El Rio del Tiempo

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if El Rio del Tiempo has had major modifications since August of 2006? I thought it had been slated for a total overhaul, but don't recall hearing that it had happened.

Don't know exactly how much it has changed, but now it features the Three Cabelleros (sp?). Two of them are searching for Donald throughout the ride. I had ridden it many years ago and just was there last month.

I have not been on the new ride yet but from what I hear only the videos have changed to the Three Cabelleros.

It is virtually the same, but with the appearance of Donald and the other Caballeros running through the videos.

Its the same type of sit down water ride, except with the Three Calebros. They did a really nice job on the ride, and added some fun exciting new additions. The sound quality is much better, and so are the virtual graphics.

I wasn't expecting much from the new ride but I thought it was very cute. They changed it enough that I couldn't remember what was new and what had been there previously. The clarity of the video is great.

Yep. The attraction physically is almost identical except for the screens and the final scene (the characters are all animation - no AAs). The story is completely different, though, and really is a fantasyland ride with the 3 cabs as the focus. So whether that is good or bad is up to you!

It's very very bad. Wrong. Just wrong! But, that music will forever live on.....stuck in my head. For hours. :rotfl2:

I DID NOT like Grand Fiesta. I thought it was a very weak redo of a ride. Its obvious that WDI cheaped out and spent as little as possible on this attraction. Its almost exactly like the original, except they got rid of alot of the props (the bartering part specifically) and the dancing puppets in the end where the "fireworks" are going off have been replaced with a big screen with a dancing donald duck.

There is absolutely NO COHESIVE STORY to the ride. I heard of stories of it being a search for Donald who is lost in Mexico, but I must have missed something because it was basically a boat ride past screens of donald duck....no story at all as far as I could tell.

All the videos were the same, except they have the 3 caberlleros animated over them. It was a sad echo of what Epcot used to be, with some Disney characters slapped on half-a$$ed for the soccer moms that want every single disney ride to be for little kids. Made me sad after riding it. Don't think I'd go on it again....:sad2:
