DH and I have been offered a stay at this resort for a possibly July '08 stay. It looks fantastic on the website. Can anyone weigh in? Opinions?

How it looks on the website is how it is...and more! It is owned by Ginn Resort, who also owns the Reunion Resort in orlando.

We stayed in a one bedroom over New Years Weekend and it was great. They have a very fun pitch n putt golf course, beach cruisers to ride on, a nice, clean beach, a lazy river, and several pools as well as poolside entertainment. Our room had a great view of the beach.

The complex itself is huge and spread out a bit. I recommend either the main building, or I believe it's called Ocean Hammock. This is important only in being close to all the ammeniteies.

The onsite restaraunts are expensive, about like any 4 or 5 star resort, however the one we ate in (the main one) was excellent.

If you want any specifics, just ask!

I live less than 10 miles from Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, FL.

What would you do there? :confused3

Do you have kids? If so, they will get bored quickly.

It is almost two hours to Orlando/theme parks......there is not much to do here.....the beach is rocky and the beach sand is brown due to the shells mixed in the sand (sticks to your feet), not great for swimming but it's pretty to look at......no theme parks, no entertainment - if you love to play golf, go to the spa and eat in the restaurant I guess it would be a good vacation. I have visited there for various luncheons, activities..... it is a pretty place
But for the money I would rather stay in Daytona Beach or St. Augustine beach. They have wide beautiful beaches with WHITER sand.
