OK, for all of you who don't know about the Do-Over follow the link in my signature to my other trip report, and then come on back here when you've finished it, otherwise you might be lost.
This all started back in November, if you recall when Oblivia sort of ruined our trip. Well, I believe in what comes around, goes around, and I guess my doggin' out of Oblivia came back to bite me on the butt, cuz I'm gonna need a Do-Over of the Do- Over. Are you following. See my dh Chris was a little bit of Suzy Crabbypants on this trip(ZZUB, that ones for you) cuz he has recently started a new business on top of his existing one, which equals stress to the max for him, which eventually spills over to the rest of us and leads to a meltdown of almost epic proportions on the last day of our trip...DUM,DUM,DUM!(That's my cliffhanger music for those of you new to my trippies)

I'm second!!

And, before she rags on him TOO much, let me go on record by saying Chris was a very nice guy - very friendly and gracious! :cool2: Bob enjoyed chatting with him before our "Tower of Terror" ride! :)

Ok, that's out of the way... You may now continue, Crazy Kanga.... :lmao:

(did he ever find that Dr. Pepper?! ;) )......

Oh, and yes Renee we did eventually get the DP but had to travel all the way back to Goodings to get it. Anything for Nick's DP fix. I bought him 10, 2 liters when we got back home because they were on sale. My nephew saw it and said "I've never seen so much Dr. Pepper in my life." I told him it was for Nick's Dr. Pepper I.V. drip!:rotfl2:

Isn't THAT the truth?! We slept in late this morning - then I went to the post office to pick up the mail - oh. my. god. You would think we were gone for a year! Then to Costco to get our photos printed and cd made, shop for some things for July 4th BBQ, bank, Starbucks, and home to LAUNDRY! I am cooking now, because, sorry gang, but there is NO GOOD ITALIAN FOOD in Central FLORIDA! LOL :lmao:

The cast of characters for all you newbies:
Me- Laura AKA Crazy Kanga (my baby's nick name is Roo) AKA CK
DH- Chris AKA- Suzy Crabbypants
DS 12 Nick AKA Noodle or Noodlehead- Dr. Pepper Freak.
DS 11 Luke AKA Roo AKA Baby
Oblivia-not really on this trip, but will be referenced occasionally cuz she is the reason for the Do-Over in the first place.
Here is a pic of us(sans Oblivia) at Epcot. It is the one and only picture of all of us together from the whole trip. We are so lame.:sad2: And yes, I know my pictures are big, but I like them that way so you can see everything real good. I hate it when people post little bitty pictures. We middle aged folks can't see that well, we need big a** pictures!

Al little back story for those of you not familiar with the Disers Stalking Disers thread. My dh Chris has recently started a pool installation businees, after putting ours in our backyard last summer. So, a few weeks before our trip he began his first installation for a friend of ours, and due to weather and other unforseen events, the process did not go according to schedule, which put a lot of stress on him which of course trickeled down to me and the kids. He even dared to suggest a few days before our trip that we postpone it.:scared1: How dare he. I wasn't having any of that, so we pressed on and he worked himself silly, and still didn't get it to where he wanted it, but managed to get it to a place where he felt semi-comfortable with leaving. The customer has been very laid back about it all, and hasn't put any pressure on him about it, but being the perfectionist that he is, he has put plenty of pressure on himself. So, as I said, Chris was a little bit of a crabbybutt on this trip at times, and rightfully so. I don't want anyone to think I am one of those beeochy wives who nags and rags on their husband all the time. As a matter of fact, I have really bent over backwards to try and make everything as smoothe as possible for him to calm him down. Unfortunately, me being overaccomodating and nice to him seems to grate on his nerves even more than me being a nag.:rotfl: Can't win for losing sometimes, but oh well. We pressed on with the trip, and I packed every bit of our stuff and loaded it into the car all by myself so all he would have to do is shower and hop in the car and we would be off to escape from the stress of everyday life to our Happy Place! Yeah Right, like that is gonna happen. It just so happens that during our departure day the roofing crew arrives unannounced to fix some hail damage to our roof. SO I say whatever, go to it. And luckily it has no major bearing on my day until the owner of the roofing company comes by to collect, which still is fine, but he just so happens to be a friend of my brother-in-law who is house sitting for us when we are gone, and they all decide to sit around and drink a beer and chat, while Chris is SUPPOSED to be taking a shower. This drags on for over an hour, which is starting to eat at me cuz I have a schedule, and I don't like people messing with it. After a few evil eyes and subtle hints, I finally have to insist that Chris go get ready. Eventually, he does, and we are on our way out of town, only 30 minutes off schedule.
:woohoo: Woo Hoo We're headin' to Disney World.

