We've been to WDW 13 times and I still haven't seen a celebrity. I'm like a bunch of the previous posters.....unless they introduced themselves to me, I'm not paying attention. I'm just having my Disney fun.
Our friends stayed at the Boardwalk and they saw Muhammad Ali (Spelling?)

When I was at Animal Kingdom last month (November 9th) a professional basketball team was arriving as I was leaving, midafternoon. I have no idea who they were. Their uniforms were mostly blue.
I missed that..................I arrived on Nov 9th and didn't see anyone at AKL or in WDW  I never seen a celeb in WDW

A few year back my family and I had just finished riding Splash Mountain and we were looking at the ride photos. Our picture was nothing too special but we recognized Micheal J. Fox and what appeared to be his kids in the photo after us! Hopefully I'll have more to report after my trip (12/14-12/22)!

You know, I've often wondered how many celebs just put on a baseball hat and sunglasses and wing it. I mean, if they go the celeb route and get a "plaid vested" guide, the public KNOWS they're someone famous and everyone is then very curious. I don't know about anyone else, but, I truly don't pay a huge amount of attention to other guests around me as I'm enjoying my WDW visit and probably would not even notice someone unless they had a guide with them or perhaps if they were directly in front or behind me in a line for any length of time.

Saw Matt Dallas the actor who plays Kyle XY on ABC family at MVMCP on Friday Nov 30th. He sat right in front of us at Mickey's Philaharmagic and then he talked to us afterwards and we took pictures with him. He had a Dis CM (in a plaid vest) escorting him. He was a really nice young man.

Actually, the vast majority of VIP tour guides (plaid vests) are escorting "Joe Schmoes" who would rather spend $150/hour for an efficient park visit than actually plan their day on their own.
Normally a "celebrity" could walk up and bite me on the nose and I'd have no idea who they were. In the case of Mr. Harris, I was expecting him to be at Epcot (since he was narrating CP that evening) so when I saw the VIP tour guide I figured his guest was Mr. Harris and I happened to be correct.

We saw Dennis Franz and his family at Spoodles on Saturday night (Dec 1) and then again getting on the It's A Small World ride on Sunday morning (Dec 2).
He seemed like he was a having a great time with his grandchildren with his Mickey T-Shirt on and everything.
I believe he was in town for the readings at Epcot! Seemed like a really nice guy....he was very appreciatative of the staff at Spoodles and their "tour guide".

Many celebrities count on the fact that there is no easy way to find out such things.

We were there 11/25-12/1 and we saw....Neil Patrick Harris, Helio Castraveras ( the Indy car driver/Dancing with the stars ),and Jessica Simpson. I know that Jessica was scheduled to perform in front of the castle for the Christmas taping. Patti Labelle was also supposed to be there. I too, didn't think that I would recognize a celebrity while there and was surprised to pick Helio out considering I don't watch Indy car racing or Dancing with the Stars...lol!

My DD and I just got back and saw Gloria Estephan (sp) and her family on November 28th at Animal Kingdom. DD was riding Dinosaur and I was waiting where the pictures come up. Gloria walked off the ride and right past me. She is a tiny little thing and had on a bandana and her hair in pig tails. She did have two plaid vested guides with her, but her group was huge. We saw her again about an hour later and rode on Everest at the same time. She seemed like she was having a great time, but I had to giggle at the plaid vested guys riding a few seats behind her on Everest.

Kurt Cameron and his family were there for the Christmas reading at Epcot. His wife and ALL OF HIS KIDS (there are a lot of them) were in the Boardwalk Hotel's gift shop buying things for the room.

I saw Kelly Ripa at the GF on 11/29/07  . We had a 9:40am ADR for 1900PF and she was standing in the lobby with her entourage. I tried to discreetly point her out to my family but only a few of them saw her.

September of '06, I almost actually ran into Kobe Bryant when walking through the World Showcase in Epcot one night. The funny thing was that earlier that week when we were in the MK, we wanted to ride POTC but it was closed at the time, and the rumor was that Kobe Bryant was in there riding it. Wasn't totally sure if that was true at the time, but it turns out that it was.

I have the ultimate WDW/celebrity story.
My DH and I were in WDW for Mardi Gras of 2006. Our last day there, we went to Epcot. We went to Soaring and were sick of being stuck on the last row on the end (every freaking time that trip). So when I saw how many were in front of me and our number was up AGAIN, I asked the CM nicely "Is there any way we can sit in the middle ... towards the front." He motioned for us to go forward and to my dismay, I saw three people already waiting for the prime seats. DANG! So we went to row 2 and leaned on the rail towards them.
Then I heard the voice ...
then I looked up ...
then I saw Roy Disney himself ... three inches from me!!!! EEK!!
So, it was just myself, my DH, Roy and his wife and a Disney Ambassador for the longest time. Should I talk to him? Should I bug him? Should I attempt to take a pic of myself with him in the background? OMG, he is the closest being I have ever seen to Walt himself!
I decided not to bug him ... mostly at the influence of my husband. I mean, Roy was trying to be somewhat low-key, obviously. So there I stood ... next to Roy Disney for the entire pre-show then had his shoes hanging in my face the entire ride. As we all left the ride, he went the opposite direction and ran into me, face to face, as people who were too excited snapped pics and blinded the man with flashes.
The pre-show was funny though. As soon as it started, he said "That's Elaine's boyfriend!" Roy is a Seinfeld fan!

