You any suggest a car rental company? I have checked the rates with the major companies but they are all about 300.00 for an economy for just 5 days!! I have checked a few of the smaller companies (Ace, deluxe, value, etc.) and they were about half the price!!! I am alittle leary of the smaller companies. I hope someone can give me some feedback!! I hate to spend over 300.00 for a car!! I would love to instead maybe stay at a better hotel!! I just booked the Fairfield inn!! I booked a disneyland view room!! for 159.00 per night!! I am so excited!!! :cool1:

Any help would be very appreciated!!!:flower3:

Enterprise is usually the cheapest, but i suggest you use priceline.com and name your own price.

I used Priceline and got a full size vehicle from Hertz for $16 a day last month. For the week, the total was less than $150. Might want to try that...

I also have good luck with hotwire.com. They use only reputable companies, and they'll tell you the best price up front and you can pick. Then after you've paid, they tell you the company.

I've gotten cars for as low as $16/day.

I also always check carrentals.com to see the various going rates for all the companies.

I second Hotwire. We've used them for the last five or six trips with great success. Our last home was close to LAX so we used Hotwire anytime we needed a rental car. Hotwire also has unlimited mileage, which helps if you plan on driving a lot during your trip. I recently booked with Hotwire for our December trip and are getting a full size car through Budget for $16 per day. The only drawbacks are 1) you have to pay the entire cost upfront, 2) there are no refunds (unless you purchase the trip insurance) and 3) you usually have to pickup the car from an airport lot. In LAX many of the lots are located outside of the airport so they'll take you there by shuttle.

If you don't HAVE to rent from LAX, don't. In my case we are flying into LAX and taking the Disney Resort bus from LAX to Disneyland. We won't need a car while we are there so I'm not renting a car during that portion of my trip. For the rest of my time in SO CAL, I am renting a car from the Alamo at Downtown Disney and returning it a week later at the Burbank Airport. Total for the week rental is $109, MUCH cheaper than if I had rented the same car for the same time period from the same company from LAX. So, if you can, consider NOT renting at LAX, it seems to be MUCH cheaper.

Thats because there is an airport tax...

We've always used Enterprise and found they have the best rate. I can't do Priceline because I'm Canadian but darn those are cheap rates. Guess I'm just happy that it's cheaper there than here in Canada. Plus we got on the shuttle and with in 15-20 minutes we had our car. Then drop off was just pull the stuff out and back on the shuttle to LAX it was so easy with Enterprise.

Ouch...that's awfully high. I rented a compact car through Thrifty from August 12-18, and the total came to $109. I was lucky enough to get in on a Southern California special last month.

Last year I used Hotwire and got a good rate for budget out of LAX.

Two drawbacks: you don't know where you're renting from until you pay and let me tell you, renting from Budget on a Saturday at LAX during the summer is a NIGHTMARE! It took us over 2 hours of standing in the longest, slowest moving line to get our car.
SEcond, once you pay you're stuck. No refunds, no cancellations.
