Pronunciation ??

Okay, this is probably really stupid but I'm going to ask it anyway and then likely regret it as soon as it posts but...:rolleyes1

When saying DIS board or DISers, do you say "D.I.S.ers" or "Dis-ers" or is it more like Diz-ers ala Disney? I've been thinking D I S board but not sure if it's right.

See, I told you it was dumb but I was telling DH about something I read on the board the other day and he said "Where?" and I'm sort of, Oh, THE Disney Board! :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh - I never even really thought about it! I've always pronounced it Dis boards - like the beginning of the word disrespect, disconnect, etc. But now that you point it out it does come out more like DIZ with a 'z'. I've never even considered that people were saying each individial letter like "The Dee Eye Ess Boards!" Ok any official word from a moderator on this one???!

This has been a looong, ongoing discussion on these boards! I don't think I've ever heard someone suggest the "D-I-S" pronounciation. Must people say it's either:

"Dis" (disssss) - because it stands for "Disney Information Station," or

"Diz" - as in Disney/Diz-ney.

I've always said "Diz," but started to wonder if "Dis" was correct, because it's an abbreviation.

Don't they pronounce it "Dis" as in discount on the podcasts? Hehe, I can't remember now, and don't have any on this machine!