I have certainly been there when Rob is crabby but everyone else sees Mr. Nice Guy. Family is always the one to take the brunt of things. However, I know you did nag him about one minor detail. Hmm...let me remind you of what it is. It ends with either the "Z" sound or the "S" sound. :lmao: Chris told me that you convinced him to nag at us to convert to the Zzzzzzz, but no going sista!

Oh, no I did not. He is such a Liar! I did tell him that we had a split between the Dissers and Dizers, but I in no way told him to nag. He was the one that was so outraged that anyone could dare to dis the Disney name by mangling it with the s sound instead of the z sound.

Thanks for the good laugh. It was still fun for him to nag me on it. He didn't get me to change my mind tho! Of course, we didn't spend the whole day together so he may have wore me down if we had! :lmao:

You link to your pictures is tempting but I haven't clicked over there because I like to associate the pictures with your TR. It's more interesting that way. Let me know at the end if you did not include any of your pics and then I'll check them all out!

Sorry to hear your husband was Mr. Crankypants. But I'm looking forward to hearing about your do-over trip which will require another do-over. It's as if Disney is purposefully messing with your vacation to make you come back again and again. Odd.

On behalf of non-Fockerwatcher/Disers Stalking Disers: please, PLEASE, PLEASE put a link to your next chapter at the end of each chapter. That way we can easily follow along with your story. And no one will start a thread labeling you and your friends as cliquish and describing your Trip Report as hard to read. Not that that's ever happened to me. Or anyone else I "know."

After about 5 hours of mostly uneventful car travel, we decided to stop for the night in Cordelle( hertofor reffered to as CorHELL!)Georgia. Now not to dis the people of Cordelle, I am sure the town is lovely, but we never saw it by daylight. You see when we arrived there with my back aching at 11pm we found a Hampton Inn and checked in for the night. No sooner are we settled into our beds and about to go to sleep, when we hear the lovely sound of a train whistle. This is no big deal at first. We live about a mile away from a train track at home so we are used to it. But after a few seconds it became obvious that this train track was a little closer than the one at home. Like 100 yards away! So needless to say we didn't get a lot of sleep. It seemed as if a train came thru about every 30 minutes or so. Who knows, all I know is I didn't sleep much at all. So at about 4am we get up and check out by 5am so we didn't ever see the lovely town of CorHell GA. We did however get a free night after a little wrangling with the front desk guy. You see, Hampton Inn has a 100%satisfaction Guarantee, and we were NOT satisfied with the amount of sleep, or lack thereof we had gotten. At first, Chris sent me in to do the dirty work of telling them about the lack of sleep. Obviously they had heard this sob story like every day the place has been there, and they must be told to blow it off as harsh reality of life in CorHell. I wasn't feeling very plucky so I gave up and went back to the car defeated by the night manager. Chris, on the other hand, wasn't about to let them off that easily and went back and stood his ground and got us a free night. Oblivia would be so proud of her offspring!
On we went to Orlando and once we got on the turnpike I started seeing signs for Hwy 249(I think) or whatever that back way into Disney is that I had heard about here on the DIZ!:rotfl2: Anywho it saves us like at least 30 minutes over the way we usually come and it was so AWESOME! We were driving through the arches by 10:15 am and soon we were at WL!!!!
I gotta go now. Come back later when you find out about our big surprise !!! Dum Dum Dum!

Ok, here is the big surprise!!!! We got a free upgrade to concierge!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!:woohoo: I was so excited. We have never gotten a free upgrade to anything before and I have heard all about other peoples free upgrades here on the boards, but never has it happened to us. So I was thrilled. The nice CM thought she had to explain to me how lucky I was, but I already knew. Yay us! Well as it turns out, we had to wait about an hour for a our room to be ready, but that was no big deal because we wanted to check out the resort anyway, so we did.

