On our January 2005 trip we saw Steven Tyler in RnR! It all happened so fast we weren't even sure if what we had seen was real, he was in the exit gift store. We asked the girl as we were checking out and she said it was him. They were riding the ride!! :cool1:

I see a lot of people on this thread note that they only have a paper photo of the celebrity because they weren't using digital cameras then.

You can take a digital photo of the paper photo and post that in your message. We do it all the time to put our old family photos on back up discs, so it works.

With that said, I have NEVER seen a celebrity at Disney :(

Then in March of 2005, I saw Chris Kirkpatrick (from N'Sync) At the westside of DTD

Oh my god I saw Chris Kirkpatrick in DTD in January 2007!!!

I also met Vince Neil (Motley Crue) way back when The Cage was still in Pleasure Island....and I saw Pauly Shore in MGM also 15 years (or longer) ago.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, I didn't read every page. But, back when MGM Studios at DW first opened they had a star a day at the park. It lasted for awhile, but then stopped. Now Brett is a different story. Being born in WI and now in FL, I adore him. Now I watch the Jets!!!!

Well, admittedly, it was a lot easier to have celebrities make daily appearances back when it was a working production studio where actual movies and TV shows were filmed. Nowadays about the only things that gets filmed at the Studios are the occasional promotional spots or commercials.

No proof necessary! I asked because I would not think to get the photo until after he walked away. Then I would be sorry I didn't ask.

I'm somewhat of a Favre fan (ok, I'm a big Favre fan!) and my guess is he was with his wife. She's a brunette. I'm not sure if she's "tall" as I've never seen either of them in person.

Either way, I'm jealous that you got to put your head on his chest. I think it's hilarious he was on the pooh ride. I don't think I've been on that since the 1970's.

I don't want to turn this in to a "Brett Favre" fan club post, but since there's so much interest and a previous poster pointed out how to attach a non digital photo, here you go....

http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh224/melorahkb/Picture007.jpg

Personally, I'm not really a Favre fan. I would have been much happier to bump into Tom Brady, Teddy Bruschi, Big Papi, or Jason Veritek. But, I guess I feel lucky to have had my encounter with Brett (by the way, I do remember that bumping into his chest was like hitting a brick wall- he was much taller and more muscular than I would have imagined!)

Cool pic... even if it is his back lol. I too would rather run into Tom Brady. I would be like 'hey, thanks for getting hurt' :lmao:

and no, I have never seen anyone famous except for the mouse himself:laughing:

A few years ago we were at the parks and all of a sudden my son says OMG thats Tom Savini...(of course I had no idea at the time who Tom Savini was) but I looked and all I saw was someone who looked like my ex. My son went on and on about it and the guy looked pretty approachable so I told him to go up and ask if he was that big of a fan..He goes to the guy and asks are you Tom Savini? and the guy says who is that??? and my son goes on and on with EVERYTHING Tom Savini has ever did...Finally Tom smiles, shakes his hand and gives him a card with his name etc on it. He seemed very surprised that he would have such a huge fan...lol For any who do not know the one thing I can remember Tom Savini played in was Dusk til Dawn ... If you are a horror fan you probably know of his other abilities but I have forgotten them....
Below is the picture of Tom Savini and my son Genesis..
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/acm563/PICT0996.jpg

The following year my son met Nancy Kerrigan (sp) the ice skater at DTD World of Disney Store
Last year he met George Romero (I believe he said hes a producer or something ...sorry ppl I am not enough of a fan of anyone...lol) I dont have the pictures of Nancy or George....
Also last summer we were at HS watching Beauty and The Beast and there was a NFL player sitting across from us, I have no idea who he was but I know the face....

Yesterday, we were in the Yacht Club lobby and my friend's son was going crazy because some rapper by the name of Tech Nine was standing next to us.
Today, Kelli Rippa was in my friend's vehicle on Toy Story Mania and I had no clue, but her husband and one of their kids was in mine. I even heard my friend say "Hi Kelly!" and I was totally oblivious.
The same kid from earlier was freaking out today when we were in the elevator at AKL because some VP of Playstation or something was in it with us.

Okay, not at Disney but in Florida....

Lance Bass from 'NSync in a TGIF. I was ten years old and completely starstruck. The dork that I am said in front of him, 'I think I'm gonna faint.'

Not in Florida or anything Disney-related, I met Josh Groban 3 times (because he's my future husband although he doesn't yet realise it - sweetest guy alive), Mark Consuelos (Kelly Ripa's husband), John Leguizamo, Rupert (from the Hello Deli in NYC from David Letterman's show), Gaby Hoffman...if I think of more, I will post it. Oh! There was a celebrity named Cousin Brucie who I met recently and when my mom asked if I could have a picture taken with him, he said, 'She can have whatever she wants!' Whoa.

