You can access this discount through lowes website. I only checked for the HRH, but I would imagine that the other hotels have it too.

FYI for Lowes plat ~ was told you have to book the discounted *garden room* to qualify for the king suite upgrade.

Pardon my ignorance but what's a 'super saver rate' & who qualifies ?

Hmppph, I see that they don't have any King Suites left online for my dates in Oct. Even if they did have some that they don't show online, I'd only be saving $7.10/night over the AAA rate. I'm currently holding at $242.10/night for my King Suite.

Tracey, the super saver rate is available to anyone as long as you are staying at least 4 nights. Plug in your dates here:

https://universalhotels.ibe.netbooker.com/web/FrontController.nb4?module=Prop0ertySearch&operation=AreaPropertyAvailabilitySearch&execute=yes&instanceId=96&areacode=UER&areaname=Universal%20Orlando&ChainPropertyCodes=UEHRH+UEPBH+UERPR&lookAndFeelId=969&locale=en%3Cbr%20/%3E

and see if the rate comes up. Let me know if the link doesn't work for you.

Thank you.

My military rate is still cheaper (even if I was staying 4 nights;) )

Is the discount coming up for a garden room for your dates? Since you already have your plat upgrade to a king suite at the AAA discount, ( this is what I have too. :) ) all you have to do is call reservations and have them change your *RATE*, your resservation number will not change. It does not matter if a king suite is showing avail or not, you already have yours booked. :thumbsup2

No, sadly, no GV rooms. Only pool view rooms. :( We are staying for 8 nights (6th - 14th), and I even tried splitting my stay up. No such luck.

lol, we must have the same luck Jodie. They pulled a fast one on us this year because the ss rate isnt posted on the universal site. I wouldn't have even seen this if I hadn't looked on the Lowes website today. I am usually all over those rates when they are released, lol. Oh well, there is always next year!

Ugh, I took your advice and mac's, and I dealt with the most unhelpful reservationist. She insisted it was the opposite ... that there were no King Suites or GV rooms left, and she had to cancel those and rebook and I could lose my room if she did that. I told her that mac just had a supervisor change the rate, but she would not help me. She said that she would have to rebook and I'd get a new confirmation #. Hmphh. I hung up and tried to call back, but wouldn't you know I got the same reservationist? I guess I'll try my luck later and hope for someone more helpful. $242.10 v. $215 does add up over 8 days!

I got 198 for pool view (HRH) and 242 for club using the super saver rate.....is it a Loews qualified stay ?

Hi Tracey, I believe it's supposed to be, but I have been dealing with obstinate people at Loews Orlando this morning, so i'm going to wait to try again this afternoon.

Here's what (further) happened to me ... for our November stay, I changed my AAA rate ($191.20) to a Super Saver rate ($179). Not long after I made the ressie, I got a call telling me to ring special services at Loews Orlando reservations. I did, and I got a tude that if I still wanted my King Suite, the upgradeable rate was $191.20, and they needed to adjust my rate higher.

I am hoping I have better luck this afternoon.

Jodie, did you call lowes or the hotel? I would try calling the lowes reservation line. You should not have to change your resservation unless your dates are changing. I have been switching my rates, and sometimes even dates around for years. I have never had the problems you guys are having, I just dont get it.

If you cant get anywhere with the lowes resservationist, try calling the hotel and asking to speak to the guest service manager.

Yes, the super savers rate is a published public rate. It does qualify for the lowes first program.

Thanks for the tip.

I just updated my reservation online (which I didn't know you could do - thanks for that) and saved $150 on the AAA rate for a Club King room for 7 nights.

I didn't think the prices would go below the AAA rate so I've got a big smile on my face now :)

Thanks,
Stephen.

Oh, I have to try this! I have the AAA rate of $242 for 3 nights 10/27-10/30. First I read you need a 4 night stay to get the rate, but then I read sjcaulfield is only staying 3?

AlexandNessa

That was me who reported that. That's what it used to be, but I guess not anymore.

I see a rate of $229 for GV with the super saver for your dates. Do you have a King Suite already booked (I think you're plat, right)? King Suites are not showing available online. This is where I ran into a huge circle jerk today trying to get my rate changed without giving up my King Suite. Lots of time wasted with no rate change. If you are successful, please let me know as I dealt with 3 separate people who were all NO help today.

ETA: Now, I know why I thought it was a 4 night minimum ... if you add an extra night onto your stay, the GV rate goes from $229/night to $215 per night.

