Someone told me once that I can get 8 day hopper passes but I can't find anyone that sells them. So where can get them?

Disney travel packages offer the 8 day hoppers.

www.getawaytoday.com! They are fantastic! The 8 day hoppers are the same price as the 7 day ones. We got them last year. Note: You don't get the actual tickets, just a voucher (code) to trade in at the Will Call window. That didn't matter to us, but some people want to have the actual tickets in hand.

Hope this helps!

I was just researching this, so wanted to let you know that:

1. 8-Day PH thru Disney Travel costs (I believe it was $10) MORE than a deluxe AP!
2. The 8-Day PH through getawaytoday is something like $20 less than the AP, $30 less than 8-Day PH thru Disney.

Don't know about you, but we're getting APs! :thumbsup2

wow thanks for getting back to me so quick. I don't know about the AP's. We don't really go very often seeing as how we're so far away, especially now that we're in scotland. Do you get any perks to having an AP? Are there any disadvantages?

you get free parking if you have a car, 15% off food everywhere except for the carts, 10% off merchandise.

Even if the AP is 20 more than the hopper, you will quickly save that amount in food if you eat at the parks at all.

another added benifit is you don't have to worry about getting you hand stamped when you leave the park for re entry.

Christina, I was literally researching this last week. I don't have an AP yet. :rotfl:

But Staley and others told me you get 10% discounts at many places in DTD, Disney restaurants (hotels and in the park) and I believe in the park shops as well.

If you know for sure you won't be back, you'd be saving a lot of money just by getting one deluxe AP and one 8-day PH thru getawaytoday (saves $20 over the AP), because this will allow you to get the discounts. DH estimated it would have saved us over $100 in discounts last year. Wish I'd known this then!

Oh, plus Disney occasionally runs AP-only rates on the hotels. Though AP holders have said these discounts have been few and far between this year for some reason. Lynn did get a great deal on hotel room last Feb., I believe it was, and took advantage of it.

Oh that sounds like it's worth it then. We eat in the park for almost all our meals, with an occasional breakfast at mimi's, so we'd save quite a bit then. And maybe it would be incentive for us to come back again soon after our November trip.

We eat most of lunches and dinners in the park, too, not to mention all the souvenirs we bought!

We were already planning to go this fall, and hopefully again next spring, so APs would definitely save us a bundle. However, DH is now wavering on the 2nd trip, in case he's in a new job and can't get the vacation time; we're also planning a trip to Hawaii for our 15th anniversary in fall 2008.

I am probably going to get a Premium AP for myself (to get the 15% discount), a deluxe AP for DH (because it's only a $30 difference and has the potential to save us a lot more over the PHs.) With the kids' prices v. APs (same cost as for an adult) I'm still unsure. Might be just as well to get them PHs thru getawaytoday, and then again if we do take the 2nd trip... Cost is about the same, I believe.

OK, I just looked up the exact dollars, and here they are:

http://www.getawaytoday.com/TicketListing.aspx

Gate price: 8-Day PH: $249
Getawaytoday price: $209

Deluxe Annual Pass (thru DL site): $239

I believe 7-, 8-, and 9-day PHs all cost the same.

Oh, and a word of caution about the Deluxe AP: It does have black-out days, which are some Saturdays and a few other days when the park is expected to be especially busy (around holidays.)

However, you can pay $30 to enter the park on a black-out date with your AP.

If you are unlikely to take a 2nd trip with an AP and the dates you are looking at include blackout dates, do the math to see if it's more cost-effective to get a PH thru getawaytoday. :teacher:

Would it not be better to compare the price from Disney and the price from Getawaytoday opposed to the gate price?

Yeah, we like to go in off season to beat the crowds so the day we picked were not blackout days, the day after we leave is though :thumbsup2
So no EE with the AP's, but it's good for one year from the time you activate it. Hmm....we'd have to eat 600$ worth of food to break even, does that sound right? lol, that's alot of food. 10% discount but we pay an extra 60 dollars for two AP's...

I thought they were one and the same...? I was not able to find a price for 8-day PHs on the DL site.

Don't forget savings on the souvenirs as well. We dropped quite a bit last trip, but maybe we won't this trip, I don't know. This trip I'm hoping to go to Blue Bayou for a meal (ka-ching!) And of course we do have two children, so it's a lot easier for us to spend $600. :rotfl:

ALex2kmommy, she wouldn't get ANY savings on souvenirs, only Premium AP's get that!! Deluxe only gets food!

We just came back on Sat. but before we left we upgraded our 8 day hopper (AAA travel package) they gave us $209.00 credit for the hopper, and then we paid the difference) to a deluxe ap which was $30.00 for each pass. It would have been something like $120 for each for a premium pass.

OK, Christina, $600 IS a lot of food for the two of you! ;)
Good thing I'm getting a Premium then... More incentive for DH. :rotfl:

Well I guess $600 over 8 days isn't really that much depending if you are going to eat some sit downs or character meals!! But then atleast you know you can come back soon, that's incentive enough right there Christina!!

That's only $75 a day for food, which is a lot, but not if you do BB, Goofy's Kitchen, or Steakhouse 55!! You figure $50-$60 a day for a nice meal, then $20-$25 for counter service and snacks!! But if you dont' do a sit down meal every day, you most likely will not make the break even point!! You could always just get it for one of you, I am sure you could save $30!

So you're getting the premium not the deluxe? The premium looked to be quite a bit mroe expensive. Yeah we talked about getting just one AP but then I'd want to do EE because I could but dh wouldn't be able to, but I guess that's not a big deal. But the idea that we can go again, like October 2008 would be good. So I don't know, either way, I can now get a good deal.

We just paid $209 for 8 day hoppers through Disney. I think the children's passes were $179. I called and they added them to our reservation. The 7 day were the same price. We didn't opt for annual passes because there were a couple blackout dates during our stay and we wouldn't be back within a year anyway.

I emailed Disney a while back to ask about 8-day hoppers (just the tickets, not part of a package or anything) and got this response:

We do not sell one online however we do have one at the park. They are $249 for adults and $219 for children.

We ended up getting one AP with parking for me, with 8-day hoppers for my husband and daughter - we'll be in the parks for 7 days but at the moment have one free day (which knowing us will turn into an 8th park day!). That worked out the best option for us.
