View Full Version : Disney's Magical Express - only from airport to WDW resorts in WDW?

If one was staying at the Hilton Hotel, Swan Hotel, Dolphin Hotel, or any other non-WDW resort hotel or nonDVC resort in WDW (Lake Buena Vista), could one book the Disney Magical Express between the airport and such a hotel?
I am posting this thread on this forum, rather than elsewhere on this bulletin board, as we are booked to stay at the Old Key West DVC resort from July 22-29. If we were booked to stay at the Hilton Hotel near Downtown Disney on July 21, could we still book ourselves to go on the Disney Magical Express?

Magical Express will not take you to a non Disney hotel.

Magical Express will also not take you a day early/late...
Example: Last year we booked a five-night stay (Sun-Thurs) at BWV...about 10 days prior to departure we decided we wanted 2 add'l days...of course, availability 10 days out was a challenge...on our first try we got the Swan for the first night & SSR for the second extra night...I called DME and told them I had a reservation at BWV starting Sunday, but wanted to take ME on Friday (figured we could walk from BWV to the Swan)...ME said no...they can only book to or from a WDW resort on one of the days of the reservation...
(We wound up lucking out and getting our extra night at OKW, so we did get to use ME...but that came in 3 days later)...
So...ME is only for WDW resorts while you're staying there...

that say you can stay at a hotel close to the airport - MCO - you want one with a free shuttle back and forth to the airport. then early next morning get up and go back to the airport and take the DME to your WDW resort.
Disney has done this many times.
the hyatt which at one time was everyone favorite - it is in the airport - has gotten some bad reviews lately.
