Splash Mountain in Disneyland when I was in 7th grade and I hopped in the boat and the seat was all wet so I brushed it away with my hand so my butt wouldn't get wet...but it was pee! I thought the little boy who hopped off before me looked pretty wet, but it's a water ride! The boat had already started moving and I was half standing up yelling to the CM to let me off and they yelled at me to sit down. I balanced the whole ride so that I looked like I was sitting, but my butt wasn't touching the seat...it did get a little wet on the falls because I had to sit. Big surprise they didn't print our picture on the photo board...I think they thought I was a tween who was causing trouble.

I now always check the seat before I step in!

This didn't happen at a park, but it was on the way to one. My DH and I were on a bus headed for the MK. It was one of the busses where there are seats facing eachother along each side of the bus. Anyway, there was a woman sitting next to me with a baby on her lap. The baby was looking at me and smiling when all of a sudden I notice his nose was running. OK, thats not really gross, my mom has a daycare so it didn't really bother me, but I thought my DH was going to puke!! All of a sudden, for lack of a better phrase, a "snot bubble" started coming out of the baby's nose!! And it would get bigger and then smaller as he was breathing in and out!! I actually thought it was pretty funny, but my DH. . .I think he was very thankful at that moment that we don't have any kids!!

But she was eating an ice cream sandwich at the time. Well, this is so gross. They swapped it back and forth, spilling some out of their mouths. :scared1: And all in full view of everyone around and sadly, in view of a young girl who was with them. Soooooooo disgusting.

Yeah, we almost did, too. Imagine us trying to explain to our young kids exactly what this couple is doing, as ice cream is dripping down the sides of their mouth. And at MK no less!

I have plenty!!

Two summers ago, I took two friends with me to WDW. We have this thing for teacup rides, so we HAD to ride them. We were in line and there was a little boy a few people infront of us who started licking and sucking on the chains that make up the queue lines. I was so grossed out!

This one is even worse. Me, my brother, and my mom were just getting ready to board Mission:Space when a lady came out the wrong way with puke all down the front of her repeatedly saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." :scared: That image is forever engraved in my mind..

If it oculd happen where I saw it, it could happen at Disney.

I was on the Boulevard Haussmann in Paris right in front of Printemps department store right around rush hour (9am). There was a VERY well dressed, professional looking woman carrying a briefcase, walking with a young girl, her daughter who was about 6-7 years old. She was in an obvious hurry as she was basically dragging the girl behind her at a pretty good clip. The little girl was also well dressed, in a mid-shin length dress and patent "Mary Janes". I heard the girl tell her mom that she had to go to the bathroom. The lady stopped, glared at the little girl, walked to the curb, put down her briefcase, placed the little girl in front of her, both facing the street. She then reached under the little girl's skirt, pulled her panties down to her ankles, grabbed her feet and lifted her up by said ankles with the little girl's back resting against her chest and let her pee, "fountain style" into the street!! She then plopped her back onto her feet, reached down and yanked up her panties, grabbed her hand and continued to drag the poor girl behing her once again.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I was riding the monorail and the teenage boy across from me was peeling the sunburned skin off his face and body - he left a nice pile of skin in the floor. It was gross!

EW!!! Hmm I can't think of anything..

Well, I'm not sure how "gross" this is, but DD9 is still talking about how tacky this was. We saw a woman carrying her cell phone in her cleavage. Let's just say it was a very revealing top and she had pleny of room for it! (Of course maybe it's just jealousy that I wouldn't be able to do that!)

On our last trip, Dec/07, DW and I, DS4, DS10 are in DTD near La Nouba.
DS4 needs to go to the bathroom, so I take him to the one outside La Nouba.
I had to go as well, so he is at the childrens urinal and I about 3 down, due to others being used so I am not beside him.
The others leave and him and I are now in "full stream".
I am already concerned because he isnt quite tall enough for the urinal, if you know what I mean.
He starts talking "Daddy"..."Yes"..."when they built this place...Why do they...just a second..."
He finishes off his business...I am still relieving. (Afew beers involved)
I am waiting for some deep question into building construction (as I design systems for buildings)
He then says "when they built this place why do they put these..."
HE THEN REACHES IN AND GRABS THE PLASTIC SCREEN IN THE URINAL AND PICKS IT UP!!!!!
I SCREAM "NO!!!! PUT THAT DOWN!!!!"
Flow is cut off immediately and I...still...well..."exposed", jump at him, grabbing his arm and he drops it.
Another gentleman had just walked in as he asked the question and got quite a laugh out of it.
PLENTY of hand washing after that, I have to tell you.