Tony Shaloub winked at me in NYC also. I saw David Letterman, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Bruce Willis whilst in NYC.

Saw Matt Dallas the actor who plays Kyle XY on ABC family at MVMCP on Friday Nov 30th. He sat right in front of us at Mickey's Philaharmagic and then he talked to us afterwards and we took pictures with him. He had a Dis CM (in a plaid vest) escorting him. He was a really nice young man.

That's so cool! Matt Dallas rocks!

I have never seen a celebrity, but honestly I have never looked either. I saw Steven Curtis Chapman narrate CP, but that has been it.

I am not wowed by celebrities, so I am not sure I would even notice. ;)

I do too. And what I find even more comical is that DJ's "boyfriend" Steve went on to do the voice of Aladdin.

I saw Dan Marino, and Mariah Carey when I worked at WDW.

Now I live in the "new Hollywood of the south" so I randomly see celebs around. Josh Brolin (DH was in W. with him) and Katie Holms are the big ones.

Sorry, but that quote is getting a little old:rolleyes: Yes, we all are fortunate enough to see Mickey, Minney, Donald, etc. but I will admit, I too enjoy looking for the television, music, movie celebrities when I am there. There is after all only one Disneyworld, so many are bound to visit at one time or another. I really enjoy the pictures some post as well. Not all celebrities act like they do not want to be acknowledged or photographed. If you search through the boards enough you will see some happily posing with families.

I was reading a post and it got me thinking that this would be a neat Thread to start.....

Let us know what famous person / celebrity that you ran into at any of the WDW parks.

Not where they were scheduled to do a performance but they were just there on vacation with family/friends.

We will start - we ran into Joey Fatone and Lance Bass a few years back just walking around the park. It was after Nsync stopped making CD's but before Dancing with the Stars.

Not in the parks but last year I ran into Brad Garrett (Robert from Everybody Loves Raymond) at the World of Disney store in NYC. I overheard a CM saying he was in the store while I was waiting for my son to come out of the bathroom. The world of Disney Store is 4 floors so we went on every floor looking for him. At first we did not see him and we were ready to leave and my younger son spotted him. He was shopping with his daughter. I was with my 2 boys and I told him that we were big fans of his and he shook our hands. At first he did not seem like he wanted to talk to us but when I told him we were big fans he was very nice. We left him alone after that. :cool1:

"Rico" from Hannah Montana (Funny bc he was also on our Disney Cruise with his family the week before, DD got a pic with him on the cruise but was too shy to go say anything to him at DL)
Kobe Bryant
Russell Simmons
Resse Witherspoon
"17 and Counting" Family

huuummmmm, I know there are more but I am drawing a blank!

I guess in CA we have an unfair advantage as we are close to "Hollywood"

Holly is a HUGE Disney fan! The dl sweatshirt she is wearing is one that she frequently wears in her interviews on the show.

the only people I saw in the parks as a tourist were Drew Carey at ToT (w/o his glasses, made him less obvious) and Jim Caviezel in Town Square in MK with his fam and tour guide.....and does meeting Julie Andrews at her book signing at MGM count? it was a great day HA

when I was working.....Doug Flutie, Gloria Estefan, Keshawn Johnson, and I had a bit of a convo with Sean Astin (and I proceeded to freak out 1 minute after he left).....I saw Julie Andrews when I was working, not expecting to see her walk by......I was in the middle of a sentence talking to a guest and she walked by and I was literally speechless...had to apologize to the guest, turn around, breathe, and continue helping the guest.....it was amusing HA

At WDW - I was there when the kicked off the Year of A Million dreams and saw Michael from Extreme Home Makeover walking around the park and Lance Bass (I think it was him - one of the boy band guys ;) ) - plus there were a lot of famous performers in the shows but they don't really count b/c it was in the show.

I had a walking tour of Disneyland guided by artist Harrison Ellenshaw. For those who don't know, Harrison's father Peter Ellenshaw was one of the three main artists who designed Disneyland and he worked on Disney classics such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Mary Poppins.

Harrison himself worked on films such as Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Ghost, and he helped do restoration work on Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.

It probably had nothing to do with the fact that he was wanting time on his vacation. DD (3) worked on the set of ER a few months ago. He was a JERK. He used fowl language, was full of himself, he just acted terrible infront of a child. Now mind you she was just about 3 so maybe he did not think it mattered but I was TOTALLY turned off! My DD's LOVE to watch Full House and it turns my stomach now to see him. I won't burst their bubble about Uncle Jesse but I will never look at him the same!