I am so with you on this, Laura! It's DIZZZZZ people! Dis like his, not dis like hiss. If it was pronounced DISS, it would be spelled DISS (like miss, kiss, diss, piss). Plus, it's Disney, pronounced Dizney. So there really is no argument for you DISS people! :thumbsup2

Is the Wilderness Lodge anywhere near Fort Wilderness?

And Laura - your photos are great!!

We always try to stay on Conceirge level when we stay at Marriotts - I really like that perk! Was it a hassle to only be at the resort for one day, though?

Your pictures are excellent! Makes me miss the Lodge a whole lot. And that's a su-weet upgrade. I hope you made rednecks everywhere proud and planted yourself in the lounge and ate every morsel of food the minute it was put out. Or did you just take a monster tray of food back to your room? Also a good option.

This may be why the ZZUBs are never upgraded to Concierge.

We did the south proud in the lounge. When we first arrived it was noon time and all they had were cokes and goldfish and pretzels and stuff like that. But when Happy Hour was on we had oursevles a drink or two and Chris made a meal off of the uncrustables to soak up some of the beer.( It's OK folks, we left the driving to Disney that night) It's a wonder he had any room for dinner at Ohana later that night, but he managed somehow.

After our leisurely afternoon at the pool we went up for showers and naps and then hit the lounge for libations(aka cocktails) before our little journey over to the Poly for dinner and our Wishes Cruise. My friend Theresa (a Disney CM at MK) was meeting us for the evening, so after a few glasses of wine and some cheese for me and a few beers and uncrustables for Chris and the boys(ha ha just kidding, the boys didn't have any uncrustables:lmao: ) we headed down to the boat dock to take a ride over to the Contemporary.

About to board monorail to Poly at the Contemporary

http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x141/diznut68/142.jpg
Now we could have made this trip in all of about 5 minutes or less had we driven to the Poly from the WL, but being the responsible parents that we are(remember we partook of the free drinks at the lounge) we took this scenic route which took more like 45 minutes. Luckily, I knew it would take a long time because I frequent the DIS so we allowed plenty of time for this excursion, and still made it with 20 minutes to spare for our 7:45 ADR at Ohana.:thumbsup2

If you can't win four new cars, at least an upgrade to concierge level is something.

No movie reference is too vague for me.

As for the circuitous route you took to the Polynesisan, it was your first day at Disney, you HAD to use Disney transportation, whether your were imbibing or not. On the first day, you're glad to ride a boat, a bus, a monorail. By day 3 you're all about getting there quickly.

I need a do over of last week. I went on my first vacation with my extended family. We went to LA, Lower Alabama...Gulf Shores to be precise. Sometimes, I think people are not as considerate of their family because they think they can get away with it.

Allright, we made it to the Poly and check in at the podium about 15 minutes early and get a beeper thingy and have just about decided on a drink order when our ZUBBer goes off and we are escorted to our table. Oh, I almost forgot to introduce you to Theresa my friend who is a Disney CM. She works in the tunnels under the MK in costuming. She is a lot of fun and we are seated and immediately decide we must order the legendary Lapu Lapu. Let me just take this little moment to warn you that this potent potable is not for the lightweight. Luckily neither Theresa nor I fall into this category so we go for it and have a fine time at dinner. Even our tagalong Fauna Focker decides to partake and it turns out she's no lightweight either. I heard she had been hittin' the adult beverages(or beaver eggs as we call them at our house) quite a bit lately. That's Theresa in the background lookin' a bit peeved at Fauna for sippin' from her Lapu Lapu.
http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x141/diznut68/146.jpg
Anywho we have our pineapple fru fru drinky poo and before long the parade of food begins or should I say parade O' meat! Sorry vegetarians you may want to turn your head away for a bit, cuz there was some serious flesh eatin' goin on in that place, let me tell ya! Vegetarians beware of Ohana. It is NOT the place for you! Yes, they do have some veggies, but the meat to veggie ratio here is like 10 to 1! Don't say I didn't warn you.
So we pig out on a various array of grilled meats until we are about to pop. All this great meaty fun, sprinkled in with a lively bunch of ukelele music and all manner of loud Hawaiian family entertainment and a smattering of greetings as cuzin'! But,thankfully the Lapu Lapu made all of that seem like Lots O Fun! I'm not sure how sunny my disposition would have been otherwise, but luckily, we'll never know will we.:lmao:
Theresa, believe it or not, after 15 years as a Disney CM had never been to Ohana and promptly decided this was her new favorite place to eat and planned to have her B'day party here in a few months. Told you those Lapu Lapu's were AWESOME!
OK. I know what ya'll are thinkin'! Those lushes were wasted after all that drinking, but you are so wrong. We only had 1 and though potent all that meat helped drown out the alcohol so we were able to make it down to the boat dock for our Wishes Cruise without a single Capn' Jack Sparrowish stagger! Ha, so there! And I have witnesses don't I Courtney and Mandy?
Here is a random pic of us as we are killin' timearound the Poly until time for our cruise departure.