I just posted this on most unexpected things seen in disney but i think it fits here good!! I didn't get a chance to read through all the stories so I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but when i was there this past December my family and I were in the stand-by line for sorin and there was a very rude family behing us, a coupe and their 3 year old boy, they kept bumping into us and the little boy kept kicking us but all of a sudden I heard this noise and I looked behind me and the mom had a water bottle up to the little boy's area and he was peeing in it! I was so shocked and disgusted!!! She then dropped the bottle, thankfully capped and then proceeded to throw the pee bottle in the trash!!!

People not washing their hands after using the restroom. You try to teach your kids to always wash their hands, then they see boatloads of people walk out without washing, and you know they gotta wonder why they cant do the same.

I remembered this thread from the summer, right before our August trip. I'm glad it was brought back because after our trip at Christmas, I have one to add.

We were at DTD at Goofy's Candy Company. DH was getting some jelly beans (he's an addict) and all of a sudden this man come running through carrying his son. He had him in a bear hug from behind and was heading toward the door. I thought this was a little odd because the boy was a little older 9 or 10. Then I looked closer, the boy was covering his mouth with both hands. I guess the dad was trying to make it out the door before the boy got sick, but he didn't make it. The boy threw up all over the floor. :scared: You could see the CMs groan. I will say it was handled very well. As we quickly made our exit, a manager CM blocked off the area and others brought cleaning products.

We went to Dubai for our honeymoon and we saw lots of ladies wearing Burkas (sp?) in the Waterpark swimming in them with their partners who wore speedos. A friend said she even saw a lady go down a water slide in one.

Oh no I was talking about breastfeeding, but it definitely goes the same to diaper changers. Like seriously, can't people go somewhere a little more private. I have no problem with any body parts but I don't want my kids learning about the anatomy of a female upper body so young. It's just a common sense and decency issue for me. I'm a chick and when I eventually have a kid, I'll be courteous enough to go somewhere private... and I don't mean go all the way back to a hotel room, I just ask that you find a corner, or cover yourself. I swear the next time I see someone do that at the dinner table or in a store I'm going to take my shirt off and walk around topless, same thing.

Seriously not the same thing as going around topless. At all. I actually am having trouble even contemplating how someone can equate feeding a baby to just walking around topless. :confused3 Oh well, I must be gross.

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing when I read that. Walking around topless and breastfeeding are nothing alike. And I rarely see anyone breastfeeding in public that doesn't use a blanket or something to cover themselves.

Besides, breastfeeding is not gross....so it really doesn't belong in this thread. (My opinion, of course.)

I breastfed 3 children. I always made sure my body parts were quite covered when I had to feed my babies. I do not care for seeing totally exposed breasts during feeding, no one needs to see the entire show. So that is the only time I consider it "gross". Unfortunately, many people equate breastfeeding with being totally exposed because they likely have seen that before. Those same people have probably seen even MORE people discreetly breastfeeding and never knew what they were really doing!

Seriously, you really think breastfeeding is "gross"? Wow, girl, time to come out of the caveman era. You need to let go of the idea that ****s are something that we shamefully hide from men, but instead that they're a powerfully functional part of the female body, when they need to be.

No shame in having them and using them. Feeding a baby and walking around topless (evidently to attract attention) are two completely different behaviors, and it's unfortunate that in this country women are raised to feel stigmatized about this natural and important part of raising a baby.

"I don't want my kids learning about the anatomy of the female upper body"

Huh!?? What do you think they were nursing on?!

And FWIW, breastfeeding is MUCH more sanitary than using a bottle.

And I'll be darned if I go hide in a filthy germy toilet to nurse a baby. What a negative idea...

ETA: "Go find a corner" Yeah, I'm going to go STAND IN A CORNER somewhere and nurse. Let's all get a mental picture of a lady standing, facing a corner. Yeah, THAT's normal...

Totally agree. Had a really funny story about a CM who didn't know I was nursing a baby until he asked me to hold up my wrist to put on a MVMCP band and I asked him if I could put it on my other hand because I was holding my baby under my shirt with the right one. He about fell over!:rotfl: he had no idea the baby was there.

Personally I think if they want to have the whole **** out there, whatever, but I think it must be kinda drafty....