My sister's family went to WDW during one of the Star Wars Weekends last year, and since the kids were huge Star Wars fans they decided to head over to Hollywood Studios.

Anyway, the MC for the SWW is the guy that played the head EWOK in Star Wars. I can't think of his name, but he is a fairly well known actor.

So, BIL came home and had to admit that while in a gift shop, he accidentally, literally ran into or ran over this actor. I think BIL was mortified that he had walked over him without noticing him.

My mom says she ate next to Jonathan Frakes in Epcot.

On my last Disney Cruise, I swear Samantha Brown was on it. No cameras, no nothing, just her. I saw her several times and at first doubted very much that it was actually her, but when she sat down a row or so away from me in the theater, she moved exactly like SB does, so I am inclined to think it was her.

We were eating at Columbia Harbour House one summer and saw Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake - back when they were dating. There was a room closed off for them upstairs and they brought them up a back set of stairs. The room was an open area - no door - so we could see them, although bodyguards were posted at the entrance to that area so nobody could go in. Not that I would have anyway! We probably wouldn't have even noticed if it hadn't been for the "production" of bodyguards, closing off the room, etc.

I saw Marty Sklar at the gift shop in Coronado Springs Resort. I looked at the man and thought to myself "That looks like Marty Sklar!", then I noticed he had a Disney nametag on that said Marty. We just smiled at eachother and then he left. I still kick myself that I didn't say anything to him and thank him for everything he has contributed to the place I love so much! For anyone that doesn't know who he is, he worked with Walt Disney from the beginning and wrote many of his speeches, including the speech Walt gave at the opening of Disneyland that is now on the plaque of Main Street, USA.

"The Rock" you know the the wrestler and he is on The Game Plan.. going on the Goofy Coaster at MK..

My friends told me a few days after he came into work that I missed him! it was so sad! I might have flipped out.....but they waited to tell me the next week.....that must have been a great sight!!!

We probably wouldn't have even noticed if it hadn't been for the "production" of bodyguards, closing off the room, etc.

wow, that's impressive.......I didn't peg them for CHH fans ;) HAHAHA good to know those famous folk still enjoy WDW!

Plaxico Burress on January 2nd in line for Expedition Everest. He wasn't seen by me but my three best friends (we arrived the next day). They said he was with a security detail and lead separately into the line, where he and my friends freaked out over a huge bug on the glass and took pictures on their cell phones :lmao: ! They didn't say hi to him since they didn't want to bother him though. He must be enjoying his early retirement ;) ..Lord knows the first thing I'm doing when I retire is go to Disney!

On a sidenote...why is it that EVERYONE seems to see the lovely Mr. Favre but me?! I kept an eye out the whole trip..oh well, I guess that means I'm going to have to go more often!!

I also saw Top 7 Stacy from resort TV filming in Hollywood Studios. She's a FOX! :lovestruc

Top 7 Stacy haunts my dreams at night. After 8 days of seeing her 10,000+ times, I remembered 7 of the reasons why I'd stopped watching tv in Disney!

Wow!
I would have smothered him with a zillion questions! Probably a good thing I didn't see him :lmao:

Not an "at Disney" story, but still--
My dad sat next to X Atencio on a plane once when I was a little girl--only we didn't know just *who* he was at the time. My dad worked for Delta Airlines and was traveling to Atlanta on company business, and was seated in first class next to "a nice older gentleman who used to work for Walt Disney." They hit it off and talked the whole flight from Tampa, and my dad eventually told him how I was a huge fan of Mickey Mouse and all things Disney, and Mr. Atencio pulled out his personal Imagineering notepad, drew a Mickey, personalized it to me and signed it. It wasn't until many years later that I put two and two together and realized that he was a big-time, original Imagineer whose creations I idolized, and who really REALLY knew Walt and had worked with him. I don't even want to THINK about what that drawing is worth, but I would never sell it for anything!

So now every time I see him in an interview or one of the Imagineering manuals I think about that conversation my dad had with him and wish I had been there too. So many stories he could tell.

Back in th e90's we almost got run over by Rick Moranis goofing around on a hoverboard thingy in front of Journey. He came out of nowhere and was "flying" around and then went into the back!