After wandering around the gift shop and the Wyland Art Gallery which is way cool but way over priced IMHO, we went out and found the boat dock which was quite simple to find really, yet Courtney and Ryan who claim NOT to have been drinking that night remarkably could not seem to locate it.:lmao:
Mandy and her family made it just fine and after our happy first face to face meeting we chatted and waited patiently for the missing Courtney and Ryan! Dum Dum Dum!!!!

Ah, now where were we. Oh, yes, my sweet little family and my great friend Theresa as well as my new friends mandy and her family are all waiting with Robert our nice boat captain. Who are we missing... Ah yes, that would be the now very famous Courtney and Ryan, stars of the new Trip Report Forum sitcom titled "Could We BE Any Hotter" Now if you haven't read that trippie, you are just not a cool kid. Mandy also has an up and coming hit on her hands also titled 5's a Crowd. Check them out now on a thread near you!
OK shameless plug over. Why I am plugging for them is beyond me, cuz they are way more well read trippies than mine, but oh well, that's par for the course for me. Anywho Courtney calls me about 9:15 which is when we were scheduled to meet at the boat dock and says "where are ya'll we are a the pool bar buying Ryan a bottled water, we'll be right there." So I tell her and so about 5 minutes later they still aren't there so I call her back and say "Where are ya'll" and she says "we are at the boat dock!" Uh, no you are not, we are at the boat dock and we don't see ya'll! Well long story short, they are at the far end near the little water mice boats..."like we're all gonna fit on those Court!" See it turns out they had been drinkin' after all!:lmao: Just kiddin' Court! Love ya, Mean it! Ok so we are all FINALLY all there and are able to board the wonderful Wishes cruise. We get on and all start chatting away like old friends who have known each other all of our lives, but in reality, Mandy Courtney and I had all just "met" a few months back on a pre trip report thread started by the also very famous trip report writer Disneyolic aka DM aka DawnMaree. So anywho we have all been chattin' here on the DIS for the last few months planning all these DIS Stalker Meets and wa la this was one of them. We had a blast chatting and laughing and poor Robert the boat Captain was a little sad that he didn't get to entertain us with all of his cool celebrity stories cuz we were all too excited about meeting each other and talking about our other meets and how our trips had been so far and yada yada yada. Anywho we have a GREAT time, and Wishes was way cool from that vantage point with no crowds and the music piped right into the boat and the free snacks and good friends...:cloud9: !
Here we are Courtney, Mandy and me with a little of Chris tryin' to get out of the picture in the Grumpy shirt (so appropriate later in the trip I must Say)

So way back when he first started seeing pics of Courtney in her siggie here on the DIS he said "who is she...She's Hot!" It was SOOO funny and just way out of character for him to say. So anywho while we were waiting for Courtney to arrive at the boat dock, I overheard him whispering over and over to himself(which is something he does often...like thinking out loud) "She's Hot." It was so sweet and hilarious! So Court, I just want you to know you should be SOOOO HONORED to know that you are officially Nick's first crush!

AWWWWW--- CK... That brought tears to my eyes! He's so sweet.... Precious Nick. Gotta love him. Both of your boys were the sweetest, most polite kiddos. I REALLY had a SUPER FUN time on the cruise, and loved reading your version of events!!!!

Yes, we were are the wrong stinkin' dock! But at least we were at the right reort, right? =) I got that part right-- The Poly at 9:15.

