Does it work well?

This will be our first time traveling in August and I am trying to come up with ways to stay cool. I bought two Champion brand tanktops with Coolmax at Target last week on clearance. Are these a good product? What should I be searching for? :confused3

Thanks for your help and any other tips you can give me to keep (and DH) cool on our trip!

PS-We live in central NC so we are pretty used to the heat and humidity! :rolleyes1

When we travel to Europe, we wear clothing made of Coolmax. It wicks better than cotton.

I bought the same Champion athletic clothing at Target! It's not actually "Coolmax", but what Champion calls "duo dry" (another type of moisture wicking fabric). They even have underwear with that fabric, in addition to tops, shorts, etc.

I'm looking forward to trying it out next trip - I hate sweaty, wet-feeling clothes. I did try Coolmax socks on previous trips and found they worked great.

Coolmax is GREAT! I have walked and trained for the past 2 years of the Breast Cancer 3Day walk (60 miles in 3 days). Wicking material is all I wear when I am in the heat now.

Couple of pointers:

DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTNER!! It does something to the fabric to make it not work.

If you use the socks and you are in them all day, take an extra pair and change half way through your day. You will have "Happy Feet".

For women, the wicking bras are great too. If you are like me and need an underwire, make sure you get a bra tight enough that you don't move around in.

Stay cool and dry!

We are training for the Disneyland Half Marathon, and Coolmax is the way to go.