Here is a list of celebs I have seen while visiting or working at the parks:
Drew Carey
Keyshawn Johnson
Kathy Lee Gifford (naughty kids!!)
Tia, Tamara and their brother
Stevie Wonder!!
Eric Estrada (nicest by far)
Deirdre Hall (rudest by far)
Kelly Ripa
Marc Consuelos
SUsan Lucci
Sal Governale (my favorite)
Todd Herzog from Survivor
Joey McIntyre (whoa)
Steven Tyler
Gregory Nicotero (special effects artist, my husband is a huge fan)
Mike Golick
Richard Karn (Home Improvement)
Evander Holyfield (danced right by him and never knew!)

There are more, but that is all I can think of right now!

A couple of years ago, when I went with a friend from Cape Cod and we were staying at the boardwalk.... We were walking on the boardwalk at night and saw Sinbad the comedian coming out of Spoodles with a group of people.... He was laughing and smiling then he turned and went up the stairs into the hotel..... We could not believe it....

My friend and I were kicking ourselves, the one time we didn't have a camera on us......

Next time we will not go anywhere without it. :cool2:

A few years ago we were staying at the BCV for a family reunion. We were enjoying a few "kitchen sinks" from Beaches and Cream and the kids were playing in the arcade. In the arcade was Eric Estrada playing video games with his daughter. He was very nice and was so happy to sign an autograph for my sister.

...this is how bad my family is at recognizing people. Years ago (I was 12, I'm not saying when it was :cool1: ), I was in LA with my aunt, and we went to the Palamino Club to see a friend of hers play. There was a table behind us with a bunch of guys at it, and everyone kept going over to them, greeting them, getting pictures taken, etc. We had no idea who they were. So my aunt walks up to them as says, "Excuse me - are you famous? Should I know you?" After I crawled out from under the table, she told me it was The Doobie Brothers. Then she said I should ask the lady at the end of our table for an autograph, so I did, and she very nicely signed one. When I got back to my seat, I read the signature - it was Shirley Jones, from the Partridge Family. So even if I DID run into a celeb at WDW, I would probably have no idea!

PS - "Excuse me - are you famous? Should I know you?" is now a huge running joke in our family.

Ricky Schroeder...yes, he goes by Rick now but when I met him he was still Ricky. It was 1980, and my family and I were staying at the Contemporary and he was filming a made-for-TV movie that was supposed to air on Wonderful World of Disney. This was before the Disney Channel! We were on the dock at MK waiting for the ferry to the Wilderness Campground to go to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. There was only 1 other family there waiting with us. My DH kept staring at the wife/mother and wondering where he had seen her before. Well, he finally figured out that she was Shauna Sand, a Playboy playmate. (Figures he knew her!) The best part is that at the time she was married to Lorenzo Lamas and he was a fine specimen of a man. They had their children with them and we rode the ferry together. They also had a personal CM guide. They sat at the table right next to us at the HDDR. Lorenzo was very nice, talked to my DH quite a bit. I will not say what I thought of Shauna. My mother once told me, "if you dont have something nice to say, say nothing."

Celebrities I have seen as a guest or CM are:
*Joey Fatone (I sat next to him during the 3pm parade at MK)
*Steve Young
*Rasheed Wallace
*Jorge Posada
*Mandy Moore (took a picture for her with Handy Manny)
*Warwick Davis (met him at SWW)
*Daniel Logan (SWW)
*Jake Lloyd (SWW)
*Dave Filoni (director of the newest Star Wars movie)

Anyway, the MC for the SWW is the guy that played the head EWOK in Star Wars. I can't think of his name, but he is a fairly well known actor.

So, BIL came home and had to admit that while in a gift shop, he accidentally, literally ran into or ran over this actor. I think BIL was mortified that he had walked over him without noticing him.

On behalf of BIL, here's a peace offering...:flower3:

In March 2008, I saw the country singer (and he was on celebrity apprentice last year) Trace Adkins standing outside the Jungle Cruise. He was wearing a doo-rag and looked BORED OUT OF HIS MIND! :rotfl2: His kids looked happy though. He had three little cute blonde girls with him.

Then a few days later we were waiting for our ressie outside the Coral Reef Restaurant. There was a group of strangely dressed people outside the door. They were wearing white leopard print hats and some were men dressed as women with crazy wigs. My friend with me freaked out because apparently one of them was a Playboy Bunny (she had a pin on her hat to indicate this???). She was one of the one's on The Girl's Next Door (a show I didn't watch but my friend did).

Whenever I see a CM with a plaid vest, I'm like, "Where's the CELEB???" It's a fun thing to do.

David Cook, this year in EPCOT.

I was at our hotel and my DD spotted him and stalked him a bit. When I caught up with her, he was having something to eat in Mexico. We waited and I got up my nerve and called his name. He was so sweet and nice! I told him what a huge fan I was and he told me that he loved my shirt (Cancer Sucks).

