Hello,

When we go back in september I would like to request a specific room. We have told the travel agent about this but I don't feel confident that they will do much to ensure we get the room.

I thought about faxing the hotel directly but I believe I read on the dis a few months ago that the hotels were gettting fed up of people doing this?

Any ideas what I should do???

I had a phone call last night from the virgin holidays rep in Florida which I thought was a really nice touch. She clarified all my details and I asked her about the room request which we had put on POR-High floor corner room in magnolia terrace or oak manor. She said it was noted but she would call them 3 days before to check it had been assigned and she would e-mail me to confirm.I have never had a rep ring me before ,not even when we had our wedding through them last year.I wrote to CBR last year and posted it about 10 days before our departure as it takes about 5 days to get there. Our requests were honoured. As for our week at pop I didn't write to them and just left it up to the request I made through VH and I didn't get any of them.:confused3 So if I were you I would either call them or write. As you have taken the trouble to write they will probably read it where as a fax probably comes in droves and some get tossed aside.Hope this helps:thumbsup2

Hi Jo

We booked our accomodation tickets and dining plan through VH not the flights.Booked them seperate through VA as we used M+M.We are flying PE.When are you going Jo? The lady I spoke to was called Kirstan and she said that they try and call all there guests before they arrive(don't know how true that is as never had a call before on previous trips).

Nightfire-did you prefer mansions?I am not too fussed as like the rustic feel of AB but prefer the rooms of the mansions.I looked at your profile but no picture so cannot look out for you:eek: .I may upgrade to waterview if we get mansions as Iv heard the AB section with waterview is obstructed by trees.Do you know if you can upgrade at the resort?

thanks

Alyson,

I must sort out the profile . . . . only a few posts to date

We prefer the mansions so I think we will phone about 1 week before and see what they say.

We books thru Expedia and as part of a special offer the Water View was cheaper than the Standard View

Alyson we go on August 13th all booked through VH's so hopefully we'll get a call in a few weeks so I can put in a few requests for CSR. Just remembered that a friend got called last year but she flew PE too so not sure if it's all passengers or just PE? Oh well I should find out soon :rotfl2:

As I booked my flight with VA it shouldn't make any difference.VA and VH are two seperate companies. You can ring VH and ask them to put your room preference on the form. Did they not ask you at time of booking? All Kirsten did was clarify what was on my booking and if I had any questions .She also sent me an e-mail basically trying to sell their excursions and to e-mail her if I wanted to ask anything.
Its nothing special but I just thought it was a nice touch as out of the 5 times I have booked with them I have never had this happen.:wizard:

I booked on-line and there were only a few things you could request, I think it was really only non smoking room (although they're now all non smoking!) If I don't hear anything I'll phone about 3-4 days before we go :)