And the ones who do the whole **** nursing, honey, it AIN'T sexy, your kids have nothing to worry about (except maybe NEVER thinking ****s are sexy;) )

i am almost certain that no one would not eat in a public restroom, so i can't see why anyone (this isnt the first time i've heard that one) should expect an infant to do so. that is gross.

i honestly have never seen someone's breast in public in my life. but i will tell you that even if someone did want to have them just hanging out it is perfectly legal, at least in NY. the law explicitly states that having the breast and/or nipple exposed before, during, or after a feeding does not violate decency laws. some states express that you should make an attempt to be "discreet", but that is fairly vague and subjective.

i have breastfed 3 children everywhere i go. often walking around or shopping with them in a front carrier. no one has ever seen my breasts and, as many others have said, never even knew the child was eating. i dont know if you have really seen people with their breasts all out (although as i said above that is their right to do so) or if you just have issues with breastfeeding and are offended by the idea that someone at the table next to you might be doing "that".

by the way... i did not attempt to start a huge debate over breastfeeding. i just honestly couldnt imagine that people really think feeding a child would qualify as one of the "grossest things seen". sorry to have sent the thread off on a tangent.

Back on the subject of things that are actually gross...

I posted this back a few pages but no one commented. So I was wondering...does anyone else find this bizarre and/or gross??

this happened at our resort (POR.) down at the food court area i went to use the bathroom. there was only one sink to use and a girl, maybe 11 years old, was washing her hands. when she was done, i went over to the sink. she didn't dry her hands which i thought was odd. i was thinking, "great..now the door handle will be all wet."

then, i looked in the mirror and i could see her standing next to the door. she then started to suck all of the water off of each finger....one finger at a time. she shoved each one all the way into her mouth and sucked on them. NASTY. when she was done with all 10, she grabbed the door handle and left.

needless to say, i used a paper towel to open the door. ugh.

Well there are many, but the first one that comes to mind is a woman walking around Magic Kingdom wearing a pair of extremely short shorts and a red satin bra. No lie, bra as top in MK. I think she was trying to pass it off as a bikini top, which is still not right IMHO for a kids theme park, but it was absolutely a bra, and I know this for a fact cuz I owned one exactly like it, but wasn't wearing it externally that day!:lmao:

At first I thought, well she's 11 and just a kid. Kids do weird things.

1. Several years ago, my family and I were visiting WDW for the umpteenth time. I was probably 14 or 15 years old, and we were waiting in the parking lot for one of the trams to take us to the park entrance. There was a girl my age (at the time) standing in front of us NEXT TO HER DAD wearing a black Playboy bikini top for a shirt, and the bottom clearly exposed under tiny denim cut-offs. I hoped they wouldn't let her in, but we saw them later around the park, with her still in the same outfit.

2. For my mom's 50th birthday a couple of years ago, we ate dinner at CRT. My mom and I were both in the restroom, and I walked out before she did. On the way out the door, I passed a little girl walking with her grandmother into the restroom. A few seconds later, my mom comes up behind me and says she has to go get a CM because that little girl just threw up all over the bathroom floor. I'm so glad I didn't see it, because I would have been the next one! At least she made it to the bathroom.

3. This didn't happen in Disney, but I used to work in what is basically a toy store at my town's mall. It was Christmas season, so we were FLOODED with customers, and I was working one of the cash registers. We had a huge line running to the back of the store of people waiting to pay, so my coworkers and I were trying to be as efficient as possible. Well this middle-aged couple and their children got up to my register, I rang up their merchandise quickly, and then tried to tell the mom her total. She and her hubby engrossed themselves in a full-on makeout session right in front of their children and all of the rest of the store. Not only was this incredibly gross, but they were holding up the line and people were getting really angry. I must have tried five times to get their attention before the mom finally pulled her lips off of him and was short with me for interrupting. :headache:

I have seen more women, both young and old, dressed inappropriately at WDW than I have seen breastfeeding women who let it all hang out. Most breastfeeding women are very discreet about the whole thing. I have more of a problem with the people who wear the hoochie tops and short shorts, even when they are carrying a few extra pounds. Or the big hairy dudes with the beer guts walking around with no shirt, letting everyone see their moobies(man ****s;) )

I've been around enough kids to the point where even diaper changing in public doesn't even bother me, as long as it's not in a restaurant. Out on one of the park benches wouldn't bother me. I guess because it's a baby, you know? What grosses me out are the grown women who pee all over the toilet seat(if you're a squatter, fine, but at least wipe up your dribbling) or adults who don't flush or wash their hands after going!