Last year while at Disney World we saw Ryan Key from Yellowcard & Chris Kirkpatrick from NSYNC together with the VIP people. We were going to go up to them, but for the life of me I couldn't remember Ryan's name so we just stood there on the side going through names trying to remember. And then they walked away

And then this past March me and my sister were at Disneyland and we saw Ed Begley Jr. or better known to us as Stan Sitwell from Arrested Development. She spotted him online at Soarin and asked me why he looked so familiar. And I instantly knew who he was. And then she goes "oh it's because he has hair" :lmao:

On one of my very first trips to Disney World, I spotted Muhammed Ali with a small group of people in Tomorrowland. We saw Troy Aikman and his family several years ago at SM in MK. They were getting on as we were getting off. Then, a few hours later, his group came into LTT to eat while we were eating there. One of our freinds' little boy (about 8 at the time) ran into him in the men's room and introduced himself to him! He said "Hi, I'm XX from Tuttle, Ok." and Mr. Aikman said , "Well, Hi, XX from Tuttle, Ok. I'm Troy Aikman.":rotfl2: He probably thought the kid was stalking him into the men's room!:lmao:

In all the times we have been to Disney World we have not seen any celebs. But at US we saw Joe Montana and his family. (Some one asked him for an autograph and he was very nice but told them No, not when I am with my family).
In Disneyland (2 or 3 years ago) we were having Dinner at Blue Bayou and Eric Estrada came in with a med size group (3 tables). Then as we were walking out I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and I almost got run over by a scooter. When I appologized DD realized it was the Roloff family from Little People Big World.

Our group stopped and talked by the exit to the ride, and she came out with the VIP person and whispered hi to all of us, and then hurried away. We didnt want to make a big scene, and she obviously didnt want one either, which is fine.

I saw Rosie O'Donnell riding CTX with her daughter (they were the car behind us and we waited to see their pic on the overhead screens. Our group stopped and talked by the exit to the ride, and she came out with the VIP person and whispered hi to all of us, and then hurried away. We didnt want to make a big scene, and she obviously didnt want one either, which is fine.

I saw Tara Lipinsky (Olympic skater) doing an interview a few year back after she won her medal.

Last year I saw Dick Vitale and Darrell Dawkins (former Philadelphia Sixer) in MK doing some kind of a promotional event on the lawn by the rose garden.

Thats cool

Tara Lipinski is my actually namesake, my parents were watching the olympics the year I was born and decided they liked the name Tara:)

we have had 2 sightings in my family. The first was my brother saw Chris Webber, basketball player for Michigan in 1993. My brother of course was wearing a UNC shirt and went and asked Chris Webber for his autograph. Chris Webber was the guy that called time out when they didn't have one, and Carolina won the game. But he was good spirited about my brother wearing the shirt.

This past christmas we saw John O'Hurley. It was his last night doing CP, and my mom and I were hotel hopping. He was getting out of his van, as we were waiting for the valet to bring our car around. So my mom asked if we could get our picture taken with him. He was very nice, and did it. Although the picture wasn't great, a little blurry.

In '94, we were waiting for a show at the Diamond Horseshoe Review, and DH says "I know that voice - who is that?" A moment later, Fran Drescher passed by with a small entourage going through Frontierland...

That's the only time we've seen a celebrity out in the parks (rather than in a parade, or doing something for a special event). Of course, I could probably have them walk in front of me, and never notice - I'm too busy having fun! ;)

Former cast member here... I used to work at the emporium. I've had a few sightings and experiences... It was my 2nd day working there, and one of the managers was taking me around kind of showing me some things helping me get my feet wet and Johnny Depp walked right by us... he was wearing a cigar shirt and a fedora and had a big smile on his face the whole time..he stopped and signed and even took a few pictures..I of course was working and with my manager and didnt get much time to see him.

One night while Spectromagic was running and nobody was in, Uma Therman walked in..I was one of 3 cast members who helped her pick out charms for a charm bracelet...that was really neat..she was extrememly friendly and even talked to us for about 5 minutes...but once spectro was over she had to jet out.

On another day(very early in the morning and I was extrememly tired because I had to work EMH the night before) I was stocking picture frames and somebody approached me for some help and said "excuse me sir but do you think you can help us out?" I look up and it was Triple H and Stephanie McMahon... I immediately stopped what i was doing..it was very early and there wasnt a lot of guests in there...They were extrememly friendly..I talked to them for about 10 minutes.. They were asking me how to get to certain attractions. They had their daughter with them.. but I've always been a big fan of his so that was really neat.

