View Full Version : Confused about the "180 day" rule

Can someone help me?
Does this rule literally mean to call 180 days before your trip? Or does it mean 6 months to the day? For example, we will arrive at WDW on February 10. Does that mean I can call on August 10 to make any ADRs? Or do I literally have to get a calendar and count 180 days backwards? Is there any easier way?
Also - can I make all my ADRs for the whole trip when I call on the "180 day" mark? Or do I have to call back every day for a whole week to make those ADRs for our weeklong stay in February.
I hope this makes sense. Is there a "180 days for Dummies" link floating around out there?

It means literally to count backward 180 calendar days. You can call Disney dining reservations and ask them when 180 days from your requested date would be, & they'll figure it out by computer.
So say you want ressies for CRT breakfast during your stay from (for example) April 3-9. If you call and ask Disney when to call for a ressie for April 3, you have your starting date. If you call that day and they're all booked, you can call the next day for April 10, etc.

Go to this site and put in your arrival date. It will break down when you can start making your reservations!

Looks like you can start making ADRs on 8/14/07. You should be able to book all of your ADRs for your whole trip (up to 10 days worth) - provided you are staying at a Disney-owned resort (from your signature, it looks like you are!).
Here's a good reference: http://www.allearsnet.com/din/reserv.htm
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the above link!
I've just bookmarked that page so that I can keep track of what and when I can book! I'm hoping to get ressies for CRT, but my Dad's been reading and says I'll find it extremely difficult :sad1:

I have Fodor's and Birnbaum's guides and they mention the 180 days and say that CRT is nearly impossible to book. I called 407 WDW-DINE with a question at 183 days out and was told I could book all my ADRs then. I got all my ressies (including CRT!!!!) without a confirmed hotel reservation. Like I said at the top CALL AND ASK!:goodvibes