Dear IHEARTNY,
I understand where you are coming from. I have had 4 children, all of whom I breastfed and two of them have been parents also. I'm capible to realize that what you simply meant was for some more privacy, hopefully I am correct on this assumption. I too have seen and been part of those who do it discreetly in public and for those people I praise, but I do agree that there are some people who hang all out at the dinner table which to me also, is just tacky.

I have read all of the seemingly outraged comments but look at it this way, it's an opinion. The bathroom part was a little extreme but a simple blanket covering oneself is definitely called for in my opinion. Plus, in my years of living, I have come to a concencus with those around me that; come on, breast pumps are a good way to not offend anyone and it's the same thing as breastfeeding.

In defense of what IHEARTNY said, she never said it was the grossest thing she has ever seen at WDW, she was just responding to someone else's comment. Seriously people, lighten up. And even at the age of 22, she could be more mature and smarter than all of us, no need to judge. :hippie:

Gosh this thread is soooo gross.. :scared:

I got 2 for ya... and to me they are pretty gross!!

1. In 2006, we were in line for some dolewhip and we got our dolewhip and sat down since we were in no rush, across us we saw a woman who gave her toddler some sort of soft serve icecream and the baby ate it fine, later we hear someone saying "Oh man!" and the parents were laughing and the baby spitted (as in threw up/gagged) all the icecream back and it was running down the side of his mouth the mom laughed and with the spoon, scooped up the thrown up icecream and ate it!!! I'm sorry, but i find it gross if it's already been thrown up, i don't care if its your baby, don't scoop up its thrown up icecream and eat it :headache: :scared:!!!!

2. We were in MGM going to the bathroom and i walked into a full restroom, we had no clue were the nearest restroom would be afterward so we decided to wait... as i waited near a stall the stall next door opened but someone was already waiting on it when all of a sudden the lady who opened the stall shoved the lady out of her way and puked!!! The poor lady who cleans bathrooms got throwup on the side of her pants, OMG it was horrible! I'm so thankful to not have been waiting in that stall...

NASTY. when she was done with all 10, she grabbed the door handle and left.

needless to say, i used a paper towel to open the door. ugh.

That sounds almost ODC to me, except it's too unclean and gross to be OCD. I think I probably would have asked her what the h*ll she was doing, since I would have been dying to know. :rotfl:

Oh and sorry to get so off subject but, the grossest thing I have seen was at the TTC when I saw urine up against the vending machines. Not too gross which is really OK.

Yah, and as I recall, the vending machines were likely just outside the restroom door.

Grossest thing I was was our waitress at the Rainforest Cafe in the Animal Kingdom pick up a glass on another table that still had the last group's food and dishes on it...and bring the glass over to us.

My daughter had asked for water and we hadn't gotten any yet. She asked again for water, and the waitress said she'd get it right away. If we hadn't been watching her, we might not have realized that she'd brought us someone else's glass. Since it was full and still had ice in it, the waitress must have thought she could just give it to us. My daughter picked it up and sniffed it...and it wasn't even water!! It was some clear flat soda!

We just could not believe that a wait person would bring someone somebody else's leftovers.

What is with all the puke!! omg. I HATE throw up.

I work in a restaurant and it seems like at least once a week we get a family with a young kid that they have to keep running to the bathroom to throw up. Ummm here's an idea..if the kid is obviously sick, why not bring him home?

Once I was cleaning a table and I picked up a plate that had vomit all over it. The parents so kindly covered it with a napkin for me instead of telling me it was there. They had hastily paid their bill and ran off so that should have tipped me off right there @@

As for a Disney story...was probably when I was at POR Riverside. We were sitting outside the food court and I noticed a puddle of puke off to the side. The reason I didn't notice it at first was because people were just walking through it like normal. Uugggghhhh

Dh went and got a CM. We couldn't finish eating there. I can handle stinky baby diaper stories, I can handle people dipping stuff into sauce in their belly buttons but what I cannot handle...is puke from other people. I have been vomited on by my own kids and even my dh once and I was fine but when it is someone else...I just can't stand it.

Several years ago, I was in Epcot with my ex-boyfriend and we were walking around the World Showcase. I saw this group of people in their early 20s causing a scene. We were in the stores of Norway (where they're all connected) and they walked from store to store making all kinds of trouble. First, they started trying on the sweaters, then they went to the next section and moved things around (still in their sweaters) and carried items to the perfume room and started spritzing the perfume and cologne everywhere like Febreeze, in Sweaters with items in hand. They went to the giant troll and took pictures molesting it, etc. We stood there in amazement. We couldn't believe it when they started to eat the candy, without paying for it!!!!

