what would be the best accomidations for a lovely huge family, here's the run down.
Grandmother
Aunt
Cousin - 12
Mom
Brother
Sister
Chris - 8
Gaby - 5
Matt - 4
Shyanna - 2
McKenzie - 3 months
And of course Me.
Now I tried getting 2 one bedroom villas at saratogo but my aunt doesn't want to pay 165$ a night plus a discounted dinning plan (1312$ for the hotel, and about 500$ for the dinning plan for four nights). She wants it even cheaper, but if you go to small then you have to tack on an extra room, and who knows how far apart the rooms will be. And you have to split up the 5 little kids because you can't have all of them in one room.
Doesn't she understand that coming to disney is expensive... even with a cast discount???
With the number of people you have going on this trip, you qualify for the Grand Gathering. Your group works with the Grand Gathering group at Disney which would get you priority in getting your rooms close together. They can also make dinning arrangements for a large group that will put you at tables near each other in the restaurants you choose. Now all you have to do is select the resort and the number of rooms you want, then call Disney. They should tell you that you qualify for the Grand Gathering and put you in touch with them. :cool1:

We had only 9 people in our group in May, but we qualified as a Grand Gathering. They were so nice! We had ajoining rooms at CSR.
The number is 407-939-7526.

Can you all fit into 2 one-bedroom villas? It sounds like you need 3 rooms at a value.
You could get 2 connecting rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. Each with a trundle bed. And the two little ones in cribs. That would give you 5 in a room plus 1 infant.
That's gonna be tight though.

How would you split up the family? I am inclined to say if the aunt is not cooperating give her the choices that she could choose for her family and you do your own thing and just meet up at the parks.
If that isn't possible then break it down in writing. Two rooms at SSR would be $165.00 a night and total cost would be XXX. Three rooms at a moderate resort would be XXX and total cost would be XXX.
Also provide her with the benefits of staying at SSR instead of a moderate or value resort. IE: Full size kitchen, separate rooms, extra bathrooms, etc.
Another idea is maybe staying at two of the family suites. Therefore you will have two kitchnettes, four bathrooms and you don't get charge extra for the adults.
I wish you luck. It is hard planning a vacation with multiple family members. Everyone needs to be on the same page and how the expense will be distributed.

A 1bdrm villa for $165/nt? Was that just your aunt's portion? I didn't think you could get one for that price, isn't that just for studios?