On 11/30/07 DW and I walked into EPCOT next to Dave Matthews. I heard him talking and knew his voice right away. He was like 6 feet away from us, very cool.

I could literally run into Johnny Depp and not know it, I am too busy trying to have fun in the world to care who else is there. Of course if Cpt Jack himself ran into me, I might notice a bit, but otherwise I am just too Disney high to notice anyone else!
yep! same here I just don'tnotice "celebrities" at WDW, they're just other folks having a good time same as me.:thumbsup2

A long time ago- in 1987- I was in 10th grade- they stopped the line for Space Mountain and let Motley Crue ride.
That was pretty exciting considering how big they were in the late 80s!

We saw Roy and his wife in the Animations building in MGM. We were walking through to get to the character greeting and a couple CMs ran past whispering (quite loudly) that Roy was headed over. When we got in line, we asked the CM there and he said yeah, they were told Roy was "in the building."
When we got home, I told everyone that I saw Roy. A real live "Disney" afterall- who wouldn't be impressed!!!!

Gloria Estefan and her family were in the boat ahead of us on Splash Mountain last Saturday. I didn't realize it until after we got off and saw her in the waiting area where they show your picture. I guess I could have bought hers if I'd wanted to! I think she was there for taping the Christmas parade.

Yeah, another thing with Roy Disney, the CM in our loading area, I caught her eye and mouthed while pointing slightly "Is that Roy Disney?" Her eyes darted back and forth and with a big smile she mouthed "no" and then kept smiling. I caught her eye again and we both had big grins. I'm guessing she was thinking "OMG, if I confirm it is him and this woman causes a scene, I'll be fired!"

Just got back on December 2nd from a wonderful trip to the WORLD and we saw so many celebrities. I'm sure it was because they were filming the Holiday Parade that weekend, but we saw Kelly Ripa at the California Grill, Regis Philbin at Beaches N' Cream, KYLE XY at The Beach Club Pool,
Sabrina and Mark and Joey and Kim from Dancing with the Stars at the Magic Kingdom.
It was so fun to see them!!!
Looking forward to our return trip in March! YIPPPEEEEE --

Do they take the monorail back to the Polynesian if they are staying there or do the get their own 'Special' bus?
I asked a CM at The Hall of Presidents a ton of questions about celebrities too. The CM kept coming out by me and my dh. We were waiting for Spectro to start. The CM told me a lot of celebrities use different doorways to get into rides. He said many stay at the Floridian or the Poly since they have use of the mono-rail. When they visit other parks he said, they have a special driver like a cab service take them.

I'm 99.9% sure we saw the lead singer of of The All American Rejects Tyson Ritter and Chris Gaylor with a female who I believe is Tyson's girlfriend last night. We were exiting the tran in Frontier Land when we noticed them because the girl was dressed like Minnie Mouse. I thought "wow" that guy looks like the guy from AAR and then I saw the VIP guide. Hum. Of course the camera was in the car.

I haven't seen any celebrities in disney except for samantha brown from the travel channel. But i did spend a week with mike Eisner's son about 10 years ago. My then boyfriend now husband played hockey for a junior league and his roommate was Micheal Eisners son for tryouts. I stayed with him that week because I had to drive him to tryouts in another state because he couldn't drive.
Anyways....his tutors were there with him, his butler would call many times a day, he had an assistant, chef etc. He couldn't beleive how we lived our lives after talking with us. He at the time was living in Hollywood so we was telling us about his life and how he had a montly hUGE allowance. He was telling us about his cars, his celebrity friends and his exciting life. He didn't have much interest in disneyworld itself but said he had been about 40 times. He didn't make the team and the players thought the coach was nuts!! Think of the great uniforms and perks the team would have had if he made it!! The host family to have him would be one lucky family.

He wasn't sure it was him at first, but so h and his buddy went back to double check and sure enough it was!!! He said he would never have known it was him if his friend hadnt seen him.
He also saw Cat Cora from the Food Network filimg her new show at JIKO!!
I didn't see any famous people on my lates trip though :headache:

I didn't see her in Disney but I did see Melissa Joan Heart the other day walking around a small village near my home. It is called Sayville Village in NY (Long Island). She was walking with her husband and young son. She had no make-up on and some comfortable clothing. She looked like any other mom. It was so exciting to see her five minutes from my house. We left her and her family alone. She clearly wanted it that way. So I know it wasn't a WDW siting but it was exciting none the less. Thought I would share the experience.;)

In 2002 so before Pirates came out I was at Disneyland in California and almost flattened Johnny Depp as I came off Space Mountain. Surprisingly he wasn't accompanied by bodyguards, though he wasn't as big back then, and was just blending in very well with the crowd. I hadn't even realized who it was until half way through my "I'm sorry" and so I added "Mr. Depp" when I did realize. He smiled, told me it was "quite alright" (I'll always remember the wording) and that he hadn't been paying attention either as he was excited to get on the way to his next ride. I didn't have my camera with me, which my wife still torments me about, but it was a once in a lifetime experience I will always treasure. With the success of Pirates I doubt he'll ever be unaccompanied at any Disney park again.