We just followed in shock (at a safe distance). A CM walked up to them (older and more professional probably the man in charge) and took them to the back of the store. I went up to a CM to tell them all I saw (mind you this took probably 2 mins tops). The CM told me they were very rich Brazilians, think Paris Hilton, that tgo around thinking they have no rules and that they were sorry for any disruption that the Guests had caused us.

A few hours later in Mexico, we were just getting off the ride and we came across the same group (sans the sweaters). This time they were doing the same thing but were in the crystal store with the hats on. Several Disney security officers calmly walked in and asked the group to come with him. You should have seen the scene. I heard the man as they walked past say, "I am unconcerned that you have bought tickets, you are no longer welcome in Epcot under no means. Please follow me." He said it very quiet, but sternly. I was thinking about time. But how do spoiled rich kids take it? They started kicking a screaming! All the way to the CM door!!!

Or the big hairy dudes with the beer guts walking around with no shirt, letting everyone see their moobies(man ****s )

I am sorry but this just cracked me up! I just got off work after being up all night and almost fell out of my chair laughing! MOOBIES!!!HAHAH that is my new favorite word!:rotfl2:

none of yalls bathroom stories be as gross as my school bathrooms disrespectful brats leave there female products used and out in the open.

2 years ago i was at wdw at the liberty tree tavern i went to teh bath room i dont remember what she was doing but an old i mean realy old lady ahd taken her shirt off!

On the female story... I was at MGM, I don't remember the bathroom (not that it matters, but) there was no line, it was getting late. I went to the first stall (statistic say its the cleanest as most people go to the farthest, anyways) and I really had to go. I was al ready when I looked in the toliet and saw the biggest pad ever and the water looked like a blood bath. I almost threw up everything from the past year!!!!!!

Not gross but I have to comment on this one.
Rant warning.

I have nothing against the action of breastfeeding, it's healthier than formula (if the mother is following the rules), but there are guidelines one must follow.
Disney has put in each park a nice place for parents of babies to go. I know everyone has walked by one at least once. I am not talking about the family restrooms and changing stations.
From AllEarsNet:
Baby stations are cast member staffed areas in each of the four major parks that are set up for helping you to care for your child. They have changing areas, high chairs for feeding, breast feeding rooms, adult restroom, hot water, sinks for washing, and a room with toys and videos for your older children. These amenities are free for guest of the parks.
In addition, the stations can supply, for a small charge, emergency items that you may have forgotten to take to the park that day. Things such as, formula, diapers, Disney baby clothes, children's medicines, and other small necessities to help you get through the day. Use these stations often to get away from the hustle and bustle of the parks and to get off your feet.
These are not day care facilities so there is no place for your child to nap, but they are a great place to get your baby out of the sun for a few minutes. You will love these stations once you use them.

When I was under 10, my cousin had a baby. The whole family was at my house for a party. I walked into my living room and without warning, I saw the feeding, and EVERYTHING ELSE!!! :scared1: I definitely learned alittle too much that day. Anyone could have seen!!!! And my DB was under 5!!
Anyways. But on the other hand, I ran into a family friend in the mall and she was breastfeeding the baby out in the mall. BUT she was covered completely, I was none the wiser when she put parts away and uncovered the baby to burp. My husband told me later. I find that if you must do it in public, please respect yourself and body and the other people around you and do as the friend did. THAT MEANS COVER UPPPP!!!!!

I was in the MK in Tommorowland waiting to see the PUSH demo, and I saw uncharted territory again. With my niece in tow!!!!!!!!! She was 2. Imagine my surprise when she screams (I thought the lady put herself out there) "LOOK AUNTIE SARAH, I SEE HER ****IE!!!!!"   I quickly covered her mouth and walked away.

Until reading this thread (all 30+ pages of it), I never noticed anything gross at WDW. Now, with my luck and having read this thread, I'll notice every yucky thing mentioned and then SOME!!!

But I DID enjoy reading it....Definitely an eye opener. We're not typically hand sanitizer people, but we will be for our trip!

Just remembered this one from last week: I didn't see it, but my husband saw a man changing from street clothes to his swim suit at Typhoon Lagoon.:confused3 He was supposedly very casual about stripping naked and took his time changing into the swim suit.