Other people I've seen come in are Kenyon Martin(NBA player) and Joan Rivers(my gf at the time was a cast member and actually helped her out)

I am with you on this one. Nothing annoys me more than people who think they are above everything.

But thankfully, I think that most celebrities are not like this when they are at places like WDW. I think most just try to blend in with the crowd and not be noticed.

You too could have this privledge. It is called a VIP tour. You can book it for $295 an hour with a 6 hour minimum. So if you have an extra $1800 go for it. This will give the entire party (max 10) unlimited instant FP.

Yes, I heard it allows you to ride as much as you want.

But honestly, I think they mostly do it to keep crowds from following them all day. Even the lamest of celebs will be hounded by some people.

DaveStroem
04-13-2009, 05:53 PM
What I am trying to say is that this special treatment is not because they are a celebrate. It is because they sprang for the VIP tour.

There is also a lower cost VIP package that still follows the same FP rules as the rest of us, but that the CM does the running. Personally, if I was laying out that kind of green I would want the unlimited instant version.

On another note, TT was fun, but I got board with it after the second time we rode it.

Although I didn't see any of the actors, my family and I were at WDW the same time that the show "Family Matters" was filming there back in 1995. One of our last nights there we were at Innoventions and my mom saw all these chairs and cameras, etc. and on the chairs it said Family Matters. I saw Fred Fox Jr's chair (his name was on it)- I believe he was a producer. We figured out they were filming the show and me being 11 years old and loved that show (this was the height of TGIF ABC! and when like every ABC show went to Disney World-Disney bought ABC) I just stood and watched. LOL, I wasn't actually watching anything, because they were going to film after the park closed (except for some crew people setting up- hardly anyone was there), but I just wanted to see someone from the show. My mom even wanted to see if I could be an "extra", but then we just eventually left.

Except for that set in Innoventions, that's all I saw of them filming. If I would've known earlier in the trip they were filming I probably would've kept an eye out for them- especially in the outdoor scenes. I still get excited when I see the Disney episodes of FM. I'm 25 and I will watch that show on Nick at Nite!

Not me, but a friend of my mom's and her family saw Bruce Willis and Demi Moore (and I assume their girls, too?) at a show there back in 1997.

This has been quite a fun thread!

Several years ago, when DH was 13 or 14 (I can't remember which - was either 2000 or 2001), his school's show choir went from Montgomery, AL to WDW to perform. It was at some huge performance thing with tons of different people there. They performed somehwere at the Magic Kingdom, I believe. Anyway, they had to go through the backstage area to get back on their bus after their performance, and Christina Aguilera (sp?) was there. This was after Mulan of course, but it was before she became really huge. Anyway, she complimented his show choir on their performance. DH had ended up with a solo in it, and she complimented him specifically. I also heard this story from another one of his schoolmates who was bitter about it. Hahaha. Really random. It is his claim to fame though. Heehee. :dance3:

Oops, I forgot about this... the same trip (actually the same day) that we saw NPH at AK, we also saw Drew Lachey and his Dancing with the Stars partner (I don't know her name) at the AKL while we were waiting to eat at Boma. We were with my MIL and SIL that trip and neither of them had recognized NPH, but they recoginzed Drew Lachey and this lady right away because they are addicted to that show which I have never seen. They were standing right in the middle of the entrance to the AKL with some other folks and looked like they were trying to decide where to eat. We did not take any pictures because we were like 2 feet from them and thought this would be awkward! She was wearing some sort of full body skin tight body suit:confused3 which was what DH noticed;) I believe that they were in WDW for the taping for the Christmas Parade the next day.

I saw Joey Fatone on our trip in March. I saw him heading up Main St. (toward the Castle) while I was sitting on the curb waiting for the parade. He was with his family & his daughter was blindfolded. Must have been surprising her with something! I tried to get a picture of him, but my camera didn't cooperate. I was so disappointed as I was (am) such a huge Nsync fan back in the day. I sent a text to friends & family telling them and they all laughed at me. My husband thought I was a dork, too. BUT the guy sitting next to me also recognized Joey and his wife looked at us like we were both insane. :lmao:

I have been to Disney World Florida over 12 times, and just this past Saturday, May 2, I had my first celebrity sighting, actually encounter. It was Phoebe Cates. I was just walking along in Hollywood Studios toward the staircase in front of Little Mermaid, and I glanced up, and she was right there. I didn't realize who I was looking at for a sec, so I glanced at her again, and I saw her look at me, and I looked away. So, then I looked at her one more time to confirm what I think I saw, and she smiled at me. I think she got that I had just triple taked her.