I went on the Loews website and could not book. I called Loews and they said I had to book the Orlando properties through Universal. Much to my surprise they were in at 12:10 AM. Yup, GV for $229, but was told no King Suites available. I said I have a King Suite, so if she booked me a GV, then my King Suite should still be available for my to be upgraded to with my Plat. She could not do that so I asked if her supervisor could. The supervisor will be in at 9AM so it was suggested that I give a call back then.

I will let you know if I am successful. If not, I will keep my King Suite as this is the first time I have been upgraded at HRH and I don't want to miss my chance for the King Suite. :cool1: My savings woud only be around $45 so I am happy to save that amount, but also happy to spend it if it means keeping the KS.

jodie, you should be able to swing this rate change.
i'm still trying to help you.

i called and switched to the SS rate.
rate now $209 a night.
am platinum and had booked the GV w/ free upgrade to king suite back in february for the october stay. i did not have any problems in UO changing the original rate of $269 to 209 night.

super saver is a qualifying stay for the loews first program.
and, you have to book 4 nights in a row.

Thanks, mac. I suppose I'll make phone call #7 this morning and try yet again. Also, LF customer service still has not responded to an email I wrote them on Friday regarding this situation. Not that I expect them to over a weekend, but I do hope they at least acknowledge their inconsistency.

Thanks

Hi Mike. I checked online for you, and there is no availability on your dates at HRH or PBH (not sure where you are staying), and only seasonal rates available at RPR (GV is $239 for 2 adults). Don't think you'll save anything.

I booked a garden view room at HRH a couple of weeks ago and received the king suite upgrade as I'm a Loews Platinum member. I spoke to 3 different people over the weekend trying to get my AAA rate of $262.10 per night changed to the SS rate of $235 (this is for 3 adults). I received 3 different responses of why the rate couldn't be applied to my reservation. I ended up sending in my request via email and just received the following response:

"As a courtesy I have extended the super savings rate to your upcoming stay. The super saver is an internet discount rate and reservation must be made through that source, and Loews First does not apply."

I'm only assuming that I still have the king suite upgrade, but will call shortly to confirm and to get an email confirmation of room rate & room type. Phew...

I am staying the HRH. I did call Universal Hotels, and got the same spiel, that it was an internet discount and if I could find it there, I could call back and they (Universal Hotels) would match it. This stuff can sure be confusing???

Just a little update for anyone who cares to know...I just called to confirm my rate & room type and everything is good. HRH King Suite w/a SS rate of $235 per night. Actually, they had in their computer that this is a AAA rate, but whatever. I've got the rate and the upgrade so I'm good to go. :goodvibes

So I called the HRH yesterday and I was told there are no AAA rates available for my dates (10-26 to 10-28)?? I am booked now at the AP rate of $265 A night, that's for 3 adults, why can't my son be under 18 again :confused3

Anyway, the women told me to call back and keep checking for AAA rates. Hmmmm.... seems strange that some people are booked in October with AAA, but I was told they weren't available yet????

mike, the AAA rates were available in january of this year for october.

i booked and got the AAA rate then.

maybe they are all already allocated . if someone with the AAA rate cancels then there would be an opening for you or whoever called first to snag it.

even with the AAA discount, i still call periodically in case the rate drops again. this year i won't since i modified to the SS rate.

i have seen in past years at hrh for the aph rate to drop 3 weeks before my ressie time period. i was told that happens when there are rooms available and the hotel wants to fill them. some travel agencies book a block of rooms but release them back to the hotel when they are not sold by a certain date. i know orange vacations buys rooms at a block to sell to customers. i checked with them about 4 years ago when i wanted the garden view when none were available on the UO site.

I am really baffled by all of this!!!!

We want to book a room at RPR for 1 night either 16th or 17th August 2 adults and 1 child. I have just applied for Loewes card and got a number which they said would be actived today but as of yet it hasn`t been. The rate I am getting to far is $239 for garden view plus tax (we`re in UK)

Could I possibly get a better rate than this and how?

Any advice very much appreicated as this is so confusing.

Many thanks

Do you have the UK equivalent of AAA (American Automobile Association)? I am showing either night at RPR available for $191.20 with AAA. You'd have to call them to get that rate though. You can't book AAA online. You can apply your Loews First number to the reservation at any time. It won't get you a rate break or anything. It may get you an upgrade to a water view room if one is available when you check in though.

Thanks AlexandNessa, that information is great.

Just worked it out $191.20 with AAA (or AA in UK) plus cost of joining AA here (minimum cover) would work out more than the basic rate $239. So think it will be better for us to book direct at the normal rate and quote our Loews number to see if anything better is available at check-in.

Thanks again much appreciated.