When I was at MK in March I saw a lady with two kids (Now I don't know if they were boys or girls) walking around with two people in plaid vests, it never occured to me that she could be someone famous, even though I saw her. My son asked about them and I said the kids may be someone from Make a Wish foundation and this was their wish.
Now I'm thinking I wonder if she was someone famous.
Guess like a few other posters I was to busy enjoying myself to even think about being close to someone famous.

side note: it couldn't have been someone famous because make-a-wish officially doesn't go through disney...they stay at ...I can't remember the name but it's a plmace off property and they don't have special cast treatment so they wouldn't have a cast member lead them around...(disability enterance to rides is probaby extreamly common though)

I had to have been about 8 years old at the time (I am now almost 26), but I had a preteen encounter with Joey Mcyntire of New Kids on the Block at MGM Studios in 1990. He was looking at hats outside of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular when my family and I spotted him. I was in LOVE with him and his "group" at them time and my dad approached him asking for an autograph for me. Joey didn't respond but his bodyguard said that Joey wouldn't be signing any autographs. My dad said that he wanted to hear Joey say that, and he would up going back and forth with his bodyguard for a few minutes, in eachothers faces and such. Needless to say, I didn't get the autograph but we have always loved telling the story of how my dad almost got into a fight with Joey Mcyntire's bodyguard in WDW.

I finally had my first celebrity encounter on my most recent trip (that's after about 25 "celebrity-less" trips) when I encountered Neal Patrick Harris. It was after the last CP of the night on 11/30. We were both in the German pavillion-I was getting CS, he was looking for a brew. After looking around, he consulted with his plaid guide and they went inside Biergarten. I wanted to go up to him and say "You've just recited the Christmas Story at WDW 3 times, what are you going to do now?" "I'm going to have a cold beer.":thumbsup2

I ran into Britney Spears a long time ago at Disney Quest. And when I say "ran into" I mean literally, as I was running full speed. haha
It was before "Hit Me Baby One More Time" became big and she was signing autographs. I didn't even realize it was her till my mom told me as we were pulling out of the parking lot. It was only then I remembered seeing her on the Disney Channel. haha I must have been about 8 or 9 years old.
Way too funny now that I look back on it! :lmao:

Does she still have a house here on Long Island? I know she grew up in Sayville but I thought she moved to CA. Maybe she was visiting family. It wasn't at Disney, but at IOA. Earlier in the year, my friends and I saw Chris Daughtry and his band there. We were there for the Mardi Gras concert series and he was performing that night. Anyway, my friends decide to ride Dr. Doom, which is one ride I refuse to do. They get off, and my friend says "Call me crazy, but I think Chris Daughtry from American Idol was right behind me in line!" Sure enough, a moment later, he and his entire band walk out of the exit, escorted by an employee. It was pretty cool! I'm really surprised they didn't offer him front of the line access, or maybe they did, and he refused it.
We never saw his concert either -crowds starting lining up for it over 2 hours ahead of time, and my friend's gf was tired and didn't want to hang around.

Can anyone please tell me about these guides? I have seen them with families on our last two trips. Not with famous families or anything, but I want to know what is the advantage of doing this? I can understand with celebrities or even when parks are packed, but this was the last week of October and there were very light crowds. The guide was even pushing the stroller with the parents walking next to it. Are these really wealthy people who just don't want to wait in any lines (I am assuming this is an advantage)? I have always been so curious! What is the cost to do this?

I worked in Television for so many years and met quite a few people I think I'm immune to the celeb thing. I suppose meeting Tony Bennett was the highlight of it all. Anyways I consider myself a people watcher normally, but when I'm at Disney I'm totally absorbed in the experience. It was actually my SIL that pointed out the person being escorted by their VIP guide in Dinoland AK.
We both recognized him from somewhere but couldn't figure out where. Finally it hit me...it was a guy from a soap I used to watch for about 2 years...All My Children. I couldn't have told you the guys name at the time...actually I had to search it up with my limited knowledge on that Soap. lol His name is Vincent Irizarry and he played Dr. David Hayward, and apparently now plays David Chow on Y&R. I like how creative Soaps are with changing character names. *snerks* Apparently it had been that Soap day several days previous and I suppose he stuck around to have fun with his family.

