Got home today and ANOTHER pink certified card...this one for TWO parcels from Disney. I'm sure it's just ears or lanyards but still very exciting! Now I guess I'll wait til Friday to pick up all three since I don't want to wait at the PO two days in a row. Man...July has been a good month for me.

To answer a previous posters question, I send three cards a day and have been doing so since the beginning of this promo. Missed a few days here and there, but do manage to get them out most days. :wizard:

Did they mail you kid size or adult size? I am hoping it is adult size so it will fit my head! :earsgirl:

Got 4 pairs of ears in the mail today! DS was bummed - he was the only one who didn't win one - so I gave him mine. Don't feel bad for him though - that kid is ALWAYS winning stuff!

We'll probably keep one for each kid and give one to DH's aunt or sister or both if we win another one.

Didn't notice a difference on the sizes - have to check that later.

Congrats to the other winners and good luck to everyone!!

We were out running errands today and when I got into our van my cell phone was beeping. It was our nanny saying that the postal lady came with two packages from the Disney Dream Team! Two!

I played my voice mail and it was that we had Dream squad boxes so I bee lined it home.

My DS and I both won a pair of YOMD ears! I am wearing mine all day and we put DS's up before he breaks them.

Now, do we wear them on our next trip? I think I am just going to put mine up also.

I won!:woohoo:

I got a certified postal postcard from Disney yesterday. Is that what you guys are getting in the mail? It says I have to pick it up at the post office and the sender is Walt Disney (From the grave?) and the large envelope is checked off. I am so excited. I did not start sending postcards until mid-May---so this must be from a May drawing?

CarolG

Yes, the prizes are sent certified mail and require a signature. A large envelope is usually a lanyard/pin set, and a box is usually ears.

Congratulations!:thumbsup2

Hello all mail-in winners. I want to try mailing in postcards. We just returned from our 9 day trip this past Sunday, our trip was wonderful, however, no actual dream prizes for our family, lots of pixie dust and magical moment certicificate where we were escorted directly to the front of the line on Primevil Whirl, but no actual dreams.

So, I am going to send postcards, daily. So, is it just one a day I can send? Also, if I send 3.5 x 5 inch index cards, address to Disney on front and then my info on back? Thanks to all the winnners out there for your help!

Box 8629, Elmhurst, IL 60126; or (ii) if a legal resident of the United Kingdom: Disney Dream Giveaway, 483 Green Lanes, London N13 4BS. Participants may enter once per day during the Giveaway Period. All mail-in entries must be mailed separately, postmarked by December 31, 2007 and received by January 14, 2008 or they will be void.

Well, there's probably no one in Elmhurst sorting all the mail and saying "AHA! Grannyminnie sent in five cards again today! Toss 'em out!" ;) Wouldn't that be a lovely job?

I wonder if they scan the cards and sort them on a computer?

Well, every few days I check these boards and see everyone who has won something and finally, today is my day!!! I received the pink slip in the mail and I can't pick it up until tomorrow. I will be there first thing in the morning. I have been sending postcards (2) every day since around April 1st.

We are going to WDW Sept 20-28, as if I weren't excited enough already-now this adds even more excitement! I don't care what it is...just knowing a little piece of Disney magic has made it to us is all that matters.

Best of luck to everyone out there-don't give up!

So I'm thinking that they only mail out winners once a month. Is this pretty much how it's going? Pull out names one month and two months later the winners receive the item? We've already won 2 lanyards and a pair of ears, however, my daughters are fighting over the ears. Imagine a 23 year old and a 31 year old, fighting over ears!! TOO BAD! They're MINE! All MINE! Hee hee! :lmao: :rotfl:

We finally won!!! We started sending out the postcards in February (or March, I really can't remember, lol), quite faithfully and after 130+ postcards (and God knows how much $$$ in postage) and no prizes we gave up at the end of May. I didn't think we would win anything, but today my mom had to go sign for something at the post office and it was a landyard and pins set!!   You would have thought I won the lottery! Ok, just went to lunch with DH and all I could talk about was this! "HOW in the WORLD did I NOT know I could send in a postcard! I've been depressed that I couldn't get down there and I could have sent a postcard?" SO, for you winners, do you hand write them? Can I do the address on the computer and hand write the personal info? I know they want you to hand-write some of it so people don't mass produce them, but do you think it would be ok to do the address with a computer?
The rule says, "Also, starting on September 18, 2006, eligible participants can enter without being present in a Disney Property by writing their full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), and date of birth on a 3.5"x5" postcard and sending it with proper postage affixed to: (i) if a legal resident of the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada or Mexico: P.O. So, winners, did you do a 3.5" x 5" card everytime?

*KeepMovingForward*

So, winners, did you do a 3.5" x 5" card everytime?

I did. I bought the blank pre-paid postcards from the post office and those were 3x5.

sconnell
07-25-2007, 11:44 AM
ok, that's cool.
I was thinking about doing 4.25" x 5.5" (that's what I have) Do you think that would work? Has anyone sent something other than 3.5" x 5"?
Do you think I have to hand-write the "mailing to" address? It says write name, etc and then mail to...
What do you think?

GraceLuvsWDW
07-25-2007, 12:07 PM
I hand wrote mine for the first month or so then I mass produced some on the computer. I used generic office supply store 4 to a sheet postcards that are perforated so you can print them on the computer. They were not the 3 x 5 required size, they were 4.25 x 5.5 so you can win with any postcard size.
Good Luck!
Expect to see a prize around 3 months after you start sending them in. (At least that's how long it took for me!)

I got the phone call today to answer my skill testing question and the guy on the phone told me I had won ears! I can't wait to get them!

Just a note to everyone waiting though.... he did mention that they're pretty backed up with sending things out and told me to expect my ears in 8-10 weeks. So you may have even won something last month and just not received it yet.

Skill testing question? What's that all about? We've won hats and lanyards from YOAMD and never got one phonecall...and I know because I put my cell # on all the postcards. YOu have me intrigued now.

Osjah&Landon'sMom
07-25-2007, 09:18 PM
I asked this Q a while back... evidently in order for them to win in Canada without having to pay some crazy taxes it has to be a "skills" win and not a lottery so they get a Math Q to answer to make it legit....

Princess Stitch
07-25-2007, 09:58 PM
Yeah, basically if you give something away in Canada without a skill testing question it's considered a lottery and has to conform to lottery standards in Canada. It doesn't have anything to do with taxes though since in Canada we're not taxed on lottery winnings :) If you ever see contest entry forms here you'll notice they all have some kind of question on them, or state that you must answer one to claim your prize.

It's usually some kind of simple math question like 13 - 3 X 5 / 2 + 7 = _____ so it's not like most people get it wrong. I know it seems kinda silly, but hey, I'll answer a math question for those ears any day!
