The last time I went on Splash Mt. at DL, the seating was like this...has it changed since it's refurb?

Actually, it has changed. The logs are completely different.
The last seat is a double seat now which can fit a pooh sized person more comfortably, or an adult and a smaller child. Each person has their own area for seating and the backrests divide the spaces. It appears in your photo as though it was just one long bench seat with no dividers.
HTH.

Now THAT would have been cozy. You're thinking of WDW's Splash.

Wow...that IS different. I'm a Pooh-sized person so I will probably sit in the back, but how small are the other seats. My son is about 6' and is a big man...about a size 42" waist. I was wondering if this was going to be a problem for him.

oh he is fine... tell him to sit in the front of the log so he has more leg room...
then tell him when he is on the log he will get a nasty suprise :D

They put me and my 2 boys in the front of a log last time, about 600lbs combined, and 3 little kids in the back... needless to say we were soaked :) good thing it was a warm day.