According to our Keys to the Kingdom tour guide who does many of the celebrity tours, only the very high profile celebrities get to enter the rides from a back door. Cher and Mariah Carey came to his mind. Other than that, it's just wealthy families that don't want to have to think about what to do next. Tour guides handle getting fastpasses, they get tables for them at meals, they guide them through the parks according to what rides will be least crowded, etc. I think he said the guides run about $150 an hour.
The only celebrity I've spotted at WDW was Lou Diamond Phillips. Had his wife and kids with him on Rock n Roller Coaster. He was in line just like the rest of us, however his bodyguard was holding one of his daughters.

We saw Britney Spears performing her hit song "Hit Me Baby, One More Time" for a Easter parade back in 1999. This was back when she was young, fresh-faced, and squeaky clean - coming off her time on the MMC. :)
And in 2002 my friends and I ate at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant at DTD. All of the chefs were coming around and asking how our food was. It was pizza, nothing special but we liked it and said so. A bit later on, we were in a store and my friend picked up a book only to realize that one of those chefs WAS Wolfgang Puck. Whoops.

Regis and Kelly, taping the Christmas parade on Main St.;Bruce Jenner sat behind us at Fantasmic(the lady next to me had seen Ann-Margaret going in the night before); John Travolta in the first car of our monorail-I think he may have been doing a wish-trip because he was pushing a little boy in a wheelchair and the mother and other bro. were behind him. He was very sweet-totally focused on the kid he was with. My dh was in the elevator at the Contemporary a few years back when they had the DEM. convention with John Edwards.

I met author/humorist Dave Barry at the Contemporary when he was doing a book signing last year. It's actually the second time I met him, as he spoke at my university in college years ago. He even remembered the occasion and some of the jokes he made (and this is going back like 10 years)! He's really a nice, funny guy, and I love his sense of humor.

A few years ago when Aladdin first came out. We saw Gilbert Godfrey. He was on the parade float that day. We saw him a few times during the day and said hi as we passed him but didn't make a big scene, (honestly we didn't really know who he was. Knew he was famous but not from where.) Anyways after passing him 6 or so times we were on the line for the Haunted Mansion and he came up to me and asked if he could ride with me as his wife wanted to sit that one out. He told me he was Abu in Aladdin and I should see the parade. He arranged for vip seating for us with the cm with him. And as he passed us he screamed out "Hey Terrie what's up?" Meet me at Space Mountain. Of course 1000's of people heard him say that so they all rushed there and he didn't come.

Several years back i was with a friend in Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. We were in France and we saw Peter Noone, from Hermans Hermits. I was video taping and I recognized him. Later on, we were walking around France, after I put the camera up and we spotted him. My friend and I nicely said Hi to him and he was very nice...down to earth and friendly.
I forgot to add..another year several years back - we saw Faith Ford walking around. We were there for the Christmas Day Parade taping. All I did was wave to her and she waved back. She was filming a clip near the Castle.

DH said no, he just looks like him(he looks exactly like him) and she pretty much pushed our daughter out of the way to get near my husband. Finally we get out of the elevator and she follows us, begging for an autograph and following us around. As people begin to stare, DH grabs my Epcot map, signs it and hands it to the woman. 2 years ago we saw Celine Dion at the MK in Spash Mountain. She and her family stopped right in front of me ( I could have touched her she was so close). It was funny, no one seemed to recognize her. My husband and I had switched off riding while our son was asleep in the stroller. I had no one to share the moment with! Luckily he got off the ride in time to see her too. I am sure he would have thought I was crazy or something. The funny thing was that nobody else seemed to recognize her. She looked really normal. It was probably her husband I noticed first. Of course now everytime we see her we say "we've vacationed with her" :thumbsup2

Kudos, to those who treat celebs like regular folks! Most of the time, celebs are escorted through the parks through backstage areas for their protection. It really is a shame they can't enjoy the onstage magic with their kids without being mobbed.
If you do see one out and about with their family please be kind and keep your distance and let them enjoy their vacation.
My DD just became a WDW CM and that is one of the golden rules of working there - you must treat the celebs just like everyone else - although I'm sure there are some that just demand to be treated like primadonnas, but unless they're asking for that, CM's must pretend they are regular joes.;)

One day we decided to go to Planet Hollywood for lunch. When we got there, there were hundreds of people lined up to go in. We had never been there before, and I thought "boy, is this place ever busy". Non the less, we found a cm, and asked him how we get in with a wheelchair. He directed us to another cm, who was busy with someone saying "absolutly no one is to get in until Mr. Schwartzenager gets here.". Then it was my turn. I asked him how do we get in with a wheelchair, and he said "Oh, right this way". He escorted us up the elevator and we were having our salad by the time Arnold arrived.:cloud9: :dance3: :cheer2:

On our 1st visit to WDW back 2 years ago we saw Tom Bergeron at the Coral Reef. it's pretty cool because he has a home near where we live. He actually came to say hi to us because I was wearing my UNH Hockey t-shirt so he came to ask if we were from NH (which of course we are). It's funny because my mom used to work with him well over 20 years ago when he worked at a local radio station, WAY before he hit it big on ABC with DWTS and AFHV. He hasn't changed a bit! Still as funny as ever.