The Osmonds like Disney I guess!
They do. Back in 1970, The Osmonds starred in a surreal made-for-TV film called "Disneyland Showtime". In the movie, The Osmonds, their "manager", their buddy Kurt Russell, and up-and-coming actress E.J. Peaker, all spend the day singing and dancing through Disneyland, with their day culminating in a visit to the (then) brand-new Haunted Mansion. The surreal part comes when, right before they go to the HM, Kurt Russell looks straight and the camera and narrates a behind-the-scenes making-of piece about the HM. Weird, but amazingly cool stuff!

Last June (2008) we saw Shaquille O'Neil (sp?), "Shaq" at Epcot. He was there with his family and they were escorted into Turtle Talk with Crush before the rest of us (and the crowd) He was lying on the floor and his two daughters were next to him. Of course Crush focused on him and his daughters but fortunately he asked one of my DDs a question as well. :)

We did not bother him; I don't remember seeing anyone asking him for a picture of autograph. I think that most people were like us and respected his time with his family.

We saw him June 2008 at MK! So we must've been there the same time! :)

Years ago at DL we saw Stephen Spielburg with his family. They were trying to blend in so we just smiled and left them alone. My DH always spots celebs a mile away.He is always like " isn't that (celeb)?" I used to say no way but he's always right! We were at the Ritz Carlton in KC. and he said "thats Howie Mandel!" He was right of course. We spoke to him at length and he sent us champagne and tickets to his stand up show that evening! :goodvibes

Speaking of Howie Mandel.......two years ago we were standing watching the Public Works guys at Hollywood Studios and Howie was sitting on the curb right next to us.......we didn't even realize it was him (I think he may have had sunglasses and a baseball hat on.....not sure) ......until one of the Public Works guys (Frankie, I think)......made some offhand reference to "deal or no deal" and looked right at him. But, my point is, if a celebrity is taking a low profile, by NOT having a private guide, etc., chances are very likely a large percentage of people will not even recognize them. Same thing at VB last May....a few days before we got there a lot of guests were saying Jon BonJovi and his family were there ......several people got pictures of him in the pool from a distance. The pictures certainly did look like him, however, if I had been there and seen him, it would never have occurred to me that he and his family would be there without special consideration and I would have simply thought it was someone who looked like him.....they kept a very low profile.....and no one bothered them. Sometimes, if celebrities act like celebrities with the entire entourage it brings much more attention to them.......are you listening, celebrities.

On our honeymoon in June 2007, DH and I saw Melissa Joan Hart as we were checking in at the GF. She noticed our wedding Mickey hats and congratulated us. She told us that she and her family were leaving and offered us one of those Disney spray bottle fans they had used, saying it was pretty handy in the heat (we lovingly call it the "Melissa Joan Hart bottle" now!).

On our way down from our room one day to grab some food at Gasparillas, we passed by one of the large suites and a small group of people leaving it. We were completely oblivious waiting for the elevator when woman asked us if we had just gotten married. It was Celine Dion. She was very nice and congratulated us. DH had no idea who it was till we got into the elevator.

I didn't ask for pictures or autographs - they're on vacation, I don't want to bother them. Still, it was pretty cool to see them both!

Several years ago, we were in EPCOT and throughout the day, my older son (who was about 10 at the time) kept saying that he was seeing the guys from N'Sync. They were just becoming popular at the time, so I had no idea what they looked like. I told him he was probably just seeing someone who looked like them. Later that evening, as we were getting ready to leave, we saw a stage set up and huge crowds of people. We asked the CM what was going on and he said they were getting ready to tape the N'Sync Christmas special and we were welcome to be in the audience.

Two years ago, younger DS and I were there the first week of December when they were taping the Christmas parade. We saw The Jonas Brothers, Regis and Kelly, the blonde girl from HSM, and a few others. Wandering the park we also saw the new Menudo with their escorts. I saw a man that I knew I recognized with two beautiful little girls and a VIP escort but I couldn't place his name until about 15 minutes later. It was Russel Simmons. And we were going into the ESPN club for lunch and a very visible group was leaving. We didn't pay much attention, but when we got seated, the waitress told us we had just missed Jessica Simpson.

Last year on a school field trip, my son and his friend met Joey Fatone at Planet Hollywood. They said he was very nice and he posed for pictures.

When I was a CM in monorails (around '90), I saw Dana Carvey (from Sat. Night Live - the Church Lady days!) & also Geddy Lee from Rush. Oh, Joe Namath rode in my front cab one night, too. (Can you tell who I was more impressed by?!)

