I really hate the entire genre. It doesn't help that in 3rd grade we were forced to sit and listen to the teacher read it for an hour a day against our (well really only mine! ;) Almost everyone else liked it.) wills. The only thing worse than reading a book you hate is being FORCED to listen to a book you hate.

My teahcer started reading it to us in second grade but everyone loved it, I guess when your forced to do something you end up not liking it for some people...

It's my theory that a lot of the people who say that they like that book only say it to sound intelligent (mostly adults). Of course there are people who ligitimatly like it but I find that most people who claim to love it can't tell me a lot about it.
I'm with you Sparx. Those books drive me nuts.

Honestly, I love TKAMB, but a lot of people do that with most books. People want to sound well read without..actually..reading. Most charles dickens for example, people claim to love it, just becuase its supposed to be a classic.

i read it in a couple hours. it was wonderful.
i agree.
it was great on it's own, but once you start looking for and analyzing all of the symbolism and themes, it's absolutely amazing.
the author wrote about two pages a day, and her attention to detail really shines.
and i'm not saying that to sound intelligent.
it's legitamately a literary masterpeice.
I agree with Sparx about the teenage-girl-and-life-sucks books.
I also don't like uh...well...I think that's it.
I hated The Boys of Summer, but that's a Non-Fiction book, so it isn't that big of a deal. I wasn't too fond of To Kill A Mockingbird, but I thought it was ok. The message was good. I felt the same about Lord of the Flies.

I read TKAMB in 9th grade English class, I really liked it (:
I don't like Shakespeare, though, if those counts as books.
I guess if I'm actually watching a play or movie, it's okay, but I can't read the plays to save my life.
And Macbeth I just don't like.
I'm not a big fan of the Harry Potter books, either.
That might be because I watched the movies before I tried to read the books, though.

Hi,
I love to read books all kinds of books. I was not the best student in school . did not read much then ,but now that I am older I love all those books classics , new ones . . I must admit I needed a dictionary for some of the words in Crime and Punishment.
Worst Book
The life of Owen Meeney. Think that was the title.

I really don't care for The Hobbit.
I had to read it in 7th grade and was so confused and bored that I ended up reading summary's of the chapters.
I might try to read it again though when I am a little older and it can hold my attention.

Hatchet. Seriously, it was horrible.
Emma. It was written in like Old English, and I had no idea what was going on.
Eragon. Like everyone likes it but me.
The Sign Of The Beaver Oh.My.God. It was so bad.
Island of the Blue Dolphins It was sad. And boring.

Animal Farm wasn't the best, but it definitely wasn't the worst.
I've never read To Kill A Mockingbird, so don't know about that one.
I love the Harry Potter series and am anticipating the release of Book 7.
Hm...as for books I dislike (I don't like to say hate...), I'm not really sure about those. The Lemony Snicket books were confusing to me...I keep meaning to search the internet for an analysis or something of the books, to get me unconfused. Maybe I'll do that now.
And Wicked. It's a marvelous musical with a wonderful story, but I tried reading the book first and I was appaled...don't remember why though. The book remains on my shelf for displaying purposes...and I like the cover art.
Other than that, I don't remember reading a book I didn't like.

most of those "i'm a teenage girl and life sucks" books.
Yes yes yes. There are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many of those.
Other books that suck:
Alex Rider. Too much action, not enough story. In movies and video games that would be fine, but that can kill books, such as this.
Most teenage drama books.
Overboard. One of those survival books. I enjoyed parts of it, but it was sooooooooooo boring...
Catch 22. I haven't read it, but my dad says that it's really, really weird.
Hoot. Dumbest book to be made into a movie EVER!!!
Eragon was a good book, but the movie looks like a generic LOTR rip-off.