I saw Hugh Hefner and his girlfriends Holly, Bridget and Kendra the last time I was at WDW in Feb 05. They had come down to FL for Hef's annual Super Bowl party (the Super Bowl was in Jacksonville that year). We actually ended up running into them at every park we went to... apparently they had the same itinerary as us I was super excited b/c I loooove Holly! And this was before the girls were really famous... their show had not come out yet. I will have to say that Hef looks REALLY old in person (obviously he is old). He just barely shuffled along behind the girls. I have some pics but they were taken with an old timey camera (35mm lol) and I have no scanner

A couple years ago we stayed at AKL. There was a pro bass tourney that weekend and many of the pros were there. I have no idea who any of them were, but they all had their "uniforms" on walking around the lodge. The one guy I did "meet" though was interesting. There was an ESPN Special about him years back that I saw. He has a half an arm and ties his tackle with his mouth and toes. He was born with these disabilities and I really cant remember too much about him, but right away I knew it was this guy because he was in a wheelchair and had obvious disabilities. I said "good luck" and he said thanks and that was it. Im not good on spotting celebs, but he was tough to miss. My father-in-law has sat on planes next to Jon Bon Jovi and James Cavezial(sp)(Jesus) and a number of other celebs as he travels a lot. None at DW though.

It's funny, I actually had no idea who he was, but while we were at the gate a lot of people (mostly tween girls and what not) kept running up to him and getting autographs and taking pictures with him. Well, if you are an X Files fan like me you can appreciate this. I saw Assistant Director Skinner AKA Mitch Pileggi at the Magic Kingdom back in 2001. It was a surreal trip. 9/11 happened the day before (our first day of a a grand gathering) and the parks were closed to all except those staying on property. The crowd levels were low as it was being September and all, but the place was really empty.

When I was a in the College Program I worked Epcot Outdoor Foods. Our base was right beside where the chauffeured cars with all the big wigs parked to escort the guest into the park without hitting the front gates. (It is right behind the gate between TT and MS for those interested.) Anyways, whenever the cars would roll up, we would see if it was someone we recognized. Usually it was just dudes in suits, but there were a few notable mentions:
-Yellowcard
-a pop group that had 3 girls (forgot the name)
-Paris Hiton
Also, I saw Joe Montana walking around a Spring Training game for the Atlanta Braves during a brief stint at DWWS. So needless to say, also got to see the Braves, Yankees, & lots of other teams and became friends with the guy in charge of the bat boys (seriously, how do you get that job??)

Forgot to add - We couldn't even take a picture with said person because oh my little fan would be so excited to have that now!!

Last Easter break my DS went and used the restroom by POTC. He was only 8 at the time and I did the bad mommy thing and let him go in alone (last time I did that BTW). All of a sudden, he comes running out saying "Mom - You know that tall guy from Raymond? HE WAS IN THE BATHROOM!" I started giggling and said, "Are you sure?" And sure enough, here comes Brad Garrett. He had 2 kids with him and got to go into the "special entrance" to POTC. Lucky guy. He wasn't being bothered by anyone but you could tell that people were recognizing him when he passed by. He is VERY tall.

On a recent trip, my wife and I saw Phil Donahue walking through the Animal Kingdom last year. I did not recognize him at first but his voice completely gave it away. My wife chased him down like paparazzi and snapped a picture.
A few years back I saw Sam Cowart, who was playing for the New York Jets at the time.

I'm pretty sure they mean they saw Steven Tyler there. He was dressed in costume so nobody knew he was there and he got to walk in the parade. I don't see why you couldn't tell people that though, odd.

I saw Kyle Massey from "It's so Raven" on our flight from LAX to Orlando. It's funny, I actually had no idea who he was, but while we were at the gate a lot of people (mostly tween girls and what not) kept running up to him and getting autographs and taking pictures with him. He was with his family, and I overheard his father (he sat in the row in front of me) telling another person that they were staying at AKL.
Still, it was kind of neat. Seems like a really nice kid.
Were you in Disney in August 2007? We were there and saw Kyle Massey at the Tower of Terror ride. He must be up there with Mariah and Cher because he went out the side door - the one to the right of the tv screens that show your picture. He was with a small group of people and 2 disney guides.