Luckily my 9-year old neice was looking the other way! My husband told me about it by saying he saved her from certain blindness by making sure she kept looking away.

I think it's attitudes like that (covering the 2 year olds mouth and walking away) that give kids a complex about things like breastfeeding. If my niece had done that (which I doubt she would have because she's been around breastfeeding quite a bit) I would simply say, "yes, she's feeding her baby." No need to make it seem like it's something wrong to be doing. And those baby care centers are nice but sometimes people just don't want to have to walk to the other end of the park and/or leave the rest of their family behind. I still don't see what the big deal is. It someone breastfeeds in public they are usually covered up and if not, they are only really exposed for a second. I guess my upbringing is just different than others. We were around our cousins and siblings being breastfed all the time and it wasn't a big deal.

Off topic, you mentioned your husband pointed out that your friend had been breastfeeding. How long have you been married? Your name has the year 2006 in it. That's the year my hubby and I were married.

The grossest thing i've seen was at DTD. My friend and I had gone there I think 2 nights before this past new years eve. We were at the cigar bar, and I excused myself to go use the restroom. You have to use the one outside since the cigar bar doesnt have one. Once i got in there the smell hit me right away, and i knew something bad was waiting for me in one of those stalls. My luck, The first stall... door #1... contained the grand prize. This was not just your average "oops i forgot to flush" jobs. This was one of the foulest scenes i've ever witnessed. Fecal matter smeared everywhere inside the stall. "My god" i thought. and that was only the half of it. On my way out of the restroom, i noticed what i had missed on my way in. A trail leading from that stall and out of the restroom. I wanted to vomit.
When i got back to the cigar bar, I told my friend, because If I had to see it, He at least had to hear about it. Im just that good of a friend. Turns out, about 20 minutes earlier when my friend had used the restroom, he saw the culprit enter that stall, and said he was well beyond tipsy.
Just typing this is bringing back flashbacks of that horrible, horrible smell. I feel really bad for all the folks who have to clean that stuff up. :scared:

I agree! My sis breast fed her then 2 month old baby during one of our trips to Disney. She was discrete, she had a baby blanket that she would cover herself with. But there was no way she was hiking all the way to the baby care centers. We found her places that were as secluded as possible, and it worked fine. The hall of presidents is great for breast feeding. But I definately agree that it is not something to be ashamed of or to have to hide. And it is definately not gross!

The breastfeeding issue has to be dealt with on both sides. I fed my kids in public but was discreet. I wasn't trying to hide what I was doing but as a courtesy to everyone around me, I covered up. I take exception with people trying to make a point by making others uncomfortable. THEY are missing the point. Feed your child on the park bench if that's comfortable for you but respect the comfort level of everyone else. The real point is to take care of the baby.

I didn't realize what I had said would bring so much debate, hmm... Anyway, I admit that frankly I was more irrate about seeing someone breastfeed NOT discreetly in front of my entire family while at dinner earlier in the week, I did feel like it was pretty rude. The restaurant was a VERY nice one which had a lounge area in the bathroom area that was probably more sanitary than a hospital room. That's what I really meant by bathroom and I had realized a few minute ago that I should clarify that on my previous post only finding outraged folks.

In all honestly, I have seen people do it out in the open many many many times, an that I think is a little much, as long as someone is discreet about, I don't care but when I have to explain to my furture son (due in March yay!) when he's like 6 what is going on, I'm going to be annoyed. I have a great appreciation for people like Sheribo who make it a point to make it discreet, that's essentially all I ask, and not to do please at someone else's dinner table, I'd share the same courtesy to you.

But you know, I'm sorry for creating such an uncalled for debate and hope that we can all just get along and enjoy (but not really, lol) reading gross and disgusting things.

Oh yeah and ladyacrosstheland,
1. Thanks for taking a second to see what I was talking about, lol.
2. And I've seen that also!!!!!!!! It absolutely baffled me because there's a restroom right around the corner. I hope it wasn't from one of poor kids who's parents tell them to pee wherever instead to treking it to the restroom, it's sad reading those "grossest things" stories. :guilty:

This incident falls into the category of unsanitary and needed a report to the manager. Method of avoiding tipping for egregious service: Summon manager and "make an offer" for 2/3 of the check total as opposed to "paying the price". Chances are the manager will counter offer to split the difference which total with a tip equals the original check "sans" tip.

Not in Florida.