And poor boat driver--- We didn't listen to a word he was trying to tell us! We were blabbing so much up in the front!!!!

Give the boys a hug for me! They are so so so sweet, and I had so much fun on the cruise with yall.... And on the ToT ride, but I suppose you'll get to that part of the TR in about two months, right =)

Anywho we have a GREAT time, and Wishes was way cool from that vantage point with no crowds and the music piped right into the boat and the free snacks and good friends...:cloud9: !

Actually, Nick used to hate fireworks, but every year he does a little better. We always have his earplugs, but he still covers his ears. The Wishes cruise is great, because you are farther away so it's not as loud. Maybe you should try it. We loved it!

Thanks, Laura! Did a lot of "soul searching" this year, but decided this is a good point in my life for a "change"! I will miss the kids, but Dana's heading to high school and will need me to be available to get her places... She's always been at the same school with me, so it was easier then!

Don't worry about the Policy & Procedures manual just yet. I wrote up a brief description for book processing and check out procedures and Sister was THRILLED with it. (typical NO CLUE of what goes on in the Library Administrator - you know the type - but she's a dear person) They aren't hiring a replacement - the teachers will be required to do a Library Skills Lesson once a week and a parent volunteer will run the Library. (I have to take deep breaths and remember it's not MY baby anymore.. :sad1: ) I live 2 miles from school, so I did tell Sister I would stop in and go over things with the "parent volunteer" when things were settled for next year. If I find that we need more than what I left them, then I'll ask you to mail that manual to me. Thank you for the offer. ;)

And how nice - new carpeting & new paint! But, did you have to move the shelves or books at all?? I moved my entire library across the hall to the new room 7 years ago- my DAD moved each shelf of books himself! What a gem! That was QUITE an experience, but worth it, as I was involved in the planning and design of the new Library. That's why it's a little bittersweet. I will miss it.

Oh... and I think it is really sweet that "you know who" and "you know who else" are emailing back and forth! I think she just sent him a photo of Mr. Mocha! :goodvibes ahhhh... to be that young again....:hippie:

Congrats on the retirement. LOL, if I were up there, I would probably be the parent volunteer. I spent many many hours helping in the primary school library where my DS went. Last summer we had to recheck EVERY, SINGLE book for new reading levels and points, along with arranging the library for a new librarian. Imagine if you will every book in the middle of the floor, and every shelf empty. :scared: This year they are painting, but hopefully won't have to move many shelves.

It was a lot of fun though, and I got to know a lot of the kids. Hopefully, I will be a volunteer in the Intermediate School this year.

Seriously, it was a lot of fun. I'm very lucky to be able to be a mom without a paying job so I can help when I'm needed. (I started to say "stay at home mom" but I'm almost never home; I'm at school, then I tried non working mom, but that is the biggest oxymoron of them all.)

I know what you mean! When I was home, people would say , "You don't work?" and I would laugh and say, "Oh, believe me, I WORK." :goodvibes I have always been blessed that I don't "have to" work, and didn't plan on working when my daughter was born - but once she started school and I was volunteering so much, they begged me to stay, so I went back to the "paying workforce". But, let me tell you, working in a small Catholic school actually cost me money those 8 years! :goodvibes The pay was very low and I put a lot of my own finances and time in to keep things going the way I knew they could be. Again - I was blessed that I could afford to do that and have a very supportive husband who agreed with my decisions.

Now I'm looking forward to going back to "volunteer status"! Already the high school has contacted me to help in the office! (I'm staying clear of the library though - I wouldn't be able to work in SOME ELSE'S Library! :goodvibes )

Thanks everyone. Nothing is wrong here, just been very busy with visitors and parties and getting ready for back to school. I have to go back July 30th and kids go back August 2nd, so I really need to get on with this cuz once school is back in full swing, I really won't have time.

My nieces live in MS & they go back to school early August too. Good thing is that they're done by mid May! :goodvibes It does seem very early to those of us in the Northeast. Our kids don't go back until right before Labor Day.