Some of you may not know him, but we saw country singer Mark Wills (or maybe Willis?) at Beaches and Cream in January 2006. I had heard his song "It was 1970 something..." but had no clue who sang it. My niece at the time was 7 and she kept looking at him over and over. Finally my sister told her to quit "looking at that man and eat!" My niece finally spoke up and said "I recognize him but don't know from where"... we were all like "ok"....and kept eating.
Well, "the man" finally came over - he had noticed my niece starring at him. He knelt down next to her and asked her, "I look familiar to you don't I?" She said yes, and blurts out, "you sing that 'something' song!" He said, "your right! I'm Mark Wills and I sing that 'something' song."
Of course I think its some weirdo just saying this and I said something like "no way".....he said, "yes I am" and laughed. Now, in my defense :lmao: I had heard the song my niece was talking about, but had not a clue who he was or had ever seen a picture of him. I have no idea what possessed me to say this, but the next words out of my mouth were, " I don't believe you...let me see your drivers license." He reached into his pocket and sd, "I don't have my license with me but I"ll show you this"....it was his resort ID card with.....of course.... MARK WILLS printed on the front. Well....didin't I feel like the idiot!!!
He then asked my niece her name and how old she was and talked to her. He said she was the youngest person that had ever recognized him out in public. He signed her autograph book and took pics with her. He was so nice. We finished up and went to the arcade to play a few games with the kids. Well, his family came in there and his daughter played a game with my niece and then he chatted with my husband and rest of the family for a bit. (but not me...I was in a corner somewhere still recovering from my humiliation!) My hubby asked him to sign his Mickey hat, which he did.
Lesson learned - never trust myself to open my mouth if I ever meet a celebrity again!

WOW, how cool! Mark Wills (you were right the first time) is one of my favorite country music singers. "19 something" is probably one of his biggest hits. He also is known for singing "Don't Laugh at Me" (a breakout hit). Your story about doubting him reminded me of a funny story I once read about Charles Schultz. Years ago, he was in a restaurant and when he went to pay with his credit card, the server recognized who he was finally. So she made a big deal like "Wow, you're Charles Schultz, I'm a huge Peanuts fan, can you draw me something?" So he obliged, and drew her a quick sketch of Snoopy on a piece of paper. The waitress looked at it, then back at him, and said "Well, that's not a very good drawing." :rotfl:

I have a funny story. In 92', my ex wife and I were at disney on our honeymoon. We had a camcorder with us and of course we filmed everything we possibly could. The trip ended and we returned home.
About a week later we had the tape out, watching the section that had MGM on it, when she suddenly gasped, jumped up, and pointed at the T.V. I didnt see what she was talking about, so she just played the tape back and said watch closely.
I couldnt believe my eyes, not 20 feet in front of me while I filmed the entrance to the great movie ride, sly stallone with three other folks in tow walked by, and we didnt even notice him while we were there.

My only spotting was Drew Carey with some attractive young woman on the dance floor at 8 Trax at PI. Friend of mine use to work there and we were up in the DJ booth at the time so we had a good view of the floor. Got to see the feet they had on the floor in the booth showing where Micheal Jackson and Micheal Eisner had stood up there also. This had to be back around 99-00, don't remember the exact year.

Last year we stayed in SRR....at the private pool I noticed this man who looked familiar....one of those..."I just can't place you" feelings. Then this beautiful woman came out to the pool with a baby and called him Jamie...and it clicked
Turned out it was Jamie Deen (Paula Deen's oldest son) his wife Brooke and their son. They hung out at the pool all afternoon with their son...
I think some people recognized them...but no one approached them.
Then a couple of nights later...as we were leaving to head back to the parks...we saw a Cast Member drive up in a very nice Caddy...and Jamie and Brooke came out of our building...all dressed up and looking beautiful...they got into the car and drove off....looked like they got some special Disney service!

My DD and I had lunch at CRT next to George Stephanopoulis and his family a few days after Easter. We were sitting at the "engagement table" against the window, so DD had to stand with her back to their table for pics with the princesses. We didn't even realize that it was him untill we were about to leave. I asked our waitress if it was him while her back was to him, and she said that it was. She asked if i was going to take a picture of him, and I said of course not. She told me that I probably had pics with them in the background, and I did. They also had some VIP guide cm's with them.

I'm pretty sure the Disney Channel Stars were staying in the AKL concierge. I'm clueless about the Jonas Brothers, but I think I saw them in the lobby. On 4/29, I was sitting in the lobby reading a book when I noticed a group of about 20 preteen girls, Disney security, Disney "suits", and 3 plaid private tour guides. All appeared to be waiting for someone. After about 15 minutes, several normal-looking teenagers (2 boys and a girl) came in and were instantly whisked to the elevators by the 3 private tour guides. The preteen girls started giggling (well, giggling more than they had been), hopping around, and generally acting excited about seeing whoever they were. Every morning that week, I saw the tour guides, security, and a couple "suits" outside as I walked to the bus. No doubt they had private transportation-somehow I never saw them on the bus!