The breastfeeding of a baby is an important and basic act of nurture which must be encouraged in the interests of maternal and child health and family values. A mother may breastfeed her baby in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be, irrespective of whether or not the nipple of the mother’s breast is covered during or incidental to the breastfeeding.

Just because it's OK for men in certain countries to kill their wives when ever they feel like it, doesn't mean they should actually do it!
DON'T GET WRONG! Settle down, I'm not comparing murder to breastfeeding, what I am saying is that just because it's not against the law doesn't mean it should be done, I think all of us are asking for less exposure, nipples need to be covered regardless of whether the law tells them they have to be or not.

This doesn't qualify as totally gross, at least not for me, but I'm sure it did for the person who happened upon it!
It was a few years back, we'd just finished eating and I needed to use the restroom. In the stall next to me was a little girl. I have no idea how old she was because I couldn't see her, but by the sound of her voice I'll say she was at least 7 or 8. Her mom is outside the door yelling at her to hurry up. She says "But mom, I still have to flush." The door whipped open, (you could tell because my side of the stall started shaking) and her mom says, and I swear to God this is true, "We don't have time for that. If they're too cheap to install self flushing toilets that's their problem!"

I can only assume that she at least let the kid pull her pants up. Or her skirt down, whichever the case might have been.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We know we're no longer in Disney world when we have to flush the toilet ourselves. :lmao:

Thats respectful. What I was talking about was pulling it out (no blanket) for the whole world to get a play by play.

I covered my mouth as we were in a large gathering, and I did not want to embarrass her anymore (as she was bright red at my niece's yell) by my niece saying anymore. BTW she was breastfed and had a baby bro at home being breast fed. She also has a huge curiousity towards that part and had I not stopped her she would have carried on. I simply pulled her aside and explained we were in public and not to yell about those things. If you had read the beginning half, I was trying to be informative and had commented also how being respectful of the surroundings and covering up (unlike this lady who had the blanket wrapped around the baby and I could see certain parts from 20+ feet away) was ok. There's no fine line. You cover great!!! You don't and chances are you are going to be seen as indecent. No one wants to see the whole enchilada.

For some reason, whenever my son pukes (twice now at Disney resturants), my ex feels compelled to catch it with her hands. The problem is that she is a puker too. When smelling it, she starts to gag and I end up with a really big problem. Instead of letting the plate do the work, she makes the situation worse.

Reread the law I posted again. There's no chance (at least, not in Florida).

The main reason I'm bringing this up is to let you all know that if you see a woman breastfeeding while "uncovered" and you ask a CM to tell her to cover up, they won't. Furthermore, if you harass a breastfeeding woman at WDW, you might just find yourself sitting in a security office. It's against the law.

As for me personally -- I'm reminded of the whole Superbowl "controversy" where a glimpse of a naked breast sparks outrage -- but a show like CSI where a victim is shown murdered in slow-motion from different angles -- doesn't.

There are plenty of things to get grossed out by at WDW (like Stitch's Stinky Chili-Dog Breath). Breastfeeding babies isn't one of them.

Hey! My ****s do NOT look like enchiladas! As Terry Hatcher once said; "They're real, and they're SPECTACULAR!"

Seriously, though, I agree, this is way ot.

I think we should forward this whole thread to the CDC in Atlanta. They'd have a FIELD day with it! Epidemiologists passing out on the floor....

My kids had a big fear of the self flushing toilets for a long time, so we really had to hunt for the ones that are still manual flush. The best one that comes to mind are the toilets just to the left of the big hat at MGM. It was either find one of those or have to stand behind your kid and cover the electronic eye while they were sitting on the potty.

Stared at a lot of Disney bathroom ceilings for few years, let me tell ya....

This may have already been posted here, but...

A lot of kids have a fear of the self-flushing toilets and urinals. Next time you're in WDW, just ask any Custodial CM for a Mickey sticker. Next time your kids have to use the restroom, simply place the sticker over the sensor behind the toilet. Then, after they're done, simply remove the sticker (dropping it into the toilet) and the toilet will flush.

(The Custodial CMs wear the solid white costumes with blue and yellow accents.)

The grossest thing I saw on my trip last week was a grown man who was sitting on one of the benches, reached up through the bottom of his shorts to scratch himself, and he wasn't exactly trying to be discreet about it.

I have been lucky never to see anything obviously gross at Disney. However, I am always so distracted I just don't notice other people. I do have a gross story though, from my own home town.