After our WONDERFUL Wishes cruise, we head back to the WL via the boat. It turns out Robert docks his boat at WL, so he takes us back and tells us the coolest story about his most famous celebrity on his boat. He said last year he had Angelina Jolie and some friends which was kinda cool, but THE coolest ever was many years ago and he came to work and they told him he had a VIP cruise to be picked up at the GF and he wasn't told who it was but he knew they had to be VERY SPECIAL because there was all kinds of very fancy food and flowers and stuff and he pulls up and who should come out but............................................... ..............
PRINCESS DIANA and her boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG, I was teary eyed. It was so cool that I actually sailed with the same captain as Princess Diana. I am not usually starstruck, but that was sooooo cool to me! I loved her and I really admired her grace and love of people and so to have that common bond, however petty it might be, was just too cool to me! So there is your minor update. Consider yourself blessed! Ha Ha:lmao:

Ooooooo.... you sat on a boat with the same captain as Princess Diana!!!:cool1:
That's up there with my friend starring on Broadway, took us on a "backstage tour" before her performance in Les Miserables, and brought us out on the actual stage, before the audience arrived. And I SANG!!! So, I can say that "I SANG ON THE BROADWAY STAGE!" :rolleyes1

It's amazing how these things thrill us otherwise normal people, huh?! :lmao:

Thanks for the "mini update", Laura!! :goodvibes

I'm a little late to your great TR. We have been to the WL twice before & loved it. Next time I'd like to stay at a monorail resort cause I feel a little out of the way at WL.
You do start back at school so early. I don't know that I'd like that. August means summer to me.
Anyway, good luck next week.

Yes we do start back early, but we do get a week off in October, that's why. We also get out of school May 20th, so it all evens out.

Our first park day! MK!!!!! Yay!!!! We get up bright and early and head down to the Concierge lounge for our one and only free breakfast of the trip. We had yogurt, bagels, danish, croissants and the like as well as coffee (for me) and cokes for everyone else. Yes, I let my kids have cokes in the morning-jeez ya gotta get your caffine any way you can, especially at Disney World! Then we pack up the car(no big deal cuz we only had 2 bags) and head down to the car to drive over to the MK parking lot which takes like 2 minutes tops! The we go to our first ride of the day---- The Monorail! :woohoo: We are such geeks. We consider the monorail a ride. Soon after entering our monorail car I hear someone yelling out my name. First and last so I know they actually know me (not one of my DIS friends cuz they woulda said CK or Crazy Kanga or Laura) but NO! First and Last! So I am lookin' around and low and behold there is a girl I went to high school with who also has a kid at my school, who also was my surgical nurse for my hysterectomy! Small World huh! SO, there ya go. You never know who you'll see on the monorail! - Just Sayin!( That was for you DM!)
Anywho, we chat for a few minutes then say our goodbyes and part ways as we head over to the Guest services window for our GAC. This is the Guest Assistance Card for Nick (my autistic son) For those of you not in the know about the GAC, it is a special card for kids or adults with invisible disabilities. I try not to use it too much but it helps get us through the day without too many meltdowns. As he has gotten older, he has needed it less and less. Basically it allows us to use fastpass entrance whenever possible, which is a huge help. To most people Nick appears "normal", but as you will see later in the TR, MELTDOWNS :scared1: are subject to occur with or without notice!!!!!! OK, consider yourself notified! So we head to Fantasyland first cuz this is Nicks favorite place. It has most of his faves including the rides we did in this order...PP, IASW, Pooh, ..Ok, I really don't remember, but anywho it was most of Fantasyland! Then on to Mickey's Toon Town Fair where we did Barnstormer 2 times in a row without having to get off! Flippin' Sweet!(ZZUB that was for you since we haven't had a ND reference in a while). Anywho after chatting online with babes for a while ;) , we went over to Tomorrowland for some "Buzz Likeyear" and "Puppies of Progress" and then on to Space Mountain and Astro Orbiter and of course the ultimate ride in Tomorrowland, TTA!!!!!! Paging Mr. Tom Morrow! Dang, I just CAN"T get enough of that crap! :lmao: Then we decided it was time for lunch. Nick wanted Pinnochios, and Luke wanted to go see Sonny Eclipse, so we split up to keep everyone happy.:) Then met back up and went to Mickey's Philharmagic which is always too cool!:cool2: I just love that "Be Our Guest" Pie smell!
Tune in tomorrow(paging Mr. Tom Morrow:rotfl: ) when I finish the first half of day 1!
