Hi, this is just a quick recommendation for the Universal deal shown in the sticky section at the top of this page.

I recently purchased 4 tickets for our trip next April at a fantastic price of $86 each (adult and children same price) for 7 consecutive days at US and IOA.

With the sales tax added and conversion back to £ it works out at around £45 per ticket, which is incredible value for 7 days entry into these 2 theme parks.

The purchase went smoothly, and Dreams Unlimited kept me updated via email as to the progress of the transaction and I recieved the actual tickets today via Airmail, less than 2 weeks after ordering.

This must be the best deal around for US/IOA tickets surely.

It is a good price but also consider Annual pass, they have an offer on just now for buy 1 year get 1 free. $189.99.
Incl tax thats £100 for 2 years unlimited admission, includes free paking, discounts on all food(except carts) and merchandise, admission to AP events, discounts off Blue Man Group, plus lots lots more.
After 2 years you can renew at a low rate of $99/year (not increased since we started with them so may go up)
We have had these for past 4 or 5 years they are fantastic value.

I agree these offers are great value for money, we used to be AP holders and they are incredibly cheap, very good if you are going twice within a 12 month period.

Wayne, Universal website says the tickets must be "activated by September 30, 2007", so that's worth people bearing in mind - no good for us as we do not go next until March 2008.

Glad you said that Johnny! I was about to whisk off and have a look at buying them, no good for us though as we don't travel till September. Great deal though for those of us going before September!

You will have no problem if you are visiting before 30th Sept.
You can buy online now (before 31st Aug) and they have to be activated before 30th Sept.

I think the buy 1 year, get 1 free passes are still a bargain even if you are NOT going before September, as long as you have plans to return again within the 2 years. Even if you are not physically going to be visiting Universal before then, the passes will automatically activate on 30th September and will expire on 30th September 2009. For anyone who is planning 2 (or more) trips before Sep 09, these passes are an excellent deal. I have bought one for DH, who has a Power Pass at the moment, and I have a 2 year pass that I got last year.

Good point - never thought of that  as we are 'probably' going in July/August 2009 as well as next March we could get 2 years use out of them.
Our old one's expired earlier this year but are great to have.

Joh - another thought, are you sure the APs get 'activated automatically', on our old expired one's we activated them when we arrived at the park...maybe I am not reading this right?

Hi Johnny, I replied to your PM but here is the info I took directly from the purchase page on Universal's web site:

2-Park Preferred Annual Pass

Get 2 years of park-to-park access to both Universal Studios Florida® AND Universal's Islands of Adventure®, FREE parking*, plus discounts on food, merchandise, and more!

Important Information:
If unredeemed, pass will automatically activate on September 30, 2007.
Pass expires 2 years from date activated or September 30, 2009, whichever comes first.

*Free parking is not valid on your first visit to the parks.
Flexible Payment option not available for this offer.

The bits in bold confirm that the passes activate automatically.

Thanks Joh,

The full information I was looking for is only visible when you click on 'begin purchase', which I hadn't done mainly because I wasn't sure about the September activation bit....guess they should have put all the info. on the main ticket section.

We will be getting 3 of these though, great value for money...although Julie was a bit suspicous when I said I can now get 10% off the Oakley store.

Hi,
Johnny, last time we tried to use our AP at the Oakely store they said they don't accept them as the store is owned by Oakely not Universal. I think this was the only place where we couldn't get the discount. This was a while ago so things may have changed.

Mick.

Hmmm. Going end of September 2007, then probably, October 2008, then end Sep 2009.

So I'd get 3 uses out of the AP. Or its $84 for the 7 day thing.

How much is car parking these days at Universal?

Great value for money at that price, that's why we bought new one's last month, if you can get more than 2 visits in a 12 month period they really are a bargain.

Nope, gone upto $11 now. Been into both parks once this week, free parking and discounts off food so we have just about had our $99 worth from them. Will go into each park at least another twice in next 18 nights and use again next Easter. Great value.

Thanks, $11 is a bit steep - makes it even more worthwhile getting an AP now , glad we did.

Those tickets are a good deal, we got them for our trip coming up in a matter of days. I guess also, since it's unlimited access over the week and our hotel is not very far from universal, maybe they could be used for a short evening trip

Class, thanks for that list of discounts Wayneg. I have just ordered 4 passes today. Made economic sense because we plan to visit in 2009 and are staying at the Hard Rock next year so will be able to use the parks all during our stay.