So I am with my boss heading back to the office after an on site meeting. We are in a big F350 and higher than the other cars. We stop at a red light. I glance down, over to my right at the car stopped next to us. There is this older woman there, feeling around in her short hair. She plucks out a hair. Now normally I wouldn't be staring at someone like this but i couldn't help myself. She proceeds to examine the hair she plucked out, then puts it in her mouth and EATS IT! She then reaches back up and pulls out another hair.... eats it again!! This went on the whole time we were sitting at the light. Pluck, eat, pluck, eat. I wonder how she had any hair on her head and if she takes hairball formula vitamins. Blech!!

I saw a mother make (yes make, because obviously the child didn't want to) pee in a bowl on the gorilla trail at Animal Kingdom and dumped it out in a bush......then put the bowl back under the stroller...this wasn't a potty, it was just a tupperware bowl.

Same trip, at Cosmic Rays I saw a mother trimming her childs toe nails at the table..

HAHAHA. Okay. Yes. This is gross. And I would have been so angry if I'd gone to the park while it was like that. How awful! I'm still so thankful that the wand was gone at Epcot.

Saw a woman at BB unwedge her thong by repeatedly pulling it out of the ***ck in her backside using her index finger. Then picks up the hot dog she was eating and finishes her lunch. No hand washing for her. Nasty!

I also get tired of seeing kids with their fingers up their noses.

This reminded me of our last trip when we were walking through the queing of RRC in MGM. My dd 15 was olding on to the ropes as she was walking through and she started screaming. She got someones booger on her hand that they left on the rope. She is a HUGE germaphobic and swore she could feel the germs crawling all over her hand. Very gross but I couldn't stop laughing at her reaction.:rotfl:

I had forgotten about his, but DH sat in gum a couple of years ago waiting for the bus at the Poly.....There was a trash can right next to the bench, too...somebody was just too lazy to reach over and put it in.

We went to WDW two years in a row with that castle. Not two trips in a row, two different years in a row :sad2: The first time we were like, okay yea, whatever, but the second time it was more like NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

And we were glad to see that tacky glued on wand was gone too! We walked into the park and about cried when we saw it was back to normal. :yay:

But I DID enjoy reading it....Definitely an eye opener. We're not typically hand sanitizer people, but we will be for our trip!

:thumbsup2 :thanks:

Just a reminder for hand sanitizers. After the 6th time that you use sanitizer, you are supposed to go and wash your hands for it to continue to be affective. Sorry...just came back from a training refresher at the hospital.

Because hand santizers are anti-bacterial and your body become immune to the product after awhile as it builds up on your hands, making it ineffective.

So your hands become immune to the effectiveness of an alcohol based cleaner?:confused3

http://biology.about.com/library/weekly/aa022400a.htm

This says they don't really work all that well! AND that harmful germs may actually be carried or held by the sanitizer. (??)

Wierd!! DW and I used them on our last trip, and I wanted to wash my hands after use, it felt like it left a residue!

No, they're obviously effective but they are a temporary solution. They do leave a residue.

Your body does not build up "immunity" to the hand sanitizer. It's the germs the hand sanitizer is killing, not you. What is probably occuring is that not all of the germs are killed and remain trapped in the dried colloid that remains after the germ-killing alchohol evaporates.

Continually adding more hand sanitizer may build up layers of dried colloid with the germs remaining in those layers. Washing your hands DOES NOT KILL germs; it physically washes them off your body. The nice clean sudsy germs just go down the drain...

FWIW, I never go to Disney anymore without hand sanitizer for EVERYONE, on their lanyards. Everyone in our family has come down with gastroenteritis at least once before I stared my draconian hand sanitizer before every meal and at the top of the hour policy, which my DH laughed at until he had to do the 7 hour drive home puking into a bag the whole way, and is now a believer :yay:

Too many people in Disney in close contact with poor sanitary habits=this thread...

Actually that's really disputable. Now, most professionals agree that anti-bacterial products not only kill germs but they wipe out the good bacteria in your body as well - the bacteria that keeps the body healthy. That's why we've seen a major decrease in the presciption of antibiotics for things like the flu. This is why I say that anti-bacterial soap is a temporary solution. And you do have to wash your hands every now and then to wash off the residue or else it's doing just as much harm as it is good.

It's a tie for us...

1. Watching a family ask their boys to pee into a water bottle at the Safari ride loading, so they didn't have to leave the line and come back.

2. Watching a man pick dead skin off his feet on the monorail, and proceed to dump said skin all over the floor. Nasty...
