:sad2: He's just a baby!
We were moved to the back of the plane because my little brother was constantly crying (he was about one; if not less). There was this man arguing with my mom because of it and he threatened to kick us off himself.

that pisses me off to no end.
he's a baby,what's he supposed to do?
however,i can kinda see it from the flight attendants view.
if he was extremely noisy,i would'nt want him interupting my personal time.
ETA:i didn't read the whole story,my computer wouldn't let me read the article.
only the first 2 paragraphs.
so if my point of view sounds totally unreasonable,i understand.

That was rude when she asked the mother to put the child on medication.

no no, i meant "me time" from a passengers point of view.
she's a flight attendant,it's her job and she's not supposed to have her me time.

I disagree.
She is a stewardess. They are meant to be nice, cooperative and friendly.
Yes, babies say annoying things, over and over again, and they're not funny. But guess what? It's her job to ignore it, or to laugh repetitively if the kid was saying it to her.
And even suggesting that she put a drug, that the kid obviously DOESN'T NEED, for him to fall asleep is rude. And using the words 'Shut your baby up' isn't very proffesional of her.

If this is in fact what actually happened, then that is ridiculous! Flight attendants should consider the fact that most mothers (especially if they are flying alone without another adult) are very nervous about keeping their children entertained as they don't want to disturb anyone. If only other passengers without children did the same (snoring, video games, laptops, reclining the seat right into your lap, etc). And it sounds like this woman and her child were not annoying to anyone except the flight attendant as the article states that other passengers were defending the mother!
Maybe the Mom should have given Benadryl to the baby because many times in a baby under 2, Benadryl has the opposite effect - it can make babies very hyper! :scared1: The nerve of that flight attendant to ask someone to medicate their child! Very rude!

You don't want to know what I would've done to her if she told me that.
But I'm an agressive person so.
That's awful. :\ He's just a baby.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Especially with the comments I have heard from many "child free" adults. Sooner or later though, karma will bite this flight attendant in the behind and she'll get back the nastiness she dishes out. ;)
With the mother having whitnesses, it won't be hard for an attorney to subpoena names and get statements to the "drug your kid" comment. IMO the flight attendant needs to loose her job at the very least. Something people like her (the flight attendant) need to keep in mind, is that some day she will be old and annoying and someone may treat her as such, just as she did this mother and child. This new discrimination against children won't stop there, it will soon lead to the mentally/physically handicapped who cannot control their words or actions and the edlerly who move to slow.

Thats just lovely. Hey lets go kick a mom and her little boy off the plane just because he keeps saying "bye bye plane." How stupid can these flight attendants get?? :sad2:

i could see the stewartess being upset if he was saying something like "plane go BOOM" or other things reffering to the plane crashing or blowing up. but asking a mother to drug her kid and kicking her off the plane is unacceptable

A flight attendant told the lady to drug her baby?!??!?!?!?!
there's no excuse... thats just plain wrong.

is that serious?
why did no one (such as other flight attendants or passengers that saw what was going on) question her authority in removing them from the plane?

I could see that the flight attendant would go ask the mom to keep the child quiet while she was giving her safety speech because it could be very useful but she could have said it nicely. Not 'shut your kid up' or 'give the kid medicine'. And then to have the nerve to have her kicked off? I hope she loses her job. That is disrespectful! :sad2:

I wont be taking a side till i hear from the attendant. i have a feeling he wasn't just saying bye bye plane. he was probably screaming/crying/ kicking the seat ahead of him. Also we have no idea how the attendant said the baby benadril comment. she may have been kidding / sarcastic and the mom took it wrong. I have been on long flights with kids who have done this and trust me its aggravating.

"Some one" as in a small child? Judging by your age, if '94 is your year of birth, and by your description of things you like to do, YOU yourself are a child. Be careful, someone may find YOU annoying on a plane someday and ask YOU to leave.

Amazing how intolerant some people are of small children. Goes back to my handicapped, elderly comment... and someday we'll ALL be old!

Saw this on the news. Wow, just wow. How could she do that? It ticks me off even more because my little brother is Autistic, and that is something he might say. He likes plane rides, but you never know, he could be in a bad mood that day, or the flight is really long, whatever. I just don't see the need for her to do that :sad2:

::yes:: For me babies arent a problem. They're babies, they're gonna cry! Its preteens like age 11 that I can't stand. They scream when you take off or land or go though turbulence(sp?). I know they all arent like this but the planes I've been on have had one or two of these.

That is so unfortunate. It's just like the boy who cried wolf. When something is true, no one will respond because they'll think nothing of it, because there has been soooo many of these types of stories.
I hope mom and baby got where they needed too.