This is a very old sighting but still fun to share.
I was on the CP in 1991 and was working at the parking ticket booth at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. It was a late shift so you really just waved people through to their resorts for the most part.
While I was standing there a long white limo stopped and the driver asked me for the directions to the Grand Floridian. While I gave them to him a back window rolled down and Melanie Griffith poked her head out and thanked me for the directions.
The other celebrity sighting that happened to me while I worked there was pretty funny. I was driving a tram from the MK parking lots to the TTC when I big town car started to drive in the tram lane. Next thing I know the car is driving through the underpass that is for the trams and pulling up in a tram spot to let someone out. I stopped my tram behind it and a couple of white Disney trucks came driving up very fast to tell them to move. Out of the steps Loretta Lynn all full of apologies. It was hysterical.

I actually met George Stephanopoulis about a decade ago, when he spoke at my University (I went to the after-party event). He's extremely friendly, and signed autographs and took pictures with people (I took one of him with a friend)while making conversation, but he's really, really short! I mean, I'm 6'6", so people naturally look short to me, but I mean, he's REALLY short. It seemed like I had at least a foot on him.

About two years ago DH and I had dinner reservations at 1900 Park Fare. We were waiting in the lobby of the GF for our pager to go off, just relaxing on the couches when a bunch of guys walked by and stood about 15 feet away from us, talking and maybe waiting for something. You could tell by their clothes that they weren't the typical Disney guest and my DH recognized them as the band Simple Plan. It made sense since they had played at a grad night there that week. It was tough to get excited about it though because the lead singer looked like he weighed 30 pounds or so and they just looked so young. There were two teenage girls in the area that recognized them and they started whispering and giggling and calling their friends on their cell phones. Eventually they got up the courage to approach the band and had pictures taken. I think we were more amused by the teenagers reaction than anything else though!

Oh this is the same guy we had on our trip. With all the pictures that I took of him, Everyone thought it was Johnny Depp or that it was a statue. I had to tell then all NO really it wasn't him because if it had been him I would have been in the picture!:rotfl2:
I have seen others PIRATE and there is no comparison... HE IS THE HOTTEST !:lmao:

Over the years we have seen several. Dick Clark (we were dining at Spoodles at the same time). A bunch of athletes and ESPN commentators (my dh & boys know them all, not me!!) Several years ago, my dh spotted Cameron Diaz & Justin Timberlake as we were coming out of Start Tours. They were being escorted into the ride (via the exit); later in the day we were in the shop across from the Art of Animation and they were just outside of the shop (bodyguards in tow). I think that is it????!

We saw a celebrity when we were at WDW at the beginning of June--we just didn't know who it was! This man and his family were lounging around the pool at ASMu. I had noticed that they had British accents as the father was playing with his son. Soon I noticed another guest go up to him and shake his hand then posed for a picture with him and they were pretending like they were boxing in the picture. I then noticed that he had a tatoo on his bicep of boxing gloves. Being the genuis that I am, I decided he must be a British boxer (smart of me, I know!) I pointed him out to DH, but he didn't know who he was either. Evidentally, not many other guests did either because no one was really paying any attention to him. When we returned, I played around on google trying to figure out who he was. I discovered that it was Ricky Hatton--a very good and popular boxer who was having a little R & R after his most recent fight. What was kind of surprising to us was that they were at ASMu. I guess I always thought that celebrities and athletes would choose to stay in the deluxe accomodations!

Just got back from a trip this week!
We saw Shaq walking through Frontierland with his family and a few CM's. They would let people walk by and wave or take pictures of him, but never go up and talk to him or stop him. I'll post the picture once I get all the pictures up onto the computer!

When I did my college program, Barbara Bush bought some things from one of the stores I worked in. She used resort delivery and had it shipped back to what was then, Dixie Landings.

We saw Jerry Lewis in Universal in 1990, and the very next day in EPCOT we had a more exciting experience.
It was the height of New Kids On The Block mania - and my sister and I were huge teenage fans... but we were just having fun in EPCOT when my parents found us and told us they saw Donnie and Mark Wahlberg heading over to the Swan -- so we immediately ditched EPCOT (my older sis was so upset - she couldn't care less about New Kids) for a trip to the Swan. We didn't see the Wahlbergs, but did see Joey McIntyre and Jordan Knight. We had already been to lots of concerts, and stayed at their concert hotels before, so we found some crew members we had previously met and hung out there for the rest of the night. Got lots of pics... where are those pics? Turns out the boys had just come back from a cruise and were spending a few nights at WDW. They weren't very friendly, b/c as one of their friends said "they're on vacation!" and didn't want to be bothered, but I've met them on other occasions and they were nice.
My sis and I are going to the reunion concert in October! But after my next trip to WDW. I feel like I'm 17 again.

I saw Drew Barrymore on Splash Mountain. I was sitting next to her, and then I said "Wait, you're Drew Barryaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh" Because that was when the drop was! I got the photos developed, but I didn't take a picture with my digital camera, mainly because we didn't have one at the time. None of the rest of my family even knew who she was! :rotfl:

When I was at WDW in May I saw the back of Miley Cyrus - she was on Test Track two cars ahead of me during EMH at Epcot. Then the next day my mom saw Cole and Dylan Sprouse in the Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK. We found out later that day (Sat. 5/3/08) that they were all there filming the Disney Channel Games and we had missed out on a free concert with the Jonas Brothers at DWWS. My mom was so bummed and wants to go the same time next year.

