I just saw this on the islandpacket.com web site. Might make for an interesting day trip:
Take a ferry ride
Hilton Head Island to Beaufort
Where: Palmetto Ferry Co. will travel from Salty Fare Embarkation on the island (near the Boathouse Restaurant on Squire Pope Road) to downtown Beaufort.
When: Cruises leave the island at 10:30 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
Hilton Head Island to Bluffton
Where: The ferry travels from Salty Fare Embarkation on the island to old town Bluffton's Calhoun Street dock.
When: Cruises leave the island at 10:30 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Tickets are $45 for adults, $25 for children.
