Security will check your bags before you enter. We always take sandwiches, snacks, and bottled drinks that we can refill with water from a fountain. We save alot of money by doing this for lunch and then eating dinner in the park.

Last August, we watched security at MGM confiscate a 6 pack of beer out of the cooler belonging to the person in front of us, so I'd say alcohol is a no no! :rolleyes1

We always bring stuff with us to the parks and security checks our bags and have said nothing. We bring snacks, sandwiches, bottle water, chips and cookies etc... I know you can't bring in anything like a cooler but heard you could bring one with wheels. (If you'd like to roll it around all day during the peak season) ... It saves money to buy more souveniers fro WDW.:woohoo: :woohoo:

We always brought in snacks and drinks without a hassle. One tip I used last time was to bring in Koolaid singles and ask for ice water at the snack counter(It's free) . That way I didn't have to lug around water bottles and the drinks were always cold.

I like to partially freeze my water bottle that I bring into the parks. It stays cold all day and I can add additional water while in the parks. As others have pointed out, no glass bottles and no alcohol allowed. They don't sell chewing gum in the parks but I believe you can bring it in. Also nice to bring a damp washcloth in a plastic baggie w/ you. It's quite refreshing when you get hot.

We bring a soft-sided cooler into the parks all the time. Security has never given us a problem.

The food-related things you CAN'T bring into the parks are:
alcohol
glass containers (except baby food jars)
hard-sided or rolling coolers
Everything else is kosher to bring in ... so to speak.

Soft-sided coolers are no problem. A lot of times people hear "no glass" but then forget, for example, that their favorite Snapple comes in a glass bottle, so make sure you think it through before you try to bring it in.

And again, about rolling coolers ... security won't allow you to bring anything in the parks that you pull behind you, so that means no rolling coolers, no wagons, etc.

We bring in just a few snacks for later. We eat our pop tarts on the way to the parks or while waiting for the bus. We bring the very minimum into the parks. We don't like to carry much at all! It's too hot and too busy of a day to bother with it. I do like the idea of the single kool aid packets!

Alcohol is a no no even in parks that serve it.

We always bring a few snacks in a small pack when we go to the parks. It sure saves a lot of money and it is fun to take a break and watch the people. We like to take dried fruit and nuts. They seem to hold up well in the packs. popcorn::

We bring in snack crackers, gummy worms and various cookies. We have never had any problems with bringing in snack foods or water into the parks. We pack them in a back pack with an additional change of clothes for DS 5.

IS the water cold from the fountains?

I will be sure to get a stock up on those single flavored packets, I have used them all summer and kept them in my car for when we are on the go plus they are less calories than soda. :)
