You'll love POR and October is a great time of year to visit WDW. I hope you'll think about going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. There's an extra charge, but very fun to attend.

I would strongly suggest Park HOPPER passes!!!

POR is a great resort--very lush and beautiful, lots of great activities to entertain you when you're not in the parks. Do catch Bob Jackson's show at the piano lounge in POR, and do rent a surrey bike (but not after a full meal!)

Welcome to the DIS!!! You will love POR, try fishing at the fishing pond.

I loved this resort. It was me and my DS9. We had a room by a quite pool- great. The bugs are very loud at night! We fished, we rented a bike. We didn't take the boat to DTD, but we will next time. Tis was a great place -- and very beautiful.

Just seconding the welcome and the great choice. You will get to see some fun things at WDW.

Big piece of advice - Don't expect to see it all. Just go and see what you can. Take time to enjoy your resort, too. There is way too much for one trip, and that's a big part of the magic.