Through the years-- we have been accidently seated at Bob Villa's reserved table at the California Grill, Eeaten dinner next to Regis (at the California Grill-the following year), and rode it's a small world with Jason Kidd and his family. We also saw one of the UFC fighters, but I am not sure what his name was--my husband recognized him. In each circumstance we held it together and let them enjoy their time with their family. They know that you recognize them, and I am sure they must be somewhat relieved when people let them have their space.

We (mom & I) were at WDW in March of 1994. One day we were having lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe when this girl walked by and I said "she looks like Stephanie from Full House" our server said it was her and the whole cast was at WDW filming an episode.A couple of days later we saw them filming the carrousel scene .....here are some pics I took http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e89/ahcupcake8/Picture004.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e89/ahcupcake8/Picture005.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e89/ahcupcake8/Picture006.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e89/ahcupcake8/Picture007.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e89/ahcupcake8/Picture008.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e89/ahcupcake8/Picture009.jpg

Back on topic, my DH thinks we saw CHris Eliot one time, and I did get my picture taken with Derek Lowe (pitcher for the Dodgers now) when he was still with the Sox in 2003. That was at AK!

Well, not a celebrity sighting, but one of the young partners at my lawfirm went to high school with Joey Fatone here in Orlando, and they were in drama club together! He said a lot of kids were mean, and used to call Joey Fatone "Joey FAT ONE". Apparently though, they were pretty friendly with one another -this partner said that they used to screw around and try to make one another laugh all the time during performances.

That's funny, because when I called DBF to tell him who I saw, his response was... "oh great, you saw the fat one?" :confused3

June 07 I saw 2 celebs. First was Celine Dione. She and her bodyguards cut in front of us at Splash Mountain. Then later that day I saw Uma Thurman outside Tony's Hiding smoking a cigarette. She was just what you think Uma Thurman would be like. I didn't go up Uma. I figured she was there to enjoy her time not be hounded by fans.

We've seen Regis & Kelly- kelly spoke to my video camera for about 1 minute and gave my girls each a pin of the princesses! I was quite excited- and my husband got it all on video, so that was fun.
We actually rode kilamanjaro safari's with Haley joel Osment. He was a very friendly young adult and was willing to stop and get a picture with our family and the "tour guide" that he had took the picture so my entire family could be in it. It was probably 2 years ago -

In Dec. 2006, Kirk Herbstreit jogged right past us at Boardwalk. I didn't notice him, just saw some tall guy running by in a gray sweatsuit. My husband waited until he was way past to tell me and for good reason ... I was not a big fan of his at the time since he was always hating on LSU!

When I was there in 1988 we watched a taping of the Mickey Mouse Club and New Kids on the Block were the guest performers. Later that night my sister and I were walking around Epcot and we saw Jonathan Knight. I had my picture taken with him....have it on my desk at work just for laughs.
We also saw James Earl Jones at the Beach Club some time ago.

We were staying at the YC conceirge last december and as we were waiting for an elevator, another elevator door opened and there were two really really tall guys, dressed in track pants with soccer bags. My family and I were just standing there, heads turned to the side, just thinking "whos is that"?? Well the next day we went to the filming of the parade and sure enough it hit me that the people we saw was Ace from american idol and his brother. On the same trip Neil Patrick Harris was staying in one of the suites at teh YC but he was on another floor, so we didnt get to see him. At the filming we saw Regis and Kelly, Beyonce, and the Jonas Brothers!

About 7 or 8 years ago I literally bumped in to Brett Favre getting on the Pooh ride. My head banged into him right in the middle of his chest (I wasn't watching where I was going :rolleyes1 ). After I did the "sorry, excuse me" thing my husband said "do you know who that was?!"

Yeah, I felt pretty silly afterward. But, think about it, of all the people you'd imagine running into on the Pooh ride at MK- would Brett Favre be on your list?

No. I can't imagine running into Brett Favre on the pooh ride. Did you get a photo?
Calle&Jakesmom
11-30-2008, 07:57 PM
I have a photo of the back of him as the ride is starting, but it was so long ago it's not digital (so I can't share it as proof :) ). He wasn't with any kids- that's the other funny thing, just a pretty, tall brunette (wife?, girlfriend?, sister?)
Pamjr
11-30-2008, 08:08 PM
No proof necessary! I asked because I would not think to get the photo until after he walked away. Then I would be sorry I didn't ask.
I'm somewhat of a Favre fan (ok, I'm a big Favre fan!) and my guess is he was with his wife. She's a brunette. I'm not sure if she's "tall" as I've never seen either of them in person.
Either way, I'm jealous that you got to put your head on his chest. I think it's hilarious he was on the pooh ride. I don't think I've been on that since the 1970's.
