I am feeling very old and decrepit today. This was my oldest DD's 19th birthday, which made me feel kind of old, but not bad.
The decrepit part came this morning; youngest DD "melted" when I was getting her into her wheelchair and my back got hurt. It got better during the day, but tonight I hurt it again getting her settled on the toilet. I don't hurt now (Motrin is wonderful, but it will wear off). DH will be able to get her going for school tomorrow, but I will have to care for her from school ending until at least 6pm tomorrow. Please send pixie dust. I will need it.Ï

Oh, Sue! I am sorry, dear! Hugs (not too tight!) and some nice muscle-relaxant, ligament-healing Pixie Dust is swirling around you right now...
I hope that this does not flare, and that you are feeling just fine very soon. Try to take it easy, and get others to help you lift if you can.

You're not old and decrepit yet! You are stronger than many mothers - after all - they don't have to pick up and move the weight you do on a daily basis. You are perenially young as evidenced in your love for WDW...
Back pain - ahh - blame it on the recently cold weather.... take some nice pills... you'll see! You are WOMAN - watch you roar!! :D :D
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~~~~~~~!!!!
Get better!

Thank you all for the pixie dust. I can feel it working already (it works really well with Motrin IB). I talked with our Employee Health Nurse at work and got some advice - nice thing about working in a hospital. It appears now that I probably strained muscles in my backside and thigh. Better than actually hurting my back, but still painful and takes a while to get better.
Thanks for all your good thoughts.

Thank you all. My painful areas have been upgraded from "painful" to just "pretty annoying" and I have lifters at home here to do the heavy lifting. My thigh muscle down to the knee feels like when you have overworked a muscle and can feel the burn. It does give me some insight into poor DD when she is having leg cramps. I will probably go to see the Physical Therapists at work next week to see what advice they have.Ë