Cool. I was there in February 1990, waiting in line for POC, when my then-BF told me that Geddy Lee was standing in line a few people behind us. I turned around and sure enough, there he was. There really is no mistaking him! :rotfl: My BF was wearing a Hold Your Fire t-shirt too. Geddy was there with a woman and small child though, so we didn't say anything to him. A few days later, the Presto tour opened in Florida. I'm glad you posted this so that I know that we weren't crazy, we really did see him.:goodvibes

I always got the impression he was a pretty down to earth nice guy. Wouldn't mind meeting him. Another celebrity noted for being very down to earth and very good to his fans is Johnny Depp. From what I head on the news recently when he was here in Chicago he spent quite a lot of time signing autographs and taking pictures. Now that that is one celebrity I really wouldn't mind meeting!!:lovestruc

Back in 1997 or 1998 my mother sat next to what she described as "a tall attractive woman" on the Tower of Terror. They had a nice conversation during the ride, screamed on the drops, and went their separate ways" Mom said that when she got off the ride and was walking along next to this woman, people were asking for pictures and autographs, which she did pleasantly enough. My mother asked one of the autograph seekers "Who was that?" and they said "What? Check the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. That's Tyra Banks!"

On our very first family trip the Disney World, we were in line for It's a Small world, about to board our boat. I was about 6 or 7. I remember my mom hitting my dad so hard he almost fell into the water. She started pointing like crazy to the boat in front of us!! We all looked over and it was HULK HOGAN and his family!! We were in the boat right behind them! We didn't bother them or anything, my parents said that it was their vacation as well! Then the funniest thing happened... when we got off the ride, my sister who was 5 at the time suddenly was missing when. My parents started freaking out. My dad ran off into the crowd while my mom stayed with me and my other two sisters. Finally about 2 minutes later my dad comes back with my sister by the arm. My mom asks her "What were you thinking!?" And she says.."I wanted to touch the Hulk!":rotfl: We were all pretty big wrestling fans when we were younger, so it was def. something else!!

The history/trivia buffs may like this post. . .

In 1993 I went to a taping at MGM Studios of a syndicated show called "The Countdown at the Neon Armidillo" featuring an up and coming County Star - Toby Keith :) (I think it's safe to say he was on his way up!). Ironically the set looked nothing like the actual inside of the Neon Armidillo on Pleasure Island.

Around the time I also saw Meg Ryan and Demi Moore at Splash Mountain. They were there with their husbands at the time Dennis Quaid and Bruce Willis working on a deal with Disney to open Planet Hollywood.

But my favorite celebrity sighting was listening to James Earl Jones narrate the Candlelight Processional. Back then the Processional was still in the MK and it was incredible hearing James Earl Jones retell the Christmas Story. It's one of my favorite Disney memories!

When I was there with my family back in 1991, we saw a family of four wearing matching yellow shirts with "Berra Family Reunion" on them, needless to say my Dad approached the young family and asked if they were any relation to Yogi Berra - sure enough they were. Dad was a good boy and didn't stalk to find him, but we did finally see him with his family in Epcot.

That same trip, my brother and I sat next to Jami Gertz in the concierge lounge at the GF, she was with her family having breakfast, I wanted so badly to say hello but I didn't want to bother her on her family vacation. I loved The Lost Boys.

Two years ago we saw The Rock getting off SW at MK while we were getting on and then walked right past him a few times throughout that day. He was there with his family and CM guiding them. Apparently he was promoting the new Mummy ride at Universal that week.
The next person is probably not a celebrity to anyone else but for some reason my husband and I got hooked on the DUMBEST reality show on VH1, Rock of Love with Brett Michaels. Well, one season there was this CRAZY, PSYCHO chic, Lacey. If anyone thinks they may know, she has red long hair? CRAZY! lol Anyways... we saw her and a bunch of friends come in the AKL lobby and head down to Jiko. She was so loud and annoying just as she was in Rock of Love.

Over the years we have run into a few celebrities, although if your to young you might not know some of these.

Larry Holmes - Boxer

Pat Morita - Karate Kid

Ben Vereen - Roots & Broadway

Peter Graves - Original Mission Impossible series. You really need to be 50+ to know who he is.

And of course I did not have my camera with me except for Ben Vereen. I have a great picture with him.

I had seen them walking around a little earlier, and I just knew they had to be "somebody" (I wasn't sure what the family looked like at the time). But I sought out the sign with their pictures on it, and verified who they actually were. So, I snapped this a little while later.
